shdemidemi:

The trick these false teachers use is by taking us back into how God death with His earthly people. The day an average Christian can rightly divide the word is the day false teaching ends. Christianity was born after the death of Christ, gentile like you and I came into the fold through faith. Christ appeared to a certain Paul to preach a certain gospel to the church. We have to adhere to what Christ told him to reveal to us. The scripture says in Gal 2

7 But on the contrary, when they [really] saw that I had been entrusted [to carry] the Gospel to the uncircumcised [Gentiles, just as definitely] as Peter had been entrusted [to proclaim] the Gospel to the circumcised [Jews, they were agreeable];
8 For He Who motivated and fitted Peter and worked effectively through him for the mission to the circumcised, motivated and fitted me and worked through me also for [the mission to] the Gentiles.

Read what this apostle wrote about prosperity and any other doctrine in 1 tim 5 and 6. Compare it to what we have now, you would agree these false teachers deviated.

wat u and other advocates of poverty thinkg dont understand is tht prosperity is a necessity for the church. It is its predestined purpose and d preachg of d prosperity message is meant to restore d church to its ordained status. Is poverty befittg to royalty? No!
But d bible says you as a christian ar a royal preisthood, a holy nation, an embassador of christ.
This thngs sound foreign to us because we really dnt believe it, but look at earthly parallels and do some thnkg not just yapping ur traditional viewpoints.
The ambassadors from say nigeria in the u.s wud not be going to meetgs in d commuter train theyd be amply provided fr by their government. Theyd live and operate in comfort . But d goal isnt d material comfrt but to represent their government properly in a foreign country.
As a christian u represent The government of God in a foreign country (a fallen world) ur lifestyle and conduct, includg ur material status represents Heaven's government, thats y Jesus said "seek first the Kingdom .. " . The focus isnt on money or cars or watever but God's kingdom and his purpose.
A poverty or selfishness mentality is as bad 4 God's wrk as greed. God needs certain class of people to carry out d wrk of his kingdom ppl who wont get intimidated wen huge amounts of money is involved ppl who wont get lil minded and start stealg and syphong cash. From my experience wth ppl i've seen tht ppl dont giv. Esp those who advocate poverty the poor esp are chronic greedy ppl they up play their poverty to curry pity from d rich and God cant use ppl like this! Y because if they experience any serious money tht poverty mindset in them will make them steal and commit havoc. U hear of d thefts going on in govn ment , those fellows may b paper rch but they operate from a poverty mentality. A poverty mentality sees resources being scarce in d future, so it hordes all it can , but God's way is to giv in ur poverty AND God will multiply even d little u hav.
For those advocatg poverty livg how much givg do they do?
Wat percentage of their income flows out to others? Even churches , how much of this do they do? In the early church there was no lack cuz people sold wat they had and distributed their wealth to poor in their midst so tht there was none lackg in anythg , how much of tht dyu see in churches today!

bolaino: violence is a despicable thing, and even the christian master himself abhorred it, that was why he rebuked peter when peter cut off a man's ear, so if christians are to be christ like they should learn to detest violence or any act of violence.

Yeah in Africa we spank our kids to correct them, but they are kids, little children with no sense of direction, but what oyedepo did was assault, he assaulted someone cos he felt insulted, he did it instinctively and that goes to show that hitting people is not something new to him, it's what he does regularly, and I'm sure the christian master would not approve of oyedepo hitting a woman on his behalf.

man stop playg d wrk of d devil please. Satan is motivatg to harp on this.
Only mad men act irately without provocation, he must hav been provoked to react in tht way.
Wen ppl talk of violence twrds women they leave the cause 4 instigation, women are very provocative and acidic with their tongues wch earns them violent reactions , the violence is not mor evil thn the scathg tongue. Secondly the motivation 4 d reaction: was he aimg to inflict hurt or correct? Wat if he didnt slap but rebuked her openly? Say called a fool? A fool is som1 actg devoid of wisdom and many times ths rebuke is used in d bible , there's anoda meang 4 d wrd tht can earn u hell , but i aint talkg in dat context.
His slappg is to correct and is not in d same class as wat she'd get from an angry jealous spurned lover etc.
Peopl shud reflect on their mistakes and learn frm it, to single one incident out and magnify it is hypocrisy.
Wat of d gudness he has shown her?y doesnt it make head lines?

bolaino: from my understanding of the gospels jesus believed that wealth was an obstacle in one's quest for the kingdom of God, that was he said it would be difficult for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God, when u become too rich u tend to have a "God complex" u attribute everything to your self, u claim to have achieved these things cos u are principled and disciplined and u tend to forget that God put u where u are, and that my friends is what's happening to bishop oyedepo, the man thinks and the christian God are school mates.

wen it comes to scriptures u shd renew ur ur mind with d word not bend d word to ur conviction.
On wealth , u can never be too rich. "wen u become too rich u hav a God complex", money didnt cause this but ur attitude to money . U exalt money to God status in ur heart wch is idolatry. The money only manifests wat is already in ur heart. If u ar a proud person money will magnify the pride people cudnt see wen u were poor, if u ar kind money will be a tool to bless more people if ur wanton with money u'll do mor of d wanton acts u used to perform wen u were poorer . U'll sleep around mor, consume mor alchohol and cigarettes gamble mor etc
And money alone cannot make u miss God.
Job was very rch, yet God protected his wealth with an hedge.
The bible says abraham was very rich.
Isaac reaped a hundred fold harvest in his investments he was so rich the philistines envied him.
Under the law, if d jews kept the commandments perfectly, they wud experience great wealth as a consequence.
If wealth is evil God wudnt bless his ppl with it.

Show me where the bible taught you prosperity as a Christian..my bible teaches me contentment while I hope for the coming of The Lord.

because if u get too rch , d sheer volume of d money will drag u to hell right?
God doesnt want u too rch cuz d poorer u ar d holier u ar? U see ur ,the christian manufacture ur OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS thru d volume of lack u can cope with or sickness and disease u can endure.!
Guy, Jesus became poor (relatively) so tht u , through his poverty can become rich.
The silver and the Gold is mine,saith the Lord, and the cattle upon a thousand hills, if God is your father, is he rich? Who did He make gold and silver and diamond and rubies for? For u and ur pastr to look dwn on and call sin?
He God gives us All thngs RICHLY to enjoy.
If i invite u to dinner and order an assortment of dishes and u opt to only a sip and a nibble of all i laboured to provide how wud ur host feel? Insulted. He'll feel even mor insulted if street urchins com in to guzzle d goodies specially prepared 4 u cuz ur too proud and decieved to enjoy his benevolence! . God doesnt want money to own u but he wants u to be focused on him and his kingdom then all other things will b added to u.
Lastly, Jesus died and arose not so u'll sit idly waitg 4 heaven but so tht you will RULE AND REIGN in this life in other wrds you'll b restored to d position adam lost after d fall.

All these folks cud b lieing or they cud b tellg d truth.

Todd burpo had the experience as a 5/6 year old kid sufferg an appendicitis attack.
Roberts liardon as an 8 y.o kid, he went to strt a ministry he has been runng ever since based on tht experience - if its a lie then he deliberately is out to decieve and wud do so with d understandg tht many people thru out the years wud b influenced by his story! dekung: @All,
I think its high time we all started ignoring this foul mouthed or foul finngered davidylan or whatever he calls himself. This thread had nothing to do with the kind of arguments he brought up. He just jumped into the post and started insulting everyone. My problem is not with him but with the mods who should have banned this rooster brained mo.ron. He never brings up any meaningful or intellectually sound rebuttal, rather he goes arround hurling insults at people once you do not subscribe to his mythical religious convictions. This thread only request for people's experience at ceremonies which are always religious and in comes low life vermmin called davidylan. Am quite sure the guy comes from an aabusive background in which either or both parents abused The children. His father is/was a deranged maniac who assaults his wife for the flimsiest excuse and the woman on the other hand takes out her frustrations on the children. The guy doesnt know any better, the only thing he knows and does best is insult. He is brain dead that is why he cannot come up with any sensible argument, I wonder what he would do if his wife had a dissenting view on any issues. He comes up with arguments that lack depth and accademic/ religious content. The only reason he is sometimes able to write his long and meaningless posts is that he embelishes and sandwiches them with insults, this is the reason why I blame the mods. Please people, lets IGNORE the guy, irrespective of what he writes and lets make this thread fun again. Jesoul, please try and caution this irrate christian jihadist. He fouls up rewarding threads. This thread could have been good but see what he did?

so u dont like being insulted? Wat about d blatant unprovoked atheists here hav hurled against Christians by insulting their God just for fun or sport? The mods let those threads stay. The muslims also com out of their enclosure to poke their jabs and it stays.
No atheist speaks up in those instances, you flock to press the 'like' link. Feel a taste of wat others hav been xperiencg for a long while.

Not sure what your point is, but I would have caused a big uproar if I refused to pray at my sister's son's wedding, my sister would think I have something against her son, this was a family function where I was acting as the young man's father. What do you suggest I do;that I refuse to attend the wedding because I may be asked do what I have no faith or believe in? Many Atheist,Agnostics, Sceptics and non religious are still in the closet because they are afraid to come out as this would definitely cause problems in very religious families especially those living in Nigeria.

If Ex-Christians find it so difficult to express to their families about their lack of believe, just imagine what Muslims are passing through where the slightest questioning of Quran or his prophet would lead to death.

At the bolded, how would you know?

if ur an atheist or sceptic , u shd b bold enuff to take ur stand 4 wat u believe in . If muslims fanatcs can die 4 their faith how much more u in less threateng events?!

critiquing your code:

s.e code defensively.
>> case:
imagine this scenerio.

Object[][] matrix = new Object[x][y];
matrix[0][1]= new HashTable();
matrix[0][2]= new File("/.."wink;
matrix[0][3]= new String(""wink;//etc...

silly, yes - but possible on your code!!! or generic codes like that!!.

preferred :
Number[][] matrix = new Number[][]
or
Char[][] matrix = new Character[][]

2.)
jagged arrays cripple the algorithm.

case:

Integer[][] matrix = new Integer[x];

for(int u=0;u<matrix.length;u++)
matrix[u]=new Integer[Math.random()*u];//set different array sub lengths!!!
cud thoroughly mess up the algorithm.

Such abuse can be injected into undefensive code.

3.)
PrintMatrix(Object[][] obj)

abusive case:
PrintMatrix prm = new PrintMatrix(null);//oops - wrong arg

or : obj[][] = new obj{{}};//empty matrix.
printMatrix(obj);// wrong args --
defensive leaks ..

-->(1)
(x,y)
(4) [][][][][]
^[] [] |
(4)|[] [] v
|[][][][][](2)
(3)<--

Essentially this is what the app does.
take a matrix, traverse it in the following order
and all the app needs for traversal is to set
the values of x and y.
x = x axis (column indexes)
y = y axis (row indexes)

Recursion is calling the print matrix on smaller and smaller
matrixes . (within the main matrix)

Your methods take 5 arguments - thats readable but

performance wise wasteful.
see this.
all a printer methods needs to know is how to print ,in one

of 4 directions.
where to start and where to stop (2 arguments, and how to

print making a total of 3 arguments only)
5 argument print methods is overkill. though most coders

would use this.
for simplicity this is the print argument required.

print(x,y,Direction);

in my code i didnt bother specifying the direction attribute,
but using a shortened printArgument .
print(x,y). all the direction was done by changing pointer

values in the print method - .

but to be even more efficient - the Direction attribute is

not needed.
The print happens in a fixed order - like.
A-B-C-D.
left-right)/down/right-left/up.

so every print function to completely print its matrix will,
do so in the following order-

e.g
print(x,y)
{

//print left to right
//codes go here.

print up to down
//codes go here
print right to left
//...
print down to up.

// call itself again. recourse
print(modified-x,modified-y);
}

this print function is faster, uses less arguments
and is more complete - since the printing pattern is all the

same.

the printing logic:
for a square matrix. the right to left printing
will require - a start index(x), and a stop point(y)
the stop point will be the maximum index of the first row.

e.g at first print on a 5 by 5 matrix,
x=0,y=(length-1) = 4.

the printing
int ptr=x;
for(;ptr<=y;ptr++)
print/store (matrix[x][ptr]);//

When the first cycle of printng is over - .
the recursion is about to occur-
the submatrix will be the inner matrix within the outer

block.
and it will start at x+1,y-1;
so the start point will be x+1, and the maxindex for

right-to-left for the inner matrix willbe y-1.

therefore recursion will be
print(x+1,y-1).

this is all the work needed to print the matrixes.

but as recursion keeps occuring,
an interesting phenomena arises.
x+1,y-1 , will eventually make the arguments of print(x,y)
either equal to each other : x==y , for odd dimension

matrixes,
or x will surpass y , for even dimension matrixes.

this phenomena has to be cartered for, in the print function.

so
print(x,y)
{

// do all the print up /down/left/etc..
// check states of x ,y befor recoursing..
// alter the x,y in anticipation of recursing
// check states of x,y b4 recursing to prevent index

exceptions
if(x==y)// in the innermost cell of the matrix. print out out

and exit.
if(x==y) print(matrix[x][y]);/exit/return

else
if(x>y) // even matrix size all cells have been printed .

return

else
{
// its okay to recurse
print(modified-x,modified-y);
}
}

Essentially this is what i did when i solved this problem in

my code...
but your code is more readable but will run slower on a

machine due to the overheads..

>> unnecessary -: creating a stringBuilder object in every
printMethod.
to save the overhead,
a single stringBuilder cud have been creatd externally and

passed to all methods calling print.
like
print(x,y,StringBuilder)

Then what's the point of capturing the matrix contents in a

sequence when all the user is going to see is some output to

screen?! - better just print all the cells via print call

statements.

It is luck tht ritualist release a victim whom many people are prayg 4 after the vctim was reported missg.

it is really luck. Consequential positive expected outcomes happeng in response to a definite event is luck? U really ar stretchg it and living in denial here.
You cud as well say tht it is luck tht a person who studied 8hrs+ a day as a student made very gud grades!

Theyre to many documented evidences of thngs happeng after prayer is made or the name of Jesus is invoked.

Theyre are also many incidences of prayer failures and nothg happeng at the mention of d name but tht doesnt negate d positive outcomes nor make them attributable to blind chance.

It is luck tht the bible , a mythical outdated book, so happened to declare tht at the mention of the name of Jesus and prayer miraculous thngs wud occur!

Any christian who is determned to walk wth God will b guided by d Holy Spirit into greater truth.
The path of d just shines brighter and brighter unto d perfect day . As God guides, d christian wud begin to hav a distaste for wat displeases God, and God will giv him d power (enablement) to shed those thngs. But it is borne out of RELATIONSHIP . Not blind legalism. It may take a long time of God wrkg on a smoker drunkard drug addct wrathful person bf d grip of these thngs ar finally broken but it is only if d person chooses to submit to God's authority in his life. God cud tell a sis/bro to stop readg/watchg partclr books/media wch cannot b termed sinful per se but there may b mor to it and only in eternity may d person discover d real reason behind tht dealng frm God.

God gets pass marks for free-will. For hell, I must say I'm sorry I once excused God for being lovable and good while eternally torturing people. I can understand why it's okay to some but I no longer subscribe to it. The gift of life you should also appreciate with the gift of a certain death. Even assuming it's a passage to eternal life, that doesn't erase the sorrow it has caused. God gets part blame for making death a punishement for disobedience. I say this b4 He is excused on account of man's infraction.

if hell and eternal torment makes one feel antsy , y not choose heaven? Or is the toll fee to Heaven 2 high?
And the a gud God cant send som1 to hell forever is lame.
It doesnt disprove d existence of a Most High being but proves the reaction to Him. Much like sayg ur teacher is too fond of caning and hence is wicked,to you, doesnt prove ur teacher doesnt exist .
Sayg a loving God cant create Hell is prideful. because u d accuser assumes u know enough ,in d long life uve lived to b able to perfectly judge how thngs shud b.
Man in all his wisdom hasnt been able to banish the myriads of problems facg him, his wisdom continues to fail him repeatedly,time after time,
in his own domain. The brightest minds churn thru theory after theory in order to solve d bedevilling problems of mankind and yet theyre still being stumped yet this set of people thnk they know enuff 2 dictate or describe how a being called God shud behave and act.
Let man first eradicate crime,poverty,disease,divorce, racism, injustce, pollution, sexploitation, crimes, murder, human traffckg, drug peddling and traffckg, financial shenaningans, tribalism, nepotism, phobias of all kinds, racketeering,
ageism, sexism, pornography, perversions, suppressions of citizens by governments, psychological abuse and subjugation in class based social structures , environmental degradation etc. Let him achieve perfect formulas for attaing an utopian society for himself includg d complete eradcation of death from d wrld, then let him create d perfect frmula for peaceful social coexistence among ppl of different races and backgrounds then and only then He may rethnk his arguments about how a God shud behave to qualify as God.
Anyway,God aint runng a popularity contest, he doesnt need man to be God, its d other way round. Calamity strikes man not God, and wen money fails Man remembers God and strts yelling for divine help in desperation.

John3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Very clear and straight forward, Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever.

you shud rightly interprete the bible so tht u dnt fall into erroneous dogmatism.
A christian can sin and fall into temptation either willingly or by accident tht doesnt automatclly make him a non chrstian. As a matter of fact many chrstians struggle wth sin. Som so called strong christians ar strugglg wth secret sins in private.
If tht verse is taken litetally it wud mean som1 who is really a child of God cannot sin but tht isnt so. If these were so, then a chrstian wnt need frgveness since he wud never commit a sin after he is saved.
Wat tht verse means is a a child of God has God's nature in him and wudnt want /like to sin or b comfrtable with sin because it wud b unnatural to Him because of his new nature but som1 without this God nature in him , will not only feel okay wth sinng but he wud nt b able to avoid sinng because it is his nature lifestyle thought pattern sinning is wat he does naturally hence the wrd sinner. A child of God who is at home with sin has either deadened his conscience (and/or backslidden) or was never really saved.

Certs dnt matter because the present I.T situatn makes it so: there a large mrket 4 heuristc systems whch require nothg more thn primary school intelligence.
Popular development kits hav high degree of security baked into them, freeg d client developer 2 cater to only d business logic.
Lots of libraries and framewrks abound for almost any automatable task imaginable, the dev only has to know how to connect the different components like lego blocks to build his system.
Typical business software caters to sloppiness. Modern computg platfrms can execute highly wasteful ineffcient software wthout breakg a sweat . Not with blazg fast processors, oceans of ram and double catious Oses. Mor ineptitude can b accomodated.
With these situation mor people can flock into programmg and call themselves programmers with proof - wrkg code. Its hard to argue with executg proof bf ure eyes! Most end users of software ar also mor tolerant to shoddy products so theyll put up with half-good stuff. Infact , lay users are more visually oriented . If it looks gud it must wrk even better thn it looks! But in situations where risk acceptance bar is very low, employers will require all the verifiable formal proofs they can get b4 lettg on board their ship.
Middle/system software often require more frmal knowledge thn that for d layers they support e.g browsers, webservers, domain name servers, compilers, operatg systems, inference engines, embedded systems, (non)/relational databases, cryptographic systems, graphic systems, etc will require frmal education to write. Certifcations wont even cut because theyre useless here. Microsoft/oracle wnt admit u to wrk on their compiler/database team wth a perfect score in their cert exams! Thts for artsans!
Infact in some cases, a terminal degree is d prerequisite (phD) and a from a snooty school (ivy league etc). Even if u get in without an advanced degree u mayb marginalised in d scheme of thngs,
e.g receivg research grants , promotion, greater opportunities
.
Google distinguished engineers are often phDs with enviable track records of stellar achievements.
Microsoft hires highly intelligent ppl and most of them are either stellar pragmatc acheivers (designer of csharp) or theoretcl innovators (co-designer of Haskell) etc. But u dnt need frml logc to do artsan jobs like: create a shoppg cart in php, a hotel/supermarket/ school management app, use jquery, write sql queries, create a forum etc.
These apps can b hairy and complex but they'll never require a knowledge of college mathematcs (linear algebra,calculus etc) to tame. Just primary school level logic.

authurowen:

Good try. I took a quick glance at your code, didn't test it out but It can BETTER be refactored and Improved.
= No Need for the Abstract Class

=- I assume the array is balanced. not jagged and that all cells are filled with data.
This should not be a problem either as we wouldn't care a hoot what the array cells contain, but rather give more pressing concerns to the position of the Array index we are at to prevent getting an out of bound exception.

= There are a lot of unnecessaries in your code as well.

You'll have to be more explicit when you say "refactored and improved".
The abstract class ? not needed? guy u serious. This is the S.E way of writing this?
it's extensible and maintainable.
The unnecessaries ? okay. i'll admit 2 methods were overkill , but not a "lot of unnecessaries as you say".
the methods are - allset() - not necessary . i cant see any other that was un necessary.

anyway imagine this scenario.

List<matrixPrinters> list_of_printers ;

printMatrices()
//
addPrinter(matrixPrinter mp)
//adds a matrix printer to a class.

addPrinter(spiralPrinter sp);
addPrinter(columnPrinter mp);
addPrinter(skipPrinter sp);
//

printMatrices()
//calls all the matrice printers...

or this:

Create a class that prints a polygonal object in a particular way.

you could go short and write:

class polygon{
public void print(){}
}

later on you can add more codes to it.

or you can go long hand:

abstract class Shape{
public abstract void draw();
}
abstract class Polygon extends Shape{}

or more completely.
abstract class Polygon extends Shape{}

class Rect extends Polygon{} class Rhombos extends polygon,
class trapezoid extends polygon etc...

One is more professional and maintainable than the faster hacks.

without sufficient polymorphism - read: root class u'll have chaos.!!

Anyway-- i expect a more thorough critique.

".. give me the position of the array index to avoid getting an index out of bound exception "
This wont happen. The task is to print the array in spiral form - which is what the method does.
for explanation of what is going on i left comments in the printer method indicating
what printing is taking place.

"printing right most column," "printing bottom row " etc.

If the matrix isnt a square one - the printing function would necessarily be more complex
than if it wasnt. Thats why i state the implied assumption that a square matrix is assumed.

On the s.E aspect , at the risk of appearing defensive,
the norm is maintainability at the cost of a lil efficiency.
modularity. meaningfulness at the cost of a lil verbosity.
see java for example , System.out.println() against cout<<
cuz with one, there's lil need for re-explanation.

donald knuth - "software should be written to be read by humans and in some rare cases
to be executed by a computer .. " (paraphrase).
Anyway, compile the code and see if it does what u want. i tested it and it worked.

Thanks for the exercise anyway.

Used an array of strings instead of integers for the sake of flexibility.
the user could enter create two types of arrays , char arrays or integer arrays.

- expect an "out of memory " type exception to be thrown for large arrays.
- initializing the class constructor to take an array could be done but i dont matter - really.
i went the longhand way of passing variables individually to the matrix cells.

- I assume the array is balanced. not jagged and that all cells are filled with data.
