Don't mind some girls who accept to date guys here, upon all the rubbish guys here spill about women. Calling ladies olosho, hungry leeches, hoes, bitches, rotten pussies etc. A lady will still open her korokoro eye fall for their trap? Chai! cry

Anyways Op ,sorry for the distasteful experience, next time u will steer clear from guys on this website. Although not all of them are bad but it's better to avoid guys on Nairaland than come online opening threads with stories that touch.
Such as this one.
Just chat friendly and move on. No need wasting your time having high hopes of a good future with any here, cos it's not written on their foreheads.
Some guys here are genuine and principled. But would you ladies accept to date such good guys? No! You would rather fall for aszholes who you use and dump you.

My humble self has been searching for a lady who would prove herself different from the rest and deserving of my love and honesty, but none has proven herself worthy! I know myself very well that I would so love and respect any lady who would prove herself different from the rest of you. I'm also sure that there are other guys like me in this forum. But alas, you'll continue to fall for the ones that would use and dump you. That's the harsh reality!

There's nothing bad about that advice. You men have made it so difficult for women to love.

Back to topic

There are two sides of a story
The babe should better get over it ASAP. This one is married already, no need wasting tears on him. And by the way, how can she not even know she was the side chick in over a year of dating. There must have been signs and signals.
I'm really disappointed in her
And you women are angels abihuh Oh! I forgot, guys are the ones that deserve all the hurts in this life! They have no emotions after all, so ladies are free to use and dump them after finishing all his money, energy and everything.

@topic, the bros must have seen that the lady in question isn't a wife material, so he went for someone better. God bless his new home!

duty of clinical pharmacists is not to prescribe drugs just as we outlined previously. there are clinical programme designed for pharmacists who want to prescribe.
primary duty of pharmacists is not prescription of drugs and clinical care just as primary role of physicians is not dispensing of medications. of courses physicians do dispense drugs https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physician_dispensing.
At least you now agree that a pharmacist prescribes!

Going through your link - though not clear, what i can deduce is that "physician dispensing" is just the right of the physician to administer dispensed drugs to the patient at the bedside by means of injections. It is different from ethical dispensing!

where did you see o and g, nephrology , cardiology. Most of your info are half truths. clinical pharmacy is a branch of pharmacy. from your link,Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) currently recognizes the following eight specialty practice areas:
Ambulatory Care Pharmacy
Critical Care Pharmacy
Nuclear Pharmacy
Nutrition Support Pharmacy
Oncology Pharmacy
Pediatric Pharmacy
Pharmacotherapy
Psychiatric Pharmacy of pharmacy.
what are duties of clinical pharmacists? to prescribe? no.
What is a clinical pharmacist?
Clinical pharmacists work directly with physicians, other health professionals, and patients to ensure that the medications prescribed for patients contribute to the best possible health outcomes. Clinical pharmacists practice in health care settings where they have frequent and regular interactions with physicians and other health professionals, contributing to better coordination of care.
Clinical pharmacists are educated and trained in many direct patient care environments, including medical centers, clinics, and a variety of other health care settings. Clinical pharmacists are frequently granted patient care privileges by collaborating physicians and/or health systems that allow them to perform a full range of medication decision-making functions as part of the patient’s health care team. These privileges are granted on the basis of the clinical pharmacist’s demonstrated knowledge of medication therapy and record of clinical experience. This specialized knowledge and clinical experience is usually gained through residency training and specialist board certification.
What do clinical pharmacists do?
Clinical pharmacists:
Assess the status of the patient’s health problems and determine whether the prescribed medications are optimally meeting the patient’s needs and goals of care.
Evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of the patient’s medications.
Recognize untreated health problems that could be improved or resolved with appropriate medication therapy.
Follow the patient’s progress to determine the effects of the patient’s medications on his or her health.
Consult with the patient’s physicians and other health care providers in selecting the medication therapy that best meets the patient’s needs and contributes effectively to the overall therapy goals.
Advise the patient on how to best take his or her medications.
Support the health care team’s efforts to educate the patient on other important steps to improve or maintain health, such as exercise, diet, and preventive steps like immunization.
Refer the patient to his or her physician or other health professionals to address specific health, wellness, or social services concerns as they arise.
How do clinical pharmacists care for patients?
Clinical pharmacists:
Provide a consistent process of patient care that ensures the appropriateness, effectiveness, and safety of the patient’s medication use.
Consult with the patient’s physicians and other health care providers to develop and implement a medication plan that can meet the overall goals of patient care established by the health care team.
Apply specialized knowledge of the scientific and clinical use of medications, including medication action, dosing, adverse effects, and drug interactions, in performing their patient care activities in collaboration with other members of the health care team.
Call on their clinical experience to solve health problems through the rational use of medications.
Rely on their professional relationships with patients to tailor their advice to best meet individual patient needs and desires.

on prescribing pharmacists, check out this:

NB: The goal is not to take the jobs of the physician but to assist in optimizing patient care . The physician makes the diagnosis and consults the pharmacists on matters related to drugs. At the end the patient gets the best care at good cost.

If you call the official website of the American college of clinical pharmacists useless then I'll not argue further with you because you obviously don't just want to be informed.

For your information, I chose pharmacy in my direct entry not because I couldn't gain admission to medicine but because I prefer pharmacy. In my post UDE exam, I scored higher than the cut off point for medicine. Need i inform you that I also enrolled with a 2-1 in biochemistry.

I'll choose pharmacy over medicine anytime I'm asked to choose. Thank you!

Separation of prescribing and dispensing, also called dispensing separation, is a practice in medicine and pharmacy in which the physician who provides a medical prescription is independent from the
pharmacist who provides the prescription drug.
In the Western world there are centuries of tradition for separating pharmacists from physicians. In Asian countries it is traditional for physicians to also provide drugs.
In contemporary time researchers and health policy analysts have more deeply considered these traditions and their effects. Advocates for separation and advocates for combining make similar claims for each of their conflicting perspectives, saying that separating or combining reduces conflict of interest in the healthcare industry,
unnecessary health care , and lowers costs, while the opposite causes those things. Research in various places reports mixed outcomes in different circumstances.
Background
In jurisdictions (such as the United States ),
pharmacists are regulated separately from
physicians. These jurisdictions also usually specify that only pharmacists may supply scheduled pharmaceuticals to the public, and that pharmacists cannot form business
partnerships with physicians or give them "kickback" payments. However, the American Medical Association (AMA) Code of Ethics provides that physicians may dispense drugs within their office practices as long as there is no patient exploitation and patients have the right to a written prescription that can be filled elsewhere. 7 to 10 percent of American physicians practices reportedly dispense drugs on their own.[1]

Op I must be realistic with you. Your best bait is to go for your masters and PhD so you can become a lecturer. Along the line, take up teaching jobs in sec schools to support yourself financially and also do a diploma in education to give you an edge.

Prepare your mind for the above while you pray for a miracle to happen along the way so you can probably land a job in other big organizations.

Don't listen to anybody telling you that you will work as medical representative! You have no knowledge of pharmacology and no good pharmaceutical company will employ you for such because the job requires a sound knowledge of pharmacology to deliver. There are medical detailing to be done, clinical meetings and so on. You need to convince the doctors and healthcare professionals on why they should prescribe your drugs. Good companies know that only pharmacists are in a position to do that job. That is why they spend money to employ pharmacists for the role. Only poor companies, mostly one-man businesses who cannot afford to pay pharmacists would employ just anybody to pay them peanuts. I was once a victim of such poor companies and so i am advising you from experience. Follow my advice above or write JAMB to choose a better course. A word is enough for the wise!

remember those who died on Lagos ibadan expressway
They were burnt to death due to negligence of standards

There are SO MANY deaths avoidable in Nigeria
Honestly!!! Nigeria is such hellhole! Nothing works here. No standards. No laws. Road transportation is a mess. Anybody can just wake up one day and start driving without training. Without learning the basic traffic rules. If you ask them they claim they are "hustling". Drunkards, drug addicts, psychotic patients, everybody is a driver. The so called FRSC is there just for the sake of being there, while the officers take bribe from defaulters of traffic rules. Many substandard transport companies like "peace mass" are there killing poor Nigerians on daily basis without the people in authority doing anything to checkmate them.

The picture in my previous post is an accident scene where "peace mass transit" roasted innocent Nigerians traveling from abuja to enugu. I lost someone close to me in that accident and it is painful!
If "peace mass" had stopped employing alcoholics and drug addicts, if they had ensured strict compliance to road transport rules, some of these deaths would have been averted. Too bad!

Education › Re: My Kids Must Study Only These Courses In The University by Jman06(m): 6:57pm On Aug 22, 2018
I can understand where op is coming from. Some courses are not just marketable in Nigeria. I studied biochem before going to study pharmacy. During my stay in the labour market, i saw hell. 90% of my course mates in school have not gotten any reasonable job 6years after graduation. Even those that have done masters! It is that bad!
The truth is that most of those BSc science courses where designed to train researchers and teachers of those courses, but that can only be feasible if government and wealthy individuals and organizations provide research grants and scholarships to our universities. In the west, enough grants are made available to universities to carry out researches and from such grants, graduates of those courses get enrolled to study up to PhD and become full-time researchers/lecturers.

For now, I won't advice anybody to study those courses, except if their parents are wealthy enough to support them through further studies or secure a job for them. Instead of studying those courses, the person should go learn a skilled work or a trade. It's better that way tbh.

Gr8amechi:
Let me correct your ignorance, first no one is saying MBBS is equivalent to PhD and second no one said doctors would be given MBBS and automatically start to lecture basic medical courses.
Now let me clear you, the point is there has always been three routes for an MBBS doctor, one is residency, one is private practice and the next is academic, which is masters and PhD.
Now what they are implying is what 90% of those who went through medical school has one time agitated for, what we want is let MBBS doctors who have PhD in anatomy, physiology or medical biochemistry be the people who would take medical students only.
Let me give you an example in my school back then, we had an MBBS doctor who has a PhD in anatomy and majored in histology and he is also a fellow, meaning he is also a consultant histopathologist. Now my question is do you think someone who has just PhD in anatomy would teach histology better than him?? Back then in Preclinical histology was like the easiest course because you would understand what you are seeing on the microscope.
Now let me correct what you don't know there is something called clinical pharmacology and for your information you can't understand clinical pharmacology without clinical skills and knowledge of other aspects of medicine.
Medical doctors are not God and they don't claim to know it all, but until you attend a medical school please keep shut. Try and go online and understand the curriculum of medicine and surgery then you would understand.
Becoming a clinical pharmacology means you would study a further 5 to 6 years after gaining your MBBS, so stop parading your ignorance.
Check Usmle review videos how many pharmacology did you see a pharmacist teaching?? How many microbiology did you see someone not a medical doctor teach??
It's stupid when some of you generalize about doctors. Just Google the first 5 neuroanatomist in Nigeria and know how many have MBBS Google the first professor of
Dematoglyfics in the sub-Saharan African, Every field is important and unique but no field is equal
Stop posting jargon here! There is a reason why that level is called preclinical. All you need at that level are the basic understanding of those subjects to proceed to the clinical stage of medical studies. Anybody who has studied up to PhD in those subjects can deliver those basic knowledge. Even checking through the profiles of authors of some of the textbooks used at that level of medical study would reveal that many of them are not medical doctors but people with PhD in those subjects and they teach medical students.

Clinical pharmacology is not specific to medicine and medical doctors! A check through wikipedia would inform you about that. It is a research-oriented discipline that is open to healthcare professionals including pharmacists who are interested in research in that area. Most research-oriented courses are multidisciplinary btw.

on PhD matter, mdcn/npmcn/wacp/nma are on it with nuc. soon, medical students will be taught by doctors only that is best way of producing sound doctors. know that. nothing can change that. doctors will continue to prescribe drugs while pharmacists will continue to dispense and point to prescription errors. But tell pharmacists to stop prescribing and dispensing drugs in their stores. It is illegal to do the same.
No problems! Med doctors should exchange their medical practice with teaching anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. But they must be ready to get a PhD in those fields!! That is the "international best practice"! Nigerian doctors cannot change the standards just for their selfish ends. NUC should also ensure that no doctor in the academia would be in private practice because that would negatively affect their academic works.

Until Nigerian doctors stop employing quacks to dispense drugs in their clinics, pharmacists would continue to prescribe drugs! After all, they are in a better position to do that given their training in pathology of common diseases!
Education › Re: Lecturers Who Are Not Doctors ‘should No Longer’ Teach Medical Students by Jman06(m): 8:38am On Aug 22, 2018
You see what i have been sayinghuh Nigerian medical doctors have totally lost it! So, by this, a great majority of them will now proceed to get an MSc and PhD in the basic medical sciences so they could start teaching anatomy, physiology and biochemistry to medical students while leaving behind other lofty medical specialties. For your information, minimum requirement for lecturing is a PhD so don't even think that NUC will allow you replace PhD with MBBS because no where in the world is an MBBS equal to a PhD. So, you guys should get ready to spend years of academic research to earn a PhD.

And for the guy alluding that medical doctors know pharmacology more than pharmacists, let me inform you that every action of a drug resides in its chemical structure and studying the chemical structures of drugs is within the domains of pharmaceutical chemistry which pharmacists study for 4-5 years. Modifying the structures of these drugs through various means ( including factors within and outside the human system) changes the actions of the drugs. So, tell me how a med doctor who has no knowledge of drug chemistry would know the effects of the drug better than a pharmacist.
That you are allowed to prescribe drugs is an anomaly which has resulted to so many deaths. That is why the pharmacist must be there in the hospitals not only to ethically dispense the drugs but to also screen your prescriptions to pinpoint prescription errors.

My friends, you can never know it all! Do your parts and let others do theirs.

Health › Why Are Our Nigerian Doctors Busy Engaging In Unnecessary Fights??? by Jman06(op): 1:40pm On Aug 21, 2018
My people have a story about a certain hunter who after a successful hunting in the bush was returning home with carcasses of giant animals he was able to kill in the bush, like elephants et al, on his head. Then on his way back, he came across a mushroom that was sprouting from the ground and tried to uproot it to add to the animals he already had on his head. Unknown to him the mushroom happened to be the very toxic type. So, on getting home, he asked his wife to prepare a meal with all the animals he killed, including the poisonous mushroom. That was how his entire household got killed after eating the meal.

The above story can be likened to the case of Nigerian medical doctors whose insecurities have caused to engage in unnecessary fights and professional rivalries with other healthcare professionals. Medicine is a very broad profession comprising several different specialties like O$G, cardiology, surgery (of different parts of the body), urology, family medicine, paediatrics to mention but a few. Any serious medical doctor can make a niche for himself in any of these numerous specialties, but Nigerian doctors would not! They would rather want to start dragging spaces with nurses, medical lab scientists, pharmacists, radiographers etc.
That is the ugly situation of things in our healthcare sector with the patients at the receiving end.
When their counterparts in the rest of the world are busy becoming experts in the different medical specialties, they are here engaging in fights that are totally uncalled for. My doc friends, please change for the good of our health sector and patients. Thanks as you change!

I was Super agile. Maybe if a man mounted me I would have sucked and bannged him till he died lol
You are right. That is what tramadol does. But the problem is that those feelings of agility would get one addicted to the drug and when one wants to quit using the drug, it becomes a problem because one starts experiencing the withdrawal effects such as weakness, nightmares etc. Besides, long term use of the drug could lead to organ failure.

In a nutshell, tm is effective for pains and inflammations when used as prescribed, but it should never be abused because of the devastating effects it will have when abused.
