deejay_harry1: these are the faults one encounters gradually with an mtk device... i always warn against this.. not only tecno, but all mtkThat is not true! You encounter such with gadgets having other chips too. I have seen popular brands with popular chips DOA (dead on arrival). The problem is not only the fault but the handling of the whole issue. The Nigerian system doesn't help matter at all. It is not always very easy, and/or straight forward to get a warranty issue resolved in Nigeria. |
saintneo: UK is the only country that runs TV licence at about £140 year per owner for a maximum of about 15 TVs. In addition TV licence covers any LIVE program aired in the UK; in other words, you are not permitted to watch any live video broadcast using your TV, Computer(Desktop and Laptops), Tablets, Phones, YouTube, Internet, anything LIVE. The UK is not the only country that does that. As a matter of fact, there are 3 method of funding used in Europe. State media group are funded with levies, while private Broadcasting are funded on either subscription fees or through Advertisement. I do not know what the constitution says about the funding of broadcasting corporations in Nigeria, but I know the local government have been collecting radio and tv fees as far as I can think. I remember in the 70/80s that they always come in your house to control if you have paid. If you haven't paid, your TV set would summarily be confiscated. The old badagry local government (Ajeromi/Ifelodun, Ojo, Badagry?) used to be rigorous with collecting the fees, while the old Mushin LGA (Somolu, Kosofe) was not as rigorous. saintneo: However, bringing this culture to Nigeria is exploitation. We hardly have good programs aired by our local stations. So why should an LGA embark upon this kind of idea? I think the questions you are asking above are the right way to go about it instead of shouting APC are rogues like some young people here are doing. I think the money should not go to the local governments, rather the broadcasting organisations. |
...will be ruled by the APC, and Lagos State of Nigeria by the PDP come 2015. My reasons are according to the APC and millions of Nigerians, PDP Governments have been a waste. I want to see how the APC would be able to transform Nigeria. And I wish that the PDP takes over in Lagos, because according to the Lagos PDP and millions of Lagosians, APC in Lagos has only been an elitists government. I wish for a government of the masses for Lagos. Obanikoro, over to you. What do you think people? |
Bandit C.:You are probably not familiar with Nigeria. It is a crime infested place. Trust is a virtue that is really hard to get in Nigeria. Those who shout God the loudest would be the one to scam you. They will still have the effrontery to go "sow" part of the fraud money to "God" in their various religious houses. By the way, I too was scratching my head about what he meant by "made in Korea" being fake. I mean by that statement, Samsung, a Korean company would be fake itself. |
kalufelix: blacks are taking over this world... dats 1 tin I knowHow and when are blacks taking over the world when the most populous black Country in the world is presided over by a "visionless dumbo"? Please tell me how you're taking over the world when a black nation can barely generate 24hr electricity all year round? Tell me how you're taking over the world when you can not even provide the basic things of life for your citizens? Tell me how you're taking over the world when your leaders are puppets in world politics. Anyway, I have nothing against your dream, as a black man myself, I support it. However, being a realist, I know Africa has a long way to go. Nigeria has even a longer way. |
tony9k: While it is a big challenge to prevent individuals from displaying racist tendencies the major issue is how the law or governments respond to such behaviour. In the two countries it is a crime to be racist and there have been numerous cases of prosecution. Can we say the same thing about the law in African countries on display of tribal tendencies or nepotism. It does not appear to be a criminal act. The tribal comments displayed on NL is unbelievable. Just a food for thought. You are a wise man! Tell them! A US President or a British Prime Minister would have resigned if he/she had said a part of the population of his Country is the bed rock of his government. Nigerian societies are in many aspects very homophobic and unenlightened. |
yunglykmine: Nigeria remains a truly blessedAburo, no sheating (cheating) o. Haha, Okun chop two blessings as Yoruba people and again as Okun. This is not fair! Ko buru sha, adura temi naa ni wipe, ki Eledumare bukun orilede Naijiriya. Ki o bukun gbogbo awon ahon ati eya kan-an-kan ni Naijiriya. Ki o bukun awa Yoruba, agaga dede awa oma Ilaje. |
jmoore: OBJ is from SS/SE that's why he gave Bakassi to Cameroon?Obasanjo did not give Bakassi away to Cameroon, because Bakassi was Cameroons. Nigeria was administering it illegally. Anyway, if you feel Bakassi belongs to Nigeria, you can as well send your Nigerian army to Bakassi to grab it back. Abi if person dash your thing out without your consent, you suppose fit claim am back now. Hold Obasanjo by sokoto and drag him to Paul Biya and force them to revoke the agreements they both signed. Afterall, the Commander in T(c)hief of the Nigerian armed forces is a south south man. |
six one: how many times this mumu don update her phone ota? Mrs follow follow. BTW China and korea, which one has a better market and economy? brainless children. China has a bigger Market and Economy than Korea (South), but the Korean economy is more developed and advanced than Chinas. The Chinese have however really caught up, but they are not yet as wealthy as Koreans on a per head basis. |
naturalwaves: Brilliant! Your analysis is nearly impeccable. These are the kind of analysis we need on this type of forum not those types that sound like something from someone that has never crossed the four walls of a school.I ain't saying this cos it favours Tecno overall but because it is unbiased and clear for all to see. Techno may beat Samsung on paper by comparing these specifications. However, if you have worked with the OMAP and MTK chip side by side as daily drive, then you will understand. Try to work with the Samsung and Techno products for a month, and come back with a honest feedback. You will be surprised how inferior that Tecno really is. There is a reason why Samsung is a global player, and Tecno is (still) a local gamer. |
kalufelix: enlighten them brother... na black mentality dey worry them No, he is not enlightening anyone, rather he should enlighten himself. Whether Samsung or Apple or Nokia, it doesn't matter, because most of these phones are assembled in China, India etc. There is a marked quality difference between Tecno and Samsung. Besides, Samsung got a name, and that for a reason. Tecno is cheap because they actually use cheaper parts. You just can't compare a Samsung to a Tecno. The difference is verrrrry CLEAR. |
indigold2010: ... I wasn't paid to say all this. Samsung won't pay u to say all this, their device speaks for itself. I wil still say buy tecno if u can't afford Samsung, it still gives u a taste of Android Samsung may not have paid you to write all these, but to say Samsung won't do such is a fallacy and a major evidence that you are not conversant with the development in the world of technology. Samsung has indeed been found guilty to pay people to bad mouth their competitors. And the other evidence that you're lacking in information is your allusion that Apple sued them for their software innovations. If you were in the know, you won't have written such an ignorant accusation. Perhaps you should read more about the real legal tussles between Apple and Samsung, and Nokia and Samsung instead of relying on Computer Village Square talk. |
Decryptor: I read the news earlier on this morning. To tell you the truth, Hausa people are not meant to drive vehicles for any reason. They break the rules of driving, reckless, and flout traffic laws and try to beat checkpoints. They are better off pushing carts and riding donkeys. Not only Hausa people if you are sincere are not worthy to drive a vehicle. As matter of unfallacious fact, the overwhelming majority of vehicle driver in Nigeria are CLUELESS about driving. A lot of the accidents in Nigeria are mainly due to the inadequacies of the road users and the lackadaisical traffic and general law enforcement seen in Nigeria. Nigeria has sadly no institutions of state. Every damned thing is wallowing in corruption. |
XLR8: ASSUMING THEY WERE TERRORISTS FOR REAL. I TRUST OUR BRITISH COUNTERPARTS LIKE THE CIA OR FBI. THEY'LL JUST TAG THE CAR SO AS TO LEAD THEM TO THE OTHERS. GUESS IT HAS BEEN LONG THOSE GUYS SHOT LAST.MTCHWW.UNDERDEVELOPED FERIFERIYour British counterparts? Apart from the FACT that those 2 listed Organisations are not BRI'ISH, they never are a counterpart of the Nigerian Millitary, specifically the NA. Please don't take your MOVIE experience for REAL World experience. |
slydog: The op should change the topic of the tread, a balanced budget is one where recurrent and capital expenditure are equal. That's very wrong. A balanced budget is one where your earnings equal your spending. A budget that is not balance need to be balanced, and there are several ways to achieve that e.g. Borrowing or selling off Governments assets. When you earn more than you spend, then we talk of Budget surplus. |
Csami: Shattap there! Snake wey jam me one on one pursue me for no good reason. Anytime u see am, try reason with am You could have told your story without an insult. Telling him to shut it is not really an intelligent counter move. Besides, the person you are shutting up is not even your mate. You young fellows should learn how to argue issues without resorting to insults. |
patriotic007: In countries where matured democracies are practiced, the opposition join hands with the ruling party after the elections to move the country forward,....But in Nigeria the opposition fights the ruling party for every seconds that makes up the 4yrs,....this is not good for development because the ruling party spends useful time and resources in fighting the opposition back, thereby neglecting some of its core duties,....At the end the masses are at the recieving endIn what countries does that happen? Could you be kind to give one or two examples? FYI, the parties are termed OPPOSITION because they OPPOSE the ruling party. You Nigerians loves to talk about what you know little or nothing about like you are thesed in them. I believe most time when the opposition and ruling parties join together to work out a common solution in these socalled matured democracies, the country's existence had been threatened e.g. War. And even at that, an incompetent Government would still be made to resign. |
Goddex: Yea, really, which is better managed between Abuja (GEJ & PDP) and Lagos (Fashola/Tinubu & APC)? Remember, Lagos was again recently ranked 4th worst city to live in in the world after 14yrs of the duo in power. It is still very dirty and cannot boast of basic pipeborne water as most cities despite huge IGR.Abuja, despite not being overcrowded and the very huuuuuuuuge federal allocations, still battles with providing the amenities you are criticizing Lagos for. Actually, no Nigerian political party has done the worth of the money they administer in Government. They are all mediocres! However, GEJ (the PDP) is the epitome of wastefulness and mediocrity. Some call him clueless and they may not be far from the truth. Watch his meeting with Obama, his interviews with CNN's Amanpour (before he began acting as and after he became President), his recent presidential chat (common stealing is not corruption) with Nigerian journalists etc. That guy is just not worth to be a president. Even Shagari was not this daft. Concerning the topic, I do not think Fashola has anything to learn from Jonathan. If Jonathan indeed has been tolerant and harmonious, his PDP party would not have witnessed the rift it's gone through. There is absolutely nothing to learn from Jonathan. |
Awolowo has always been labelled a secessionist, that he did not believe in one Nigeria. However, he has actually articulated in many interviews and speeches he made, his believe in the singleness of the Nigerian entity albeit with more power to the federating units. Watch... An Interview with Obafemi Awolowo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGxtVhpBAr0 Chief Obafemi Awolowo: Quality Leadership https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIXLM_ezptU |
Okiki_Oluwa: In Jos, Plateau State, there are:Ha haa, omode yii, you are a "LIAR" o, o l'aya gan ni. Wo bi o se ng fun awon omo Sodeke l'owo. Abi ara Egba ri 'wo wa? |
SugaryBelle: They didn't tell us what the man did.Ofcourse you were told what he did, except you did not pay attention while reading. Or perhaps you did not even read the article at all. I'd advise you read it again, and the offence committed would show to your face atleast 2 times in the article. As a clue, look for the year 2007 and see what happened after that. |

greatgod2012: This man Ngige is only seeking for sympathy votes with this tactis. In contrary, Nigerians, averagelly speaking, are not very bright. It is not very difficult to manipulate and convince them. Nigeria is a country full of God fearing people... Now, that's a lot to think about. |
haibe: We really need fashola to become president, in two years nigeria will become at least like Ghana. In an ideal society he could become the president, but I'm afraid not in Nigeria. Even though he has his flaws, I really wont mind him or anyone like him becoming the president. However, him becoming the president alone wont get things solved, because Nigeria is a terribly difficult country to administer. There must be a total overhaul of the system. Duties and obligations must be completely spelt out and due sanctions meted out to anyone found not doing his duties. |
obowunmi: Let Nigeria privatize airports. I think Nigeria should either privatise everything or reform it political sytem entirely. The current setup does not promote diligence, honesty, sincerity to duty etc. |
Joshthefirst: neo-colonialism?No, he/she ist not racist to his own people. Overwhelming numbers of Nigerians actually behave as portraited, even the educated ones. If you go through Nairaland threads, especially the political section, you will see them ampfully. Nigerian case is not just about bad leadership, the followership is equally yoked in barbaric behaviour. |
Obiossy: Beauty is in the eyes of the beer holder,..We puro! All women at Oktoberfest look gorgeous to me after 2 Maß. |
Debhari Jones: This is soooooo true. So there's me and my friend and I'm supposed to be the prettier one but she always seems to get more attention.....So annoying!Tun iwa e se omo mi... |
god_of_music: Hmmmm. . . Where can i download the songWrong question! The right question should have been: Where can I buy the song?! The song just did not create itself through a magical ABRacadabra; money and time were spent to produce it. Appreciate the effort of the Artists by paying for their work. You too wont like it if you worked and werent paid. Thank you! |
ona2: can any body help outDo you speak Yoruba? If you do, what is "WAY, ROAD, PATH etc. pp." in Yoruba? The ona in your name has to do with the DEITY of the WAY (TRAVELLER's PROTECTOR), rather than the road itself protecting you. For instance, in ONAFADEKEMI, there is the ROAD, the CROWN, and the YOU being protected/cared for. ONA cared for YOU with the help of the CROWN. This means the OLUONA (the Gods) cared for YOU through the CROWN (OBA = KING), which could be understood to mean that you had a SAFE journey. |
