chess guru: Well I try to refrain from commenting on political things, but this one caught my interest.
Did I support goodluck @ the last election?
The answer is yes
Am I surprised about his performance?
The answer is NO!
At all. I told my sis back then during the election period not to expect much from him. That he may not necessarily be a good president, but may not be a bad one either. I anticipated that GEJ would be very static
Why I did I then support a man like him?
Well the answer is that of all the criminals that came fort, (in as much as I disliked pdp), he looked the most human, and less likely to turn despotic.
Honestly, if confronted with d same choice of "criminalistic" candidates like buhari, etc and etc, I would b once again forced to choice among the least criminally minded among them (because they are ALL criminals).
This is going to be the situation on ground, until our political climate becomes such that real patriots and leaders among the masses with ideas and values are allowed to contest, without being assassinated.
How is Buhari among your list of 'criminalistic' candidates?

xtayle: By being owned in trust by a US Firm, d aircraft can fly anywhere at anytime with minimal documentation per time. If was registered as a Nigeria aircraft, its movement may be restricted for d need to obtain clearance per time.

Its just like having an american passport, u travel to several place visa-free. With a Nigerian passport, u need visa to travel to anywhere outside ecowas.
Thanks for the clarification.
PoliticsRe: SW Youth Should Be Protesting Right Now by funnyx(m): 7:22am On May 01, 2013
The OP is mischievous, protest over what? The convict is a career criminal having served 6 years earlier in connection with a murder case. The sentence handed to him is justified as he's a repeat offender and baring in mind that the sentences are to run concurrently.
So OP carry your wahala or protest somewhere else.

PoliticsRe: GHANA Is Moving Ahead Of NIGERIA, Is Simply Because Islam Has No Place. by funnyx(m): 6:40pm On Apr 30, 2013
Gbawe: Look, the lack of progress of Nigeria is directly related to poor performance from leaders at the federal and State level. How does that have anything to do with Islam? How, for example, does Islam prevent Uduaghan from developing Delta State? Did Islam force Igbinedion to loot instead of developing Edo State? Was Gbenga Daniel forced to loot and pillage his State by Islam? When GEJ stole Nigeria blind at the federal level for 8 years, did Islam cause that? Even extreme prejudice should not blind judgement this much.
Their hatred for Islam is the problem, no matter how much you try to explain they won't reason.
PoliticsRe: GHANA Is Moving Ahead Of NIGERIA, Is Simply Because Islam Has No Place. by funnyx(m): 10:22am On Apr 30, 2013
mekaboy: Well Ghana is ahead of Nigeria and $1 is 160 in Nigeria and $1 is almost 200 in ghana. If Ghana is doing better than Nigeria how come Nigeria currency is higher than that of Ghana?
I suppose Nigeria is ahead of Japan since Nigerian currency will get you more dollars than Japanese yen?
PoliticsRe: GHANA Is Moving Ahead Of NIGERIA, Is Simply Because Islam Has No Place. by funnyx(m): 7:29am On Apr 30, 2013
Michaeljones36: All four of these are lies. Just stop it, it makes you look bad.

Corruption - Ghana is the 6th least corrupt country in Africa, behind Botswana, Cape Verde, Mauritius, Rwands, and Namibia. Ghana is rated as the 64th least corrupt country in the world, that makes it less corrupt than countries like Italy and South Africa. Nigeria is 75 places lower on the list at 139th most corrupt in the world.

Security - Ghana has ZERO active militant groups within it's borders. No Islamic terrorists, no people fighting for oil cake, nothing. Doesn't exist in Ghana. They have crime like anywhere else, but not organized crime like we have here. Just to double check, I typed in "Ghana Militant Group" into Google. All of the results were about MEND and Boko Haram. The Cape Militia is the closest Ghana came to having a militant group, and they were a media hoax.

Politically - Seriously? This isn't even worth talking about. Everyone knows that Ghana has one of the strongest democracies in Africa. Every opposition group claims rigging when they lose. Mitt Romney and Obama both claimed the other side was rigging in the lead up to the election. Just like advanced democracies, after the results of the election were called, every Ghananian accepted the results peacefully. Nobody started a riot, or stared killing their neighbors.

Education - Ghana's educational system is ahead of Nigeria. Their literacy rate is 80% (Naija 71%). Their primary school and secondary school attendance levels are almost double Nigeria. They also have more universities per person than here.

Don't lie about another country. It's pointless.
Also, who told you Cote D'Ivoire was 4x as developed as them?
Thank you jare, Nigerians don't like their ego to be bruised that's why instead of accepting that Ghana is far ahead of Nigeria he went ahead turning round in circles.

Few years ago I was expecting a package to be picked up from Accra and delivered to me in the UK by DHL, the package was delayed in Accra because the DHL office there misunderstood the pick up msg sent to them by their office in the UK. In desperation I rang their Ghana office to explain my plight, the staffs were so courteous, respectful and helpful and in the end they resolve the issue. If I have tried that in Nigeria, I'll be met firstly with very rude and dismissive staffs and may have to send someone personally to their office before anything gets done.
We as Nigerians need to change our attitude right from our homes, at the moment everything is wrong with Nigeria and without us being ready we cannot move forward.

PoliticsRe: Pressure On Tambuwal To Challenge Jonathan In 2015 Presidential Election by funnyx(m): 1:50pm On Apr 28, 2013
mikeansy: I think we need to get out of the habit of pressuring people who dont want to run to contest election

this has been the bain to our current democratic experiment

OBJ was in Jail and had no plans to run and he was plucked from no where
Yar'adua was planning to go back to classroom after Katsina Governorship and we drafted him from No where
Jonathan was not talking about Federal Politics when he was made VP and dumped on the Nation

All of these leaders were clearly not prepared for leadership because they were not thinking about it.

If Tambuwal wants to run let him come out and say so and also tell us his policies!!!! This madness about pressuring people to run for office they are not wishing for is killing our democracy

If Tambuwal wants to run let him grant a press conference and tell Nigerians how he will be better than Jonathan!!!!!
Very sensible comment
PoliticsRe: Igbo Group Swears To Punish Jonathan In 2015 by funnyx(m): 12:23pm On Apr 28, 2013
Gentle Naaz: As a typical, Educated, professional, high class Igbo man, voting 4 an hausa man, idealogically, is risking for an Indirect rule from bokoharam leader( shekau, abi na wetn). I rather vote for a rationale yoruba or Igbo man, for humanity sake
You're a high class igbo man yet you buy into the ridiculous propaganda that all Hausa are Boko Haram? Many igbo that I know are far more intelligent to buy into such cheap propaganda.
PoliticsRe: Igbo Group Swears To Punish Jonathan In 2015 by funnyx(m): 12:20pm On Apr 28, 2013
mikeansy: what some people do not realise is that rigging is like coup-de-tat, you need a level of public support to succeed.

Jonathan did well in 2011 because of strong support from the whole South. If Jonathan looses South West in 2015 he will definitely loose because he has no leg in NW and NE for obvious reasons.

The battleground will be Middle belt . . . with a half hearted or lesser support from Igbos in 2015 compared to 2011 Jonathan is headed for defeat.

If APC select their candidate wisely and lets say Fashola emerge. Fashola is a Yoruba Muslim and will have both ethno-religious advantage and a moral advantage because of his Governance records in Lagos.

before the 2011 election, some of us predicted the outcome of the electoral map as it happened.

The only way Jonathan wins in 2015 is if APC defeat themselves in their own primary and field a Buhari or that sort of figure.

Fashola/VP candidate from Benue, Plateau, Taraba or Adamawa who is a Christain will defeat Jonathan in a landslide.

This is politics 101!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly! While rigging is possible especially as an incumbent, it cannot be done at a monumental level without public support.

berem: You should be more bothered about Frederick Fasheun who is about to tear Yoruba politics apart by licking Jonathan's a$$.I laff in OPC! grin
Jonathan is trying to use thuggery as a means of diluting or diverting SW votes to his favour but SW people already know this. When OPC are collecting their largesse from Jonathan they merely distribute it among themselves, what we want in the SW is development not dolling money out to thugs, Jonathan is on a long thing if he think his tactic will ever work.
PoliticsRe: Igbo Group Swears To Punish Jonathan In 2015 by funnyx(m): 8:15am On Apr 28, 2013
That's why it's not always right to vote based on religious and ethnic sentiments, I hope that 2015 Nigerians will vote for the right candidate by looking beyond tribal and religious sentiment.
PoliticsRe: NCAA Bans Amaechi’s Aeroplane For Non-Clearance by funnyx(m): 8:07am On Apr 28, 2013
berem: Amaechi needs to be taught a lesson simply because Jonathan is scared of loosing votes in Rivers State? C'mon, don't tell me you also reason with your brain stuck in your azz! We are in a Democratic country for fucck sake! Why should Jonathan continue to suppress his opponents? What is he scared of? It is only an Incompetent and clueless leader who bothers about his opponents and that's what he is! INCOMPETENT AND CLUELESS!
Nicely put kiss

Allohrandy: MUMU, I am not going to keep my mouth shut because I have a right to express my opinion in this forum..I dont like it when some selfish Nigerians involve in immigration fraud.. People like her make it difficult for genuine Nigerian students to study abroad. She is among those that make it almost impossible for genuine Nigerian students to get student visa. She got a student visa to study in the UK and she should have been focus in maintaining her student visa status rather than involving in Immigration fraud.. If she had maintained her student Visa status in the UK, she wont have been asked to leave the country. so she should be deported back to Nigeria immediately
I understand your frustration, unfortunately the UKBA talk the talk but don't walk the walk. I don't want to be seen as a sadist but on many occasions I cannot but wonder how and why they deem it fit to grant leave to remain to many with bogus asylum claims, fake marriage and just for having UK born child even when the parents are not UK citizens. I remember how I waited and stay on the legal route for years to get my ILR while seeing many others with no papers calling us mugu. UK govt victimises migrants who are on legal route but welcome with open arms those that arrive on the back of lorries with ridiculous tales of how they escaped being killed.
So my brother if you can't beat them you better join them may be you may be among the lucky ones.
