As far as i know there is no biblical commandment oppossing marrying more than one wife. The few verses people use is sibject to various interpretations. Several prophets of God in the bible had more than one wife. i leave this subject to the clergy men in da house but lots of women who go any length to prove it is unchristian.

o boy nawao.  u are something else.  where are your verses allowing Christian men to marry more than one? can you tell us the happiness in the homes of these several prophets?there are loads of ungodly things the bible wrote about.  it is not licence to practice them.

the bible said happy is the man that have his house full of children not wives.  there are loads of people sincerely wrong about their interpretation of the bible.

there is truly nothing ambiguos about the verse except that you are the one trying to quote it out of context. The verse was speaking to bishops/deacons in the church and NOT all church memebers. in essence what the verse is saying is that as long as you are not a bishop or a deacon you can have more than one verse.

so where is your verse for this sir? ever heard of the priesthood of the believer?

Yeah I can in principle but other issues have to be trashed out before hand. I am from a family of 7 with 3 christians and the other 2 muslims are married to christians and we all get along but I am a muslim and would have loved if they were all muslims as well which is natural.

I decided to study and understand the word on my own indepennt of what we are being taught in church and i realized that the church is defintely not teaching us to live the kind of life christ directed. Jesus greatest commandment is love to our felllow men. Church leadership merely only pay a lip service to this commandment, they are more interested in themselves than the flock.

Do you mind checking the Nigerian constitution before denying it?. Why do we Nigerians derive joy from denying the ugly side of us?. Will the problem resolve itself by us hiding it?. The Nigerian constitution puts the marriage age at 12. That means you cannot sue any man that marries a 12 yr old girl for statutory rape in Nigeria. It's the law bu you musn't follow that aspect of law.


I think it's poverty that is the sole problem here. No comfortable parents will allow an adult male to dissect their 12 year old daughters kitten in the name of marriage.

funmi, i know many rich alhajis that married off their daughters before they left primary school. it is more cultural and religious than poverty.
