When you get married, your wife comes first. Even your mum will tell you. A wise woman will tell her son but so many mothers are manipulative of their sons.

Help when you can after you move out. And don't move to a place close to your family house.

I don't understand why my mum or mother inlaw will sleep on my matrimonial bed. Personally I don't fancy it.

There's a guest room, let both mother's stay there, you and your wife and child stay in your room.
Exactly my point. He shouldn't leave his matrimonial bed for any of them. They can use the guest room.

Is there any reason why her mum needs to stay in the room with her?

My husband and I slept in the same room with our baby from the first day. Grandma slept in another room

Ma,please try and understand that times are hard and we are only managing, I'm not uncomfortable with their visit...I'm just saying wife should be in the best position to talk to her siblings on how they handle things in the house due to the present situation...the whole house isn't full of supplies of what we need...I also have 3 kids.

Example: Reason why she was scolded was the fact that I came back home from work last night only to meet 2 of her sisters eating with 2 piece of meat each when my own kids only eat one as well as myself.

I wasn't joking when I said we are managing...was I wrong to scold my wife for that so she would know the best way to handle the house so they can cut it down?
Oh ok. I see your point.

I think your wife needs to stop putting up an appearance like there is plenty at the jeopardy of you and your children especially as she knows the situation is tight at the moment.

She is serving them 2 pieces of meat and when the meat finishes, you and your children will have to eat your food without meat because of her indiscretion.

Women should be wise and be able to manage resources. If she jokingly tells her siblings not to go near her pot of soup and she serves it herself, i doubt they will feel bad.

Discuss with her and try to reason with her to see things as they are. The situation is temporary. Tell her that when things get better, she can give them five pieces of meat or better still, kill a cow and give them to take home.

And tell her you trust her to be able to handle things without you getting involved and looking bad.

And dishing out food from the same pot you eat is not an offense. However, your wife should not allow anyone just go to the pot without permission.

I really don't understand. Someone explain.

Op it seems to have an issue with your wife's siblings. It is not just about dishing food.

It is something you should tell your wife that you do not like it. I don't see why you have to scold her for it.

If you have a sister who is close to your wife and usually goes to the pot when she visits, will you have a problem with it?

Try to cut yourself some slack and not be too serious.

She agreed to it even if she was not ok with it. She eventually left the marriage. She couldn't even tell family why she left. She just said he was beating her.

Even if you were her son, moving out at 25 is not a bad thing. She may be sad at first but eventually she will understand especially when you explain how the stress is taking a toll on you but still visit often and spend time with her and her family.

You can get a place and pay for a year in case you have to travel. Doing that trip from mainland to island and back everyday can real reduce one's life span.

However, if you feel you can handle it for another year and are sure the traveling will click, then save the money.
Family › Re: Can I Do Court Marriage With Her? She Has A Girl by ImaIma1(f):
You can marry her as long as you love her. She is no different from a lot of girls that don't have children. The difference is that she had the child rather than committing abortion.

Her having a child doesn't make her loose. Everyone makes mistakes.

Just a piece of advice.

First off, Marriage isn't everything, in fact marriage is not an achievement, I don't know the fuss about marriage in this part of the world.

Secondly, please never think of settling down and raising kids when you know you are not living comfortably yourself, don't bring kids into these world to suffer just because you want to feel among the married..

Lastly, work on yourself first, it's never too late, make yourself comfortable, and by that I mean move out of your parents' house, then you can then think of settling down..

I'm just 19, and I'm tired of living with my parents.. You should too wink
I don't think you have any life experience to qualify you to give advice for an important issue like this.

Your view about marriage is still developing. As you grow older, you will understand it better.
Family › Re: Family House by ImaIma1(f): 10:35am On May 19, 2018
What's the rush? You are not even ready financially and even physically to settle down.

Staying in the family house is ok if your privacy as a couple can be respected and assured. But i doubt that can happen in a "face me i face you" setting. Family and neighbours will interfere.

So you need to get well, get a source of income and work towards moving out. Your girlfriend wants a better place and maybe you need that push to do better.

Please don't hold her down if she cannot wait for you to arrange yourself.

You and your wife should stay in your room. Your mum and mum inlaw can stay in the guest room.

Your baby should stay with both of you in your room. Advise your wife to put the baby in his or her own bed from day one while both of you sleep in your bed.

I don't see why you should leave your room when there's a guest room.
