The perception that Igbos,or indeed any other ethnic group, envy the people of the Niger-Delta for their oil, is utterly fatuous. No sane person looks at the oil-rich regions and says,"I wish this oil exploration was going on in my community". To believe otherwise,is a sad case of rectalcranial inversion.Sadly, many are suffering this inversion |

He is usefull as a bargaining chip.He should be released as part of negotiatitions with the militants |
We all have respect for the likes of Iweala,Akunyili,Ezekwesili,e.t.c so this has nothing to do with her gender. If a male barber was to emerge as Speaker,we would question his suitability for the job. |
I don't mind at all, Eto is 25 he still has like 5 good years ahead of him, Henry has 3 good years at most left, make them bring the deal jareYou believe am? ![]() |
Why u no try ship? |
Imani:How is that sexist?I'm just pointing out that the arduos task of hairdressing places one in good stead for legislating |
"He urged young wealthy Nigerian, who have made money in the country, to spend part of such money by marrying more wives. " a quote from Obasanjo excerpts.I think its plausible that it was a tongue-in-cheek comment ![]() |
And you know that Nigerian women are very difficult women. If you can fix their hair satisfactorily, you can fix anything on earth ![]() |
MAMAJAMA: Attack the messenger |
cerrutti:I guess there are parallels with Nancy Pelosi who is similarly out of her depth. I guess fixing Nigerian women's hair must have given her the neccesary experience to be a legislator. Are there parallels btw hairdressing and legislating ? |
I no go law school for Naija o,so no include me for Naija lawyers Seriously, lawyers in Nigeria are the most ethically sound professionals,so I would be happy if we had more lawyers in Govt. Her CV is underwhelming . . . I'm not a credentialist but there is nothing about her that inspires confidence |
Utterly underwhelming. Not particularly well educated, being euphemistic here. . . Is this really the best we can get? I missed the part that she was previously a beautician.Great, the culture of mediocrity. |

The new minister's wife had a baby. The minister appealed to the congregation for a salary increase to cover the addition to the family. The congregation agreed that it was only fair, and approved it. When the next child arrived, the minister appealed again and the congregation approved again. Several years and five children later, the congregation was a bit upset over the increasing expense. This turned into a rather loud meeting one night with the minister. Finally, the minister stood and shouted out, "Having children is an Act of God!" An older man in the back stood and shouted back, "Rain and snow are Acts of God, too, and we wear rubbers for them!" |
I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump off. So I ran over and said, "Stop! Don't do it!" "Why shouldn't I?" he said. I said, "Well, there's so much to live for!" He said, "Like what?" I said, "Well, are you religious or atheist?" He said, "Religious." I said, "Me too! Are your Christian or Buddhist?" He said, "Christian." I said, "Me too! Are you Catholic or Protestant?" He said, "Protestant." I said, Me too! Are your Episcopalian or Baptist? He said, "Baptist!" I said, "Wow! Me too! Are your Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Lord? He said, Baptist Church of God!" I said, "Me too! Are your Original Baptist Church of God or are you Reformed Baptist Church of God?" He said, "Reformed Baptist Church of God!" I said, "Me too! Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1879, or Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915?" He said, "Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915!" I said, "Die, heretic scum!" and pushed him off. |
Lets laugh at religiosity. The story of the Atheist and the Bear. An atheist was walking through the woods. "What majestic trees"! "What powerful rivers"! "What beautiful animals"! He said to himself. As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing in on him. He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer. He tripped & fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right On top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him. At that instant the Atheist cried out, "Oh my God!" Time Stopped. The bear froze. The forest was still. As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky. "You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident." "Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer"? The atheist looked directly into the light, "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps You could make the BEAR a Christian"? "Very Well," said the Voice. The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke: "Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen." |
Isn't she lovely? ![]()
|
laudate:Surprise!!! ![]() |
The judge called her to appear in court.Thence,he will decide whether to send her back to jail. The reality is that,if she wasn't who she was,she won't have been incarcerated in the 1st place. |
@Laudate We can't all be misguided.Have you considered that there might be some truth to the accusation. |
He urged young wealthy Nigerian, who have made money in the country, to spend part of such money by marrying more wives.Probably was joking ![]() |
We already have a thread that deals with this: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-5922.0.html |
@Lordimpaq Fabregas is a Spaniard who grew up a Barca fan.Did you think Arsenal is his number one club? His prescence in Arsenal is only a pragmatic move on his part. Why do you expect a Spanish Barca fan to be loyal to Arsenal ? Don't tell me Wenger "discovered" him.He won the Golden Ball in the Youth Tourney and was the target for many other big clubs. |
Getting worked up? How about the fact that you can convert from Christianity to Islam in any Christian nation but not vice versa in many Muslim nations?Or the fact that you can debate openly, without fear ,the fundamental tenets of Christianity but can't do same with Islam in Muslim nations. Is there a contemporary Christian equivalent of the Muhammed cartoon,Salman Rushdie,Theo Van Gogh,e.t.c? |
Imani:Glad you noticed I have been lecturing him about it. ![]() Seriously,I can't envisage loving without reasonable doubt. To doubt is human ![]() |
Imani:"Beyond reasonable doubt".Love is essentially irrational,so its always subject to reasonable doubt. |
Imani:That is a major problem ![]() |
