I have seen some of your queries on the other thread but i stopped posting there out of principles, I would insha Allah adress them tommorrow  as i feel sleepy now. But, just t let you know thos highlights are not contradiction and are in fact very clear if one understands arabic, the problem is with the translations.

The quran like you said and Allah said in the quran it has been revealed with clarity and plainess. It was revealed in arabi and not english and when there is any ambiguity we always go back to the source which is arabic. Insha Allah we would arrive t some clarity tommorrow .

Now to your query of belief in olodumare and not subscribe to arab culture, we have to make a distincton between islam and arab culture. All I am talking about here is islam and nothing to do with arab culture and as a matter of fact the way olodumare was worshiped in yoruba land was the same way Allah was worshipped by the pagan arabs before Muhammad. The worship of Allah through deities and intermediares like Ifa, sango, lat, uzzaa etc The belief in Allah is one and accepting to worship him without associating partners to him is what makes you a muslim.

That is what we term as tawheed, which is oneness of God without lesser deities or partners.

Oneness of God , is not to dig trinity but it is the very core of the message of the Prophets of God. I understand it is pretty difficult to come to terms with futility of trinity as people were taught this all their lives from Sunday school to adulthood. I really do not like to go into comparative religious analysis. I rather like to explain islams position and doctrine. If I start to compare faiths , emotions would come in and sometimes hardens the heart IMO.

To your query regarding hadith, it is good you said "people said" , anyone can say anything but there is a a unanimous opinion amomgst the scholars of the virtue of the hadeeths. I cannot or would not want to confuse you by going into the uloom al hadeeth (science of hadeeth) to show you how weauthenticate hadeeths and validate it. My answer is sahih hadeeths ar 99% accurate unless proven otherwise (e.g contradicts the quran).

The source of islamic jurispudence and knowledge  is 2 Quran anfd Sunnah which is hadeeths.

Every prophet was different in character, mission, manner etc but they were all unified in the message. The message is simply calling people to the ONENESS of GOD and worship of the only True GOD. That is what we call Tawheed and that was the message of all the prophets and the reason why we make no distinction between them by saying this is better than the other.

By saying all prophets were muslim we simply mean that they all surrendered to the One True God without associating partners to him. The message of islam only became finalised and completed with the advent of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. That was why the Prophet PBUH said in a hadith that he was like the last brick put in the last remaining spot to complete the building of a house. The last revealed verse of the quran according to most scholars was in Q5 v 3 "This day have i perfected your deen for you and chosen islam as your way of life . . . ."

You are right regarding the foundation of islam been the shahdah. The first part of the shahadah "La ilaha ila Allah " was the foundation of islam at every prophets time and  the other condition was to accept the messengership of the Prophet which in Abrahams PBUH time would have been "Ibraheem Rasullulah" as the second part of the shahadah and in Jesus PBUH time would have been "Eesa Rasullulah". As i explained above the jews around Jesus PBUH believed in La ilaha ila Allah but they were not believers as they did not believe in the 2nd part of shahdah then which was accepting Jesus as the messenger of Allah.

However, I have no problem with the phrase in the verse and I actually believe in the phrase. Jesus is the way -  Very correct as the Jews who were his audience missed the way by rejecting him. If muslims today reject him then we would not be on the way as well.

Jesus PBUH is the truth -  Again correct as he is the truth from the Lord above and was sent with the truth and the quran said in Q 66 v6 “ . .I (Jesus) am a messenger of Allah to you to confirm the TRUTH which was before me of the Torah and give glad tidings of a messenger to come after me whose name shall be Ahmad”. In this verse we again see he is the truth from the higher TRUTH to confirm the truth.

Jesus PBUH is the life -  Eternal bliss is eternal LIFE , accepting the him as God sent is one of the articles of faith in islam and that is a pre condition to eternal bliss

Regarding limiting the powers of Allah by confirming that the last prophet of Allah is Muhammad PBUH, we seek refuge from Allah from saying anything that would limit his authority. Allah says in the quran something and we believe in what he says, in this case he has said Muhammad is the last prophet and he means it. “ Verily the tradition of Allah does not change” that is what he said in the quran. Allah has the authority to do anything but some things he will not do and whatever he says he does, and whatever he says he means. It will in fact be limiting his authority if we claim there could be another Prophet after he has clearly informed us that Muhammad PBUH is his last prophet.

I have consitently said although PDP is a terrible party, the alternative which is ACN is just a lesser evil as the lion of Bourdiloun is a dicatator. There are no primaries in Lagos ACN, Tinubu handpicks whomever he wishes just like he did to the same BRF people are singing his praise.

BRF did perform in his first 2 years but that doesn not negate the fact that he was selected undemocratically. Tinubu is having his time and such people dont last long in terms of relevance. He shot himself in the foot by wanting to install his wife into the senate.

However, if we are to face fact Tinubu is the major financier of the ACN nationwide albeit with stolen Lagos funds. In politics whoever controls the cash controls the people and that is the reality of Politics. Most of those Tinubu is asking to stepdown never won any primaries themselves and were handpicked by him so whatever goes around comes around.

It is only a matter of time before the shepard goes to lead his flock to the promise land.

Abortion according to scholars is only ever permitted if the health of the mother is at risk . This issue is non negotiable in islam, however there are differences in when abortion is deemed as "abortion". By that i mean if the pregnancy is just one week and the thing is still just blood and not formulated. Some scholars regard termination at that stage as not abortion. There are few technicalities regarding that, and i dont want to confuse us with this except you would like to probe further.

Secondly, birth control and family planning is largely allowed and permissible in islam. The reasons for this range from spacing of children to protect a womans health, enabling full suckling of a child for up to two years like the quran prescribes. Most  birth control method are permitted in islam except the permanent sterilization which is also overuled if is done for health reasons. Methods like condom and the withdrawal method should be done with mutual agreement between the two parties, as the satisfaction of the woman is very important in which case she has the right to turn down the use of condom/withdrawal by her husband if it affects her sexual pleasure negatively.

Having said all of the above, we should note that whatever will be will be and if Allah decrees a baby no matter the amont of contraception the baby shall be concieved. Such was the case when some men asked the prophet  PBUH about the withdrawal method and he did not condemn it, instead he said approved it but said the decree of Allah could not be prevented.

The quran in 17 v 31 said "dont kill your children for fear of poverty" , some scholars have prohibited use of contraceptive to prevent child birth for economic reasons based on this verse and some have said this verse actually refers to an already born child. By and large, the fear of poverty should not prevent us from having children as our sustainance is never in our hands but the hands of the almighty and every child comes with his or her own rizq. Nevertheless , we should also use our intellect and intelligence as regards birth control as economic factor is not the only issue with children but the psycological ability of the parents to rear them, the time and attention they require etc.

The prophet PBUH was asked about whom a man should love most and he said "mother" three times before the father. The wife comes after the parents and they all play separate roles and influence in a mans life.

Under natural circumstance the wife still has a while to live for (insha Allah), however the mother might not be that lucky and hajj is an obligation if the means is there. I would suggest the brother explains to his wife to be patient and go with his mother. A brother can still go back to pacifiy his wife as they would sleep together but a mother might not be easily pacified. The wife of today is the MIL of tommorrow and the wife should ask herself the question of how she would feel if she was in the MIL position.

Family planning and contraception is not a basic thing my dear sister, it is infact a very complex issue and it is this simplistic attitide to the knowledge of islam that misleads loads of muslim.
