Legal redress It's like he doesn't want to graduate in the next 10 years until the case is concluded in court. And he will still lose the case. The lecturer told him to stop and he continued. That's sexual harassment! If the lecturer has accepted his offer, the ethical process still means he should be assigned to another supervisor because the lady supervisor will be compromised in delivering adequate project supervision based on their love affairs. In other words, any angle you look at it. He is destined for another year the moment he went beyond his boundaries. |
crackhaus:I think the woman has moved on too but the husband is yet to come to reality. |
Ilekokonit:This is it. Laws against violence doesn't have "For women only" written on them. Men should know this and use the laws when a woman is the violent one. |
He did well not retaliating. The wife's frustration is understood, because he missed their fertility appointment. Though the wife was wrong to have slapped him too. He should go back home, explain why he missed the appointment and apologize. But he should be firm with her that the slap is not necessary, and must never be repeated for whatever reason. Physical violence or abuse from any gender must not be tolerated |
Lol. Interesting. It's like the wife has already moved on. Though there are many details left out, but based on the information you provided. Since the man is now back to his job, he should tell the wife to come back home. If the wife refuses, then he should end the marriage legally and remarry. Separation of 2 years is too long for a marriage. |
Long distance marriage is not always easy to manage. I see compatibility issue here. The wife wants to practice and live in western world and the man believes in building career in Nigeria. The truth is that your brother should not be pressured to just abandon his career in Nigeria to join the wife without proper plans. And there was nothing he could have done to stop the wife from moving to the UK since that is what she wanted. If he decides to move to the U.S. or UK, he should complete all professional examination required of him to practice in the new country while he is still in Nigeria. So that when he arrived the new country, he can begin his professional career immediately. He should never relocate only based on a woman's promise. Otherwise, he will regret it. Like some people are already saying, the woman might already be tired of the marriage, going by all her threat. If he decides to stay back in Nigeria, he should just let the woman go. 99pct chance the woman will not want to come back to Nigeria. |
Emotional, verbal and physical abuse are all bad for everyone and should not be tolerated. No man or woman should endure any of these abuse. We all know many men tend to be guilty of physical abuse while many women tend to be guilty of verbal abuse. Both parties can be guilty of emotional abuse. No man or woman should endure abuse. Men should also speak out or use legal system to help themselves if they find themselves in any of these abuse "For women only" is not written on the laws that settle emotional, verbal or physical abuse. Everyone can use the laws for protection if need arises. |
You saw all the red flags in courtship and you went ahead to marry her. You were full time bread winner and she was full time housewife. She does not respect you. She does not love you. You cannot even ask her a simple question without receiving nasty altitudes. You have 4 kids together, but if you ask your kids to do something, she challenges your authority. You have put up with this for 16 years! Oga, marriage is not by force. If marriage cannot make you happy, it's better you are single. See, that woman will not change. You deserve a better and peaceful life. There are still many good women out there that will do you better. Life is short to be endured with an undeserving partner. I have witnessed this type of marriage before where the woman only married the man out of pity, with no elements of love or feelings involved. The man suffered in the marriage for close to 10years until the woman brought in another man. That was when the man left the marriage and seeked for divorce. The affected man married another woman 2 years later and has been happier since. |
I don't understand the west. You hate Russia, you sanctioned everything from Russia but you want Russian gas. You also want to dictate how much Russia should sell their gas to you while you cripple all means to buy the gas through dollars and euro. Russia shut off her gas and you start crying victims. |
Ladymaceral:Congratulations Madam! I can see you are doing well ![]() |
Hahahaha! One of the reasons men should appreciate women in their life. Thumbs up to all mothers! |
NotsonewMary:Oh. I see. |
Boofrenzy:The co-sponsor must meet the income requirements after adding you to the number of people in their household. If they meet the income requirements, they should fill the form and give you their documents |
fedo:I reply you because I think there is an important information you might need. F2A is current at the moment and might remain current for the foreseeable future. IR1 has no visa limits, therefore no priority date to be watching. But one thing very important to switch is that if you enter as a wife of a citizen on GC, you will be due to file for US citizenship in 3 years, but if you enter as wife of a Permanent Resident, you will have to wait for 5 years before you can apply for citizenship. I think it's very advantageous to switch to IR1 at NVC now before they schedule your embassy interview. |
drbabsok:Meaning you are going through consular processing for your final stage. All the best! I wanted to drop a hint but you will not need it since you already have a job waiting for you in the US. |
semmyk:Very good summary. Thanks. |
drbabsok:Solid! Well done! Is this the attorney's website? https://www.ellisporter.com/ |
NotsonewMary:Using this link https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ Nebraska is on average faster than Texas at the moment for NIW. Although, some individual cases are decided earlier or later than the average time. I have seen people getting approved in 2 weeks or within 3 months without premium processing, and I have seen people not approved until 14th months. Another thing that cause delay sometimes is concurrent applications. The current process of managing concurrent filling at USCIS involves sending applicants files through multiple service centers, thereby adding to the I140 decision time. As a result, it's advisable not to do concurrent. |
sweetman2022:And you want to force this madeup down everyone's throat? |
sweetman2022:A fiance that never know or visited his girlfriend house before engagement? And all of sudden decided to visit unannounced? And a girlfriend that really want the relationship and decided to keep such living environment a secret to her "fiance" This story self cannot sell in Nollywood. |
OkoRemi2023:I don't even understand why people still bring their family matters to nairaland these days where children, frustrated misogynists and misandrists will only make their matter worst. Are there no more elderly and experienced people in real life to seek good advise from? If you are looking for advise on how to raise children, look around you for good parents raising their children in a good way to seek your advise from. If you are looking for advise on marriage, do same. Look for experienced and married people in real life to advice you. |
Women defenders are here. And they blindly defend without sense. They are just looking for every avenue to blame the man here, up to not seeing anything wrong in raising a child in a hotel environment and a 6 years old boy picking locks as being "handy" |
Remove honorable from this equation. Honorable thing to do in our culture is not having children without marriage On preferable, it depends on individual situation. No one answer fits all in this case. |
westlius:Mind your business. Stay away from their affairs. It's like you dey eye the married woman. |
Made up story to invite your fellow misogynist and misandrist to feast on. And I can see some of them already arriving. You people no dey tire? |
Irupetepete:It's like you are new to this forum. There are some people you don't reply when it comes to man and woman issues on this forum. Those monikers that have turned their real life relationship frustrations to man-hating and woman-hating, but hiding understand feminism and redpillar. |
OP, since she has agreed, collect your kids. Get a nanny to help you stay with them when you need help. With time, you will adjust and get used to it. If you are traveling or you will stay overnight for any reason, take them to stay with your mother. If you ever decide to re marry, be very careful of the type of woman you roll with, because many women are better off being single. |
drbabsok:Congratulations. Good luck with your adjustment process! Please can you share the website of the attorney here for folks to consider when looking for attorney to retain? |
OP, though this your story looks superstory but let me just pretend like it is true. See, all parties pretend during courtship, most especially when they want something out of the relationship. So, in most cases, you don't truly know your partner until you are married to them. For some women, you don't truly know them, even in marriage until your finance status is in bad state. For your wife, I think you have seen her true colors, anytime you start struggling financially again, the peace you see now might disappear. For the side chick, you will have to take her through some tests. Pretend to her that you have started struggling financially again. Everything that you and your wife have fought over in the past, throw them at her and see her reactions. Remember, any red flag is what you are looking for. If she didn't show any red flag, then you have found the good one. |
OP, please stay off marriage biko with that your altitude towards your own father. If you can disrespect your father, you will even beat up your mother or father-in-law. |
See this one bringing disrespect of her father to the public. So, we should clap for you ba ? |
Studymore123:Yes. It's easy if one can get a willing employer to sponsor, and without killing conditions. But if someone has enough solid achievements, I always advise them go through self petition. By so doing, no employer can take you do yanga or shakara |
