Good day to everyone in this forum, please I am in desperate need of your advice.

Early 2014 she lost her dad, 2016 she lost her only brother (my uncle) and then the worst happened in 2021,i lost my father which is her husband, and since then God has been faithful, I graduated same year, my elder sister got a good job same year, we got our first family house same with other benefits.

But the problem has been my mum, she's always depressed and always thinking, thinking of my late dad, we have tried our best as the children to make her happy, especially me the first son. Please i need advice on what to do, I really don't want my mother to die of depression 😞.

No offense intended but she seems idle, tell her it is must for her to get out of the house everyday and make some money.

She should think of the line of business she wants to get into, you all can contribute to its planning and actualization.

Some Nigerians are just silly hypocrites.

So she shouldn’t charge Churches for her performance?? When she wants to pay house rent, are you go to pay it on her behalf? Are you going to buy fuel for her? Feed her children? Pay her children school fees.

The people on this trend saying she shouldn’t charge, how many of you have worked and at the end of the month told your employer - “You don’t need to pay me, this month is free?”

She has put time, effort and energy into her craft and she rightfully charge her worth! If you can’t pay go away!

What nonsense double standard is this, cuz it would never cross your mind to tell Davido to lower is price.

My rent is average rent for where i stay, its a two bed flat, i use the other room for home office..

Feeding is N2,000/day.. its not anything out of the ordinary.. tried cooking and spent more with time wasting.

Fuel for car is at the new rate of N500/ltr, my car is a 70ltr car tank..

Auto maintenance is basic brake pads, shocks, service 2mths, tire guage, police pr, tire purchase if any, minor touch ups etc... nothing major.

Fuel for generator is 20ltr/day (2hrs or less daily)

I need help.... how are you people doing it, what am i doing wrong? The rat race is killing me..

Lool I didn’t see Tithe in the list, no wonder your take home is not taking you home. (Some people would come and bash me, here is an opinion from someone whose take home, reaches home and still get energy to waka round the area).

1) Settle God first, 10% (sow on a good ground - try Living Faith Church. After 3 months if you don’t see any God level doings in your life - change church)

2) Fuel for generation - with about 450k you can install a 1.7kva inverter, that should cut your money on fuel by more than half for the next 3-5 years.

3) Rent - since its only you look for a cheaper house. I was aim to pay rent with no more than 2 months salary. In your case its very possible and you would get a good place in a good location. With time, when a better salary earn to pay rent with one month salary.

3) Feeding - 62k can be cut down if you buy groceries in bulk.

4) Health miscellaneous - 5k seems small but you seem like a corporate person, no HMO?

5) DSTV - lol I have paid for this since 2016. Sitting in front of TV is not my thing, well except when i play video games.

6) Outings, restaurant, sit outs and provisions - cut your coat according to your size. You are spending 60k already on food monthly. Remove this.

7) Gift to people - remove this for now, having your finances in other first. This same people won’t help you pay rent when you go broke.

Repair and maintenance- of what? Yes i know something you need to change a bulb or two, buy a extension plug etc. for me its so far apart what i spend on it is insignificant and I don’t allow anything to go bad without repair.


The above should help you cut back by more than 100k

First approach the said neighbor to inquire from him if he is connected to your Gen. You can even record the conversation, if his answer is “No” then he has nothing to fear.

Disconnected your house;, turn the generator to the max. Fire away!

@OP you have his banking details right, make your moves. Lodge a complaint at the EFCC office closest to you.

Write a letter and Submit a copy of that complaint to his bank. There are also other ways to get his location. Just follow up with both and play it cool.

There is this particular woman in my area that drags her little children under sun begging, I usually don’t give beggars money (I can’t have someone using drugs with my money) so i took her to nearby food store, we met the shop owner; expression on the industrious igbo man’s face showed he knew her but he kept mute and took my order.

After buying food stuff of about 4k for this woman, you won’t believe she opened her mouth to say, i would need this (pointing) and that. I was shocked like, you think i am your family member. I just signaled to the man to cost and gave it to her that, that is all she gets.

When she left, the man started talking that is not her fault; she was there just two days before with another man who bought her a month worth of food stuff, he feels she sells it cuz you see her every single day begging.

Well now i no longer give beggars anything. Instead i favor the people with legit hustle with “keep the change”. I found out that they appreciate 100 times more than these people you see begging.

Once i get into government, all these women dragging children on the streets begging. Would be persecuted, have those innocent children taken away. What sort of future, are you setting the child up for. It is evil to say the least.
