Akainzo: It is only in Nigeria that someone empowered by law, backed by the Supreme Executive head throws up his hands in the air and says he cannot guarantee security because he DOES NOT do his work and he/she expects us to understand.

The immunity clause is clear, it is an immunity from prosecution, not an immunity from obeying the laws of the nation. This people should stop playing to the gallery and not attempt to paint us as fools when searching for an excuse to take on perceived political opponents.

In a sane societies, this guy would be out of job for saying he is too lilly-livered to do the security job he has been entrusted with.
But again, why cant the National Assembly STREAMLINE THIS IMMUNITY CLAUSE such that it just says for example, those affected CANNOT BE ARRESTED ....BUT CAN BE SEARCHED, ALONG WITH THEIR PROPERTIES?

Its either we remove this useless immunity which is being abused at every corner, or we put in measures to ensure it is not used to turn this country into another Somalia!

k2039: He may not necessarily be a hypocrite. If he had a son like me, the situation on ground would have been worse and if he had a son like you the situation would have been completely disastrous.

Whatever the father considers modesty doesn't necessarily mean the son has the same conviction, the fact that my parents are christians is not enough reason for me to be one, I have to be convinced personaly that christianity is the real way, so if I decide not to be a christian, it doesn't mean my parents have failed, I just don't see things there way.

My issue with DL is just that I don't know why someone would wake up and say every kid that turns bad weren't raised the right way, this is something that amuses me, the GS would now understand that all kids who turned out to be wayward may not necessarily mean it was as a result of bad parenting..

The GS should be happy he didn't have a son like me, my wife would probably have worn trousers to the wedding ceremony because I see absolutely nothing wrong in puting on trousers for the ladies, Now you get my drift.
Thank you a basket-full!

In addition, WHY and HOW are we Christians if we cannot FORGIVE the INFRACTIONS of those who have shown remorse and asked to be Forgiven?

Is this some sort of "Grandstanding" to prove some gargantuan RIGHTEOUSNESS and PIOSITY?

When Christianity gets to the level where you cant forgive... just as Christ forgave us (and even those who crucified him), then it has turned to a fetish CULT!

Chei-Chei-Chei! shocked shocked shocked

Going by the posts so far, l can conclude that A LOT OF NIGERIANS DONT EAT BREAKFAST!

But Research has shown that BREAKFAST (no matter how little) IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD HUMAN SHOULD EAT IN A DAY!

Bad habit or Poverty? I guess its poverty-induced "Bad habit".

Digression: Having slept over-night, your stomach would have produced a lot of Enzymes...acidic in the majority, which assist in digestion.
Now, some of this acid, accumulate in the stomach, ....waiting for food to act on.
Food spends about four hours in the stomach before moving-on (after digestion and assimilation has taken the useful part of it).

With no Food to act on,...after some hours of sleep , the ACID BEGINS TO ACT ON THE WALLS AND LINING OF THE STOMACH!

Now you wonder why a lot of my "feofle" are suffering from STOMACH ULCERS?
Coupled with the fact that we eat a lot of peppery foods!

Please at Breakfast.... you can skip lunch and Dinner, you will still fare better.

Christianity Etc › Re: Can You Kill For God To Prove Your Faith? by lastpage:
illicit: I once got into an argument with my christian friend about faith and believe.

It got to a point that i asked him what if God tempt him like he did Abraham in the bible asking him to kill his son, i asked if he will do it? or attempt to ? at which my friend replied yes, he will kill his son if God ask him to, he said infact he will kill himself if asked too.....

i marveled, or what can this be called? I thought in my mind what if its not even God that's been speaking to you all dis while? maybe its just voices in your head or you've probably smoked too much weed times ago and now you are hallucinating.....

Would you kill a human being( helpless one not in self defence) if God dared you to?
God did NOT TEMPT Abraham!
God TESTED Abraham!

Let us get that very clear.

The difference between the two is that "In TEMPTING", you actually expect the person to commit the 'act'
Example is when the Devil "Tempted' Jesus after his forty day fast, asking him to JUMP DOWN.... and lets see whethe they Angels will hold you up! (Badt Devil! shocked )

In "TESTING", you have no intention of allowing the person to go-through with the 'act'. You just want to see their initial response...probably to 'gauge' it for reference.

...as in the case of Abraham whereby God readily gave him an alternative in form of a Ram nearby
(guess Abraham was also taking it literally! He actually wanted to kill his son!
Did he not reckon that God said "He is not interested in the shedding of INNOCENT BLOOD"? huh Badt Abraham!)

Now, God being God, is much more powerful, beyond human understanding, than any human!
God created man.

Now, how can you, a mere mortal, formed from DUST, fight ON BEHALF of your creator?
Who is that adversary of God, that God himself cannot fight, that he would now "Push me forward", to fight for HIM?

On a minute-scale, just imagine yourself as a five year old kid and your Dad (l think we cant rule-out Mums doing this! wink ) , with all his shakara muscles, asking you to go and fight another grown man,..... on his behalf?

Wont you look him in the face and ask if he's okay at all? huh huh

Ridiculous idea, right?
Sure.
Anyone claiming to be fighting on God's behalf is just simply DAFT and IGNORANT!
STEWPIDITY of the highest order!

flavoured: He may have made some mistakes in his time, as we all do, that's why we are human. We are human first, before pastor, reverend, bishop. its in our nature to be fallible. Its with the grace of God and anointing of the Holy Spirit that makes ministers stronger in the face of challenges and its because of this grace, that make them face even more than the normal share of challenges. Because the devil and his agents will keep trying.

That being said, if along the line, God allowed him go through his own divorce as a lesson, and as a counsellor for people who are going through the same, to teach them what to do and what not to do, to save their marriage seeing as his first one didn't succeed, does that make him an hypocrite? Mind you, his divorce came long after the said incident. We are all struggling with different challenges in life, Pastor or no, and it takes the grace of God to see one through, sometimes, not without scars.

If you must know though, it was his wife that asked for a divorce, not him.
First: how can you say "GOD allowed him to go through his own divorce"?
So it is God?
What about other people that went through divorce, is it the DEVIL that made them go through their own?

Second: So his own divorce can be construed as a lesson to others .... but when "others" divorce it is considered a SIN?

Thirdly: His own divorce is JUSTIFIED (as it needs to happen so that it can be used to "teach" others) but when same thing happens to "others", it does not qualify to be 'Justified' and used to teach some others to? huh huh

This is what l call the Hypocrisy, the "double-standards" that is being used to justify a pastors action/inaction ..and not being extended to the "flock"!

A Divorcee is a Divorcee. if it is RIGHT ......OR WRONG, it equally applies to EVERYONE, irrespective of whether they are Pastors or just ordinary floor member.

To justify the "same action" of one man.....by virtue of his 'material/spiritual position' in life, and then condemn same cation in others (especially if the condemnation as we know, usually comes from the rank of the same Pastors) is SHEER HYPOCRISY!

BTW: I observed that you said it was his wife that asked for the Divorce.
Whether it was the Pastor or the wife, it is obvious their marriage is NO LONGER WORKING and IRREVOCABLY BROKEN DOWN.
In such cases, Divorce is the ONLY OPTION. It should be taken. He is perfectly Okay to be a Divorcee..
........ but Pastors should stop condemning "flocks" who take that option too
.... if they too, will avail of such option, if put in same/their position.

Same rule for everyone. SIMPLE.

I left his church when he refused to endorse my sisters weddin to a non-church member. (Wat r the chances of marryin within a congregation of less than 100). Also claimed my sister was a divorcee, who couldnt marry in his church. Was shocked to find out later that he got DIVORCED and remarried. Hmmm. Coincidentally, his wife at the time, attended the weddin. Very nice woman.

Sad if he spent his last days in a wheel chair. RIP
This issue was raised in another thread (Pastors becoming TYRANNICAL and tying to Lord it over their members in every nitty-gritty of their life) about Deeper Life and Kumuyi's son's wedding.

Ogbuefi,
"Blur Speed" is NOT and cannot be used to properly estimate the speed of the Vehicle..... as you asserted!

It is a function of the "exposure rate" of the Camera lense in use.
Even at 10Km/h, anyone can create that "Blur speed effect" by simply setting a very low "exposure rate" on the Camera lense.

Politics › Re: Nigerian Policeman Threatening To Shoot A Civilian (Video) by lastpage: 9:51am On Jul 05, 2013
This is what happened, as reported by Channels TV.
A police officer attached to and AIC Limited, owned by Harry Akande on Tuesday threatened to 'gun down' an official of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

AIC on Tuesday stormed the airport premises to reclaim the land which was taken away from the company but was resisted by FAAN's Aviation Security officials, who threw caution to the wind and battled members of the AIC, including throwing stones at Mr Akande.

AIC had leased the said land to FAAN about 10 years ago for the development of a hotel facility at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.
A forthnight ago, FAAN had won a case against AIC over the land as the Federal High Court in Lagos set aside the decision of arbitration that awarded the company $48 million to be paid by FAAN, as compensation for ejection of AIC from the land.

While FAAN insisted that the land in question belongs to it by virtue of the Federal High Court judgment; AIC also said the court never ordered the agency to take over the parcel of land immediately.

Eyewitness account said FAAN officials bulldozed their way into the barricaded land, pulled down the gates and commenced clearing of the land with two tractors and its personnel.

For more information log on to www.channelstv.com
Now, we can address this matter in two ways.

1.) Try to find out who was right, between FAAN and the M.D of AIC Limited, Mr. Akande:
The matter was before the courts before they both decided to take matters into their own hands (both parties).
None of them was sensible enough, not even Mr. Akande, to let the law take it full course.

But eventually, the law may be slow but it is steady. The matter will be adjudicated upon and justice served.

2.) Try to look at the "micro event/behavior" of that Policeman:
There are two Policemen in the Video.
From the "background" provided by ChannelsTV (above),
*Mr. Akande brought ARMED Policemen the Airport to "enforce" his interest in the matter
*FAAN staff resisted him and his Policemen and threw stones at them.

This is just the summary of the whole matter. BOTH PARTIES ARE WRONG IN TRYING TO USE FORCE!

Having said that, if we focus on the UTTERANCES of the two policemen, we must start asking ourselves SERIOUS QUESTIONS:

Front Policeman: I will rough handle you. I WILL GUN YOU DOWN!
Second Policeman (behind): (Initially trying to hold-back the front one)..I will leave him to gun you down o! (see the continuation of the expression, as he gesticulates with his hands!)
Front Policeman: Thats all, l swear to "gawd", l WILL GUN YOU DOWN... (he swears and repeats it many times to show his seriousness)
.
.
.
Now, the Questions:

*Gunning somebody down in cold blood IS MURDER. ------ Penalty = Death
*Even in self-defense, it is still MANSLAUGHTER ------- Penalty = 25yrs ... to Life Imprisonment
*When it is "pre-meditated" (planned and executed), it is AGGRAVATED MURDER ----Penalty = Death

Now, in this case, the person involved is a POLICEMAN.... threatening to kill a FAAN officer (Government staff!)
By training (if Nigeria Policemen/women have any useful training at all), rules of engagement should have taught him a few things:

1.) How to defuse a volatile situation
2.) Not to use firearms on UNARMED CIVILIANS
3.) He cannot be the Accuser, Judge and Executioner, all at the same time!
4.) Worst case scenario, if his own life (Policeman) is in GRAVE DANGER (and this is evidently NOT THE CASE, from the Video), to Shoot in such a manner NOT TO KILL the assailant ...but to incapacitate/disarm the assailant
5.)His primary duty is to "Serve and to Protect" ....not to KILL at the slightest provocation
!

Just imagine: That all it took this Policeman to make himself "GOD" is the "Police Uniform" that is on his neck!
The way he was boasting about the threat makes me think that "this ANIMAL" has killed not a few people in the past!
He seems to bathe in the glory and euphoria that he can terminate the life of another humanbeing/Government staff... without any recourse to the due process of the law!

But that is the AVERAGE NIGERIAN POLICEMAN FOR YOU!
Even "WILD ANIMALS in the bush", kill out of necessity, for FOOD.. but these NIGERIAN POLICE kill for the FUN AND BRAVADO of it!

They kill innocent people at will, even for primordial issues like fighting over a lady! (remember the story of the APO SIX in Abuja? Google it if you will)

But even more sad is the 'response of the average Nigerian' ...to such callousness!
Just read the comments and you would wonder whether the average Nigerian has not lost it completely!
Its either "RUN" when you see a Policeman or "Yes, he should Gun Him down", it is deserved!
This is the shame of the current generation.

They have been so MENTALLY BRUTALIZED, OVER AND OVER AGAIN, that BRUTALITY has become the NORM, for them.
They have been so TRAUMATIZED and treated INHUMANELY so much so that they themselves have lost any and all sense of Humanity!
They have become like WILD ANIMALS...... and EXPECT TO BE TREATED LIKE ANIMALS.

I feel sorry, l cry inwardly for this Generation!
I fear for the Future of this country..... with this type of "Dog Eats Dog mentality" that has become the norm!

In "sane countries", that Policeman, will be DISARMED and placed on IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION.
HE would be quickly investigated, and dismissed from the Police Force.
If need be, he would be tried for "Threat to life and Verbal Assault". He would have his day in a law Court...and maybe a few years in "reformation" Prison!

I must be DREAMING! ...

afamgod: I'm new on this forum and this is my 1st comment on any post.
Talkin about silent treament, i tink my husband & i deservs an award. Agreed is somethin terrible, but we cant help it. His so good at it that he can go for months, until am able to call him to reasons. Infact he does it to neighbours too. Currently we're at it for no big cause and[b] i'm 31weeks pregnant and ve decided 2 keep that way till i deliver my baby.

Is there any other way out of this silent treatment without having to beg for a problem that was no cause of mine or having to say sorry when am not really 'sorry'?
Madam,
Sorry, you might not like what l will say, but l say it with utmost respect to your person.

1.) Ask yourself: What do l gain, from this cause (silent treatment) of action, at the end of the day.
2.) On the balance of scale, my SELF PRIDE on one hand .... MY HAPPINESS on the other, which do l treasure MOST?

CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM:
You said you are not the cause of the problem, right?
Do you actually think your husband think you are not the cause of the problem? (Both of you actually think the other is the cause and should be blamed for it,right? grin )

What l am getting at is that Most people would not accept responsibility for the "problem" either out of PRIDE or out of 'Honest' IGNORANCE.... but it still doesn't change the facts!
It could be you, it could be him.

SAYING SORRY:
You dont feel and wont say sorry simply because you "think" you are not the cause of the problem.
*What if you are actually wrong in what you think?
*If you are not the cause really, do you think "SORRY" is WORTH your happiness and marriage?
*Which do you cherish more: Saying sorry ..(with your ego rubbed!) or restoring your happiness in your home?
Weigh it and make a choice.

That thing called "Ego/Pride" , is a bast*ard, as they say.
And a stubborn heart, fuelled by Ego/Pride is dangerous to anyone.

Now, in any relationship of two humans, both cannot be hot-headed.
Even the Bible describes our wife as "COMPLEMENTARY" to our existence.
Thus, to "complement" someone...in a marriage setting.... means you are subjective or "adding to" what already exists!

So, when both of you keep "struggling with self pride", how then do you "complement each other" in the marriage?

Again, Women must know how to "manage their husband".
We have different nature and different things annoy, impress and excites us.
let me speak for a man.. to a woman.
*Men like to be praised, appreciated, praised and not challenged (Physically and emotionally).

if you observe these rules, what you get in-return is a man who is dedicated to you and does all you want...(lIke he is your little baby). Its a Win-Win situation for both of you!

"Manage the Man first.... and all other things will follow. TRUE DAT.

Challenge the man... and the Home is in constant turmoil and will eventually break-up!

Saying SORRY does not make you a lesser human... (My Mum always say this to me since day one).
She says it only shows that:
1.) You have a superior emotional make-up and control (it takes strength, inner strength, to say Sorry to someone you love, even when you think you are in the right.... just to soothe/sort things out!)

2.) You operate from a higher ground of 'moral standing', compared to the other person

3.) You create room for dialogue

4.) You give yourself an opportunity to SHOW THAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY IN THE RIGHT! wink wink (you can do that in a shouting match now, abi?)

5.) Best of all, you dont deprive yourself of inner peace and Happiness that comes with living in a healthy and happy relationship

ALL THE ABOVE JUST FOR SAYING SORRY! huh

If "Sorry" is the key that unlocks your husbands weakness, l am happy you have found it.
USE IT, USE IT WISELY AND EFFECTIVELY.

Dont deliver that baby into an environment of rancor.
An idle mind (your husband's situation when you both keep malice for long) is a fertile ground for the devil to sow seeds.
I hope he has not start coming home late or eating outside? shocked shocked wink wink

Let my son /daughter work hard and save their money towards buying a car, if he/she needs one!

Even if l be Dangote or Owner of Microsoft! wink

The best l can do is to guarantee him/her 35% contribution towards the cost of the car if he or she can show me and convince me that the other 65% is from his hard earned sweat, that they are matured enough to own and drive a car and will not use it to bring "sorrow" to the family! wink wink undecided

There is always pride in what you worked for (not what someone gave you)......Dignity in labor, always.

erico2k2: People just wanna talk cos they can,now have any of you seen a Pakistani passport, its exactly same as the Nigerian one except for the writing on it, now if two people hold the green P how do you know what country they come from if you don't physically inspect it in a close range?I'm referring here to the flaunting and hiding bit, here in the Uk, we all have our Bio metrics on our Passport as well as on our Visas or is this just a US thing?
Haaah! You mean any immigration official will pick a Pakistani in place of a Nigerian just because they both carry a GREEN PASSPORT?

We dont look alike in anyway, by any stretch of imagination.

No make Pakistan people vex o!

See for urself anyway.

Caveat: I have a foreign one, ...l carry it along just in-case things get really nasty! wink wink grin grin

But hey, there is nothing l enjoy more than flaunting that Green Passport.
I know they may try to give me a hard time for it (and some have tried a few times) but l give them such a raw time that it has become a thing of pride for me.

I do EVERYTHING BY THE BOOK....as they say.
I dont give any customs or immigration or airline employee, any opportunity to intimidate me.
But God help you if you try simply because l am carrying a Green passport in front of you.

Though l must add, l am very inquisitive, l learn a lot from others, l stay within the rules as much as possible and l am a staunch advocate of my RIGHTS... and you can bet l know my rights more than the average Joe Bloggs.

if some "Oyinbo Immigration" looks at me too much, ....l simply walk up to him (with my Greenee-P right in his face and ask: "Would you like me to assist you with anything Sir"? ..(with my fake, plastic smile of course)

Come and see as Oyinbo dey embarrass (color change to Greenish-blue or something! grin grin )
Most of the time, they are tongue-tied, not sure what to make of this impudent but smiling... black man! shocked

And you know Oyinbo can pretend very well!
They simply stammer, smile back at me and say "Not at all", hope your flight was okay"?

I smile back and say "Splendid" ....walking away at the same time! tongue tongue

One stubborn one at Charles Dulles International asked me back (after my well practiced routine!): May be you can help me?

I knew this was one of those bad ones that give Nigerians a hard time. wink

I moved closer and told him (with my fake courtesy smile as usual): I will be very pleased to help you if only l knew what exactly you were after!
(Try it, say stinging words and smile at the same time: I was taught by some wicked Oyinbo women, those sixty-something years Briticos, in those days when my wife use to put my little baby on her back in Public! Now l have perfected it back for them)

Ofcourse, they are careful a bit...and smart as well. They wont push their luck beyond the "safety of the law" since they dont know exactly who or what you are about.

He was not "after anything" really... he just felt he could intimidate me with his "glare" since l am carrying a Naija Greenee.

Lost for words, as he was not expecting "such a friendly reply" (they think we are all about 'aggression and fight-back'), he stammered and "wrinkled areas around his mouth" in what was supposed to be a 'smile of death' and nodded me-off his presence ..... l amplified my 'nice smile' ..with a wink to boot, and walked-off. angry angry

But God help me if l have any sort of contraband or comma on me that day!

Anyway, anyone can make themselves exemplary and immune to the harassment that comes along with carrying a Greenee, you just need to be aware, spanking-clean and not be in a hurry all the time (dem fit waste your time, just to prove they are in-charge at the airport)

BTW: Has anyone noticed that even our own Airport officials treat you better if they see you with a foreign/Western passport? Damn! Even in my own country! huh angry angry angry

Nairaland General › Re: How Is LAWMA Faring In Your Area? by lastpage: 1:33am On Jul 02, 2013
Nigerians..... and Lagosians in particular, are NOT STEWPID! wink
They will pay for services ONLY IF DELIVERED.

I tell you, l notice these LAWMA guys:

*They are not regular ..and this leads to accumulation of filth.

*When they come, they blow their horns and disturb the whole neighborhood! Children are rudely woken up from sleep!

*The Refuse Truck is ALWAYS ON THE MOVE and this forces people to be chasing it, with a load of rubbish in tow! What happens is that half of the rubbish is spilled along the way, in chasing the refuse truck. Dirty streets trail them, when they eventually show-up

*Irrespective of whether they show up, pick-up any rubbish or just drive-by, THEY STILL BRING THEIR SILLY BILL FOR YOU TO PAY! (Seems they have learned the "How its done", from NEPA? ) wink

In summary, they are NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. Q.E.D

Suggestions:

*Do a ROASTER, let every Area/Street have a PICK-UP DAY .... and TIME within the Week . Publicise it to the residents well in advance.

*Provide (or let them rent it at minimal price), Refuse BINS for each household or where it is a face me-i-face you house, provide a "lockable" Refuse DUMPSTER for the whole building, in front of the house (Lockable so that others cant use it except the house members alone. wink wink winkTrust my lagos peeps now, dem no dey carry last. grin

*On pick-Up day for any street, let the people arrange their waste in labelled Polythene bags/ Refuse Bins in front of their houses. They dont even need to be around as everybody cant be around, they need t go to work as well.

*Pick the Rubbish from there and Return their refuse Bins. Empty/Carry-off the Dumpsters and Replace it there.

*Charge a reasonable fee for this service (I know we Nigerians are good at exploiting the poor masses..... and the masses too have developed a knack to evade these exploitative charges as well wink angry angry )

*Payment should be 'agreed' and 'agreed' payment should be payable only to the Service Provider's official and publicised bank Account on a monthly basis or a 'reduced' yearly basis, as an incentive to pay early ......in advance.

*Government should pass laws that makes EVERYONE (Service Provider and masses) to be accountable, responsible and liable, for their part in this arrangement.
The masses should be able to sue the Service Provider if he collects money and refuse to provide agreed services .... Service Provider, through instrument of Government, can also seek punishment for failure to pay for services PROVIDED. (court fines, lock houses, even jail time!)
Mind you, that 'provided' is in capital letters! (NEPA comes to mind! shocked shocked )

Whats the big deal in this LAWMA matter?

Why is every SIMPLE THING turned into Rocket Science in Nigeria sef?
sad sad

Please, stop making me appear intelligent, l am not, just your average Tajudeen around the corner! grin grin grin

I hope they will hear sha.

omokafe: . Let GEJ give the amnesty money to the civilian JTF they should get scholarship to NDA and other schools abroad as well as training in various vocations and be given employment. We need to compensate them as a country. Kudus to them
Just my thoughts!
I think we all need to commend and appreciate these "Local Civilians" calling themselves JTF!
Especially we people from the South of Nigeria, we need to see that not everyone in the north is sympathetic to the Evil of the Boko.'r.RAMS!
That is why l always say you cannot stereotype a whole nation (North) or religion (islam), just because of the behavior of some members of that group.

3 Gboosas to you guys in the Civilian JTF, in Borno, Maiduguri and ...waiting for Kano! wink wink
The whole nation applauds you and we are behind you.

Be Vigilant, ALWAYS. Whatever you make of your "HOME" is what it will be.
make it peaceful.

Mike404: the Name of an eye witness is mentioned but a senior military officer is annonymous!
okk...
That is an example of the recklessness of not just the Army, but that of the News Reporter
That Reporter should undergo "more training". He/She should have known that mentioning names, in such "security matters" is putting the person at risk, especially when it involves bombers/terrorist.
Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Kumuyi's Son Apologise, controversy finally laid to rest by lastpage: 3:14pm On Jul 01, 2013
Barr Seun: I was privileged to attend our mid-year celebration of the deeper life bible church on the 29th and 30th June, 2013. Prior to the meeting, the marriage ceremony of the pastor's son and his heartthrob had generated a lot of controversy. The controversy was premised on the presumed extravagant conduct of the wedding and in particular the dressing of Love Kumuyi. ....

Information has it that the man of God (Pastor Kumuyi?) on getting to the venue of the marriage was highly displeased and discontented with the conduct of the wedding and dressing of the newly wedded couples as it was at variance with what he believed, taught and stood for this past 40years in the Ministry.

Just like every organization has its ethical standards for uniformity sake, the church also has its standards which it believes will put people on check particularly with reference to the conduct of marriage, dressing. etc. What the bible preaches is "let not your unclothedness be discovered" Moderation in all thing "because the coming of the lord is at hand". The couples obviously knew what the church stood for but they decided to deviate.
This quote actually has summarised EVERYTHING WE NEED TO KNOW about what happened.

The important points have been highlighted.

1.) D.Life has its own "ethical standards", just like any other organisation.

2.)The dressing of the husband and wife in particular, was deemed NOT to be of that standard of D.L

3.) Such dressing was deemed to be at variance with what the Pastor has taught, known and preached in the past

4.)"Let your unclothedness not be discovered" is what the Bible preached. unclothedness means to be without clothing or to expose "private body-parts like laps/cleavages" to the view of others.

So, let us dissect the matter (if we even need to do that at all), based on these 'facts'.
Let us be objective as well.
In doing so, let us "distinguish" between "GOD'S LAW" and "Organisational ETHICAL REQUIREMENT"

*Did they run foul of God's law (By displaying unclothedness)? NO, They did not.
* Did they run foul of the Church's "ethical standard"? YES, they did.

So, what did they apologize for?
Answer: Running foul of the church's ethical standard.

Now, All Frosbel is trying to point out is that "They have NOT ran foul of God's law" ...and therefore need not apologize. He thinks that God's law should be our 'focus and yardstick'... and not any man-made ethical standard.
That l think is not too much to point out
.

Is it wrong for them to apologize for running foul of their church's "ethical standard"/
No, it is not, since they subscribe willingly to that standard.

So, let us bury the argument here.
Lets not take it "personal", its not worth it......as long as we can distinguish between God's Law, .....and man-made laws.

cheers.
