And I forgot about your men being beating "lightly" when they "wrong." As you can see, different strokes for different strokes. Even on Nairaland, you have dominatrix (lol) who likes to chastise her man with pepper. We have also a talker and she knows who she is, since she can talk up a storm. Between these brands of women, i guess if a man is married to either group, and he is a woosey, I will not be surprised if you hear a grown man bawling like a child.

They say some like it hot. However that will not work for almost all muslim man. If my wife gives me the same light beating (yelling) that I give her, am okay with it. As the yorubas will say; Ojo gbogbo ko lodun. Sugbon orirere lo je faya to ba mo ke oko o.

Spinsters in the house (and you know who you are since you should have been married at least a decade or so ago) get married woman and leave a boo who can't commit to his own spit or shadow! Is not always about Benjamin.

Thank goodness, his IT manager at work detected him and made the information available to the police immediately. These days I am not fazed by the sheer wealth easily attributed to youth in our times. Yahoo Yahoo scams have become a logo with jobless and even some job-employed youths both in Nigeria and beyond.

CrimePoliticians And Armoured Vehicles by JJYOU(op): 4:05pm On Feb 23, 2009
Politicians And Armoured Vehicles
By SOLOMON IMOHIOSEN Esq

Perhaps, we are in a period of extraordinary emergencies. However, I don’t know whether it was part of the lessons learnt from the Jos crisis, the militant operations in the Niger-Delta or sheer cases of anticipated violent attacks from any quarters.

However, it is overwhelmingly clear that while these events may have helped shaped recent attitude by politicians, the 2011 general elections seem more probable for the craze for armoured vehicles.

A report in a national daily with the headline: 2011 election: Politicians spend billions on armoured vehicles” in the Saturday Punch had a captivating pull about it to the effect that some government officials and politicians have started placing orders for armoured-plated vehicles in anticipation of violence during the 2011 elections.

I feel that Nigerians are either enigmatic, eclectic, egoistic or are simply eclipsed by all of these including sheer desires and flamboyancy such that if it were possible the masses should be wiped out of existence or to perpetually live in abject poverty and penury amidst plenty.

This is the reason for the avarice in high quarters that as soon as politicians are elected into office, the attraction to amass wealth is let loose and has been a dangerous vice controlling the Nigerian psyche and political landscape for years on since independence. It goes to show that our history of political responsibility is nil and nothing to be proud of.

According to the American Company producing the armoured vehicles, quoted by the news report, the brands of armoured vehicles requested for has a price range of N10,000,000 to N20,000 US dollars while most orders are for 2-3 units with a price range of about $400,000 to $600,000 US Dollars or an equivalent of between N60 million to N90 million. On the long run, billions of naira that could improve the life of the ordinary Nigerians would have been spent on importing armoured vehicles.

“Our passenger vehicles can also be armoured up to levels B6 (AK - 47 8M-16 Protection) and B7 Armour-piercing rifle protection”, said a source, Forstein from the manufactures of the vehicles.

It is unfortunate that our politicians would rather spend money for their own personal aggrandisement than for purposes of development.

Nigeria is ranked among the poorest countries of the world. Poor in physical infrastructure, lack of basic amenities, no good roads, lack of stable electricity which will continue to be a mirage while many have no homes to live in and feed from the dustbins.

Nigeria is a contradiction in terms and like a puzzles of letters and numbers. We can rearrange it if we get the formula right, from politics through to religion and economics, etcetera. However, this is further exacerbated by the jiggery-pokery that political leaders play on the people under the guise of manifestoes, to reel out unfulfilled electoral promises. I should rather add that apart from being one of the poorest countries of the world, Nigeria ranks amongst countries of the world with growing level of poverty of the mind by those who are put in a position of trust and leadership to govern the country.

I am further bewildered that for an election that is yet to come, Nigerians have become suddenly frenetic for an event that will happen in two years time. It reveals the fact that we don’t believe in the proposed electoral reforms and would do anything to thwart it, to bend the rules to achieve victories at all cost. We all watched the U.S.

Presidential elections and also the recent change of baton in Israel. Neighbouring Ghana is just too close to mention, while the elections there may not have been perfect, it was excellent in the sense that no major violence was recorded and leaders were produced without so much upheavals.

Is it the bolts and nuts of the Electoral Act that is the cause of violence or is it the thieving politicians who like to manipulate recorded votes to give their party victory?

While the Electoral Act should be amended to make it tidier to correct perceived loopholes, what happens on election day is entirely within our reach to control by urging party agents, political thugs, polling officials and everyone in the election process to play by the rules.

Political violence and assassination in Nigeria are most times orchestrated by politicians who use thugs to threaten and intimidate their opponents to submission and on election day snatch ballot boxes and shoot into the air sporadically to scare away voters.

They supply their thugs with sophisticated weapons that the police are no match for them. They take ballot boxes into the houses of political leaders and the ballot boxes are stuffed with their own voters’ cards already preprinted for the purpose. The system is depraved and the story does not change in any election year and the beat goes on. We are in quagmire but their is hope all the same.

Just as the politicians are importing armoured vehicles, very soon import of sophisticated arms will start arriving the country.

Perhaps, they are already being smuggled in.

We are trapped in a dangerous circle of violence. These arms, after elections come into the hands of very dangerous miscreants and armed robbers while the politicians retain their armoured vehicles to protect themselves from any attacks.

These tendencies by political leaders are morally reprehensible and criminally condemnable. It betrays thoughtlessness on the part of the politicians on the need of the people and suggestive that they think only of themselves. It is to be said that life can be accidental that whether armoured vehicles or no armoured vehicles, it is no guarantee or protection against death from election violence or other attacks. The only antidote against death from election violence is to be play by the rules and guidelines of the Electoral Act and we should stop engaging in political banditry and brigandage.

Once elected, projects should be executed by politicians to uplift the well-being of the people and not stash the peoples money into local and foreign accounts waiting to be used after leaving office.

MY REPLY TO THE NEWS FRONTPAGE-LULU ENABAIFOH THE CON MAN IN YARADUA GOVERNMENT.

Some times when you decide to criticize somebody in a manner that will attract readers sensibility, it is fair to draw a constructive criticism- that can be compared with history. There is somethin most nigerian writers , critics and other concern nigerians fail to grasp in this phenomenon called corruption. And it is, that- history has provided us with too many  evidence from different part of the globe on how   multinational companies shady practices, political corruptions, rich countries protectionist anti trust laws, discriminating bidding practices and illegal money laundry activities has contibuted to our present level of civilization. These things are contributory drivers of industrialisation or what ever name you can call it. You can not eliminate them from the system/society.One way or the other they fit in the web of economic development. For instance the american way of life we are trying to imitate  today was built by irish, italian and jewish immigrants, who  refused to continue living in poverty and slumps in rat infected areas as harlem and brooklyn(at the time). They aggressively result to making money by any means neccessary- to find a better life for themselves. This resulted in the rise in organise criminal activities and hence the Mafia. They made a lot of money through their illegal activities, and as their businesses became bigger, they consolidate their internal structure. After that they began to make this money clean- by investing in legitimate businesses and real estates.Hence the emergence of what you know today as Wall Street( most of the busineses traded there are owned by the great grand children of these people). Also, all those posh areas in central park manhattan in newyork and the casinos in las vegas and atlantic city was built by these people. Also go back in history, and trace the background of all american presidents from the 1920s till date- they have got ties with the men of the underworld. From F.D Roosvelt( linked to Tammany Hall racketeering n political corruption), Lnydnon Johnson(Edgar Hoovers Connection with the mafia), John F Kennedy( Father was a bootleeger in chicago- his death was even linked to the mobb and FBI), Pres Nixon,Republican Senator Mccain(Wife parents riches linked to the haydays of prohibition), even clinton not to talk of our saint obama who started his political career in a state whose political structure has been corrupted long before he was born by the famous ALphonse Capone( there are also stories of his relationship with corrupt rich jews). So readers, the nigerian case is not different. My advice will be for us to look for ways to use corruption to facilitate economic growth and development- for we can not stop it. Instead we can make something creative with it. or what do you think? In america- sometimes, the CIA, and other government agencies work with organise crime bosses and mobsters to achieve an objective that will be of national interest. For example the invasion of cuba, and the successful invasion and defeat of Italy under Benito Musillini during WW11.Nigerians and our leaders should think and stop shouting criminals in government everyday.Such kindergaten reasoning is far from the level of intelligence required to attain leadership in world affairs.
your reason being? not bad for a first post i must add.

Barely few hours after she was delivered of a set of sextuplets, the first of such medical feat in the state, the mother of the babies, Mrs. Amidat Bello in the early hours of yesterday died of complications arising from the delivery.

Bello, 32 and a trader from Ijebu-Igbo, in Ijebu North Local Government Area of the Ogun State was delivered of the set of babies, three males and females at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching hospital, Sagamu last Saturday.
Mrs. Bello who had her first child in 2005 was delivered of the sextuplets at 4a.m. on Saturday by a team of medical doctors led by Dr. P.O. Adefuye.

Sources close to the tertiary health institution told Daily Sun that Bello who initially did not show any sign of complication late Saturday developed a post-delivery medical problems and efforts to safe her life proved abortive.
“This is not cheering news. We did all we could do as a team of doctors, but regrettably, the mother of the babies died. It is painful and very unfortunate,” the source told Daily Sun.

However, he refused to disclose the cause of her death even though he stated that “for such a spectacular delivery, anything could have happened. We can’t say exactly the cause or causes of the death. May God give her peaceful rest in the bosom of our Lord.”
A member of the hospital’s management who also spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the death, lamenting: “It is very unfortunate that we lost the mother. But we are making sure that the children are well taken care of.”

(a) all men are sinners. “There is no man who does not sin” (I Kings 8:46; see also 2 Chronicles 6:36; Proverbs 20:9; Ecclesiastes 7:20; and I John 1:810)
(b) No true christians are sinners because they are the children of God. “Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God, (I John 5:1). “We should be called children of God; and so we are” (I John 3: 1). “He who loves is born of God” (I John 4:7). “No one born of God commits sin; for God’s nature abides in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God” (I John 3:9). Why won't he go to court?

And this is why Male Abuse continues without proper justice from the law.

As much as it is hard for naija men to believe, some men out there would never lay their hands on women because that's how they were taught.

Punching her back won't make things right. Better go to court to get a divorce  or arrest her arse.

Because if she goes to court to report him, her word goes simply because she's a woman.

MALE ABUSE is worse than FEMALE ABUSE because it's rarely believed in the court and it's kept under lock and key to prevent embarrassment.
thank you.
