And if my mum raised it, I will tell her she wanted to but I didn't allow it.

She's meant to meet my family not to cook for them, my mother has always been doing the cooking.

If I should follow her to their own house,I met her father doing some stuff, am I obliged to join him?

I am not
If you met her father hanging yams in the barn, won't be a bad idea handing him them tubers to tie though.

I stand corrected. I never knew Oro is a god on it's own. I initially tot Oro is a festival to get human blood for sacrifice.
It is. Oro festival is held by members of the Oro cult to worship Oro god. During the festival, rituals see carried out which sometimes include human sacrifice. Other cults have their own festivals to other gods which sometimes include animal sacrifice.

You have answered my question. You know human blood is being sacrificed to those Yoruba gods and I mentioned the name of some Yoruba gods
Human blood is not sacrificed to Obatala, Ogun and Yemoja–only animals are sacrificed. Their followers will feel insulted if they read your post. It's Oro that human blood is sacrificed to. You don't know the cult of one god is different from that of another and that each god has his or her own followers. You should ask questions.

When next they're doing Oro in a neigbourbood you know, come and go out there at night and meet the Oro people and ask them who they sacrifice to. You don't know Oro is a god, abi?

Also search all the babalawo houses around that side.

Most of the Yoruba traditional cults don't kill people. Oro, yes. But Obatala, Ogun and Yemoja? Where you hear that one?

richmond500:
The essence of these policies is to kill importation business and make Nigeria a production country.
Your business is not the only business that is dying, many business that depends on dollar has closed down and more will close too.

Time is coming when Naira will hit 5000 to a dollar. When this happens, foreign products will be difficult to purchase and we will have no choice but to buy made in Nigeria goods cos even a pair of foreign pants will be so expensive that only politicians can afford it while the rest of us will wear plantain leaves.

It's so annoying that the average secondary school student knows the dollar to naira exchange rate, that shows how we depend so much on the dollar and killing our own naira.
Until we patronize our own companies, we can't grow the economy, this painful stage is called the transition stage from foreign to local, the govt is not the problem but the time it takes Nigerians to accept the Nigerian goods will determine how long the pain will last.

In the next five years, we will fully accept our own economy and in the next ten years, we will have an economy that will beat France and Germany cos we have the market already.
You're clueless.

Now picture this:

You take a child taught "computer science" in this manner and place him in an academic competition on computer science with a child who learnt the science with a first grade laptop. What will happen? It's obvious what will happen. It's obvious who will appear mentally challenged and who will emerge looking like Einstein. You might wonder where I am going with this.

In the States, there are many misguided social scientists who routinely insist that the statistics disclose that white children have a higher IQ than their black counterparts. The problem I have with this is simple. It is so unnuanced as to fail to take into consideration the socio economic realities of both demographics. The vast majority of black children come from significantly poorer homes, suffer from lack of equal access to the quality educational materials which wealthier people can afford, dwell in crime ridden neighborhoods and all too often in broken homes. In addition to this they have inherited poverty and prejudice in the same way as many of their white counterparts have inherited wealth and privilege. You cannot realistically put both before the same examination and expect the same result.

And yet opponents of CRT (Critical Race Theory) hasten to scream that the black population do not suffer from any overhang of slavery, segregation and racism. A thing so absurd it is painful to think on it. Only a person who believes wealth cannot be inherited would ridiculously claim that poverty cannot be inherited.
Sure. Even as far back as 1900, there was a guy telling the whites in South Africa that blacks kids would do just as well if given the same opportunities as whites. Yes, I think generational/inherited trauma is also a factor in addition to socioeconomics. I wrote a post on this a while back.

I really don't know that any such hierarchy of intellect has been established. I will tell you why. Because many of the parameters used to arrive at such conclusions are simply not nuanced enough: they do not take into consideration key factors. Such as socio economic background.

Let me do this by simply giving you my response to a video I saw in a WhatsApp group I belong to. The video was of little children being taught computer science in an African school without any computers. It was sad to watch. I will paste my response to the video in the next post. And I hope you will see what I mean.
Well, that's what the RAW DATA says. What we make of it we make of it. Yes, lots of nuances missed in situations like this. Blacks in US and Blacks in Africa are all black - yet Blacks in US are higher on this "hierarchy" - that should tell us something. But it's pretty widely accepted among experts that socioeconomic background is a factor in intelligence.

Oh, ok. The thread I linked to is where I expressed some thoughts on issues related to this matter - in several posts. Not that I argued either way. I was just putting out and pointing out facts (whichever direction they lead). That said, the issue of racial superiority is an interesting and sensitive subject – which is why many experts just leave it alone. How do we even approach it? We know average IQ varies by ethnicity (meaning some races are NOMINALLY smarter than others), with Ashkenazi Jews, the Japanese and the Koreans scoring highest and Blacks in Africa scoring least. But are the whole range of things that make a people do well and advance their civilization covered by IQ? Does nominal IQ even cover the range of intelligence? And how much does IQ corelate with output? Interesting subject.
Politics › Re: Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) Among Nigerian States In 2022 by JuanDeDios: 2:27pm On Oct 24, 2023
Mynd44:
As much as this is correct, it is not completely true

The way to grow your Per Capital Income (PCI) is to grow your GDP and this can only be done with funds. The government has to make sustainable developments into the various sectors. The government also has to support small and medium scale businesses and attract large scale ones.

How can any government do this? by spending. By building more roads, more rails, more sea access, electricity etc. And this is where IGR comes in.

If a state has an IGR of 10 Billion, how can such a state build infrastructure to develop the economy?

IGR is also a show of how much economic activity is going on as this is why taxes are paid in the first place.
Bolded is the meat of the matter. IGR is a fair indicator of how much activities are going on in the state.

@me
Tower aluminum has not left Nigeria. Tower and first aluminum shutdown their rolling mills because of uncontrolled importation of cheap and substandard Chinese aluminum products.

Presently what they do is to import flat sheets and coat. In addition, they import cheap Asian aluminum products. They are still around.
That's sad.

3 In the third position is Abiodun - governor of Ogun state. I have been hearing so much about his ineptitude. Even though Ogun state is the home state of some of the most prominent Nigerians, the state seem to be lacking in good governance and Abiodun happens to be a typical example of this phenomenon.

2 Sitting in the second position is Uzodimma - the one fondly called Ozodimgba is the governor of Imo state. He has literally supervised the carnage in his state encouraging the federal government to create theatre of war in the state he governs. There has been incidence of massacre of innocent civilians, displacement of communities and burning of villages by the Nigerian soldiers and he feels that will guarrantee his hold on Imo state.

1 Sitting in the first position of the worst governors is Chukwuma Soludo - Governor of Anambra state. In one of his numerous promises is making Anambra the Dubai/Taiwan of Africa. He also promised Anambra would be one huge construction site during his tenure. As we speak, we never see Awolowo's head, talkless of Azikiwe's. He has been in Ekwulobia with the out of priority project for more than a year constructing one flyover while Willie Obiano adjudged one of the most incapable governors did three flovers in a space of three months. In the Omanbala region where i reside, he has closed all refuse dumpsites leaving people with nowhere to dispose their refuse.
The hungry boy that is paid to defend him here on nairaland, should help tell me where in Omabala region comprising of 5 local governments does Soludo have one single project going on other than hanging banners of solution is here in every nook and crany of the state especially where the previous administrations sited projects.

Soludo remains a total tragedy to Ndi Anambra

Which are ur worst??
My worst are Dapo Abiodun, Godwin Obaseki and Yahaya Bello.
