Why is it that we don't commercialise innovation and inventions in this country? As long as that invention is not patented and commercialised, it won't have any impact on Nigeria. We should be able to benefit, on large scale, from inventions and innovations from our country men. I am sure that prototype invention he designed would be dumped somewhere, same way students projects and innovations are allowed to rot in abandoned buildings in our higher institutions. |
I earlier said it, LP may not have any member left in the national assembly after all the tribunal sittings. They hurriedly rushed their primary elections, bypassing certain electoral act rules which petitioners are using to their advantage. I don't know what Abiodun Johnson, the APC candidate for the Isolo/Oshodi federal constituency is still waiting for. He should use technicalities to "get" back the mandate from the LP guy. If We are to be Objective, Abiodun Johnson, the APC candidate and former representative of the constituency, did extremely well for the constituency in his first term before loosing to the LP candidate. |
Damoche64 made good valid points. Explore scholarships opportunities with the University of Saskachewen in Environment and Sustainability. You are in the right direction for considering fields in Sustainability, climate change and environment. These are the current burning issues in the world, especially within the developed world. Also check out University of British Colombia. They have different scholarships on environment and sustainable architecture. Good luck! |
My children's school hiked the school bus from 40k to 65k per term. Some one with three kids will be paying 195k just for school bus per term. I am still restrategizing......no be me all these proprietors and proprietresses go use cash out for this economic hardship. |
All these ethnic jingoist above should rest naa ..... what is all this? . There are so much brotherly love among Nigerians, especially among the youths. Forget what the politicians are doing to divide this country, coupled with the hate-filled post on nairaland. People should be left to express themselves freely. Those saying that the Yorubas will not do the same to Igbos do not even know history. |
Don't be moved by this crowd.... there are lots of silent majority, who are not supporting this man. Social media popularity does not translate to victory. "Sleepy Joe" may not be getting the needed attention because he is old and not a drama person. Lots of Americans will prefer to return "Sleepy Joe" to the white house than to vote for someone like Trump. Honestly, the world does not need someone like Trump at the Whitehouse at this time. His time has passed. |
sainaF:It is not just Conestoga. Almost all schools in Canada and abroad bombard students with assignments, right from the very first day of classes. The lecturers takes their time to go through each student's assignments. Studying abroad could be discomforting to someone that hasn't been to school for a while or some one that is struggling with understanding concepts and typing of assignments and presentations. |
There may be other pre existing health conditions. I have seen two doctors died of cardiac arrest.....one in Nigeria and the other in US. My health and work -life- balance was the reason I resigned from the usual 9-5 employee work and went solo to be on my own. I needed to take charge of my health, personal needs and career |
Damilare5882:The OP is right......though Canada is still far better than US and UK in terms of transitioning from student to PR. The pace is becoming slower with thousands of graduating students and holders of PGWP, which is about to expire or have expired exploring the same PR option. Some have taken the painful decision to enrol in another expensive studies, just to extend their stay while they explore their options. It is not as easy as it used to be. Prospective international students should be strategic with their study decisions and to be certain of being on the queue for PR. Note that Canada didn't promise anybody direct stay in Canada after studies. You are expected to leave Canada after your studies. The issue of PGWP and PR are all matters of policy, which are not carved on stone. There should not be any expectation from international students to be granted PR by the Canadian government. |
You people should apply wisdom. Your father should not look down on his brother because of his current financial situation. As long as his sanity is still there, he is the "successor to title" of your grandfather's property in the absence of a "Will" from your grandfather. Your father should respect your uncle's position and let the two amicably share the property. Don't join in the fight.....rather be a peace maker. My statement is based on , if you people are Igbo......the patriarchal system in Igbo land is well entrenched and documented as part of people's law and customs under the defunct Eastern Nigeria native laws and customs. |
So sad.....our parents deserves the best of care. I pray to be at my father's bedside at that final moment just to tell him how much I love him and the efforts he made for us. My presence gives him so much relief.....once I hear that his situation has worsen, kia kia, I will fly to the East to chat him up. My presence always provides him with the tonic to come alive. |
Record keeping and attention to details. My father had them, top notch. Despite having just basic Standard 6, which he obtained in 1961, the man can read and write for Africa. Even with his limited education, he was always the secretary in any social association like: Catholic men organisation His village age grade Town union Congress Estate association Market line association Development association. Not forgetting that he is a good communicator and a voracious reader.....these attributes helped shape my love for book and knowledge and suprisenly, my son is fast taking the same traits. He sees me with books and what I do and he always tries to replicate same. |
alexsim:Please act fast and bring your spouse or mum to Canada. Lots of Nigerian students, especially nursing mothers without family support falls into depression over there. A friend's wife doing masters in computer science had to pause her studies for her own sanity and returned back to Nigeria. School abroad will drain you physically and emotionally if you don't have family support or that you have been out of school for a long time. The assignments and course loads could be unnerving and poses a challenge to someone not used to that kind of learning environment. You need all the support you could get while you navigate through this pre natal stage ofyourpregnancy. Post natal stage could even be worse if not well managed. So, let your hubby understand. Leaving his job in Nigeria may be difficult for him but let him explore possibility of taking one year leave of absence without pay just to offer you support. This is part of life abroad that we hardly emphasis on, thinking that every one there is fine. Good luck! |
Nawao! It seems the Judiciary no go gree LP rest. By the time all the election tribunals are done, I am afraid, LP may not have members left again in the national assembly. |
I feel for his children....only God knows the kind of trauma they are going through by being lucked up with their mum in police station. Most Nigerian children do not know what it means to be a child. Majority of the children have been traumatized beyond repair by their immediate environment. |
Is the N250K the money for Omonile Oga, to build house is not what you start with N250K. I thought it was N2.5m down commitment that she made. Don't allow her to hoodwink you o! Go and ask those that have built houses and learn from them. You must have continuous source of fund or else you will have a project that is gulping all your money without end insight. |
Alvin212:You are just pathetic! Go and take your drugs!!! |
Validated:Make una dey rest naa for this nairaland. Everything is not about "we" vs."them". Nairaland should not be turned into a battle field for ethnic jingoists. |
....just as someone said above, why is it that Nigerian governors are always meeting accidents victims on the road? It is funny?? Almost all the governors have met one accident victim or the other and "rescued " them. |
Watch how some goons will come here to lash at the woman and forget about the man. Please men here this: It is your responsibility to provide for your family. Even if your wife is working and earning, it is at her discretion to support or not, and I know that any reasonable woman that has a hardworking husband will always support him. It pains me when I read stories of men relying totally on their woman to foot the family bills. If things are not okay for you, show some actions and intentions to help your situation. An understanding woman will always support you. But when you turn your self to a liability, even to the woman supporting you, you become a liability. The quality of men these days is becoming terribly low. |
......but this bungalow design is lovely.....if you call a typical engineer to transform the plan to reality, you will see a different thing altogether. |
RubyOgex:Explore programs in Social Sciences and health. If you have good O 'level grades at "A" or "c" level, try courses in Social and Human Services. You may explore diploma programs in Social Services Workers, Early Childhood Education, Mental Health and Addiction, Clinical Psychology and in extremely rare case, if you are passionate about nursing, you could give Practical Nursing a chance. However, note that practical nursing is one of the most competitive courses in Canada. Most Colleges requires Maths, English, Biology, and Chemistry while some schools requires just English, Maths and Biology for the two year practical nursing program. Good luck! |
I don't trust Soludo, honestly. These signing contracts may just be for demonstration purposes. Onitsha and Anambra as a whole is in dire need of solid infrastructure....Investment can't thrive or happen in an environment with decrepit or non existent infrastructure. I haven't heard or seen Soludo commissioned a project since he came to power. It has always been flagging off or signing the beginning of one project or the other.... no completed project to his name. |
Clout chaser..... this one is looking for Nigerian subscribers to her YouTube channel |
I saw it coming.....that Oshodi interchange was an over-built. That place doesn't deserve that kind of infrastructure. Government should have built a moderate bus interchange, with canopies similar to what we have in TBS, Lagos Island at a far cheaper rate. Touts, mad men and those on the streets have converted portions of the place to quarters with people defecating every where. That oshodi environment doesn't deserve that kind of edifice. Infrastructures, good environment, decency and decorum makes no sense to an uneducated man. When you prefer infrastructure development to human capital development, the scenario in oshodi is what you get. |
The LP candidate just "stole" that constituency, riding on the back of PO to win. Nobody knew him before, neither has he done anything for the constituency. Abiodun Johnson, the former representative was a performer - he brought solar lights and did lots of empowerment program with Isolo major districts. This is my area and I know what I am saying. It is a pity that he lost! |
He had the courage to come to Nigeria Info FM to beg people for donation so that he could appeal his ban, even in the midst of overwhelming evidence from FIFA.... The man should go and sit down. Nigerians likes being emotional in things even when they are guilty. |
I am shocked that Nairaland Moderator could push this FAKE news to the front page. Reading this will tell anybody that this twitt could not have come from PO. Anyway, this is Nigeria..... Our standard is terribly low in everything! |
I thought it September 16. Anyway, Justice Mary Odili had already informed everyone of the judgment. Kindly accept it as it is and move on. Don't fight for any politician or insult anyone because of them. Kukuma face your legitimate hustle |
I feel you. It is not always an easy decision, especially if you are doing well and already well established. Nevertheless, go with your kids and settle them first. Then, let madam feel you small, , stay with them and survey the life style....you can give yourself a timeline to get done with Nigeria and go join them. You can agree with madam to relocate finally in the next 2,3 or 4 years. But you should always endeavour to visit during summer and spend quality time with family till you finally join them. |
CJStarz:Not only that, the place is notorious for violent crime, communal strife and prune to flooding. Above all, the airport road looks so desolate and abandoned.... very risky at night. The man is as daft as statue. The airport is there wasting away....an airport that should have been a beehive of activities. In property matters, location is key. |
