two things caught my attention:

1.) The way the Boy ORDERED his Dad to come over: "Dad, come, da come over here..just come over here"! Stop there, Dad, STOP!!
He makes some timid refusals at first but eventually "came over" .... and stopped.

I am waiting for that Naija boy that will say "Daddy, come over here".
I am sure na slap go follow and a few stern reprimands in the mode of "Just look at the way he was talking to me, no respect again, huh"! grin grin

2.) The way the Dad resorted to swearing for all of them (Ori yin O'ope - You are all mad! That means none of you will watch TV again in this house!) grin grin
You're all bleeped, Bleep all of you, bla bla bla!

Why would a "Father" resort to such foul language onhis own family? Is it simply because one of his left the door open for theives to cart away a TV and one Laptop? (Combined, about 2Grand?)

I am sure if not that the "son' kept reminding him of "Dad there is a CAMERA over there (watching you of course)",
He would have done something stewpid
to the Boy! shocked shocked shocked
Man was ready to commit suicide already! grin

Anyway, it was very hilarious and l watched it twice in a row! (Rotfl)

Lastpage!

Did anyone notice that the Dad's room was locked?
(He checked it and said thank god my room is locked!)
Question: Locked against "whom"? I it normal for a Dad to lock his own room and prevent access to Mum and others in the house? Whats in that room sef?
Na wa o, dis obodo Oyinbo life get as e be! wink
WHAT WAS HIS OFFENCE THAT LANDED HIM IN 'Her Majesty's Prisons'..?

Innocent people dont go to Prison in Obodo Oyinbo?!

Dying in Prison is a normal occurence, but what led to his incarceration?! We are not talking about Jail here but prison. For you to be in prison, you must have passed through the courts and sentenced to prison. If it is Jail, then its different.
Okija-Juju, you fall my hand no be small, with this your post!

You sounded very naive to say "innocent people dont go to Oyinbo prison"!

You mean you've never read of people who have spent decades in prison ...only for evidence to emerge that they have either been framed, evidence corrupted, procedural failures, misplaced justice, e.t.c? .... and then set free with an apology and probably a "compensation award"?

Again, you said "For you to be in prison, you must have passed through the courts and be sentenced to prison".

Point of correction please: A judge can REMAND YOU IN PRISON CUSTODY, ....pending the determination of your case.
'Remand' is the key word here!
If you are eventually sentenced, you go BACK to prison otherwise, if acquitted, you dont go back but you go home.

All the above notwithstanding, the issue is not about why he was in prison (though this might be informative as well, if known), the crux here is :

1.) How he died
2.) Why he died
3.) Was he killed or died naturally
4.) Was a Post-Mortem done? If yes Why is teh result NOT PUBLISHED or made available?
if 'NO', why was it not done as the death seems suspicious!

5.) Why the rush to cremate (burn to ashes) the dead man when there are questions, many questions, still unanswered abouthis deathj .... as his "dead body" may provide valuable clues to such investigations, if indeed the idea of rushed cremation was not to obfuscate such investigation!

These are the issues and we should not allow our "judgemental mindset" to cloud derail us from focusing on such.
Imagine if he was a British citizen that died in a Nigerian Prison and Nigerian Prisons wants to quickly organize a burial, huh? huh

Politics › Re: FG Rejects Lagos’ Offer For Power Distribution Companies by lastpage: 4:05pm On Apr 24, 2013
ShalomNigeria: I hope people have been following your explanation rather than their PDP vs APC/ACN positions. To support your points, The Port Harcourt DISCO was actually won by a consortium comprising of Some Niger Delta states and a technical partner. The truth is Lagos should have been serious then if the state was really interested knowing that the two DISCOS will attracts financial heavy weights because of their prospects. I am praying that the youth of our country (which I believe this forum boost of reasonable percentage)will be more objective in their criticisms of political office holders. We should be wise enough to know that Nigerian politicians are the same and the beautiful ones are not yet born. Or what should we say of the reason given to increase the tenure of local governments excos in Lagos. If they are saying a LG chairman will need a year to familiarized with his local govt (a place that is assumed to be is constituency and already aware of events within), how long should it take a governor and a president to know the state and country respectively? The earlier we let them know we are not ignorant of their deceptions, the better they will all take the issue of accountability in governance seriously.

Good Points!

I think that as we discuss issues and exchnage ideas, we should all get to a point were WE CAN SUMMARIZE and reach a sort of "position" on critical issues that affect us and our children's future.

In that resepect, taking into cognizance the public's fear of Tinubu acquiring every Govt structure in Lagos (To be honest, he has a history of these type of shennanigans, using cronies) and the situation where Lagos is being crippled by the lack of adequate power supply, the prospensity for Govt-run business to nose-dive and gulp money unnecessarily, the penchant for "some" individuals to connive with the likes of El Rufai, to buy National assets for PEANUTS, only to strip it bare and profit from such (instead of developing, building and nurturing it as intended... and their are glaring examples of these, so no arguments needed),....

We MUST articulate a position which counters all these "negatives" while emphasizing the "positives"

What we need is SOLUTIONS WHICH SOLVES THE PROBLEMS.
We cannot continue to toy with our country's future, while playing dirty politics.
The Politrick-cians already stole us dry and they are laundering the money by using it to buy states assets (they learned that from Russia, me thinks) and turning themselves into overnight Multi-Billionaires!
This is not good for the country, North, South, East or West.

The arguement given in respect of the local Govt issue is purile, to put it mildly!
Its nausaeting to read.

Anyone that needs a whole year to 'aclamatize' to office, in an environment where they live and are considered 'grassroots' is NOT FIT for that office. SIMPLE.

Otherwise, let every 'aspiring' LGA Officer FIRST do the aclamitization (whatever that means?) before venturing for elective office.

As for power, no one wants to leave the "chain-process of his business" in the hands of others.
What l mean is that, if l invest a lot to generate electricity and l have to depend on another company for its distribution (entirely), then l am supsceptible to the whims and caprices of that other company becaue without them, l cannot sell my product and l may suffer loss, if and when they decide to "arm-twist" me.

For this reason, a business person or venture financier would love to be in total control of the "chain of process" of its products, from Generation to Consumption.
But be as it may, by having SHARES in such down-stream sectors of the business, these fears may be allayed.

We need honest and open-minded people who are not led by filthy lucre and party politics.

ZUBY77: Dear Lagos state,
The federal govt is trying to privatize these things for effective management. Why would it sell it to another govt establishment?
Govt regimes are bound to change every four or eight years in every state. How do you plan to transit from the current govt to the future one especially when it comes to these structures. No, we want it in the hands of individual companies .

I will not be surprised when the bigots turn this into ACN vs PDP
Zuby,
While l can relate to your "comcerns" up there (efficiency), l will like to point out that there are some "critical structrures" of governance which cannot be left in the hands of "private individuals" entirely.

For example, no nation will privatize its security entirely.
The reason is that private investors are ONLY after PROFIT but in some enterprise, safety, continuity and social relavance trumps "profit" on the ladder of priority.

We have experience of where Govt have sold "National Assets" to individuals and all they did is

1.)Cash-in on its valuable assets
2.)Strip it down
3.) Abandon it afterwrads and look for the next "Govt freebee" to buy.
....and it is the "masses" who suffers attendant consequences.

Examples are our Steel Industries, NITEL, NICON, and even Jimoh Ibrahim bought Nigeria Airways (Skypower or Air Nigeria) and where are those "companies" today? Stripped, Gone and buried!

Every "sane" country has a national carrier... except the "Giant of Africa"! huh
Should we "privatize" the Nigerian Army or Police, to make it more efficient?

Since the Govt is bent on selling the Power projects in Lagos, "if" Lagos State feels it can manage it properly and more efficiently on behalf of its populace and to improve its local economy (as stated by Ipaye, power is the worst enemy of Lagos ...or any place that wants to develop, for that matter)....

.....Does it not make sense to sell it to them and let them manage it?

Lagos Residents can be asked to "buy shares in it" and let it be run by Technocrats while the Govt keeps "an eye" on it.
A kind of quasi-private enterprise.

If sold to an individual (and we all know how these Assets are first UNDERVALUED ... in order to make "asset stripping" profitable for the buyer, which will surely be the end-result) and it goes the same way of other "privatized enterprises" of Govt. .......who is the loser?

The people of Lagos... and Nigerians as a whole!
Or is it just "Politics as usual"? PDP Vs. APC (or whatever they call themselves)

cheers.

It's just a name what Nigeria has turned into.

I am NOT a fan of PDP (nest of Killers) in anyway but this Mr. Bamigbetan has just made a nuisance of himself..... by converting and making "Political insinuations" of his story.

While l feel sympathy for him, for being kidnapped, l totally reject his purile attempt to "make political gains' out of this!

But if that is what he wants to do (and it is obvious!)
,
then maybe we need to take a second look at his story:

1.) According to him, he was coming from "his leader" Bola Tinubu's place, right?

2.) Is it far-fetched to assume that "all this kidnap drama" was planned and hatched, just to discredit the 'Opposition' PDP?

3.) Since the "only fall-out" of the Kidnap, was to lambast and heap the blame on PDP government, we can conjecture that it was actually BAT that sent Kidnappers after him (with his consent or not) so that they can tell us the story the kidnap victim is telling us now!

4.) Need l remind Mr. Bamigbetan that PDP has NEVER ruled Lagos since inception. It is ACN, ACN and maybe APC (next) that has been in charge of Lagos, why have they not SOLVE the unemployment problem of just Lagos State alone, by now?

5.) Can Mr. Bamigbetan tell us if it was OBJ or Yar Ardua or even "Jona-dull" that looted the coffers of lagos State? Was it those people that stole Lagos, dry .. and used our money to acquire all the Government properties and choice buildings in Lagos? Was It Jona-dull's PDP that bought all the houses on Osborne Road, in Ikoyi-Lagos or was it Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT)?

6.) Can he regale us with whether it was PDP that collects over half of every LGA quaterly allocation (from the Fed.Govt) and convert it for personal use, using threat of impeachment or balckmail?

7.) Was it PDP that loaned our money to a "front company" (LCC), repaired an already existing Lekki Road and put tolls on it, not minding that there are poor people who live along that road and have no other exit route, than to pay his astrobomical, extortionist Toll-fees .... while the Hotel he used our stolen money to build, is just exempt from the Toll, judging by the location of the Toll -gates!

8.) And you yourself, Mr. Bamigbetan, apart from "mouthing around" with your Kidnappers, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR EJIGBO SINCE YOU CAME INTO OFFICE? Name the schools you built, name the street roads you repaired or constructed, tell us about pipe-borne water and how you costructed drainage gutter in Ejigbo ... or is it not that dusty and smelly Ejigbo, littered with over-sized puddles that we are talking about, huh?

Anyway, we know Both ACN/APC (or whatever they decide to call themselves) ... and PDP, are two sides of the same "criminal" COIN!

My prayer is that Mr. Bamigbetan does not experience the "real kidnap" or wrath of the masses whose heritage and patrimony, his "Oga at the Top" (BAT), have been stealing

It's more difficult to live as a woman in Nigeria than a man. And yet so much is expected of them. It's my view that in this desire to meet up with what society expects of them, these women have pushed further 'to God' in desperation, making them more susceptible to these kinds of experiences.

I mean it is easier to live as a woman in the "WEST", than as a man .....yet, they still always fall under 'annointing' as we all watch them in our "African/Pentecostal Churches"!

gbigbega: Excuse me, being gullible cannot make you fall against your will. Even if you want to fall, you will still not fall. You all like questioning Spiritual things. Spiritual things are foolishness to ordinary men, the bible says.

My opinion to this is that women, from time immemorial, are susceptible to spiritual manipulation.
Many of them come to the church either possessed, obsessed, suppressed or oppressed by the devil. Check the bible, most of the people that are used of the devil are women; right from Adams. When they fall under the anointing, it because the power of God is at war with the power of the devil that as possessed, oppressed, suppress or obsessed them. If a so called 'man of God' uses evil power in the church, they are also the target because they are more susceptible.
Remember, the devil did not tempt Adam until Eve was made. It's not womens fault, it's just the way they are made.
God made the whole world, made Adam IN HIS OWN IMAGE .... and RESTED!

He did not make woman in his own IMAGE!

The Devil saw Adam and decided NOT to attempt to compromise him, the Devil Chose "The Woman".
..and it was the same Woman who compromised the man, eventually!

Be not be decieved, MONEY = WOMAN = ROOT OF ALL EVILS

Since God made Woman, no where was it mentioned that "He Rested"!

If "MAN' was sturbborn and not 'spirit-filled' as some claim, how come 98% of ALL PROPHETS and TRUE Men of God in the Bible, ARE MEN?
*How come Jesus himself was a MAN?
*How come not even one of the Twelve Apostles, was a Woman?
*How come 95% of current day Pastors and MOG are MEN?
*How come the women (Mummy X or Mummy Y) are all followers of their "MOG Husband"?

These debunks that theory that women are more spiritual than men.

Bottom-line: Women are more treacherous ....and easily decieved, than Men.
Women try to impress their MOG but the men "appears" more asertive and enlightened in spiritual matters. They can recognize a SCAMMER, ....when they see one, like themselves. grin grin wink

Sincere 9gerian: Odusanya said, "I believe that a killer squad created during the Abacha regime was kept by Obasanjo and housed at SSS headquarters, known as Yellow House, and was used for political assassinations."

"Definitely, that is not Obasanjo's character they are describing and everybody knows that. Of all the military rulers, the issue of killer squad cannot be attributed to him. That was not his style.

While security agencies had arrested some suspects allegedly involved in the murder, including the then deputy governor of Osun State -Ige's home state - Mr. Iyiola Omisore, they were however discharged and acquitted.

Who is these "errand boy" decieving ....or is he just talking out of "sheer ignorance"?

OBACHANJO is the ONLY President that maintained a "Robben Island style" of PRISON (Called Ita-oko Island Prison) where he turtured his adversaries.

He even has a dungeon in his OTTA farm.

Go ask those who have worked for him before and you would know that "This Obachanjo is CAPABLE OF ANYTHING"!

qpressng: Everyday I see people spend their life savings on dialysis, and a major cause of kidney damage in Nigeria is our habit of drinking herbal mixtures indiscriminately.

Check out other causes here - http://www.stayinghealthyplus.com/2013/01/10-common-habits-that-damage-kidneys.html
The 'Key word' here is INDISCRIMINATELY!

Even if one drinks 'pure water' INDISCRIMINATELY, there is bound to be dangerous repercussions!

Even the 'white-man's' treatment for Cancer, evnetually kills the patient! (Collateral damage huh ).

Please do not associate Kidney failure/damage to herbal medicine ONLY.
Most western medicines have "side-effects' which at times, are fatal!

Liek you suggested, MODERATION in all we do, is very germaine.

@ghostofsparta:
I dey feel you well well. wink
@Reference: what we need to do is to encourage "further research and standardization" into our local herbs/medicines.
God gave "each race", their own NATURAL ADVANTAGE.
we cannot leave our own sphere of natural advantage and be chasing after the European's own.
We can only be second best, that way.
where is your agbo jedi shop. Looks like you are advertising
No 'advert or better sales-pitch' ...like a satisfied CUSTOMER!

That man is "taken",... for life! grin grin

But on a serious note, if used properly, some native concotions can be very potent!

The "Ogogoro" (Ethanol) is not actually part of the "active ingredients".
It is just used as a "solvent" to capture the "active ingredients" in the herbs ...and dont forget that "acohol is directly absorbed in the mouth" through the network of blood capillaries in the tongue and mouth.

IMPLICATIONS: Herbs soaked in Alcohol go directly to the blood system and thus act faster that one soaked in water or swallowd directly. wink wink

But our guys use that as an excuse to shark demselves die!

Laspage!

NB: The above is not an endorsement of indiscriminate CONSUMPTION of alcohol.
SAY NO TO DRUGS AND ANY OTHER WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION!

cap28: You've just given your prospective husband a licence to abuse you to his heart's desire since you have made it known to him and the public that you are so grateful to him for being taken off the shelf of singlehood. Word of advice - No-one respects a doormat especially a desperate one.
Cap28:
There is absolutely NOTHING wrong in making your spouse know you appreciate him/her or that you think the whole world of him/her. (How does that make her A DOOR-MAT?)

..and its not a license to abuse one's spouse! Only an insecure, sadistic and oppressive person wil take advantage of his/her spouse.

More importamntly, which will you prefer: A spouse who speaks his/her mind and whose words you can take for its "gold's worth" OR..
A spouse who tells you "good morning and you have to sideline the window curtains, to check whether its actually morning?

I think she has spoken figuratively but she meant every word of that statement and she should be applauded for not only keeping it 'real' but making it publicly known ....even to her spouse.

If he then misbehaves in future, it will not be because "she did not love him to the core ..or show it", it will be because a person like him DOES NOT deserve her type.

Only a few spouse (like me kiss ) have 'spouse' who think the whole world of us and if there is anything l cherish more in this world, it is the kind of spouse l have.

If l die and ressurect ten times over, l want to marry my spouse in the next ten lives, walahi!
We've done it for close to two decades now,..and still counting! wink

Anyway sha, different stories for different folks., some peeps may have been hurt in the past and vowed never to "truly love" again

like i said, entering relationships these days is like preparing for war.

very medieval.

Thank you for bringing this up
.

It shows that the lady meant every letter of that her statement. As someone said, she must be "heaving a sigh of relief'!

No need to be forming "ice-cool" at all! shocked Believe me, somethings pan-out better, if done the way its "originally meant to be done"! wink

Now, whether ANYONE buys into her position (as in her finding a Fiance, is a glory to her and a covering-up of what she considers shameful ...to her ONLY!) is a matter of opinion.

That is the way she sees her spouse: her crown of glory, someone that will cover her shame, clad her unclothedness, change her sorrow to joy, wipe her tears, bring smiles to her face, bring spark into her life, e.t.c.
kiss kiss kiss

(singing Teddy Pendegras: Its soo good, to love somebody ..... and somebody loves you back...)

She's entitled to it and should not be mollified for OPENLY EXPRESSING HERSELF!
Its her life, its her marrige, its her happiness...ITS HOW SHE FEELS. wink wink

Others DONT have to feel the same way ....but they cant condemn her for feeling that way!

He is so Irrelevant he tries too much to appear relevant!

Dele Momodu should just shut his big trap of a mouth, focus on developing his junk magazine and continue to show-case and glorify official corruption ..... as he is well known for!

Most times, he reminds me of that foul-mouthed Fani-Kayode. grin grin

Soldiers that drive against Traffic, scaring the shyte out of other road users and endangering their lives?
Did Fashola not "arrest" one recently?
...and when you "call their attention" to their wrong-doing, they start forming "Bloody Civilians"!

Nigerian Soldiers (and Nigerian armed forces in general) are not different from Savages and Brutes!

Or how do you describe someone (Soldier) who beats up another (a civilian), when that Civilian tells him he did wrong?

What is "frontpage-worthy" ..about this?

So, because she is Governor's daughter, she should be deprived of the "benefits" of smoking?
Or smoking in public? huh huh

As a "human", she has her rights too.
She is NOT the Governor and so, cannot be required to observe such 'protocols" required of the Governor!

Or did any of you vote for her, as well?

Nonsense.
