Awesome thread! I love flowers, trees, nature etc. I really don't know how we Nigerians remain sane with everywhere looking so bland, flat and dusty.

Thanks for inspiring me to get some potted plants for my window sills.

Who told you the women have not moved on? They are probably smiling to the bank as we speak. Time to get their Grove on with that hot young blood they've been eyeing, no one wants to be tied to a potbellied man for the rest of their lives.
Even in the olden days you find women who were married as many as 4 times, how much more in today's modern day, look at Ibinabo the former President of AGN, She's been married thrice. More reason why women should take care of their looks after marriage, not because of a man, but for their own sake. Don't let no man stress you into looking like his mother undecided

Smiling to the bank? Not Caroline Danjuma. grin

You need to visit Nigeria and see excessive materialism.

Family / Re: How Feasible Is Flexible Working In Nigeria? by ladygogo: 8:50pm On Jul 11, 2015
@ Damiso Civil Service ke? Those ones already have their own flex time grin grin

It really does help.

I think some multinationals like GE in Nigeria offer it to their employees. My cousin works for GE and I remember his work hours being flexible or could have been due to being in the engineering field.

The company I work for has a 37.5hr work week and you can start anytime from 7.30 a.m and 5.00p.m. You can also work from home as well. I work from 7.30-4.00pm, Monday to Thursday, and 7.30- 1.30pm on Friday.

I dont know how this will work for indigenous Nigerian Corp and banks, however, if it does work, it will go a long way in helping working Mums strike that work-life balance.

lol. People like op's relative only learn when they start working, paying rent and bills.

Op's relative may be staying with them for a long time since international students cant work until after two terms unless he has the liver to work under the table.
Family / Re: Why do people travel abroad and then feel entitled to everything? by ladygogo: 8:47pm On Jul 08, 2015
Your in-law needs to learn the hard way. He needs to be given an ultimatum.
You both need to tell him to stop misbehaving or he will be kicked out.

How is he paying his tuition fees?
Did he pay for student or off campus accommodation when he applied for his visa?

Family / Re: Former Governor Arrested In The UK For Beating Wife by ladygogo: 6:05pm On Jul 07, 2015
TV01:
Unless this women is truly independent of this man, it can't go anywhere.

If her status, well-being and upkeep are inextricably tied up with him, how will it benefit her to aid his prosecution? Or how will she see it as beneficial to her? Unless of course her life is in danger - assuming she even considers death worse than divorce.

Assuming he has assets in the UK and they take all of them and award them to her, wil she consider that a better deal? Will their kids even side with her? Will she prefer to be in the UK as a rich nobody?

If she had the wherewithal to be independent - and wanted it - she'd have taken action herself, and sooner.

Lets follow the situation. I don't see him jailed or her divorcing him - unless the authorities are able to act unilaterally.

TV

She is actually pretty independent. She is an Architect and I heard her family was responsible for sponsoring his political career.

Some sources are also saying the Governor later found out the front for the business happens to be Yemisi's boyfriend. grin

How does the law work in the UK in regards to pressing charges?

Na dem sabi. Won ma wa alright.

Dapo case no be today. Anyone in OAU in the late 90's early 2000 knew him well

In school then we heard he was molested when he was in KC

Later he went haywire wearing women clothes, trying to get accommodation in female hostel

There was a day his professor told all the females who aren't dressed properly to leave the lecture and he stood up and left

He got a lot of beating then while in Ife

So this is the Dapo guy? shocked

A lot of OAU professor's kids used to talk about him a lot in Babcock University then.

It's good he left Nigeria though.
