Captaincool1: This is what I was sent some weeks back.
You will be sponsored initially for a 4 years working visa in the position of Senior Support Worker, earning 28k pounds a year. The visa can be extended if need be.
These are the official financial outlays. Sponsorship licence for visa is 1655 pounds Visa Application fee is 610 pounds NHS Health surcharge 624 pounds each year 3yrs is 1872pounds Proof of 1270 pounds in hand to initially settle in UK. With tfare amounts to 6.5k pounds
You need to get an international driving lincence and should be able to drive from Nigeria.
Please what's your take. This is a scam, very silly one to be honest, they couldn't even get basic info right. |

Awhyxlim: Good day everyone, please does anyone know about life in Middlesbrough and Bradford. Got admission to Teesside University and University of Bradford also. Don't know which to go for. I need to decide based on chances of getting a job, accommodation life, proximity to cities and town life in general. please anyone with first hand knowledge. I have googled these things but keep seeing various answers and views. Thank you. Bradford is an affordable city and the university is just 2-3mins walk to city centre, there are student accommodations around the university and post codes like BD5 and BD7, student jobs are not difficult to get though with covid it will be difficult to get a job, you can also look for job in Leeds which just 20mins away by train and much lively and developed city than Bradford. That area of the university is very very lively and busy because of the university and college there and also a good number of night clubs. |

Also, what is the acceptable passport validity before applying for visa because one of them has a passport that expires in less than 3 months.Thanks. I’m not sure if they have one, you can get that done outside the embassy. I suggest you renew the passport else very soon your kid will be travelling with two passports. |

demmysoft: I was denied entry visa today, kindly advise on what to do please, in fact, totally confused.
I don't know why the consular stated things that is totally different from what I said, may be the consular didn't pick my pronunciation.
Should I go for administrative review or should re-apply asap. Thanks find below reason for Reasons for Decision Your application has been refused for the following reason(s): You were interviewed by this office on 04/02/2021. You confirmed that you wished to study a MSc Cybersecurity at the Teesside University. You stated that you chose this university as it was affordable and because your line manager recommended it, you stated ‘that he is an alumni there’ and that ‘It’s academic curriculum, module and teaching are in line with my career goal’.
You also stated that ‘They have a very well-resourced IT lab’. These answers are generic and could be applied to many UK Universities. You stated that currently work in IT and your job title is a ‘network analyst’ and you wish to become a ‘cyber security architect’ after completion of the MSc Cybersecurity course, therefore it is not unreasonable to expect you to have some knowledge in IT security. You were asked ‘Could you tell me what a Denial of Service DOS attack is’ you replied ‘When you try to access a service and you are denied access because you are not an authorised user’, then when asked how you protect against this kind of attack you stated ‘Installing a very strong fire wall. With a very strong passport’. You were also asked ‘In IT security terms, what is Phishing?’ you replied ‘When you are true person sending the mail’. Your answers do not correctly describe what a Denial of Service DOS attack is or what Phishing is, it is expected that someone who is about to embark on MSc in Cybersecurity would be able to provide answers to basic questions on cybersecurity.
Given your answers regarding why you choose this course, the knowledge of IT security youhave demonstrated and your amount of money it will cost you to gain a further qualification, I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of S.T 5.1 and that you are a genuine student.
AR version 3.0 June 2018 Next steps Apply for an administrative review. You may only apply for an administrative review if you think there has been a case working error.

This is really ridiculous. What's Nairaland turning into? I guess it's time to activate guest mode.
So, let me just respond to all my mentions here once and for all:
I was told since my covid test was negative, I didn't have to observe quarantine period. My application took exactly two weeks while my wife's took 2 months and three days. Probably her application took that long because of the sudden rise in covid in December. But now that the infection rate is going down and/or they now have some vaccines, I think application should not take that long. I can't really give a definite answer as to how long your application will take but the earlier you submit the better.
I would like to suggest that you should back up every claim with relevant documents. That may help to facilitate decision on you application.
You are welcome

I have Bsc mathematics (2.2) with about 10years experience in Banking, my wife has BA English (2.2) and runs her personal Business. My plan is for either of us to go for Masters while the other will be working.
my concerns are as follows. 1) which school accept 2.2 for masters program 2) who stands a better chance of gaining admission and who stands a better chance of getting a Job (since the plan is for either of us to go for Masters while the other will be working) 3) Can N5million run the whole package (upfront payment of school fees, VISA processing and others, excluding the POF) 1. Some universities in the UK will accept 2.2 2. I guess with your 10 years work experience you stand a better chance 3. 5m will not go anywhere close , it may take care of school fees depending on your school ranking and course but it will not be enough for maintenance money for both of you and visa application process. You need at least 3times that figure |

Sego12345: When you start generalising your statement it shows you are myopic in thinking so because I know people who have done it does that mean I will do or have done the same thing ?
You can read my previous post and you can never see me advicing anybody to break any immigration rule. People like you always believe you know it all but you still have a lot to learn.
If you commit the same offence in another embassy you will be punished but you can't be punished for one offence twice even people who overstayed in one country still get visa to another country.
I keep asking have you or anybody in this forum seen a refusal letter were it is stated that you are refused because you presented a forged document in another embassy ? Please answer this question. You are misleading them by telling them not to worry about their immigration offence in another embassy. Some schools in the UK will refuse you admission if you have refusal in your immigration profile |

Just for the record, I have travelled far and wide and I can tell you I have never violated any immigration rule and I don't have any denial on my record.
You need to stop misleading people, if I don't know anything I will keep quiet and learn instead of arguing blindly. No it’s a way of telling you that apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. If you don’t know that your immigration offences from one embassy can affect your application in another embassy then you don’t know jack. |

Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by justwise(mod): 9:40pm On Feb 07, 2021 |
justwise: You need that faster than i do, obviously you know very little about what you are on about.
Educating you will be difficult but i will try...
1.Why do you get banned for not declaring visa refusal by another embassy?
2. Why do Schengen countries refuse one a visa for an offence committed in another Schengen country?
3. Why do you think some embassies ask applicants if they have been refused a visa or banned by another county?
Yes a judge can sentence you twice for the same offence if it turns out that you lied during your first trial to get a reduced/lighter jail sentence then you will reappear again for a lengthy jail sentence . Sego12345: You are not educating me but you are only arguing. I'm replying you based on facts, I won't come here to tell you what i don't know.
Let me ask you a question have you ever seen a visa refusal letter where it is stated that previous ban in another country is the reason for refusal ? Except the applicant decide to hide the ban from the embassy. I'm not sure you are reading.. |

Sego12345: Not one, two, or three examples and am not saying this to encourage people to present a fake document.
You only get punished in the embassy where the crime is committed. You need to broaden your knowledge about immigration law. Let me ask you a question, can the court sentence you twice for the same offence ? You get punished again if you repeat the same offence. You need that faster than i do, obviously you know very little about what you are on about. Educating you will be difficult but i will try... 1.Why do you get banned for not declaring visa refusal by another embassy? 2. Why do Schengen countries refuse one a visa for an offence committed in another Schengen country? 3. She visits the US regularly despite the fact that she was still serving her ban.
I'm not an agent but I can list so many have come in contact with.
You can't know everything, have that at the back of your mind. We keep learning everyday. So because you knew one person who got away with it you concluded that the embassy will not punish an applicant for an offence committed in another embassy? Clever |

Sego12345: These are two different cases. From experience you can't be punished for one offence in different embassies if you are been truthful and you have a water tight application (working on your ties). On the denial letter it will be stated why you are been denied. That is not true, you can be denied a visa because of your offence in another embassy. |

Jobs are not readily available and if you managed to get one quick you can only work 20hrs a week which is not a enough to pay rent , bills and save for school fees. 2. You have only one summer holiday to work full time but that will be occupied by your final project and presentation. |

I am an embryologist, and i just got a job with a Hospital in Manchester (CF) after doing series of interview.
the starting salary is 25k annually which i consider small for me.
I would like to find out the best city to stay,( within a 30mins radius to Manchester) because i dont think i can live in the city center with that amount. also do you advise i bring my family immediately? will that salary be enough for us.
Please i need help, i have just a month to get ready.
@justwise and everybody else.
thank you. Its a starting salary, keep that in mind, you will earn more as you stay with the company and get more experience , i don't know much about areas in Manchester but i understand that its an affordable city, 2yrs ago i went there for job but stayed in a hotel in Bolton, a tax drive who drives me to work couldn't stop telling me how affordable Manchester is especially accommodation, few friends a made within a month i stayed there confirmed what the taxi driver said. In many cities in the UK your salary reflects the cost of living in that city Give yourself at least 6months to settle down before bringing your family, so i will take the job if I'm in your position. |
