Please I need more inputs from folks that had similar experience in the past.
I’m a mum of 10 months baby, I got my student visa approved and my baby is suppose to accompany me.
I have booked our flight for December.
I have my fears on how to navigate a new country with a baby as a student, so I was advised to leave my baby behind, when I am fully settled I come back to pick her. Hopefully, my husband would have his visa approved and we leave together.
Please, what do u guys think? Will there be any issues at the airport and immigration if I don’t show up with her? Will I need to change my ticket and are there other things am I supposed to do? I am traveling to British Columbia/ Vancouver.
Please experienced people in the house I need your advice.

I am sure you must have received advice on this issue. For your mental sanity, leave the baby till you settle or when your husband joins you. However, if you have loads of cash to spare, there are daycare and baby sitters that will look after your baby while you navigate through school. Studying abroad is not easy....it becomes even more difficult if you have been out of school for long. There are lots of assignments, quizzes, presentations and reports to submit. All these may add up to elevate your stress level and puts you under pressure if you have kids with you without any support.

Kai, I need to keep doing serious work on my boy that is still growing up to be able to man up in the future. Honestly, men should establish control right from courtship and never loose guard of their authority. It is even difficult for a foreigner that is resident in UK, Canada or USA to be hired as a Paramedic talk more of hiring someone from Africa. To be a Paramedic requires lots of vetting and disclosures. Check well o!

Apart from needing over $1m weekly to import hair attachment only not to talk of food items, etc. Our middle class craving for foreign things are majorly part of the problem of Nigeria.

The moment the country (Nigeria) bettered the life of some people and made them middle-class that can save up to 10milion naira, they ditch the nation and forget the nation that made them and face the nation that colonize them. This life is funny

Some important points made here...….once your status changes from lower class to middle class, your taste bud changes as well. Most importantly, lots of middle class Nigerians are no more seeing future for their children in Nigeria and fears that their children may not have the same opportunity they had as things get even worse..... reason why many middle class are taking the "japa" route and re-establishing their families in other countries.

Well, there are limited pathways and nothing is promised , for those who are interested here is a video released this week by the immigration minister . Students are only aware that there are limited pathways when they entered canada. This has called for concerns especially by the indian population here asking the minister questions since they stopped their CEC canadian experience class draw which was what students hugely depended on to transit to PR. The minister promised to announce fresh pathways for those who are already in. Some in Atlantic provinces get PNP but that is also getting tighter now and requirement is getting tougher. This is because as of 2023 over 1.8million temporary residents entered canada within 2 years.

The situation is becoming dire. Almost 830k international students will be out of status if urgent pathway is not created. Indian students have been protesting about their current situation, where most of them have ran out of status. My relative that got to Canada since July hasn't seen any job yet. Course work and assignments, coupled with Canadian lifestyle is taking a toll on her.

It is always shocking to me for a man not to find out that a child is not his by observing some OBVIOUS characteristics in a child.

You saw the birth of a child; carried that child; saw the child grew under you; saw the child cried; you saw the child's hair strands; you saw the child's dentitions, jaw and ear shapes; you saw the behavior of the child. In all these, you did not notice any of your traits, my brother, you are careless, ignorant and not observant. You should have been put on enquiry if you did not notice some similarities and not wait till the child grows to teen or adult stage.

May looking at my kids, gives them away easily - as a man, there are certain characteristics you look for in a child to determine if he or she is yours. Look at the hair strands, the tooth, especially the canines, the ear and jaw and finally certain characteristics of the child like even the way he or she smiles, toes, nails and certain behavioral tendencies. I see myself in my kids without even blinking, I see my sisters way of behavior and characteristics in my daughter - there are many similarities to help you draw conclusion about the paternity of a child if you are involved in his or her live and very observant.

I saw it coming. Aljazeera and Euronews are my favourite news channels because of their focus on documentary news reporting, which I like so much. However, they are always pro-arab against Israel or US interests. I have watched how they have been reporting the Gaza war with emphasis on the Palestinian casualties. It would be difficult to convince the VO to grant you visa to go and do PSW. Go for practical nursing. Your O'level grades and your B.sc degree grade in Microbiology will be the determinants for getting the practical nursing diploma.

I want to apply for a course at St Lawrence College but the course will be offered at Alpha College which does not offer PGWP. I was made to understand that Alpha college is affiliated with St Lawrence College and after completing the program, I will be able to qualify for PGWP because St Lawrence college will also give me its certificate.

I don't know whether someone has been in this situation before and he or she is able to apply for his or her PGWP. Please advise.

Avoid Alpha College at all cost. 700 Indian students could not start school as the school over admitted their capacity given to them by St. Lawrence. It was a very big issue. Go and read about. It is in the news

Go for practical nursing......the accelerated 2 years degree nursing is even more competitive, and in some cases, reserved for PR holders and citizens. Both the practical nursing and accelerated degree still show career progression as long as you have your Nigerian bachelors degree in nursing and you are working as a nurse. Let your SOP do the job of explanation. However, know that gaining admission into the nursing school in Canada as an international student is one of the most difficult. Most bachelor degree nursing holders in Nigeria enters Canadian schools as PSW, Palliative care nursing student and other nursing areas before transitioning to full nursing education and practice.

It is too late......before election, Tinubu would have been disqualified but after election, no way. It is a pre-election matter and would be thrown out. Finally, I doubt if supreme Court would admit any fresh evidence that was not presented to the presidential election tribunal. If the supreme Court fails to admit any fresh evidence, the case is closed.

Is too late. The fresh evidence on forgery can't disqualify Tinubu now. It should have been brought before the election. The only option is to go to ordinary court and sue the president for certificate forgery. This is the problem I have with the church in the East. I may have to write to the faithfuls the same way St. Paul wrote to many faithfuls in the biblical times . Some of these spiritual fathers always behave like demi gods, disrespecting their diocesan Bishops. The Bishops in the east seems very weak before their reverend fathers. Once a reverend father starts gathering some "believers " to his side with one week day prayers or the other, he would start forming superman and invisible. I am not a fan of all these so called holy ghost fathers that keeps bringing disrepute to the Catholic Church.

Fathers Mbaka, Ebube Muo Nso and their likes falls into the categories I mentioned. People flock to all these prayer ministries because of the man made hardships imposed on us by the successive governments in Nigeria. You are aware that once most nigerians leaves the shores of this country to the countries were things work, they stop disturbing God.

These fathers needs to be put on check. You can't try any rubbish within the Lagos archdiocese. Bishop Adewale Martins will discipline you sharp sharp......no waste of time. He was brought up well by Cardinal Okogie.... a no nonsense clergy man. The church hierarchy in the east needs to purge itself of bad leadership and reform itself within so that the Catholic Church there should be in the way and manner it was set up by the Irish missionaries that built one of the most revered institutions east of the Niger.

So what becomes of this marriages when the men themselves couldn't even afford the pride price? More destitute and poverty will litter thesociety. It is better to be unmarried in poverty than be married in poverty. There are lots of social costs to the society when poor people keep getting married and breeding like rabbits.

If he is a "big man", why risk it to go and start low paying "hustle" without any end insight based on his limited education?

Can't he try the Canada route and use the wife as the principal applicant? If the wife is educated at the degree level, she could be the main applicant through student route while the "Oga" will be the dependent and face the hustle in Canada?

Having dropped out from school may be an indicator that he is not academically inclined and going through the rigorous academic exercise overseas may be challenging for him......studying overseas is not easy o for those that don't like book.....assignments and quizzes are many o.

Finally, if he is still insisting on studying, he can try career or public colleges and pick one or two year certificate or diploma programs in those colleges.....he should not try four year degree programs so that he doesn't get stuck. For me, I prefer the wife to be the main focus while he bankroll her since money is not an issue except if the wife is not a "book type" or that she is also a dropout. I have seen many business men that sponsored their wives and their kids relocated with wife and mother in law while "Oga" continued with his hustle in Nigeria and regularly visit them.....this is if "Oga" is sure of her woman o......there is a caveat o.
