^great job, thanks Goshen! Looks like I can hand over the modding reigns to you and you would do a fantastic job ![]() |
buzugee: Body dey kampe ooo my sister.Maybe a whole day was an exaggeration on my part. all i know is i got banned yesterday evening and i tried again today and it worked. Thanks for the prompt response. Trust all is well at your end. Nice to know it was the spambot. That spambot owes me a buttwhoopingAll is well oh, we thank God. Abeg add my own on top urs while you're whopping the spambot ![]() Pastor AIO: Menh, I am afraid to touch that my thread about the Wars of Religion, cos as soon as I attempt anything I get banned and the thread gets deleted. What am I to do?Strange. I untagged it a little while ago but it seems flagged again. Sorry its giving you trouble. I will untag it one more time. I think it may be the broken link at the bottom of the post that's triggering the spambot. I will take it out, try to post again soon so I can watch for if it tries to ban you again so I can refer it to Seun to fix. Thanks. |

^thank you sister. Thread locked, pls continue at the link above. |
Jenwitemi: It is not even about that, Jesoul. I am talking about the type of threads that is opened in here. Do we open threads on issues that are meant to be discussed or debated on or do we open preaching threads that solicit no feedback? That is the point of my opening this thread.Oh okay got you. Both. And the history of the section reflects that. Sometimes there seems to be an overabundance of anti-catholic topics, other times science vs. religion debates, other times anti-pastor chris threads, and right now atheist vs. christian threads. It depends on the tone/purpose as put forth but the original poster and subsequent posters are to respect it. I personally think this section is much better and more alive with debate threads. |
PAIO, it was the spambot that initially tagged/deleted your topic. Should be fine now. |
@topic & posters, Jenwitemi: I ask all members who frequent her to discuss. Is the forum a FORUM for debates and discussions, or a PULPIT for preachers preaching their own version of reality to us all? Why are you here? To discuss theological issues, or listen to online preachers preaching to you while you give no feedback?@topic & posters, It is a forum. And it is a forum where people should have the common courtesy and decency to respect other posters. If non-christians posted respectfully on christian threads, this wouldn't be an issue and if christians weren't so antagonistic towards the non-christians they wouldn't respond in kind. Since we have too many immature tweenagers trolling each others threads, a 'stay off' policy will have to do since people don't know how to behave themselves in a decent manner. |
buzugee: hello JESOUL AND MANMUSTWAC. just tryna find out why i got banned all day yesterday. something i said or just bugs in the system ? i would like to curtail myself if i am offending anyone as that is not the intention. do you give warnings before banning folk or is it instantaneous banning with no warnings ? thanks a bunches and God blessBuzugee my dude. How body? It was the spambot. It automatically tags & deletes posts that it deems to be spam and bans the poster for 1 hr only - and no one is exempt from the vicious bot, even mods get banned sometimes. I checked, and it banned you for an hour, you sure it lasted all day? Cheers. Goshen, thanks for bringing it to our attention. I will send them cautions - and I will also have to do so to a few christians in the house because the fighting and slinging has been going both ways, but the deliberate derailment of threads is against the rules. I checked your other thread, didn't seem like a biggie but I've locked it. Cheers bro. |

I heard it was for $47 dollars? or has the story changed over the last few days? lol. 'Poor' SS agents, one would think they'd be much much more smarter than this. Throw away your life & career for 5mins of fun...I hope the 5mins was worth it. |

Callotti, no wahala jare. Carry on. Pastor AIO: Please Mister and Madame Moderators, I hail you.PastorAIO, salutations sir. Hope all has been peaches & cream with you. Thanks for the heads up on that thread. Its done. |
rokiatu: Please how can I make my new husband understand that I am not yet ready to have kids? I have said everything under the sun, but he don't seem to understand. I luv him very much but I want to complete my study before I start having my kids. I told him that, but he insist I have atleast one, and then complete my study. And before marriage, I told him my plan i mean this has never been a secret to him. Now suddenly he have changed his mind and seem to be sticking to it. I don't want to disrespect my husband, but then again, I am not at all ready for motherhood. Please how do I make him come to term with this decision of mine?I think you can both strike a compromise. You said he was aware of your stance before but has now changed his mind, don't be too frazzled, it happens and now that he's your husband you have to work with him and respect it. What you have to show him is that you care about his desires and are willing to give up on some of yours to find some middle ground. You said have 3 semesters left, can you both agree to start trying when you have 1.5 semesters left? that way (and by God's grace) you would be just about done with school before the 9mths is up (hoping you have a relatively easy pregnancy without much stress). Or could you stop working & focus solely on school in order to finish sooner? Don't be disheartened, you will work it out with your new hubby. Just find a way for both of you to compromise, you'll be doing that for many many other issues as your union progresses, its good to start practising and getting used to it now. Cheers! |
^MMW it was actually him who opened the thread - Jenwitemi rightfully complained in the thread that it belonged in the muslim section (check the logs, the link should be there). And then he replied Jenwitemi is "determining" where threads should go by "pushing" the mods Sometimes I tire for posters here. |
Goshen360: Well, If you have made up your mind but before you step down from God, listen to my story.Goshen, this is powerful, because it comes from someone who has been there, thank you for sharing and I pray that God too will continue to heal & preserve your heart & testimony. butterflyy: B4 u chew me out hear my story. I lost my sister n her child few days back in a motor accident at a very young age. As at d time of d accident my mum was in d church praying n i was also in church. N God so loving let it happen, well its high time i stop deceiving myself n knw that if there was any god, well, he was wicked n now i will live my life like am gonna die today. Who cares. Please accept my condolences on your loss. It is only human to cry out and ask for meaning in senseless deaths, especially if God is all powerful and knows all. I lost a loved one too to a ghastly road accident. Its a terrible thot to know they departed under such gruesome circumstances. I can't give you an answer, but much like Goshen has said, there is something powerful & inexplicable about the peace & reassurance of God even in terrible circumstances. One night I stumbled upon a show, christians sharing all kinds of stories of terrible loss - loss of children thru terrible sickness or accidents, loss of loved ones to terrible crimes etc etc, it moved my soul to see people who had suffered hell on earth but instead of the suffering to push them away from God, it instead drew them closer, to not necessarily make sense of it, but rather find peace in it because afterall "it rains on both the wicked and the righteous" and use the story to encourage other believers. So even if you're angry with God, upset and heartbroken, that is fine, it only makes you human like the rest of us. I believe that in time it shall be well with you and I hope that you find peace in the midst of grief and comfort for your heart. Be blessed. |
I moved your thread. I am tired of you guys trying to play games. You post a thread with a seemingly 'neutral title' but the content is islamic, approaches from an islamic perspective and is complete with a link from an islamic website. Under NL rules it belongs in the muslim section. If you simply obey the rules no one will disturb you. There are several other muslims that post in the general section my favorite being Tbaba123 that never cause any trouble. That said, I'm locking this thread, leave the other mods names out of it. If you have anything to say, lodge your complaint on the mod thread on top the page. |
Since you don't believe in or care about heaven, wetin concern you with what christians will be 'doing' there? ![]() |
seguun: Hello,The particular post you're trying to make is being automatically deemed "spam" by the spambot. This deletes the post and automatically bans you for a short time. I looked at the posts and you have some links in there - I suspect that is what is triggering the spambot. Try posting without including those links and you should be fine. Cheers. |
Sister Callotti, from the bench wey I dey sit, e be like say the love is flowing both ways lol. This seems to be a season of love-hate between a good amount of atheists & christians and as long as they're not breaking the rules there's unfortunately very little sister jesoul can do. It is not every christian & every atheist...it seems to be a small but very vicious amount from both sides that are causing all the racket. Like everything else that has passed thru this section, this season will soon pass. Brother Goshen, Seun has been petitioned many times to create a seperate section and frankly while I see some benefit, I do not think it will eliminate the constant fighting & bickering, that is human nature abi? Posters simply have to learn to respect each other. All that said, I beg una and others to please 'report' or bring to our attention troublemakers both christians & atheists. Mods do not see every thread & insult especially when they run several pages long. The mods will discuss and see if we need to take a harder stance with banning. Thanks! |
^thanks Goshen for bringing it to our attention. It'll be taken care of. |
^Bravo Goshen, thanks! Ayomivic, hope that explains your question? goshen360: @ Moderators,Unfortunately you can't edit your username, only the Admin (Seun) can do that. I've only seen him honor that request once but you can give it a shot ![]() Callotti: Thank you.Lol. I hope you don't . Tank you very very mush. |
^You're right it works both ways. Which is why I walk away/leave a couple of threads that were opened by christians but were aimed at drawing the ire of atheists. No start fire if no fit handle am. But common now Calloti, you use a lot of brash words & name-calling, when I have also seen you many times get your point across just as well & effective while being less caustic. Its not about disagreeing with the topic because we all will, but its about disagreeing without calling names. I know deep down you love tpia na lie? lol. Anyways thanks for your anticipated co-operation sister ![]() |
I deleted the thread. It was obviously going down the drain of endless fighting - just like this one. Calloti, you know I am a fan of yours since you were Blazay. I kindly ask that you please do try to respect christian topics in the section. Feel free to post your opinion as usual but pls do so respectfully. Thanks. Tpia, I also agree the switch over to NL2 has brought some changes but these 'new' posters have the right to post in the section just like everyone else. ^all that said, I am locking this topic. If anyone has any comments or complaints pls find me on the 'mod' thread. Thanks. |
musKeeto: spent about an hour reading this thread... and I have an exam tomorrow...wow, glad you were entertained. All the very best on your exam. Nothing less than an A will do oh ... ![]() Just wonder if anyone here still agrees with his/her arguments made 2 years ago? Or any revisions? As far as I have read, I do with mine. |
Ayo, I'm not quite sure I understand your question, can you please clarify? Thanks. |
davidylan: I was meaning to ask those who are either married or have been in long-term christian-centered relationships to share with us some of their experiences growing and bonding with their mates. One of the issues was that raised by logicboy - what was your rule regarding sex before marriage? Where there any boundaries that you set for your relationship? Especially for the guys, how did you approach being the spiritual leader in your relationship BEFORE marriage?David have you forgotten this thread? https://www.nairaland.com/399034/does-this-make-me-carnal/1#5526063 Plenty of solid inputs from all angles. Its a pity this isn't an exclusive & condusive place to share, men, the stories I could give you lol. Anyways my short & general 2 cents before I siddon, sex is as natural as the air and it would be a problem for you not to be attracted to your partner, big problem lol. One thing I can definitively say is if your heart is in the right place and your maturity is on point before heading into a serious relationship, the desire to be obedient to God will overcome your desire to compromise. Additionally, I knew many christians who set rules & boundaries, I didn't, I believed that as a christian led by the Spirit you would know when you were crossing a line you're not supposed to. Some things work for some couples, others don't. I instead relied heavily on having that 'peace from/of God' rather than 'rules & regulations' in 100% of the decisions I made and I have not regretted it. No couple will be perfect, but at least they can boast of putting God first in spite of any mistakes they might make. |
*sigh*... I miss this thread. |
@Initiator, nice! its my dream to tour some african countries, I'm just always concerned about safety. salsera: Trips I want to make - Lebanon (heard its beautiful), Spain (not sure the city), Paris and Iceland. Has anyone been there? tips and experiences pleaseSalsera, this thread may be useful - https://www.nairaland.com/697407/vacation-paris-guide#8575633 @MOM, Driving from Boston to Chicago was actually the longest drive I've ever done (I flew back lol), a solid 18hrs. My husband has been trying to convince me to do a cross-country road-trip, Boston to LA ...what's the longest you've attempted? |
Shinor: China was the most fascinating. If not the distance, would do it every year. Absolutely beautiful ( Shenzhen ) Flew Virgin with an open bar at the rear for as many drinks as you wanted. China was really great as I was met with scenes beyond my imagination....folks here are making me re-think my attitude towards China lol. How did you find walking & touring around as a black person? and how did you find DC? gosh its probably the most drab city I've visited lol, unless rows of govt. agencies/buildings are your thing. And if you think DC has a problem with homeless folks & street beggars, wait till you get to Philadelphia it will just break your heart.I wouldn't want to forget NYC just like that. Been to NYC a few times. I agree the skyline can be intimidating and sometimes seemingly boring but there are lots of other places you could do in NYC. take a trip to Harlem and visit the Apollo and wonder at the array of stars who have graced the venue. You know at a time if an artiste hadn't played at the Apollo, that artiste wasn't reckoned with.Lol, you're absolutely spot on with your last comment. At the same time, the fast-paced madness of NYC is really not for everyone. I get a headache anytime I'm there and really dread anytime I have to go down there. Part of my issue with New york is mostly with the attitudes of the people - rude, inconsiderate, loud, noisy etc they will knock you over and just keep walking, hawkers will practically insult you for not patronising them etc etc... not my kind of place. But you're right about all the attractions, you can't beat that at all. And also the vast array of diverse restaurants - unbeatable. But as for central park, enjoy your picnic & walk, if you can navigate thru the crowded throngs of other lovers who populate the place lol. |
logicboy:Jesoul takes no pleasure in the banning of anyone. I'm only for posters to respect each other and respect the topic the same way they will like to be respected. The topic calls for input from christians on their experiences with relationships...it will be nice of our atheist friends to respect that and stay off since they can't contribute to the thread. On a serious note, a Godly relationship in the bible prohibits sex before marriage. Sex before marriage is almost impossible or at least very hard to achieve. Also, we are animals and we always have to be sexually attracted to a person of the opposite sex before marriage. No one dates/marries someone that they dont want to have sex with later. All fine & dandy and this is your opinion - as an atheist. Those of us christians, especially those of us who have dated and & married, know and have experienced otherwise. |
Mazaje thank you as always. At atheists on this thread, do not crash or derail the topic. I don't know why you guys always see the need to crash christian topics without disruptive comments. If you have nothing to contribute to the topic, its not by force to post, go and make your own topic. any repeat trouble makes should expect a ban. Thanks. @David, can you clarify, what sort of examples do mean? |
