ItsModella: LMAO!! Mikel claims he hasn't spoken to the lady in a long while.Hmmm. all I could wonder about was "How old is Sandra compared to Mikel's Official age" ![]() |
Sincere 9gerian: Sorry for the delay. I've done the update but I'm having difficulty adding the pictures for the latest update but I hope to do that soonAlhamdulilahi, you are safe. The major worries I have with the train service is safety. It is also shocking to hear that they have started developing mechanical faults. I am no prophet of doom, but I fear if Nigerians are left to manage the rail service, the inherent poor maintenance attitude and poor "quality service" culture will eventually ruin the little achievements we have made in this sector. |
zayhal: Please help us tell them o. Some brothers carry on as if smiling is a sin, even at home with their wives and children. I know a particular one that laughs and plays with his wife when they're alone together but once they're outside or they have a visitor in the house, his countenance suddenly changes and he wears that straight face. I wonder why. Thanks for rekindling the sunnah. Shaitan often makes people go over-board; I once had a friend like that who felt being so serious and frowny implies dedication to the deen. I knew He was sufering from youthful exuberrance and little knowledge of the deen. Being cheerful is part of the deen. Hadhrat Abu Dhar (رضى الله تعالى عنه) narrates that the Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Don’t ever belittle any of your good deeds even though this may be meeting your brother with a cheerful countenance.” [Muslim] y However, one must behave with wisdom, if you are a lady you don't go around being too smily or cheerful to men (whom are not your mahram), because that is likely to send the wrong signal in this time we live in. May Allah have mercy on us and guide us |
It is quite unfortunate that many are just beginning to become aware of the teachings of Islam, it shows that the Muslims of the recent past really failed in exposing the true values of Islam. It is amazing that despite the "bad publicity" islam continues to grow in the west, i guess it is the ability of many westerners to look at issues or principles of any ideaology without prejudice that has made them see the beauty in Islam more. It is quite painful as a muslim, when you see people standing on "nothingness"; "mere fantasies spurned around falsehope"; slandering ISLAM. I often see many non-Muslims running helter-skelter from one prayer warrior to motivation speaker (i.e modern day pastor) looking for solutions to their problems and often returning back with nothing but false hopes, when all they could have done is embrace some of the teachings of Islam and the problems will be a thing of the past. Allah guides whomever he wills. Allah says in the Qur’an in Sura Bani-Israel, verse 9: “Indeed this Qur’an guides to the path which is clearer and straighter than any other.” Also the Qur’an states in Sura Luqman, verse 2-4: “These are the verses of the wise Book. A guide and a mercy to those who do good, those who establish regular prayers, and give regular charity, and have in their hearts the assurance of the hereafter.” Quran12:111: "There was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding. Never was the Qur'an a narration invented, but a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of all things and guidance and mercy for a people who believe." |
deols: I don't even see that holding water because-You misinterpreted my argument?? The point I was making is that If Non-Muslims are not forced to wear the Hijab in Kano, then Muslims sholudn't be forced not to wear the Hijab in lagos or even Enugu, Anambra etc for that matter. |
rhymz: this is the first comment here that points to main fact here, the story is an exaggerated one.If you are truly a sincere person, then you would have sought for the Principal's denial or side of the story before making this post, but you wouldn't because your mind is made up to be hateful to anything Islamic not because of any reasonable rationale but that is the way many of you are. The Principal's response and the Vice's was reported in the punch news paper; and just like many of you she was evasive at best. http://www.punchng.com/metro/outrage-as-principal-flogs-pupil-for-wearing-hijab/ It was learnt that Aisha wore the scarf outside the class in the school premises on February, 5, but she was apprehended by Ukpaka, who had warned against such practice. It was said the principal immediately called an emergency assembly after apprehending the teenager to address the issue. A pupil on the assembly, who pleaded anonymity for the fear of reprisal, said Aishat was given no fewer than 43 strokes of the cane. She said, “At about 4pm on that day; we had closed before we heard that there was an emergency assembly. “The principal addressed us and warned that if we didn’t stop putting on religious outfit during the school hours, we were going to get into trouble. She subsequently called on Aisha and gave her about 43 lashes. “Some of us started crying on the assembly. Her body was covered with marks of the cane. The principal had warned us before, but that day was more serious.” Aisha told our correspondent that since the school had closed, she thought that the principal’s warning would no more apply. She was however, prevented from talking further by her father, Rasak Alabi. When contacted, the principal declined comment, saying as a civil servant, she was not allowed to talk to the press. The Vice principal of the school, Mr. S. Ajide, however, said the school had appealed to the parent of the pupil. He said, “The principal is not a harsh person. The beating just came like that. We have pleaded with the father of the girl and he has accepted.” Rasak, who had earlier said he wanted his daughter to forger the “sad experience”, however, insisted that there was no basis for the beating because her daughter did not flout any law. - See more at: http://www.punchng.com/metro/outrage-as-principal-flogs-pupil-for-wearing-hijab/#sthash.I3VIwIJi.dpuf |
Movingcoil: mr man or woman, it might also interest to go and find out dat these girls must hav been warned so many times and if u can see, all of her muslim friends must hav stopped wearing dat stuff and decided to be good and obedient students but she out of stupidy and hopeless ignorance decided 2 keep disobeying and d teacher out of stupid hatred dat she wouldn't listen and dat she is challenging her authority flogged her bum bum well. U know u mslims ar known to always use r religion to commit atrocity so dat ru brodas and sisters can hail u as strong willedI have a question for you, would you consider it right and fair if : Your Daughter was compelled to wear the Hijab in a Government School in Kano, simply because you happen to live in that part of the country ![]() |
AKobo4urthought: That is a very ridiculous statement to make. What does wearing a school uniform have to do with wearing an hijab? Back in high school I had tons of muslim friends who wore the hijab, but they didn't have to take their hijab off because of some so called "uniform", and their hijab didn't interfere with their studies or the studies of others. As a school administrator it is rather unprofessional to suspend or mistreat students because of their religious believes. But then in a country like Nigeria, people don't really care about being professional or being fair. If the christian students get to be treated like they belong in the school, so should the muslim students. Wearing an hijab should have nothing to do with getting a proper education. Afam4eva:Well, you will read more ridiculous statements if you stay on this forum. This is how low the mindset of many Christians (esp. pentecostals) in Nigeria are. During my NYSC service in Enugu I can remember vividly that the Muslim ladies had many conflicts with the authorities over the use of Hijab but the Catholic Nun sisters who wears almost exactly what looks like an hijab was treated like a saint, infact when challenged, the response was that she is a "Catholic Sister"; how preposterous!!! The Hijab (or any other religious head covering) is permitted by law in every Government school in lagos, anyone can check up the facts. I live in the North, and I can say without any doubt that in Kaduna the christians attending public schools are free not to wear the hijab to school if they so desire, no one is compelling them to wear the hijab to school, so why should Muslims be compelled to against the teachings of their religion by removing the Hijab. and they say they are tolerant... |
So Taribo is struggling!!!. I can't believe it; so soon But The Femi Opabunmi's revelation aches my heart. The guy is blind how![]() |
fellis: Marriages should be about companionship and understanding. When any major decision is made, there should be an agreement between both the husband and wife about that decision. Both parties should be happy about any decision that is taken in the marriage for there to be contentment and to avoid development of any resentment from one spouse towards the other.I think the word "commanding" is being misinterpreted here; it doesn't imply ordering you wife around, like a military officer! Absolutely not. Perhaps the translator chose the wrong word in translation. I believe what it implies is that obeying your husband on what He has resolved that He wants you to do. It does not mean you can not discuss or deliberate on issues with your husband; definitely you have right to do so. But if one is married, one would understand that there is got to be one captain in a ship, normally, the husband should be that captain, and after He hears your views it is up to me to decide to accept it, refuse it, or accept it even when He thinks you are wrong. In a nutshell, the message is as a good wife; when your husband has resolved to take a certain decision, and you have failed to convince him nicely; then just abide by it. |
rhema4u: 6. Mum-Zi, from the island of Calabar in Nigeria, became a mother aged eight years and four months in August 1884. Her daughter also gave birth at a very young age, making Mum-Zi a grandmother aged 17. Both were part of Chief Akkiri’s haremJust wondering; if MUM-ZI had turned out to be Northerner from Kano; she ge. One can only imagine the nature of curses, insults and all sorts that would have been posted in this section. Just thinking aloud... |
WOW!; this is scary and a rude reminder that death is a respecter of no one. My condolences to the family and the entire Channels crew |
Catlanta:Up Circuit Atlantic. Finally, you have delivered. |
kasco27: I want urge people tơ̴̴̮͡ see thi̶̲̥̅̊s̶̲̥̅̊ project as a good development for our nation. We are now in ICT world, we can't still remain under develop in Naija. Lagos state govt always comes up wt good idea that people cannot even imagine it can work. Compare tơ̴̴̮͡ federal govt project, despite the huge amont of money spending on abuja city is still crawling after Lagos. Let's embrace the idea and give them positive advice on how thi̶̲̥̅̊s̶̲̥̅̊ dream wil come tơ̴̴̮͡ reality. God bless us.Honestly, only reading about lagos gladdens my heart these days. |
Eko Ile: It's a capitalist economy where private investors look at and scrutinize business opportunities before investing their money. They are obviously not investing their money if there is no financial gains and opportunities for them. They've obviously done their homework (That you did not do) before committing their funds. You don't know what can work or can not work because you haven't done any research, you are not an engineer or a town planner, you are also not an investor so your money is not on the line. phabulous88: By virtue of my knowledge and experience, I have an idea of what should work in a city like Lagos. And FYI, I'm a Construction Project Management postgraduate student & I've designed and planned a sustainable city which received endorsement from my professors. You don't deal with congestion in an over populated city like Lagos by introducing cable cars. it's a waste of resources.Where I do agree with Eko-ile is that: the investors are investing to make profits, and would obviously have done a lot of feasibility studies before deciding to invest such huge amount of money. Really, if it was so obviously a stupid idea, then they would have known. |
Negro_Ntns: nooooooo, noooooo!!!I am glad to see we still have people with brains on Nairaland |
Hopefully Abrahamovic have learnt his lessons. He really messed chelsea up. Now Benitez will go at the end of the season and Chelsea would have to start again. |
what I love about Ghana is the discipline they have. trust them to lock up. Cape verde are also fantastic; very discipline and play to their strength very well. hope to see them in the next Nations cup, hopefully they would be much stronger then. |
I thought I should drop an advice for anyone willing to purchase OBD II Scanners. It is very annoying to see people quoting 25k, 40k for scanners that would probably cost you 10k max. if you bought them on amazon. There are expensive scanners that cost well over that; but most of the ones being advertised are the cheap ones. You may try something like circuitatlantic or other similar online buy services to purchase one. |
Catlanta:Ok O. Good to see that we are making some progress. |
JaaizTech: I am really worried about my order, actually I am yet to be disappointed but with all the bad comments I have been reading, man mii I dey fear o Catlanta: People talk mainly when they have an issue, there are 1000's of successful transaction, that go unmentioned so you really do not need to fear!Catlanta; it is now happening to me. On Jan. 24th I received this email "All or some of the items in your order are ready for delivery. If you chose home delivery (within or outside Lagos), your expected delivery time is now 1 - 4 working days. If you selected "office pickup", please visit our office to pick up your items. If you selected outside Lagos, please contact us if you need us to ship your items as they become available. Else, we will ship them only when all your ordered items are complete at our Lagos facility. Thank you for using our website for your purchases.". That was 14 days after full payments have been made. Lo and behold! I checked up my account on the website and found out that only one of the 2 items I ordered have been prepared for delivery. I said to myself "No Wahala; let me receive this one first". I sent an email requesting for the one "prepared for delivery" to be delivered, but up till now the only reponse I have got is this: "We are deeply sorry for the delay in delivering your ordered items. The reason is, one box from our consignment at the Air Port was mistakenly swapped with that of a fellow client from our clearing agents. We are currently working to get the box back. Once received, you would be notified and your item would be ready for pickup. Thank you for your patience." I thought that was honest and impressive; but it is 7 days after and your box still remains missing and more worrisome the one item you claimed to have received has also not been delivered 7 days after ![]() ORDER NO. 1301070194 |
Uwakuwak: those qualities should be for a good husband not for islam aloneI think the message is that: those are the qualities or standards by which Islam expects a Muslim man to live by. If as a christian, you find them good qualities then you can emulate them. |
Siena: Costee, some states will visually inspect the catalyst, some check for a CEL, while others go the whole hog, and do emission testing. In such states, gutting / removing the catalyst means the car will not pass emissions.I am going to gut my CATALYTIC CONVERTER tomorrow, God willing. I have thought it through, buying a fairly used CAT. is a No NO, and I can't wait for the time it takes to order a new one. But I think it is just going to work great. The Catalytic converter really isn't anything other than a chamber that holds special types of metal that reacts with your exhaust fumes, to make them safer gases. It doesn't impact your fuel consumption in itself. The reason why cars running without CAT. consume fuel is that the Oxygen sensor senses too much air and directs the system to throw more fuel in to balance the mix. So if you can reduce the exposure of your O2 sensor into the chamber of the CAT.; then you may actually prevent it from doing so. The trick to achieve this is simple; put a spark plug defouler before screwing in the O2 sensor. As for the theory of creating turbulence in the hollowed CAT. I think it is over exaggerated, the CAT. in itself isn't that big, The muffler will discharge the exhaust gas more quickly, without the CAT and hence you are not likely to experience turbulence but in fact steady flow. The idea of turbulence is based on the thinking that the car will generate more fumes than the mufflers can discharge instantly, which I don't think is the case. To further buttress this point, many cars made for outside USA markets don't even have a CAT installed in them. The only issue I am not quite sure of is the fact that some cars do need some back pressure, which the catalytic converter provides, but definitely not all cars. |
I am really worried about my order, actually I am yet to be disappointed but with all the bad comments I have been reading, man mii I dey fear o |
Sagamite: Our "youthful" team of child prodigies.GBAM. TRUE TALK. A COUNTRY of corrupt values; we can't even put up a honest team with at least 50% stating their true age, that shows how terrible we are as a nation |
Hmmm, tough one; at the moment I am teaching my wife and I must admit it is not easy, I started teaching her with manual transmission, but we had to stop because it was damn too difficult for both of us, I was almost having an heart attack, then I bought an automatic and now I am teaching her again, well I still run on high blood pressure when I put her on the road, but I believe she would soon get it right. |
I CAN'T REALLY THINK OF A MAN I RESPECT LIKE THAT. THERE ARE A FEW I ADMIRE, DANGOTE IS ONE OF THEM. OBASANJO, I WOULDN'T SAY I RESPECT HIM, BUT I'D RATHER SAY I AM FOND OF HIM, HE JUST MAKES ME LAUGH. THE MAN IS GOT A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. |
Well, one thing I can say is that once you've had sex with someone before and actually loved her/him before; then those memories are bound to come back, and like everything with man, He likes adventure, His mind may start wondering what if ... It is up to the individual to resist the temptation; I have always believed you can love 2 or more women at the same time, because with every woman there is a unique and distinct beauty. I don't know how women feel about men, but the relationship I had with my Ex still remains memorable, even though I love my wife with all my life. |
bennygee: Most of u peeps condemning Dana Air return are just so daft.so many airlines have had crashes and werent stopped from flying.wat happpens to the families of the Dana. Air workers who have been unpaid in the past 7months?isnt that hunger and starvation.is Dana air worse than a VP whose new house costs more than 10B naira which is. More. Than enough to build over 2000 housing units at a modest rate of 5m per house or our leaders who are busy looting away much money than we can even think aboiut.corruption in govt has killed over 2000 people Due to hunger and sickness in the past 5 years.lets leave Dana air to operate and keep people in employment which our govt cant provide and face our. Corrupt leaders who are depriving us of our basic needs.lets stop being hypocriticI tire o!; Airline crashes happen everywhere although Nigeria's case is worrisome, but that is not enough reason to close an airline down, especially if they have not been found wanting in their maintenance practice. In fact I believe an airline cost so much, that almost every operator will do all within their means to ensure it doesn't crash. I would fly Dana any day anytime as long as it is cheaper. I fly the cheapest airline I find, cos I see no difference between the airlines, except ARIK, which seems to have newer planes but very unprofessional staff. |
abdulkayus: I read it on his page 2day written in Hausa language. Even me as a Muslim didnt agree 100% wit his postulations. Northerners dont lyk tellin theirselves d truth, dat is y dis religion intolerance, religion crisis will continue here and there if care is nt taken. Instead of lookin inward to solve their problem, dey lyk pushind blame on d other side.I am a Muslim too, and this is exactly where I stand; Northerners find it so difficult to see how much they have wronged themselves and others. I don't know if it is arrogance, or lack of exposure or because for decades they have been in power and have always looked at themselves from within themselves. They are just damn too blind to see, and perhaps too arrogant to accept the truth as it is. Boko-Haram is not Islam, ideology of Boko-Haram is anti-Islam, Boko-Haram has its origins in the north, it flourishes in the north because of the failure of the past leaders to help her people develop. This is the plain truth, accept and look for a way to solve the problem, that's the approach i expect from the north, not to remain in denial. There are obvious instances that a group people (Christians) would have done some things to malign or harm Islam and the North, just the same way there have been instances a group of people (Muslims) have done things to malign or harm christians and the south; these issues would always exist, the onus is on us to prepare ourselves for the challenges, to develop the North, to develop her people, most importantly. It is nobody's fault that the North is so poorly educated and wallowing in immense poverty, it is nobody's fault but the Fault of the Northern leaders themselves |
I have always wondered why a method such as this was not being employed in the Kidnap cases. I guess, our security agents know how to do their Job, when they really want to . |
oke_chukwu: Two christian governors (Taraba, Kaduna) gone from office. Two muslem deputy governors replacing them. Na wah o.God works in mysterious ways; I remember many of you ascribing the death of Yar'adua and the ascension to the Presidential throne by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the handiwork of God. All sort of things were said: GEJ is God's chosen etc etc. So perhaps, you can continue in that line of reasoning.Since you people would rather remain "sillyly" supersitious |
