IpobAntidote:
Do these idiotic Nigerians know that only those that have paid their taxes and filed with the IRS are getting any money from the US govt?

All these noise about getting money from the Nigerian govt is just pathetic and shows the level of shallowness that exist among the so called youths in this country.
I support the govt to give some money to tax paying citizens, which is not a lot in this country.
Guy, you are the real idiot here, you think everyone on nairaland dont know there left from right...

Going by your unreasonable assumption of tax payers only, how many tax paying nigerians has the government reached out to?

I am not sure you are ok.

Let me tell you, probably you dont know... I leave in lagos and I pay taxes, majority of lagosians pay taxes in one form or the other, (both individuals and entities) salary earners pay taxes, even business owners pay taxes (PAYE)... Even in other parts of the country where taxation is not that robust... What has the government done with the various allocations they get from the federal government? You dont expect people to pay tax on nothing, what are they paying taxes on?

All over nigeria, people still pay taxes in one way or the other, no matter how small... (consumption taxes on power, water and a lot of other utilities)

Even you, do you know you pay taxes on the calls you make, the power in your house, water and what have you?...

So on what basis are you passing your judgment?

Power supply in the US is stable and Americans pay for it....

Power supply in nigeria is neither stable or not available at all... (Nigerians pay for it, estimated or prepaid)

They have good road networks in the USA, In Nigeria, what do we have, bad roads...

In US, the systems work, in Nigeria, what have you?

The list is endless...

You better direct your frustration to your greedy leaders and stop attacking nigerians.

You dont have any valid point at all.

Why are they the first to take to the street out of hunger or is this out of greed?

Where is amouteke when you need them most?
As per IGR, you are correct but also note that the SW (lagos expecially) also have the highest number of lazy youths and miscreants who believe its there birth rights to collect something from you in peace or by force without working for you...

You don't like hearing the truth. You would rather be lied to.
The announcement is conditional with an "if"
The consequences of not yielding to the instructions on staying safe as per lock down is the harvest of deaths, Melinda gates also reiterated this warning.
Just like you, Nigerians went for her head.

Hear now!
Stay safe.
The question pple are asking is: what have they put in place to make sure people stay at home comfortably? Absolutely nothing. Electricity is zero, no relief materials, food and groceries are becoming limited and expensive to buy.

See, me I dont expect anything from them anyway, but there are millions of pple out there who cannot survive without going out in a day, I can comfortably take care of myself and family even if it will last for 2 months, but the truth is that those youths who earn a living daily that cannot feed again will soon start coming for people like me and you if something is not done fast, they will come, steel from me and you and also endanger our lives...

A hungry man is an angry man and will do anything to survive...

The pandemic has seriously exposed the rot in the system, its a wakeup call on all our leaders and even the people... Its a time for sober reflection for all our leaders, but No, they will never learn... This country is towing the part of self destruction if care is not taking...

Its high time we come together in respective of tribe, religion and gender and make the system work, our leaders keep taking us for granted by continually sowing the seed of hatred along religion and ethnicity. Unfortunately it is the youths who are suppose to be the leaders of tomorrow that they are using against each other... Abeg make i rest.

E be like say mummy dey hard children to pronounce at that little age...

But my own little research and feelings is that they are most times around there mummy and reasonably no reason to call there mummy... So when I come home home in the evening after close of work, my wife or whoever is playing with them at that point introduces me to them like... "see your daddy, he is back"
This happens every day and it continues to register in there small brain and before you know it, once they sight you (daddy) coming, they call "daddy"

I guess my findings are correct to some extent.

PoliticsRe: Peter Obi: It Is Wrong To Relax Lockdown For Religious Reasons by friday2011(m): 10:22am On Apr 11, 2020
IkeOnyia:
Peter Obi is really a demented imbeciile. He is always speaking from both side of his mouth due to mental depravity.

This is an interview he granted The Punch late last month condemning the lockdown.

Anthony Okafor
A former Governor of Anambra State , Mr Peter Obi , has warned against locking down the country over coronavirus scare, without alternative arrangements to cushion the effects of such action on the masses .
He said whilst all possible measures should be deployed to stop the spread of COVID- 19 , appropriate measures should be put in place to mitigate the suffering of the vulnerable in society .
In a statement by his Media Adviser, Valentine Obienyem, Obi , who was the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 election, said markets and other business ventures should not be closed to further impoverish the poor.
He said , ” There are several millions of our populace who are unemployed . Their means of livelihood depends on daily income which the present situation will definitely worsen . ”
He noted that in locking down the country, such vulnerable people should be factored into government plans , as was the case in other countries , by putting measures in place to cushion the effects of the lockdown on them.
Obi , who expressed gratitude for the efforts of some political leaders , captains of industry and corporate bodies , urged the Federal Government to do more to mitigate the situation, especially for poor Nigerians , as being witnessed in other climes.
He added , “ It would be counter -productive to keep only the elite in mind when taking such far - reaching decisions as closing down markets without having some cushioning measures for the traders . ”
He enjoined politicians , especially legislators , to go back to their constituencies to be with their people at a time like this .
“This is the time to be with your people in your various constituencies , ” Obi said .
He said it did not make any sense for politicians to be observing the stay - at -home in various places outside their constituencies at this trying time , instead of being with their constituents to help their people to find solutions to their problems and challenges .
Obi said that by being in their constituencies to monitor the situation, the elected leaders will be in a position not only to support their people in time of need , but to also properly advise government on how to address the fallouts of government policies.
He called on leaders of all segments of society to make sacrifices and show commitment at this critical period in the country’ s history .

This is the unstable idiot who wanted to become our vice president.
Dear ikeonyia,

If the report on interview of obi that you posted up there is true, then he has not spoken from both sides of his mouth" as you claimed, you will need to go through the interview again and try to comprehend with what he said about lifting of lockdown.

I will advise you get d op's address, meet him and fight the evil together. Very sure the day the family will issue him a quit notice, you will also be there for him, the op is giving you a scenario as bad as this, and you foolishly thinks he should involve himself in such, you think say na clear eye for a man with 6 grown-up children to be fetching water and doing household chores with the knowledge of the wife/mother?

I will advise you to grow up and be wise, the op got the message I passed to him, but if you feel you know it all, contact the op and take up the confrontation, go through the tread very well, over 50% of contributors advised him to mind his business, meaning we are all foolish and you are the wise fellow... I know you sound religious but let me tell you, even the bible says 'wisdom is profitable to direct'

Micky002:
There is this scenerio i usually observe with my landlord and his children which always makes me curious and also raises unanswered question within me. This prompt me to post this here.

My landlord is idoma by tribe and has six grown up children, three boys and three girls. He should be in his late fifties or early sixties. Here is the issue.

This man despite having grown up boys and girls always do his chores by himself while the children will be lazying around engaging in trivial discussions. This man will wash his clothes by himself while his girls, the youngest being twenty years of age will be chatting with friends in the compound. This man will go to fetch water with kegs using a wheel barrow every morning while the boys will sit outside doing nothing.

Meanwhile the water he fetches is used by every member of the house. This man can go up to three to four trips while the boys will be busy arguing about Manchester United and Chelsea with friends.

What baffles me the most is that they see nothing wrong in this because the man doesn't complain and his wife, their mother is also witnessing everything.

My question now is, is this an acceptable norm in their (Idoma) culture? For a father to be doing the house chores while the children will be playing. I'm asking because where I come from, it is unacceptable.
How is that your business op? Dey ur dey naa, abi na free the man give you apartment? Why you con dey use paracetamol for another person headache.
