He must be referring to nominal GDP growth rate and not the real.
Of course. Not that it makes much difference. Double digit growth is a mirage for now - and for as long as the fundamental problems are not addressed.

Sorry but what has she done to deserve the reputation of a SAN? Someone educate me.
We know what likes of Ozekhome and Gani did to elevated to the SAN level but now being married to a top lawyer gives one the access to become a SAN
Femi Falana keeps deceiving that he is a human rights activist. Wasn't he one of the first people to validate Tinubu;s election by saying 25% in Abuja doesn't matter.
You were actually making sense until you got to the last line. The fact you think 25% of Abuja matters doesn't mean it does or that the law says so.
Family › Re: Giving Birth To Your Own Child Is Not A Sacrifice by JuanDeDios: 2:29pm On Nov 28, 2023
Solofresh2:
I came across this thread https://www.nairaland.com/7922825/husband-before-ask-wife-what and I see the OP trying to justify the saying "what does a woman brings to the table" anthem by men nowadays.

Saying a woman facing a difficult time giving birth to her child is a sacrifice is a no no.It is natural for a woman to give birth to a child, either difficulty or not.

It is also natural for a man to releases sperm,so as to impregnate a woman.

If a man find it difficult to impregnate a woman, will you call that a sacrifice too?

Infact, sacrifice is when a man provides everything for his woman because it is not compulsory.

Anybody can make money to provide for their own needs, not always waiting for your man to do everything for you.

It is your responsibility as a woman to carry your pregnancy if you want a child.
Having a child is a sacrifice on the part of both parents. The work involved no be here.

Man of the people!

The pride of Edo state!

Phillip has everything it takes to deliver and pilot Edo state to greater heights.

Its just a pity he served under the current furniture in the government house, cos that will put a little dent on his image.

The furniture was a complete failure!
Can you elaborate a little? What makes Mr Shaibu competent to lead Edo to greater heights?

It is still a win win for the Landlord. The Landlord will simply tell her to fix the apartment the way she met it and collect her caution fees. Na now she buy market that may take her to prison for malicious damage.
There is no way you will park into a house and the house will remain the same when you are parking out. What of the wear and tear on the house fittings like the doors, tiles, wardrobe, wall paints etc
Are they not damages? How do you quantity such damages?
Oga landlord, well done. Caution deposit ought to be refunded - if there is no significant structural damage CAUSED BY THE TENANT. Normal wear and tear does not count, as that is expected.

She deserves to be arrested, is the caution fee worth the amount of damages she caused? How many months did she live there rent free? Tenants believe if they're given six months quit notice, they're free to live in the apartment rentfree till the duration elapses. How much did she stay without paying rent before finally moving out? The landlord must make sure she pays for every single damage caused, pay for the extra months she stayed then give her the caution fee. Insufferable people like these is why some of us are weary about building apartments for rent.
Live there rent-free? Does the story say that? I think this is about a small-minded person doing damage as "pay back" to a landlord who refused to refund her caution deposit (as Lagos landlords, the greedy lot that many of them are, usually do).
Politics › Re: Oba Of Benin Visits Governor Sanwo-Olu (Photos & Videos) by JuanDeDios: 7:07am On Nov 27, 2023
alcuin:
There was nothing like "Yoruba" at the time. Yoruba is a modification of a derogatory word used by the Fulanis/Hausas to refer to the peoples of South Western Nigeria today. The Binis also played a role in shaping the Yoruba nation of today. But that's a story for another day.

Yes, the Bini stool is affiliated to Ile Ife through Oduduwa, but Oduduwa himself is an alien from faraway land, to say the least. So if Oduduwa is not indigenous to Ife, tell me how the Bini stool is affiliated to the "Yoruba".
Another angool.

This is what happens when democracy cripples the so giant of Africa with strands of old cultures.

Oba no dey travel is an acronym used to paint the bini walls in the ancient times.

Wealth and Affluence was the resources of Bini indigene.

There women are clothed with rubies and cowries.

There men are warriors with spade and knives, strong to the brim and can face even a hunter with gun.

Today civilization have crippled a so called tradition that sprout up the diversity of a nation.

I weep for forth coming generation

I weep for the new OBA of Benin.

He will be called OBA of Benin in USA.
Some people want to remain stuck in 1784. Man is travelling for important missions to protect and advance the interest of his people. What exactly is gained from isolation? Enjoy your nostalgia of swords and spears and once-greatness though. We love peace and democracy.

SaintUlot:
With the rate at which Nigerians are leaving Nigeria, you will think with N50k you can japa from that country. Every Tom, Dick and Harry have left, the remaining ones are just waiting to buy their flight ticket.

I doubt if we still have up to 1 million people left in Nigeria at this time. So where is that multidimensional poverty statistics coming from? If almost everybody can afford the cost of Japa that doesn't come cheap. This makes me to come to the conclusion that, Nigerians might not have money in their bank account, but majority have tangible assets that can be easily converted to cash if the need arises.
We're more than 200 million. That's the fact you're missing. There's always the 10% or so of that who can afford anything.

The only way I think the sheep 🐑 can be exported is via the meat processing facilities. Live sheep cannot be exported via shipping containers. They will first need to be processed to meat and other stuff, then exported. Also, the distance from Australia to a place like Nigeria will make the landing cost of the sheep quite expensive.
Sebi we're importing adire from China and garri from India? I guess a way can be found to import mutton from Australia profitably.

The threat issued by Portable to Charles Okocha has sparked a fierce quarrel between the two Nigerian figures. Portable alleges that Okocha deceived him by keeping 40 million Naira from show promoters in Desmond, Abuja, and only giving him 5 million Naira. He accused Okocha of being unfair and branded him a thief.

In response, Okocha claimed that he was the brains behind the deal and had only invited Portable as a guest, flying him from Lagos to Abuja. Okocha clarified that there was no formal agreement, so he paid Portable what he thought was appropriate – 5 million Naira.

Feeling shortchanged, Portable challenged Okocha to a confrontation in Lagos, hinting at potential physical altercation if Okocha dared to show up there. Portable said;

This altercation has stirred up a storm on the internet, with fans divided on whether it’s a publicity stunt or genuine animosity between the two controversial celebrities.

Health › Re: Brushing Before Or After Eating In The Morning. Which Is Best Practice? by JuanDeDios: 8:59am On Nov 21, 2023
osasere06:
I have often wondered the correct thing to do as regards this issue.

Ordinarily I was brought up in a home where my mother made it compulsory for us to brush before eating in the morning and of course before going to bed.

Going forwards during my undergraduate days, I was again indoctrinated with the idea that brushing after breakfast keeps one mouth cleaner and free from debris throughout the day.

Recently, my girlfriend sees this as a dirty behaviour and has frowned at it severally. Please whats the way forward on this issue?

Kindly help
Before. But that's if you didn't brush before bed last night, which you should.

If you brushed last thing before bed last night, you should brush after breakfast - obviously, since there isn't much to brush when you woke up. But if you're brushing AFTER food, you must leave at least 30min (preferably 1 hr) before brushing to avoid damaging your gums and suffering from teeth sensitivity.

If you marry a lady via court wedding and you didnt pay her bride price are you legally married to her.
Yes. But that's in the eyes of the law only. You're her husband not but not in the eyes of her family "elders". That means they won't recognise you as their SIL and you can't participate in extended family events as a family member. Everything else, you're good.

I know ladies who didn't bother with trad for their second marriage (after a divorce). They felt they didn't want to go through that again since village people had eaten on top their head already.
