All Hail the Police!! To SERVE and to PROTECT!!

A case of two Policemen.

One was Sunday Bada. He died in action (sport) and Nigerians wrote very heart warming eulogies about him, here on Nairaland. kiss kiss

Another was this Dawodu DIG, he died in action as well but see what Nigerians are writing about him? huh shocked

Well, as for the DIG,
He CAME  (To Ikorodu Hotel, in Lagos!)
He SAW   (that hairy Hole grin that kept challenging him) and
He was CONQUERED (by the same thing that challenged his professional abilities! shocked )

Now, what more can l say?

Seems DIG is a disgrace to the Police, his family and Nigeria in General!

(pokes self in the face and ask: Wait, did l actually type that?) huh huh

Let us be "balanced" in our criticisms of others.

1.) A Player must honor his country's request to play for the country. Eto and other refused, ON THAT he was WRONG.

Next question is WHY DID HE REFUSE?

2.) The thieves in the FA, collected money from the 4-Nation tournament organizers, pocketed it and refused to give the players their "own due" as promised. That is a disgrace, it is criminal and we should condemn all these FA officials who are the Thieves, the Accusers and the Judge!

Now, assuming you're Etoo and the other players, what will you do? Be Honest?

What will you do if your employer refuses to pay you an agreed amount, after doing the work for him, and he now wants you do another set of job? Will you do it or demand the payment for previous work done? BE HONEST AND ANSWER.

Am not defending "indiscipline" but we should address issues from the ROOT.
Its not only the players that suffer indiscipline, the "thieving officials" are even worse, and to think they are the ones handing out the ban! angry shocked

In essence your saying its okay for the mods to head a thread, Ojukwu is dead. Thank God. It's offensive to one out of two parties.

There should be neutrality.

This just personifies the unintelligence of most Nigerians.

Thanks very much for the above post, its very apt and concise!

I am too shocked to even say anything further, reading all the tripe that some half-educated illiterates have typed here!
"Decency and Decorum in a public forum" dictates that you dont "openly rejoice" when the President of another country dies.
You might not like him (and you cant hate him more than the American or Israeli  leaders and you dont even hear them make such foolish pronunciation, PUBLICLY!) but DIPLOMACY AND MATURITY demands that you control your personal feelings. Even the Bible says we should mourn with those who are mourning!

I dont even want to go into the justification or otherwise,  of his "foreign policy and actions", as a President. (if we had a President half his type, Nigeria wont be as it is today) but suffice to say HE PROTECTED HIS COUNTRY AND HIS CITIZENS TO THE CORE. Period!

Cheers,

Hummmm, in the same FREETOWN, Free Lunch does not exist! The Truth is that we misplace our priorities when we need to resisit Government policies. Tolling is a pay as you use policy not an imposition at all. Everyone doesn't have to pay toll, you can always use the alternative route or park your car in a safe place and join BRT/LAGBUS or danfo to your destinition.

Tolling is not a compoulsory policy for everybody, if you dont drive a car you dont pay toll Com'on let face the reality guys
While l appreciate your position on "TOLLING IN GENERAL" (as reflected in your post above) and your spirited efforts on this issue so far, let me say that what we have on ground at LEKKI right now neither reflects FREEDOM OF CHOICE (as you would like us to believe) nor an attempt at "FREELOADING BY THE USERS/RESIDENTS" of that road.

I for one, l am an advocate of 'responsible citizenship' which includes paying "TAXES". But they must be justifiable.
I am also against the use of "State Powers" to coerce and intimidate "ordinary folks" into SUBMISSION!

Those pictures you posted up there are of PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN SUBDUED "USING STATE POWERS", BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CHOICE!

"CHOICE/ALTERNATIVE" is when EVERYONE can decide to do something or NOT DO IT, without fear of punishment.
For example, we all have a choice of the cloth we wear daily (if l decide to wear Jeans and you decide to wear Short Knickers, l cannot punish you and you dont have to fear any repercussions from me or anyone else, for doing so).

But if for example, you are "my boss" at work or you work in the bank, you dont have that "choice" as you "fear a repercussion" for not dressing corporate, according to "company rules" (despite the fact that no one is holding a cane at the office door to check your dress code!)

That my friend, IS NOT HAVING A CHOICE!. It is called "CONFORMING TO REQUIREMENT, OUT OF FEAR OF REPERCUSSION"!

The dangerous thing about such 'subjugation-out of fear' is that "The Afraid" is always on the lookout for a day when their oppressors will be weak or show weakness and they would pounce on him/them! grin
Its like the "Slave and the Slave masters". wink

To buttress my point, just imagine if that Toll Gate was not manned by security and toll collectors. Ask the people to just drop their money in the Till and drive-off (No fear of repercussion! huh ), THEN CHECK HOW MANY PICTURES OF "PEOPLE PAYING HAPPILY" YOU WOULD GET! grin grin

Another example is "if PHCN jerks-up the unit price of electricity and PEOPLE STILL QUEUE TO PAY"?
Can we then infer that they are "happy to pay"? Or that they "have a Choice", a REASONABLE ALTERNATIVE THAT CAN SERVE AS A "CHOICE"? After-all we can argue that if they dont use "NEPA", they have an alternative; to use a GENERATOR or use SOLAR PANELS or even use CANDLES/LANTERN! shocked shocked

Some "alternatives" just dont qualify to be called "A Choice".
That so-called alternative route is riddled with a lot of "problems" (like its a waste of time, rough road that would damage your car, situated within "private and gated" estates and gets locked at times, e.t.c) so much so that even the govt is aware that YOU ARE FORCED TO USE THEIR TOLLED ROAD!
Again, why would l have to abandon my car and be "forced to take LAGBUS/BRT" simply because the road l normally use has now been tolled by Fashola-Tinubu? Is that my choice or theirs?
I bought a car for personal comfort otherwise, l would have stuck to their Public Bus, abi?

Governance is "a social contract" to serve the people and not the other way round.

Its primary responsibility is to seek ways to "make life easier and less costly" for the masses: That is the "acid test" of a good government.

When you "give" with the left hand and "take back more " with the right hand, you've given NOTHING!

Cheers.

@Kobojunkie
The problem in Nigerian is the People, not those in government, but the ordinary Nigerians out there who continue to empower, and embolden them in everything, and every way.
Exactly!
When one NPN bigwig came out around 1984 to tell us that "he has not seen any Nigerian eating from the refuse heap, that Nigerians are living fine, Nigerians did not protest, despite the wicked and crunching bite of 'SAP (structural Adjustment Prog.) and IMF' conditionalities imposed, to make life BETTER WORSE! Today, we know better! We know who and who, SAP enriched but definitely not the supposed masses.

When GEJ said he would rather "risk going into confrontation with Nigerians, over fuel subsidy, than tackle the "Cabal members" enriching themselves from it, "He knew what he was saying (and doing)!

When House of Assembly members appropriate jumbo pay to themselves without a care about the masses and their Senate President says "Arab Spring type of Protest" can NEVER HAPPEN IN NIGERIA, he knew what he was saying!

When Fela Anikulapo Kuti (RIP) called Nigerians "SUFFERING AND SMILING", he was 'spot-on' with his assessment!
grin

Thus when Fashola and Tinubu insists the people using and living along that refurbished road must be milked, to enrich themselves and NOTHING WILL HAPPEN, they know what they are saying!

Until NIGERIANS in general, can RID THEMSELVES of this "selfishness-induced" DOCILITY, l guess l should also look for a way to milk them as well wink angry

Even in Freetown, Freedom is NOT FREE, it comes at a price (something Nigerian masses are not willing to pay for themselves and their freedom!)

Until that day!

I rest my case.

LCC from day-one has Bola Ahmed Tinubu WRITTEN ALL OVER IT!
Dont mind the web of deceit he wove around it so as to befuddle "educated illiterates" like himself!

This Concessionaire is a criminal act to the core and l will bet that one day, just one day, one "Nigerian Rawlings" would have Tinubu's balls for this. Imagine all the "waivers and exemptions" they gave themselves!
Abuse of office to the core!

Fashola is playing dumb, closing his eyes to this brazen criminality (l can not rule out the possibility that he is assured of his own cut from this shenanigan) but as a Lawyer, l am sure he knows what the term "accessory" means.

BTW: It is erroneous to say Nigerians love freeloading.
I have seen Tolled-Roads in many parts of the world and it not done this way. Infact, you will feel very glad to pay those toll due to the "value they have added".

How can you justify 3-Tolls on one stretch of road, a road that you only added a SINGLE LANE and THREE ROUND-ABOUTS, A road that is yet to be completed?
And look at what they called "alternative roads"! Is it not obvious that the road mentioned is designed to cause you so much pain that you will regret taking your car on that bush-path, than paying Tinubu his retirement benefit? grin
In sane climes ruled by sane people, the "alternative route" is equally as motorable but might only be single lanes, longer route or even prone to hold-ups but not some dangerous dirt road that these clowns are pointing to.

Where in the world have you seen an uncompleted road being tolled? Why must everything be done with a criminal, fleecing intention, in Nigeria?
Why cant Lagos state Govt (Tinubu & Fashola) give them a concession to build a FRESH ROAD and Toll it?
Why did they not go and build the 4th Mainland Bridge and toll it and then see if people will not be happy to pay?

Tolling a "cosmetic job" on an already existing road is CRIMINAL.

Imagine if Jakande has the same mindset like these two thieves, He would have Tolled the same road, which he built from scratch, for over twenty years!

Politics aside, it is becoming very clear to everyone that Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done (and is doing) incalculable damage to this state!

His Greed and thievery is beyond understanding

Well, they say Nigerians dont have balls thus, Jonathan can double the price of Petrol without giving a hoot about the people;
Fashola and Tinubu can toll them to death, for some cosmetic roadworks, Okay, lets see if they are right or not.

For a Country to develop, "a few structures" must show integrity!

Among which is the Judiciary, which must be truthful and fearless.

The Military, which must be upright, selfless and dedicated.

The Populace, which must be steadfast in defending their God-given human rights

But even more important is the "Fourth Arm" of a Republic, The Press!
The Press must be a guardian of THE TRUTH, at all times.

The way Segun Adeniyi, (whom l know very well and in person) criticized and penned very incisive articles against the Government and policies of IBB, Abacha, OBJ, e.t.c, we thought when he was given the opportunity to be a scribe in Government, that he would live up to the same standard and yardstick, he has always measured others with!

But alas, the "typical Nigerian" in him, the "Typical Press-man" in him came to the fore!
History will judge Segun Adeniyi as on of those people who say "Do as l say, Dont mind how l actually do"! huh huh

@Sagamite
So you call beating your? pregnant wife to the point of losing a pregnancy a "misbehaviour"?

A grievous mistake?

Fck me Lawd!

Amazing view point!
This is an excerpt from my first post on the issue. It is “comment 143” on the topic.
Take this from me: Your husband's behavior is UNACCEPTABLE (l would ave used stronger words but l take it that couples do fight sometimes and reconcile after) BUT HE IS NO MURDERER!
Its very sad that you lost your baby when you and your hubby physically fought (l know he is stronger and the phrase you used was "he BEAT me"; but it still takes two to tango, sorry, thats how l see "fights", generally).
I can also tell you that your husband feels more pain for what happened, he suffers more and he bleeds inside, for that "baby accident" which he was the major player! I can assure you that he is regretting, continues to regret and will only forgive himself when you deliver TWINS to him, God willing.
The quote that got you got “fckd and lawd over”, came when l observed that there seems to be an “on-going reconciliatory tone” by the Poster and maturity demands that ‘l should not cry more than the bereaved”!
You can see how those that ‘took the other root” got politely reprimanded!

So, if it was not a "mistake" on the husbands part, that means he did is "deliberately"! huh (simple "word and opposite" nah?)

Wisdom comes with “age and experience”, believe me or not.

^^^^^^^^ Lastpage, how do you know that some women cannot hold their homes down and are offering advice, how about the men that have given the same advices that the ''so called married women'' have givenhuh
First, my post should not degenerate into “a Gender-War”, as you’re trying to infer.

Having said that, Women, as created, are “our mothers” and are uniquely gifted in certain things, over men! Making a home is one of such.
Men too, have their own unique qualities and that is why l will never be “a fan” of  all these “gender competition foolishness” that goes on in the form of “Equality of Sexes”.
Men and Women are not equal, not same, but are complementary!

Let me use these two cliché to answer you, in a nutshell:
1.)  “Out of the abundance of the heart, the Mouth speaks!”
2) “By their fruit, you shall know them” (Every good tree will definitely bear good fruit!).

When “A Doctor" starts killing babies, then you would agree, something is fundamentally wrong!

Lastpage I am surprised at your choice of words by going as far as calling people homebreakers. Whose home has anyone broken?

After investigation, it transpires that the OP modified her opening post but many people missed that (including me) and people are still having a discussion on the original topic as it were. . . don’t think that there is anything wrong with that.
I appreciate your comment and your position on the matter, as reflected above.

First, l see the issue as presented by the "Op" as one of a serious misunderstanding between her and her hubby.
I also sense that she still loves her husband (for whatever "derogatory reasons" as some her put up here) and what they are experiencing is one of those "communication gaps" in marriage which if left unattended to, may conflagrate into bigger issues.

The pregnancy loss as a result of her husband misbehavior (which l will conclude he has reflected on and realized his error) was a grievous mistake and very bad judgement on his part; it does not make him a murderer or beast as some are bent on painting him, to his wife (who wants to remain married to a murderer?).
In cases like this, l feel "matured mothers' in the house should sow comfort into thsi woman's soul 'cos she's gone through a lot already and asking her to dump her home at this time (recall that she said the man has not laid hand on her ever since, the man still consoles her on their lack of a child and though he comes across as one of those men with "outlandish fantasies" grin (man never finish the 'front job' im dey ask for back job! tough some women will swear that unless you do them back job, you are still a long way off wink ) he is not doing all these from a wicked heart.

His intentions are not "evil" as some are trying very hard, to make the wife believe and what do you think will be the aftermath, once "the wife swallows the picture they are trying to paint? BROKEN HOME, nothing less!

That is why l used those words and even made allusion to it, in mt first post (not knowing she would come and amend her post and tell us "all is now well".

i think people should be more reluctant to tell another female like themselves, to dump her home, her marriage and possible the children involved, at the first sign of marital upheavals.
You are married and l am married and we all know that "marriage has it challenges and it can also be the most blissful relationship in this world".
Some have not even tried to "walk the talk", while some ave "tried and failed woefully" yet they come here and offer ill-conceived advice, without due consideration!

What has a 23 year-old single male/female who has never married, got to offer in terms of advise, when it come to marital issues?
TextBook advise? Hearsay? Or just wishful thinking?

What good advise would someone who cannot hold her own home together got to offer?
Thats wat am saying.

We seem to be mixing-up issues here:

If you give someone (an Oba, a public Officer or anyone for that matter, "a Gift" in respect of "observable good deed(s) done in THE PAST, it is called APPRECIATION,.,.,.,.,and this is laudable BUT

When you give "a Gift" in respect of a FUTURE PERFORMANCE of some Ignoble act or when such Gift is given so as to sway the opinion or incite some performance (especially when the commissioner then openly reads the riot act (expectations of those in Power) to our supposedly "revered" traditional rulers, IT IS CALLED BRIBE!.,.,.,.,.,.and that is denigrating our 'traditional institutions'.

Imagine if Bode George first gave =N=50Million to that Pastor who preached at his "Thanks Giving Service" and then instructed the Pastor concerning "what to say"? How does that feel?

Okay, l am not surprised that some would support this action of the Government (and it seems it has become a pattern), it is common knowledge that most Nigerians are going through a period of moral decadence in our national and individual family life.

Both determine "how quickly" your machine will work, if that is what you refer to as "speed".

If you have the fastest processor and inadequate RAM, Computer will experience excessive "swapping" and thus a lengthy "return-fetch cycle".

If you have huge RAM and old, slow Processor, each computation cycle will take ages to execute, a slow PC results as well.
Both must be balanced, for optimum results.

Does anyone remember when Late MKO Abiola was detained in Prison and the Ooni of Ife (who was supposed to be the Paramount Yoruba Oba and a defender of Yoruba interest) was invited to Aso Rock? Only for him to come out and to everyone's consternation, the Ooni said: "The Man (Abacha) was making Sense"! grin grin
A few people said the Ooni got a lot of Ghana-must-go "gifts", to sound like that! shocked

Again, when our late President was in the throes of death (Or probably dead a long time before then; RIP), some "traditional rulers and religious leaders" where invited to "see him in action", they came out and said "The president was actually very well and was just doing basic exercise like push-ups, somersaults grin , running 100M-dash, e.t.c, just to get his muscles back in shape, to run Nigeria better! But "The Man Died"! lipsrsealed

Thus, we can sum-up that these traditional rulers have not only lost respect, they have become clowns, tools in the hands of "every" government in power and a disgrace to the traditional stools they sit on!
Most of them have become "beggers-to-government" instead of fulfilling their traditional role of custodians of our traditions! How can such an Oba fulfil his traditional role of "correcting or speaking truth to power"?

No wonder a Governor can just remove an Oba, anytime he likes! Where is the "traditional, spiritual selection process" that our forefathers use in selecting who occupies the esteemed traditional stool, in those days? What we have now are "cash-and-carry" Obas thus, their words holds nothing to the average Nigerian.

It might interest you that the govt has also copped-up to the strategy and uses money/gifts as inducement to these "men-of-the-belly", to make them "parrot" any unpopular policy they want to implement, hence the "instruction" of "a Commissioner" to "an Oba"! (Lord have mercy!)

Whether the people (subjects) still listen to these Obas or see them as a "modern-day joke and "Area-Boyz", is out there for everyone to discern! grin grin

BTW: Whenever you introduce "ethnicity" into a serious issue like this, you make it sound trivial and it deflects away from the real bone of contention. What is wrong, is wrong; irrespective of who the perpetrator is, Period.
Politics › Re: The True "beneficiaries" Of Subsidy Revealed by lastpage: 11:45pm On Dec 08, 2011
First, lets stop comparing "unlike things", it makes no sense to compare "Orange with Apple", that is what you get when you use the GSM Vs. Petroleum scenario! The factors involved are just too different.
While crude is a natural, free, god-given resource, GSM is a technology and it is not  free. Again, GSM has alternatives (good, old landline), it is imported "technology", less cost intensive (compared to building a refinery) and the profit is not only high but the "average-cost graph" reduces/degrades rapidly over time, which inturn ensures that the profit level can be sustained, even when "user-cost" is being reduced (all that B.Shyte about network Operators reducing price is exactly that, their profit margin remains sustained or even more!)

Crude on the other hand, needs massive investment to "Locate, Drill, and refine".
It makes more sense to compare the Oil industry with the "Energy" industry (PHCN or NEPA as the case may be).

Now, both are necessary utilities that people cant do without, to have a meaningful life.
Govt owes the people a duty to provide these "social services" while the people owe Govt a duty to pay a "reasonable price' for them.
We can shout on all major TV networks from today till year 3000, NO ONE WILL COME TO INVEST or BUILD ANY REFINERY FOR US!
Thats the truth. Why? Because the profit margin is SMALL, Takes VERY LONG to materialize and that is not the interest of "Private Business investors".

Our Problems:

1) Irresponsible leaders: We have leaders who are bereft of vision, poor in thinking and most of them are not even capable of running a successful private business (without the help of monopoly, mafioso-cartel price-fixing and many under-hand tactics that should normally put such business men in JAIL!). As long as we ave these type of people leading a great nation, surrounded by praise-singers and "men-of-the-belly", the way to go will always be "down".

2) Corruption: The President himself has told us that there are "powerful people" benefiting from the subsidy and l suspect he is afraid of them though, one might wonder how come a few crooks are more powerful than an "elected president"?
As long as we dont have a President in the mold of someone like Late General Tunde Idiagbon, Jerry Rawlings, men who are ready to put their life on the line, for their country, men who think: Country first, before self, men who are ready to confront and mow-down anyone who wants to bring this country and its masses, to shame and disrepute, Corruption will continue to be big business, with big profits while the "pain is passed down" to the common man.
It is these corrupt cabals (individuals in govt positions and their private agents) who benefit from the subsidy, they will also be the ones who will benefit from its removal! Either way, the smart crooks will seem to be winning! angry

Ask yourself: Why did a President of Nigeria "increase the pump price of petrol", seven (7) times within his eight years in govt, only to end-up building and operating his own PRIVATE REFINERY in Gabon (a tiny west-african country) but never built one SINGLE REFINERY FOR NIGERIA? How can one individual afford to build a refinery (because he was in Govt) while the country he was ruling cant afford to build one! shocked
Its ALWAYS the same EXCUSES! From IBB, to OBJ and now GEJ, its always the same excuse they all give, whenever they want to increase fuel price! Go back and read what each of these Presidents told us; Yes, do some research work and prove me wrong! grin
Why did IBB not use the money "he saved" from the price increase, to build five or even a single refinery? Why did OBj not build a single one, when he increased fuel price seven times in eight years? And what makes you think GEJ is different and "the savings" would not go the same way? Or did he not just "shared the savings" from the "excess crude oil account" with is Governors? Why did he not just use the money to build one refinery, at least to convince us that it is where further savings from oil subsidy removal will go? huh huh

3) Selfishness: Nigerians are extremely selfish. It is this same selfish attitude that the "elite ruling class" have discovered, and come to the conclusion that "No matter the atrocities they commit while in Power/govt", they can get away with it because the "average Nigerian will rather think and perfect ways of joining/benefiting from "the looting", than protest the criminal act.
Thus, Nigerians are not interested in a reformed Nigeria but rather, use all their energy and acumen in "fine-tuning" every criminal act that ever took place.
No wonder, looting has gone from stealing "a few thousand Naira" (a few years ago) to stealing "Billions of naira"; and even in foreign currency now!
Is that not enough evidence that the thieves are getting bolder, smarter and more daring? Why is kidnapping, human sacrifice and every abominable criminality on the increase, even in our places of worship?

I'll keep it at this three points for now (l know NL is not the kind of place to articulate this level of discussion but l feel sorry for our youths who have also fallen into this same pit of decadence that their parents dug-up!).

Like some have said, lets build our own refineries first (stop telling us about some fathom investors that would come when Petrol sells for =N=400/liter!).
When we emulate countries like Iran (in self sufficiency only, at least) in refining our own crude, the issue of subsidy will naturally disappear 'cos you will only need to subsidize what you import since so many countries have shown that the price of locally refined Petrol is affordable to every one.

Lets do something drastic about those stealing our patrimony. We cant go on like these forever! We can keep letting them take advantage of us, knowing our weakness stems from our selfishness and greed!
Have you not heard those ruling Nigeria say: revolution can never happen in Nigeria or say "Nigeria is not Tunisia or Egypt? These guys know what they are saying and unfortunately, we cant prove them wrong, as long as we think too much about our own selfish interest!

Most Nigerians are living just a whisker away from death. I see them everyday on the streets, l see the "lifeless stare" in their eyes! Most walk around like dead people (zombies), they dont even hear the car-horn anymore, they walk on motor ways like they are on a suicide mission 'cos their lives have become meaningless! I see a lot of young men who could have been "something useful" hustling all over the place, trying to out-smart one another, just to make a leaving!
Why are we turning our citizens into criminals? Abject Poverty makes criminals of otherwise decent people!

Of what value is this "one life" you have today, if you came and spent all your days suffering, never to fulfill your dreams, just because there are some greedy people in power? Is it not just a waste and is it not better to die than to just wander through life, suffering, hopeless and helpless?

If you are "young" and you're reading this, you are probably very fortunate 'cos it means you can afford and do have access to the internet! grin grin
That is how bad and of "low-quality" life has become, for most young Nigerians ! wink
Kids take such things for granted in some other climate but l still thank God for your good fortune; what about the other millions that are less fortunate?
"Running Abroad" is NOT the solution, only your country, can be your country, in the real sense of it;
Anywhere else, you're just a "Glorified Refugee" even if you're "granted" citizenship there!

Think, my people, THINK! Life is not meant to be full of sorrows, for children of a country so blessed by God.
ACT, Act my people; Nothing good is ever got on a platter of Gold.
Freedom itself is NOT FREE! it must be snatched by force 'cos God will us free but "man" will us slave! No man should be a slave to his fellow man!

Act Now or forever remain silent and suffer, and let your unborn generation suffer too; while a "few men" live unabashedly like money grows in their own back garden! ofcourse, its your money they stole grin grin

Am outta here joor! wink

Aside the squandering of his state's resources, is it GEJ that is belittling the office of the President of Nigeria or Governor Silva, when he openly THREATENED THE PRESIDENT OF THIS NATION AND HIS FAMILY MEMBERS by saying he would murder GEJ and his family! shocked

Tell me anywhere in the world where "any man" can threaten to slaughter a SITTING PRESIDENT, his wife and kids, OPENLY and yet he wants to have a "smooth ride"?
I've got NEWS for you: When his SINGLE TERM is over and he is purged of his "Governorship immunity", he will be charged for TREASON!

No one should have the audacity to threaten a common man, OPENLY, not to talk of someone who occupies the "position" of the President and Commander-in-Chief of a Country! Not Tympriye Silva, Not anyone. Wetin im dey smoke sef?

@Op:
Accept my sincere sympathy concerning what you're going through, l know its very tough but let me SOUND AN ALARM RIGHT-AWAY:

Be VERY CAREFUL about the kind of advice you take from this forum; even in your state of mind, you would have realized there are MORE THAN A FEW HOME_WRECKERS prowling around and wanting to wreck your home for you (make a bad situation even worse!) so you can be "one like them too".

He may "appear unruffled" on the surface (and you may interpret that as "uncaring"wink but the TRUTH is that he is only ACTING THE MAN.
.
He cares about you much more than you can imagine, that e would rather "suggest a backside entry" than leave you to bleed at home while he goes out to bleep someone else!

Think about it, "How convenient is it for a man to make love to his bleeding wife, when he could just drive for 5minutes and some wicked daughter of the devil is ready to satisfy all his sexual fantasies? WHY INSIST ON YOU?

I even read where you said he has never "touched you since then" yet some "adviser" called him an unrepentant serial abuser! Where did that come from, if not some wicked adviser bent on ruining your marriage?

Summary:
Forgive him first, the miscarriage was not intentional, it was a bad judgement on his part to even get physical with you, during pregnancy (or anytime for that matter).  Am sure he regrets it everytime he remembers why he does not have a child yet.

Communicate: Spouses are not clairvoyant! He cant read your mind or understand all your emotions and intentions. You have to tell him, in your best element! I have a hunch that if given the opportunity, he will be complaining that his wife does not talk WITH him as much as expected! wink
Okay, you dont enjoy the "behind stuff"  (l take it you are not referring to 'Anal entry' but to Doggy-style shocked) ) and he does not seem to understand, right? That can be worked-out by some calm, light-hearted, honest discussion between the two of you rather than some "evil advisers" trying to make him look like the Devil incarnate, to you! Remind him you're his wife and he should treat you with "love, care and adoration", let him know that not all "fantasies" can be "practicalized" with one's spouse, especially when there is no "agreement" to do it. Spouses must "consider the happiness of one another".
You obviously love him and women like you are the ones the Bible called "BLESSED" and referred to as "The Wise Woman" who keeps her home kiss (You have read from the foolish ones who have destroyed theirs! grin sad ).

PRAY: Keep loving him like you're his mother, God who sees the agony of the heart, God who heard Hannah's sobs when others said she was drunk, would hear your prayer. YOU will bear children, simply because you are working for your marriage, you have labored for it, you have shown faith in it, you have invested your happiness in it and best of all, you are a virtuous woman, precious than Gold.

Covenant with God: It can be anything, it does not have to be tangible, big or difficult! TELL GOD WHAT YOU WILL DO, IF HE MAKES YOU A MOTHER. Remember how Samuel's mother "covenanted with God" if HE gave her Samuel?
God loves and keeps covenant to bits but please, IT IS A MONSTROUS CALAMITY, if you FAIL TO KEEP A COVENANT WITH GOD!
I have promised to give #20 (yes, twenty naira!) if God does something l knew was impossible, for me. He somehow did the impossible and l was twenty bucks short! grin Not once, not twice, its a trick your Pastor never told YOU!. It can be anything, just make sure you can and will do it.

Okay, l am begining to sound like one of them Pentecostal preachers, abi! grin
But really, l feel you but God feels you more. HE will wipe away your tears and turn it to smiles.

Lest l forget, take that bit about going for a comprehensive medical check-up, to ensure you're in sound health, seriously.
Remove bitterness from your soul, sing praises to God instead of feeling low or angry,  (dont turn to S.U. ooooo, that one would put more strain on ur marriage! grin ). Be moderate in everything you do. wink

Cheers,
l dey write sermon sometimes grin

BTW: I know you want kids badly but take my advice: Enjoy your husband during this period when there are no kids yet, make the best of it. When those "gorgeous kids" finally arrive, there would be weekends when you will wish you could get rid of them and be left alone with you "lover boy"! angry wink

Family › Re: Why Do Some People Fear Registry Wedding? by lastpage: 1:08am On Dec 02, 2011
^^^^^^ U bw winch! shocked shocked

Funny the way you put it but l must admit it got me thinking!!

To put it straight (and draw flak), every woman that insists (or even suggest) on a Registry wedding is actually planning for the "death/collapse of the marriage", from day one! All se is doing is ensuring that "she gets a good deal" when the collapse finally sets-in.
Dont forget that its not always the case that a man marries a second wife is what causes marriage collapase, it may even be infidelity on the part of the wife?

Its like buying a little coffin, when you give birth (you're invariably planning for the death of the baby and thus the burial arrangements!).
Well, some women think its "smartness", as we can see from previous comments.

I dont blame such; we have women who never married in Registry, they enjoyed their husband for over fifty years till death took one of them first while the "Registry marriage" collapsed after a few years 'cos amongst other things, when "marital trials" rear their ugly head (and believe me, they do so in EVERY marriage), instead of focusing on how to "mend and repair the damage" both husband and wife simply and immediately went into "adversarial mode" whereby wife tries to get an unfair cut of the husband's wealth while the husband, knowing what she was after, tries to ensure that she does not go away smiling like someone who just won a lottery!
Again, if you keep reminding your husband that he would go to jail if he marries another woman (since he agreed to a registry wedding with you), you are either asking him to murder you first (as most white folks do!) or to father children "outside the marriage" while he works-out a messy divorce (since he now knows your plan for him, henceforth!).
Either way, your "marriage cert" is more of a danger to you! But l guess most women look at things in the "short term" and therefore, might not reason this way.

In my own humble opinion, l think such "Registry mentality" creates more harm than good. If everyone knows that "breaking-up a marriage" will not benefit them in anyway (the husband should not marry again, the woman should not be entitled to one cup of rice, from the husband, e.t.c), l guess both will think twice before saying "phuck-you, l dont give a damn about this marriage"! wink

Put mildly, the "Registry cert" does not guarantee you a lasting or enjoyable marriage, does not stop your husband from cheating or fathering children outside (and those kids have same right as yours, under the law! grin ), does not guarantee that you will get a sizable proportion of his loot or any of those thing women fantasize about, when they insist on Registry wedding. Even child support can e hazardous if the 'criminal' husband decides not to be gainfully employed since all those payment are "means tested"! grin grin wink

Dont buy a coffin for a newly born child! Its a bad beginning!

Just my take.

@Demdem.
I am not against calling "GEJ" as a person, names, if it catches anyone's fancy or brings some humor into our humorless lives.

What l frown at is calling "A SITTING PRESIDENT" such derogatory names. Maybe you dont agree with me, GEJ is not just GEJ (at the moment), he represents the heart and soul of Nigeria. He is Nigeria, He represents all of us.

If tomorrow, he is no longer the Commander-in-Chief, you're free to call him all the names you like, just like OBJ, IBB, e.t.c.

Its not about "the man GEJ", its about the "Office which he currently occupy and represent".

BTW: Retardeen is a "crude amalgamation" of two words (1)Retarded (2) Nurudeen, Kamorudeen (apologies to our Islamic brothers)

Odechukwu likewise was coined from (1) Ode (Yoruba word for FOOL). (2) The President's Igbo name.

While l flow with everyones frustration at the lack of direction of this government, snail-speed, reactive instead of being pro-active, misplaced priorities, lack of depth and breath, e.t.c, l am just urging us to restrain ourselves for the sake of that respected office he occupies, for now. wink
