a4cube: My enquiry was from their website, I filled the contact form but no one contacted me back. While researching for the biz model I found this on punch https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/gigm-unveils-enterprise-partner-model/%3famp=1.
Maybe I will send my manager to their Ajah office when things get to near normal.
I have also enquired from Plenty Waka, they give 100k every month for sienna. All bill on them. I/We once did some enquiries from a transport company. Although it's not GIG, but I can definitely tell you some of the conditions on their contract - Their commission would be 30% - The whole responsibilities would fall on you. From repairs, to driver's salary, all would be on you. So just calculate the amount on a 14 seater to Abuja. Maybe #9000 * 14 = #126,000 Subtract fuelling and road expenses (maybe 30k) Then remove their 30%. At least you should make almost 50k on any Hiace bus that leaves Lag to Abj. As for Sienna, I don't think they accept the 04 05 ones oh. Try and find out But if you really want to invest in it, just start your own company. Yes, it may be rough at First, but with time, you'll break forth Some people buy like 3 siennas, write their name on top (a4cube motors ). What they do next is that they rent a park(like renting a space). So people will know there as your park. That's still another strategy to organize it too... So with this format, they wont have issues with all those union and agbero levies This is an example of a park that they rent somewhere in Lagos

Mayor555: You're very right. I'm actually talking about partnering with those that have names already.
As for garages, one can be registered in more than one garage, up-to three/four garages, how you see that one too? Might be in different cities close to each other... Turns can keep coming.... When it clashes, you assign a friend.... How you see am? Of course it's possible That's why when you want to choose a driver, choose one that has experience, not just in handling cars, but in the business too. It's only an experienced driver that will know authorities in garages, know how to meet up with trips even when he arrives late, or is behind in the queue. A driver's experience is very vital in this option. I know a particular guy that picks drivers with 7 years and above experience to drive his Siennas As for partnering with known brands, It's a safe way to play. But it's cost intensive from the start. Some of them have specific requirements for their vehicles. I think GIG requires brand new or a specific model upwards. ABC transport don't accept Siennas, only 14 seaters and 54 seaters. |

Mayor555 Lol I didn't say you're lying oh. I totally understand you, and I won't argue, because na learn I dey learn too If you want to research on Interstate transport, don't use companies that have names. You'll be carried away by the profits they make, forgetting that it's their name or brand that's contributing heavily to that A GIG bus going to Benin can go and come back the same day effortlessly, because his customers are always there. He is not competing for passengers with any other bus. He owns his park(they call it pit), and he owns his staff. When they collect their money, all they give the driver is fuel, road expenses, and daily allowance. The rest goes to their account Don't use this as a yardstick to jump into the business yet In Garages, you'll register. You'll pay for union, you'll pay for the park and maybe other levies anytime you load. You'll give driver his money (Lag to Abuja gives their driver about 26k to 29k for fuel and others). If you subtract this from the gross, you'll find out that it's not as juicy as the known names Another thing is number of trips. Sometimes, it may take up to 12pm before you start your first trip. Think about when you'll reach, and join the queue again. That's why I and suco01 are insisting that's it's very hard to go to and fro Interstate is juicy, but we should not have that mindset as starters. If you have a brand, it becomes a gold mine. But if you just wan start, you need to swallow a lot of bones |

Mayor555: @bigleaf1006
I no wan put mouth before but then comparing interstate travels(as far as Warri, PH) and uber is wrong in my own opinion.
It's an area of interest for me and I've been doing some work on it, I've interviewed managements and drivers. 30k is low remittance.
Having studied Lagos to Akure and Ado route, a sienna would net(after expenses deduction), more than 30k in one and half tour(i.e to - fro and one to). Going to and fro everyday can be achieved on these routes. That's why I said 30k remittance a week is low, and to top it, 50-50 maintenance ah! Unless you have your own park, and your own staff, e hard oh They take turns to load. I don't know how hot the Akure or Ado route is, but Lag-Benin that is hot, it's difficult for a driver to go and come back. It's possible sha, but it's hard |

nitigriti: Nobody worked at home, except me. I made sure everyone's salary was paid up to date before the lockdown.
My question is: if you were the owner of the company, would you pay your staff for the month none of them came to work and you also had no business? I'm trying to understand your point from this question? The answer is entirely up to the Business owner. But saying "don't take what doesn't belong to you" does not blend with your example. The FG paid people that didn't come to work. Banks paid people that didn't come to work. Many companies paid their staff that didn't come to work. Guinness Nigeria wants to support their customers that did not sell a single bottle during the lockdown. How does all these translate to "taking what doesn't belong to you?" If your boss decided to pay anybody, it's fine. I don't know the mode of operation in your workplace. Like Carshopper said, your job was to prepare the sheet. After all, your boss knows that they(not out of their volution) didn't come to work |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by izzou(m): 10:11am On May 05, 2020 |
nitigriti: So the moral of my two stories is this: Don't take whatever doesn't belong to you.
If my employer was naive enough to the point of thinking he had a responsibility to pay staff who didn't work in April salary from business that never happened in April, then I, as his COO, is duty-bound to set him right. And I'm proud I did just that.
Now, if he decides, of his own freewill, to gift his staff their April salaries, then I'm cool with it.
Even for my car owner (in my second narrative), I was not willing to pay him for what the car never earned. We signed a rental agreement to use the car for e-hailing purposes and to remit a rent from the earnings thereof. The moment it became impossible for the car to earn the agreed rental, despite working 70 hours + in the week (clause also in the agreement), I had the right to call a 'force majeure,' which I did.
Concluding, this is not about morals. This is about doing right no matter its cost. I regularly encounter these situations of temptations and I regularly resist them. And my life has been better for it too. IMHO, The two examples do not match actually. Maybe you should look for another example to match the COO story But it's definitely good to do the right thing |

pope191: Boss no talk like dis nah, customer rep answer one person at a time? Banks arrangement differ, but this is not the point... Let me buy you a story, ard march I picked up a rider going to work in one of these banks, then we only have the Italian man case, as he got into the car, he start chatting me up and I took him as one of the cool rider until he said "I've been calling my wife and she not picking, menh I'm scared oo, I won't lie, she's an health worker in UK and the rate at which the thing is spreading... I have to come back last night" before I know, my guy throw this heavy sneeze with droplet of catarrh and ask if I have tissue paper... In my mind, tissue paper ko, straight face and double the gas on my pedal. Same week I took a rider to yaba isolation centre, boss it wasn't easy being at home trying to block different tots.
So I don't think any cashier will b comfortable with one customer coughing anyhow in his/her front. People will definitely cough na. That's why she/he is wearing masks Make we no derail abeg. Hope you don net 15k today? |

All these goes down to our leaders for not doing the right thing during this lockdown, but are they doin the best they can do? Story for another day.
Why the bank have to caution dia clients is same reason why uber drivers think rider must take some precautions by using this or that, if not the bank workers won't b comfortable working under such condition. You honestly can't blame folks that have their ATM stuck from the 2nd week of lockdown with no one to borrow them money and too many insult they have received due to inability to eat or carry on as a man from neighbours... Hunger doesn't know anything about social distancing, we die here, I must take money home is d mentality boss. The cashier will only attend to one person at a time The customer rep will only attend to one person at a time Whether they rush in oh, or line up, or go in one by one, it will end up the same way I'm not saying people should not go out, but do I need a security or policeman to force me to save my own life? The bank should just ensure that there's few metres between the crowd and those two officers outside If they don't want to observe social distancing by themselves, they should please push and pull each other. Like Carshopper said, some people will be used as statistics |

Queues have to be managed by security people in order for social distancing to be maintained. There's no excuse for allowing this to happen. if Sanwo off em phone, I'm sure Femi won't, the line exactly is what I had in mind... All bank need to do is not to allow cars to park in dia premises, put some sought of line with metres for each person that wants to make use of the bank and as well securities officials at the point of entries, no one should touch the door or d open button. They can as well allow clients to pick up numbers in the morning and don't go beyond the number in a day Lol. I think it's funny the way we push responsibilities to others, especially issues concerning our own lives Even if the bank does not put anything, does it even make sense for people to overcrowd themselves without any protective measures?Must we always wait for one policeman or one OD to compel us to save our own lives? Look at how drivers here are taking measures to be safe out there. They didn't have to wait for Uber or Bolt to type first. That should be our attitude to staying safe I saw that thread and I laughed. If I was GTB, I will not force or put any sign there. If they want to push themselves and squeeze themselves, it's fine. I'll only protect the two security guards outside. Whosever wants to be stupid now, should be I'm sorry to say, but Nigerians(I know I'm included) are just one kind. Very anyhow people |
