I only agree with number 8. The others have not existed since the 90s.

These days people will even advise a lady to walk away from a marriage especially a violent one and she will still get love and support.

And generally, people are not as close minded as before.

Many people here feel there is a silent competition between a husband and wife.

I believe in marriage, you are meant to have each other's back where nobody will even bother to think about head of houseship.

When there is love, understanding, communication, things will run smoothly. You fight and trash it out but you always know that you are on the same side.

But what i see here is men trying to proclaim their head of houseship and use their authority to their advantage and women trying to fight for their rights and privileges.

You all should better stay single instead of carrying this attitude into marriage.
Family › Re: The Rate At Which Married Women Cheat Is Becoming Outrageous by ImaIma1(f): 4:43pm On Sep 25, 2018
Women take all the crap when their husbands are cheating especially the ones that sleep with everything female around including maid, cook, gatewoman, wife's sister, cousin, etc.

Why can't the men take it too?

Nigerians Lets be honest,

This guy is saying the truth.

Yes he might have his own way of saying things that alot of you faulting him might see as wrong.

But with the way nigeria is going who ever needs to fix this country must be ready to take the bull by the horn.

Nigeria right now needs a very tough hand to set things right.

Why do you think God also went in hard on the pharaoh of egypt just so the people he made slaves for 400 years can be set free.

Yes Sowore might not come in a package some of us are expecting but to be frank, I have so much hope in him than any other presidential candidate I have seen and I wish Nigerians can just give him a chance because really what do we have to loose as a nation that has not been lost already.
A president has to be someone that is smart and unassuming. He doesn't have to let everyone know what he is thinking and should be able to use words miserly.

Sowore obviously lacks the wisdom and maturity to lead a country. He is like a child just ranting aimlessly with a tendency to throw childish tantrums and display his excesses.

With the way he is going, he might never get to that seat

It's very easy to invent sweet, logical and irrefutable examples....but how many of such cases do we have in our society?
Go to major cities you will find girls in their thousands staying on their own, many don't have any form of employment.
They will leave their parents house in another city and relocate far from them.
Then leave them alone. Or how does it disturb or affect you. Face front and date the ones in their father's houses or with family.

The person in my example is now married obviously to a man with a healthy mindset.

Really? How?
Imagine someone i know whose parents relocated outside Lagos while her job was in Lagos. What should she have done? Relocate with them because she doesn't want to be tagged whatever you have tagged them.

This kind of posts are depressing and pitiful because i just wonder how shallow and narrow minded one can be to actually cook up this baseless writeup.
Family › Re: I Need Advice Before Taking The Huge Step Into Marriage. by ImaIma1(f):
That fairy tale kind of love can give you serious headaches. You will be loving and the guy will be showing you "pepper" in the name of love.

Your bf is a rare type...a man that can love you even without sex in the equation. Most guys these days will do anything to get in your panties...like fake stomach pains or tell you to prove you love them by having sex and start sulking or throwing tantrums till you succumb.

You have dated him and seen his great qualities. But if you don't think you are the one for him, please free him and don't string him along and waste his time so that he can find someone who will truly appreciate and love him.
I just hope you don't regret later when it is too late. Because when you fall into the wrong hands and experience serious heartbreak, you will start wondering why you let a good man go(assuming he is all you described).

But then, maybe it is good for you to experience the bad so that you can appreciate the good. So that when next you are lucky to come across another guy like your bf, you will grab him without hesitation.

They say that experience is the best teacher but someone once said that it doesn't have to be your own experience. You can learn from the experiences of others around you.

Also would he relinquish some authority to her since she is now doing his job with him.

Don't mind these men. They don't want to enter kitchen to cook, they don't want to scrub and clean house, wash clothes or go to market but they want women to be co-breadwinners.
scammers everywhere.
Lol...they just love that authority and the submission aspect.

ZIMDRILL:
its not like women are now supposed to provide

there have been always supposed to provide just like men, but you need to check into history how colonisation messed up our ways, then look into how familys started to be run when men where now working for whites aka colonisers

men solely started to provide for the family as land had been taken away and no free movement for wives to gather food like before

so men took advantage of being the only family provider and women believe that he can provide everything and this made some women idle and wait for husband to be the only providers

at the same time men took advantage of be sole providers and abused women becoz he is the one who brings food on the table, the women cant leave the marriage as husband is the sole provider

to understand some of the problems we have nowadays you need to look into history how we used to do it, what made things change

its not a matter of reliquishing responsibilties its a matter of understand your situation as husband and wife and trying what works for you at the present time than trying to use what worked for your parents, circumstances change due to time and development of the human kind
You have still not answered the question.

Now that women are supposed to work like men and provide for the family, should they also be solely responsible for the chores and caring for the children? Or the men should also share that responsibility

So since women are now supposed to provide for the family instead of sitting like broiler chicken, do you also think men should cook for the family and wake up at night to care for baby like mothers do?
Do you think they should relinquish some of their authority to the wife since they are both co-providers?
This question @ zimdrill

I'm glad you finished with the closing paragraph. They should share custody because they both own the child equally.

But most women refer to a child as "my child" even while talking to the child's rather. Or most women think they love the child more than the father.
But in some cases, the court rules that a parent gets full custody while the other has visiting rights. It is always done in the child's interest based on who will be able to give the child the necessary love and care.

In this case, whizkid may not be able to raise the child properly because his lifestyle might not accommodate the child's development. What he would want to do is give the child to his family. But a court will first consider either parents as the first options before considering an aunt, grandma, etc.
