@Jamexolo
Did you register "just" to say your piece about this mariage or are you just someone who is using more than one handle?

We seem to notice a lot of 'new members" recently, whose only responsibility is to rain curses on this woman call Mercy.

Since a lot of you'all know the "story from Italy", why dont you assist Lovelyn (if you love her so much), to put this matter to rest before Mercy marries Ode this saturday, BY HELPING HER (OR COLLECTING ONE FROM HER) GET THE MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE AND POST IT ALL OVER THE WEB?

I am sure if Pastor Chris sees a genuine marriage Cert, he would NOT conduct that marriage ceremony!

But instead of doing the right thing all we see and read is some "strutting, puffing and belching"! grin grin grin

This is very strange!

@ifyalways
I can't help but feel real pity for some people. They have been seriously dealt with in and out by the opposite sex,the scar is so deep, memories so vivid and wound so fresh that one can feel it even online.

E go better!
Gosh! This must be very, very painful to some people here-in!  shocked shocked
You w-i-c-k-e-d  no be small! huh

BTW: Why do most people shy away from the obvious truth about "modern day marriage"?

You know, our parents use to say "lets do it how its done, so we get the same result as we use to get"!

Its that simple when it comes to the reason today's marriage is no longer what it used to be.

@ariblaze.
we the men are no longer the men we used to be

whilst the women are no longer the women that used to be

ages ago man robbed women of their rights, now man has over compensated by over conceding rights

(please note i am not talking about female independence here oooo)

so the new age woman has come out super arrogant, super sensitive and super liberal minded so to speak.

the fall out. . . .man doesnt like what woman has become and thus self exist
So you know "this much" and you are asking that question in the first place?[/b

End of story joor!

You can be excused you if you truly don't know the Guy your daughter is planing to marry but please in the name of everything good stop using the name of GOD in vain.  Find out why the guy moved his family to Canada, find out why he RAN away from Italy. The real reason and not all these Lies! Okay he has Italian resident permit tell him there so so many people willing to buy him a return ticket to visit Italy. If he accepts, then you know everyone has been lying against him. It is time for people like CHARLES INOJIE and BENEDICT JOHNSON to speak out! because they were with Mercy on the European tour where she met the guy she is now planning to Marry. That the guy left his wife in 2006? You people must be smoking cheap crack  Go to Reggio Emilia Italy and find out! 2006 my foot! Your daughter is not the first actress that Guys from Europe come to Nigeria to sleep with, Amebor-Anjelar can name up to 6 of them and they are the top ones, but they chop, collect money and clean their mouth because they know some of these guys are married, but not your daughter, she had to take it to the next step. Well let her enjoy all the attention she is getting. Make dem no make Amebor-Anjelar vex o! because I go begin talk more

In that thread, l asked you a question and l will repeat it here by "re-posting it", since you have failed to address it.

@AmeboAjela:

Thank you for "introducing us to your exclusive jist" about this Groom to be, on your website.

I am just curious, ARE YOU THE SAME PERSON AS "BREEZE5000"?

I find some similarities that got me wondering:

*Look at the 'bosom' in both pictures of both handles (l have fondled enough bosom in my short sojourn on earth,,,, before l got married sha  ) dont they seem to belong to the same person ?
*Read the earlier "jist" given by Breeze5000 and compare it to your own on your celebs website, most are "verbatim"!
*Even the choice of word, language and pidgin English are carbon copy!
*Its even ironic that this your handle was Registered on Nairaland TODAY! Is that a little coincidence?

Now, l mean no offense, I AM JUST WONDERING ALOUD!

This Breeze5000 could be your twins sister somehow!
Hmmmmmm!

Can someone or LoveLyn herself SHOW US A MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE P-L-E-A-S-E?

I hear there is a "picture of them signing in the Registry, (if true) then a "Certificate" must still exist in that Registry. get it for us PLEASE!

But wait small naah!

Since like 1985, when fuel was like #1:80K per litre, l have been hearing that FUEL SUBSIDY REMOVAL is the reason for EVERY FUEL PRICE INCREASE!

*IBB removed fuel subsidy during SAP

*OBASANJO removed fuel subsidy about five times in 8yrs!

Each time, we hear that devilish term: DEREGULATION!

1.) How much is the fuel now? #80:00
2.) How much is the subsidy?

If you add (1.) and (2.) together, we should get the "real market value" of fuel, right?

Now, let them pronounce that VALUE in Naira
and l can bet you that a few years down the line, we will buy Fuel at that "value" and the likes of Iweala and OBJ will still come and tell us "The Govt needs to remove fuel subsidy"!

Bunch of heartless criminals, ruling a bunch of spineless citizens!

Point is, its just an excuse to create more money so they can still bigger amounts!

Dont mind these NATO and Rebel guys!
They've been playing their "Propaganda War" from day 1.

I know we dont like Ghadafi in these part of the world but lets be objective about "him" and the "interest of the NATO/Americans" in all these.

*First they told us Ghadafi and his sons are surrounded.
*Then they said "one body" is the dead body of one of his sons
*Then they said on Tuesday, ALL his three sons have been captured!
*Then we heard the "baad-man" himself made a radio broad cast! WTF? huh
*and then Saif Al-Islam also paraded himself openly in Tripoli!
Where is all the capture then?

And before you could say 'wetin', we heard the sons have escaped one by one! grin

Chineke, now its $1.7m on his head!

Nobody in his right senses expected Ghadafi to win this war, imagine an African country flooring the whole of America and European Powers combined? Naaah, give him credit that he lasted this long, if na Naija, it is just three days and all our soldiers will just remove their Uniform grin
Reminds me of what the Policemen do, when they hear Armed robbers are operating nearby! shocked

But did anyone remember that British BP was the first to say its going back to lick Ghadafi's sweet Brent crude oil? (The sweetest crude in the whole world!  wink)
Then the French Oil giant  also says its packing its bag in straight-away!
Even the Italian ENI oil wont be left behind!

So, its a scramble for the Oil of Libya
(of-course, whose gonna pay  for all those bombs they sued in killing Libyans, if not Libyan oil?)

Most pathetic is that even our own clueless govt is rushing to join the bandwagon of "I recognize the TNC of the Rebels"!

I guess we Africans are destined to be SLAVES of the Western Oyinbo people, proly thats why we are "dark" (hate to say Black wink in color!

Just wait and see "another Iraq" in Africa.  cry angry

BTW: With what OBJ did to Charles Taylor, Ghadafi cant be that stewpid to trust any of these African Govts offering him refuge?
They will simply hand him over 'nakedly"! grin

@Erico2k2: No beef, understood.

@must-2-far
As regards the individual who brought in a car from yankee and was issue with a 420k tax, the nigerian tax law states that taxable income includes,"income earned in, derived in, accrued in or brought into nigeria. . ." That is the basis with which the car was being taxed using what is called, "best of Judgement" assessment. The information provided by the individual at the tax office is not totally true.

If there are anymore questions I'll be glad to explain or comment on them. But if any name calling or mudslinging occurs I reserve the right to ignore.
Bros, try read the narration small naah, before commenting! Read my initial Post again PLEASE!

The car was BOUGHT IN LAGOS when he arrived from the States. It was NOT IMPORTED!
Even if it was imported, you pay "all taxes and tarriffs" at PORT CLEARANCE AND REGISTRATION!

Now, the car has been in use (after registration and all dues duly paid) for about a year, before FASHOLA TAX GOONS send a tax demand notice to someone who has "NO BUSINESS with any income" from Nigeria!
Funnily, the "demand was for INCOME TAX"! grin

Why should a govt be threatening citizens for no good reason? Cant they understand simple English that he does not live or work in Nigeria?
And when he asked them to show proof that "he earned any income" from Lagos, they said he should just go and pay first and complain later!

Question is how can you pay "Income Tax to Lagos State" when you neither live nor work in Lagos (Not even anywhere in Nigeria!)

The wife that works in Lagos pays Tax as Pay-as-You-Earn (PAYE) deducted at source (salary) and she has her tax Certs to prove that.

I hope we will address the substance and stop making excuses for this "glorified touts" called Fashola's Tax officers!

@Erico2k2
this is FRAUD, I beg you tell whom ever is responsible that you want to go to the TAX office or thier office to discos the issue and they should provide the invoice for you to pay in a BANK into a Govt account see if they wont slow,I dont know why people are so so sos o Ignorant in this day and age we just do follow follow,Tax is meant to be PAID monthly or yearly if they wher gonna charge you on something thats is workable ie no revenue derivatives or rather a TAX code then its a LEVy,if not then its fraud, the LAGOS STATE govt have a comprehenssive list of what TAX to pay and its available from thier TAX offix.SO if sombody or group of people are asking you to pay tell them you wanna go to court, you dont even need a lawyer.
@lastpage
A few months later, they threatened him with court action if he does not pay within two weeks!
He got their phone number and told them he cannot pay “double tax”, having paid tax where he is normally resident (and testified that he is willing to show them his tax compliance) and asked them what “business he transacted with them” in Nigeria or Lagos in particular, to warrant tax? He went further to ask where they got his details.

One of their staff later called his wife aside (she went there in person to present her own tax certificates) and told her that the government just “randomly picks” data from CAR REGISTRATION database and ‘slam people with fathom figures of tax”! The staff (wont mention the name) also said that they have been instructed to even impound the cars of such people if they fail to cough out the money.
Is this is Government by THUGGERY?
Can you reconcile the red & bolded parts of your comment with same types in my narration?
While you may mean well, dont go around calling people "ignorant or follow-follow" without actually digesting what was written!

SHE WENT IN PERSON TO THEIR OFFICE!
What else do you think she could or should have done in that office aside shooting someone?
The point is this kind of fraud is "institutionalized in the govt of Lagos state".
It has official backing, as long as it yields more revenue to the state government, they have even been enforcing it with armed Policemen!

What would you say about those that have to pay tax to the Federal govt, state govt and Local govt on the same taxable item?
The govt knows its wrong but they just like to abuse their power over the "unarmed" citizens!

Thats why l called them a govt of THUGS!
Business › Re: Should Unemployed Person Pay Tax? by lastpage: 7:01pm On Aug 23, 2011
@rabzy
Its very difficult to ascertain who really is unemployed in Nigeria, because of the very large people who work privately and at home.

I bought a car for my dad who is in his mid-sixties and has stopped working, the papers were in his name. He was apprehended by Kai officials in and was taken to their PWD branch. After we have resolved the issue with KAI, the Lagos state official there said before we take the car away we have to show evidence of having paid tax for three years which my dad does not have. Alternately she just taxed him a total of about 18k for three years which is the minimum he can pay.

All my explanations fell on deaf ears, i showed her my own tax card and all, but she said its not my name that is on the vehicle. She told us to go to a tax office and do an evaluation for my dad so that they can determine how much he would be paying or whether he would be exempted. We have not bothered to do that yet.

We sold the car and bought another one for him in my name.
@The One
This is one issueon which I'm having a running battle with Lagos State govt. Let me give 2 instances

1) My wife though a prefessional in her own right does not work because she has to take care of our little children. However, I buy our property in both our names (at least I shouldn't cheat the woman now?). When it comes to getting the gov. consent, they insist she pays tax and I explain that she doesn't work to no avail. I'm actually very angry because I personally pay tax worth more than most people's entire salary.

2) I'm in the process of setting up a business for my wife. To obtain approval from the govt the same tax thing came up. I believe since I'm the one spending the money, my tax info shld suffice. I believe govt is just lazy for their own gain, because I don't think it takes much to verify that we are actually married.

What this policy does is to short-change women. Men who are willing to buy things jointly with their non-working wives are discouraged from doing so because of the hassles.
I think its time people “riot” over these devilish cheating/abuses by the LASG, using executive powers to harass and intimidate citizens all in the name of meeting a set “Tax collection Target”.

Let me add my junior brothers experience to the above:
He is Resident in the U.S for the last 5years and works there.
He pays his Tax there and has his Tax certificates to prove that.
His wife is currently working in a Telecom Firm in Lagos and pays her tax (deducted at source, on PAYE).
When he came to Nigeria last time, he bought a car and registered it, paying ALL required levies. He used it for 7weeks and gave the car to his wife to take the kids to school and do normal daily mummy-runs, before going back to his base in the U.S.

Before you could say “jack”, Lagos State Tax office brought a Tax liability “IN HIS NAME” to the tune of four hundred and twenty thousand Naira (#420,000:00)!
Ofcourse, he wasn’t even in the country by then. His wife told him and he said “it must have been an error on their system”.

Now, one would wonder whether LASG has employed “Armed Robbers” as Tax officials!
Why is the government acting like a Despot?

Agreed that people MUST pay their Tax but should an individual who has no business dealings and don’t even live in Lagos, be forced to pay tax to Fashola at “gun-point” or with fear of loss of life and property?

We blame dictators all over Africa but a government that cannot even differentiate between "tax defaulters" and "innocent citizens" but would rather use force, violence and arm-twisting to get money from innocent citizens is DESPOTIC.

Guv. Fashola, as a seasoned Lawyer, knows better than these.
He should call his “goon-death squad” to order.
DO YOUR HOME WORK PROPERLY and stop harassing the innocent.
Well, my brother is waiting for the Thugs employed at the Tax office to charge him to court or to try impound his wife’s car so he can sue the shyte out of their silly ar.se.

Okay now, "Cicero" is Italian for "Family Head or Boss", right?
I give it to you Bruv, you're a real "Cicero"! Every letter of that word! kiss

Indulge me to quote you for a third time! grin
Friend, it could be the best thing you ever did for your family, but just as you have to work smartly to achieve results in your present job, you need to do same and more to take this step.
If you are lazy and don't want to kick it, then don't.
If the indiscipline in Nigeria has become so 'concretized' in your person that you won't try to change, then don't.
If you are typical about women's role and status both in the family and society, then don't.
If you are and impulsive spender and you are not ready to change, then don't.
If you intend to be so occupied chasing money and other achievement while the tv raise your children, then don't
If sleeping with white women and African American ladies is your life-long dream and you must realize it, then don't
If you must not accept the fact that moving to America requires some fundamental changes that will test your endurance and intelligence, then don't.
Friend if you are willing to and you are sure destiny is beckoning you there, don't listen to anybody, just go. American is better than Nigeria in 1,000,001 ways.
Man, you said it all.
But let me add a few more lines and dress it with "Salad cream".  grin

@Poster: You have a family; You have a not-so-bad job; You have an MSc; Thus: You're fairly doing well!
You want to "go to the next level", You are thinking ahead; You love your family and you want to "catapult them ahead, NEXT LEVEL" (as in U.S citizenship, in the long run).

Like Cicero mentioned, let me ask you more:
*What would you do if the American economy does not improve and getting a job proves very difficult for you?

*Knowing what it takes to "abandon and check-out", if it does not work out, how easy is it for you to "abandon and check-in" again? Note: You would have lost traction, footing an contacts!

*Are you the typical "Nigerian man" (the typical Ijesha man! grin ) who still believe in a "Matriarchal lifestyle" that says the man is the head of the family? Be advised, that dont work over here. I smell you have a loving wife and you love your family. Will you trade that for the level of "family breakdown" we have over here in the States and Europe? (Be aware, close to 85% of immigrant families that emigrate, get irreversibly broken down within 5yrs of emigration! reason being that our men are too stiff and rigid and would not be flexible enough to the western culture where the woman is the head of the family!).
I am harping more on this issue because "family is most important" as l see it and once "anyone" (God forbid its you) develop problems in that area, that fella, his wife and their children's dreams are ruined, the Oyinbo Social Welfare people would be too happy to help you break it down further, (We cant afford "another Obama" in the future you know! wink )
Would you trade your family happiness (wifey and children as you have it now) for that future Green Card? Which is more important to you?
Be realistic, at 85% "black family"  failure
rate, you can be the "struggling" 10% or the successful 5%!

*Have you seen people who checked-out and came back when it did not work-out, can you talk to them and share experience so you can learn and not make the same error they made?

*Aside when someone is struggling to earn a living, what exactly do you think "abroad can provide for you" (which you cannot get by travelling there regularly on Holidays), that you think you cannot get or make a financial outlay to provide for yourself?

-Is it stable electricity? How about if you really make money and invest and install Solar cells on your own roof, completely independent of NEPA?
-Is it Security? If Security were so difficult or impossible to arrange, all those much-hated Politicians should have been dead by now, including the IBB's, OBJ's, e.t.c. It costs money, l know but it is achievable is what l am implying.
-Is it good schools for your kids? It cost money but l assure you there are some "private" schools that are better than U.K/U.S public schools in Nigeria today.
-Good medical care? C'mmon, EKO Hospital along Ikeja Road is open to everyone. Just go along with your big purse! wink

In essence, with money, you can provide the best for your family in Nigeria without making yourself "An Alien"  grin in a foreign country!

Now, on the flip side, can you cope with the derision of being discriminated against, at every turn, by govt Agents (Police, Customs, Immigration, Courts, e.t.c), ordinary White folks that are way below your level in Nigeria, (have you heard the term: Abroad is a leveler" before?)?

What about the weather? grin Until you live there, you wont know what l mean, walahi!
The cold can and have indeed shorten th elife span of some darky Nigerians O! shocked From Arthritis, back pain, heart conditions (due to lack of adequate exercise and not sweating enough!), e.t.c.

What about the restrictions on your ability to just decide to "do whatever you like, at any fecking time" (We Nigerians call it FREEDOM and l love it sooo much" Build any kind of house, withdraw or save any amount, buy any kind of car l like, speed as l like on the Express road!, even yab Policeman if he did not give me my correct recognition grin ). Abroad na different sroty o! You go 'paam' and gentle like mad! huh
At times, even to repatriate your hard-earned money home, can be a hassle as "The Govt owns you and Whatever you have" over here.

I can go on and on but at the end of the day, its a question of putting the "Pros and Cons on a balance" and seeing for yourself where it tips for you.
Its your decision, its your funeral and its your enjoyment in future: YOU BE THE BEST JUDGE.

No Pain, No Gain! Are you ready to make the sacrifices?

Good luck and l pray that God of heaven will give you the wisdom to choose that which is right and most beneficial to you and your family, in the long run.

Cheers,

Not at all, l am NOT saying or implying that.
How can it be "nice or O.K." to get stuck on  a rail track? Its like playing with death.

But if you go back and read me again, l am implying an often repeated logic: There cannot be a crime when there is no statutory law against that offense!

And when l use the phrase "statutory law", l refer to a legally coded law, by the govt of the day.

By implication, the same govt that would enact such law owes its citizens a duty of care to "erect signs, barriers and mark the road" showing specifically that there is a law in operation at that point, demarcating its limits of operation and making it possible for the public to "make a choice": To Obey or to disobey

That my friend, you will agree with me, is how it is done in all those America and Europe that we are comparing ourselves to.

Let me stretch it a little further:
In the U.K for example, if someone comes to your shop and shop-lifted a bag of item and was caught on your CCTV Camera.
Though he was caught for shop-lifting (the CCTV footage), a simple "technicality" like not DISPLAYING A NOTICE THAT READS: CCTV IN OPERATION would actually make him WALK FREE! You MUST display the signage! wink

It is "settled in law" that you cannot make "a legality out of an illegality".

I hope l am able to explain myself better to you now?

Cheers,

^^^^First time you will ever commend on something l wrote! shocked

Now, lets get back to "hating each other as before"! Where is my CLAW HAMMER? grin grin

I forgot that l had said we have to be "good boyz and gaalz" henceforth! huh wink

Again,
If Lovely actually went out of her way to help the Prince and got thrown out at the end, then no amount of legality or technicality can fix that.
That you for using that "CLAUSE"
IF
We dont know the "exact truth" of what transpired between them and it seems they are both keeping it under wraps, at least for now.

We can only "work with what we know as facts" and that is why l am into all those "technicality" since its either the guy gets "mob justice" or he gets "legal justice".
But l have a feeling that since they are both exposed to foreign climes and the marriage was alleged to have taken place in Italy, "legal justice" is likely to apply in that kind of place thus, my attempt to 'lay it bare' along that line.

I will hate it for any spouse (man/woman) to shaft the other or for someone to shaft an even "ordinary friend" (how much more ur wife) who was there for you when you needed help. For such people, "KARMA" is always very brutal with them!

In the long run, "The same measure we use to measure for others will be used/applied to us"; it does not matter whether we like it or disagree with it, its a natural law of justice.

Thank you for taking the time to read through, seems like "a gazillion pages"! angry kiss

Celebrities › Re: Mercy Johnson’s Husband-to-be Prince Odianosen Okojie Finally Speaks! by lastpage: 3:34am On Aug 21, 2011
PLEASE permit me to disagree with everyone!
And l will explain WHY!!

I know some of you will also disagree with my "position" but again PLEASE do so in a civil manner, like polished peeps and mature adults.
I promise to do the same with you.

Like Breeze5000 has said, "No outsider can fully understand what goes on in a marriage, 100%".
I agree with him on this and this has always been my position (for example in the Who-want-2be-a-Millionaire-guy divorce with his wife Kate).

Again, l dont want to develop migraine (and no one should naah!) over another man's headache.

Traditional and Legal marriage are two different issues.

1st: Legal/Registry Marriage is marriage "Under the Act".
You cannot MARRY another except you're divorced of the first marriage.
I have put the word "MARRY" in bold, to emphasis that "it refers to another "Marriage under the Act or legal marriage".
Issues like having a child out of wedlock are not covered by the "Act" and such "out-of-wedlock children" are even recognized properly as those within wedlock. In law, there is nothing like "illegitimate children" anymore.

if a "spouse" contravenes the "Marriage Act", S/He commits Bigamy => liable to 7yrs imprisonment.
Am not the one talking here, its THE MARRIAGE ACT/LAW

2nd: Traditional marriage: This is covered by customary law (Law of Customs, Tradition, Religion or Beliefs of such AREA) and as we all know, these customs, traditions, religion and belief vary from place to place.
The obvious implication of the above is that "it is difficult if not impossible to LEGISLATE in a statutory manner" on such marriages.

Thus, Marriages under the "Traditional category" cannot be enforced for bigamy.
The couples can separate as they wish, even by word of mouth, they cannot be charged for abandonment, they can have multiple spouse, e.t.c.

The only universally accepted practice is that the children of any form of marriage must be provided for, by BOTH PARENTS! (Not just one!!).

QUESTION Then is: If they are married traditionally, He WILL marry Mercy and NOTHING GO HAPPEN!
Otherwise, he can be charged for Bigamy => 7yrs in the shyte-hole! wink

The ONLY WAY to PROVE a marriage under the ACT is by a MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE.
Every other thing (Pictures, witness, hearsay, e.t.c) is "circumstantial" and cannot sway the decision in favor of the plaintiff!
Remember that Photos can be photo-shoped? People can give false witness, Rumors can fly! grin wink

As for the Italo-connection, l will address this to "Breeze5000".

According to you, they were both "strugglers" in Italy.
You implied "over-and-over again" that she "did something" for him that "MADE HIM MONEY"?

Am wondering: Did she "pros.ti.tute for him"? Did she even remotely commit a crime for/with him and he made money out of it?

Okay, let me assume what you're implying is true (for arguments sake, l have this phobia against believing women who always claim they "made the man while they were together" because l always think if the man had no "prospects", you wont even marry him in the first place!).

If they did any of the things that are crossing my mind, THEY ARE BOTH CRIMINALS! At the least, she will be an accessory to the crime!
Should that be the scenario, Question is "Would she be ready and willing to implicate herself (and ruin herself also), just to ruin him along?
Self preservation is a virtue in every "rational" human-being! But then, not all humans are rational! shocked

Again, you mentioned that "Mercy introduced him to Business Contacts" and l want to ask: Could it be that he made his money from such "CONTACTS" as opposed to "using Lovelyn"?

As for many men going mad, sleeping and not waking up or all those issues, a lot of people also suffer such loss and some are not even married! some are old, others young and some were sick (or are you imply anything diabolical from their wifey, caused it? grin )

As for the children, if we can believe what this Prince says, then he is providing (or ready to provide) for their Up-Keep and discharge his fatherly responsibility towards them. FAIR ENOUGH.

Finally, l am firm believer that MARRIAGE should not be an ENSLAVEMENT for either a wife or a husband.
Like they say: if you love something dearly, set if free, if it comes back to you, it is YOURS for KEEPS, if it does not, it was NEVER YOURS in the first place! This applies equally to both spouse.

No spouse should keep the other one in bondage if for any reason, they dont find "Happiness" in that marriage anymore!

Separation, as undesirable as it is, is better than them engaging in Domestic Violence or even harming each other and embarrassing their children, family and country like the case of Nigeria's Ambassador (Dr. Wigwe).

The 50,000 women that are planning to disrupt the marriage are better advised to "act within the law" or else they might all end-up in jail grin

They can all contribute money to the other woman (Lovelyn) and get her the best Lawyers so she can institute a criminal action against the man (Prince huh ) in a law court instead of behaving like some gangsters or modern day, feminine Mob!
The issue at stake is not about "who can be more violent", it is about who has flouted the LAW!
Imagine if 100 men start scattering the marriage ceremony of any woman they "disagree over"? Wont that be anarchy?

BTW: @Breeze5000: Be careful whatever "information you spread about others" (am not saying you're lying against them or you dont have the right to freedom of speech), just that you should be ready to corroborate it with "irrefutable proofs", l will feel sad if you say something and both "husband and wife" gang-up to say You lied, it never happened! Slander and defamation of character is a very serious offense at law! grin wink wink And you can never say, with people who have "something in common", especially when they are husband & wifey!
"As thick as thieves", comes to mind! grin

Now, everyone should feel free to make their own opinion known, like l have made mine known, in a very civil, matured and decent way.
Its just an opinion, we can air our views without resorting to gutter language or just vomiting foul language like a born-throw-way!

Cheers,

APPEAL TO SEUN:

Can you help us use your good medium to set-up these Petition?
I can remember a similar thing was done on Nigeria Village Sqr (sorry Oooops! you might not appreciate that! wink ) when the British Airways Maltreatment of a Nigeria on their flight, came up. Peeps logged-in and by clicking a button, signed the petition.

It had a good effect as the BA authorities were forced to respond (they intended to just ignore us initially but the "noise" was becoming a "movement"wink.

We can draw attention to the story. Others can also "replicate the sad story" on other Nigeria websites like Sahara Reports, Gboooza, e.t.c. we can author a "fresh article" on it also, giving insights and coalescing other examples of Police brutality that happened in recent times.

Does anyone still remember the "APO SIX" and how the Policemen in Abuja (including a DPO!) killed five innocent Igbo Traders-boys and then raped, tortured and finally murdered the girl friend of one of them, to make six heinous killings?
These "Criminals in official Uniforms" with a big pot-belly are a personification of EVIL!

PLEASE Help on this Seun.

Well, from the look of things, l hope those of you who were "comparing Lagos to U.K" and criticizing the Poster, can as well tell us whether a
Met. Policeman would "open fire on a woman" who is unarmed and not in anyway a threat to the officer, in the U.K? Please tell us NOW!

I have also driven in about four European countries and in America.
We all know what it takes to get a "Provisional License", not to mention going for a Full License!
We all see the road markings, for every single "information, caution and requirement" directive.

In those countries, they dont expect you to use "COMMON SENSE", they expect you to "OBEY THE LAW"!

The onus is on the government to ensure that adequate laws are in place to protect the citizens and if you flout the law, you get a fine/disqualification/jail time! wink

Let me bring some humor into this discourse! grin
First time l drove in the U.S, after just landing there for just over a month, l was always waiting for other drivers at junctions, flashing them to "pass or cross", just out of courtesy!.
I thought l was being "nice" by giving-way to others as this is almost unimaginable in Lagos! grin

To my horror, a few Yanks gave me the "middle finger" sign on such occasions! angry

A few months later, l wanted to sit for my Full License and l raised the issue with my instructor.
He said l was actually contravening driving rules, by asking people to pass or giving them the go-ahead at a junction with a traffic light.
How l asked?
He said, "the LIGHTS and SIGNS" are there to "direct and control" every driver's action and those things dont need help from me!
He also said that as long as everyone obeyed the light/signs and markings, ALL WILL BE FINE!

Well, l felt stewpid for trying to be nice! grin grin Now, l am not nice anymore, l just drive and dont give a hoot!
wink grin

My point is this:
If there was no sign indicating a railway crossing, if there was no ground/road markings indicating a "No-Stopping/ Non-stationary" action, you cannot blame the Poster for not obeying one; ITS NOT ABOUT COMMON SENSE, ITS ABOUT THE TRAFFIC LAW!

If we must compare U.K/U.S to Lagos, we must then compare them in "all ramifications"!
Dont compare Apples and Oranges please.
What manner of U.K Police would point a gun at a woman, IN PUBLIC and actually fire a shot,, ,.,., and then MISS from point blank! shocked shocked

Cheers.

I feel really really sad, reading the plight of this Danfo Driver (l detest them a lot, meanwhile!).

@VUVUZELA
In an enlightened society, the Inspector General of Police would call for a thorough investigation of this matter but he is incomprehensively incompetent. Most policemen in Nigeria are into armed robbery. God bless Nigeria.

Its all a racket
, if you know how the corruption goes from "Bottom-Up", you wont wonder why the I.G is unfazed by such happenings and why he cannot discipline his men: They are all into the "Make Returns" syndrome!

a.) Corporal "extorts money" from the public, by any means (killing, maiming, unlawful detentions, violation, e.t.c)

b.) They gather the money and meet their "target for the week" to the DPO. (He in-turn is ready to shield them from all atrocities)

c.) DPO then forwards the "stations's contribution"  (and so do other Police Stations do likewise) to the State Commissioner, through their "Area Commanders".

d.) The State Commissioners then "remit" their states contribution to the I.G.

Its that simple.
*Or how else do you think Tafa Balogun was able to amass those "Billions of Naira"?
*How do you think our likeable Mike Okiro was able to become javascript:void(0);a multimillionaire as a civil servant?
*How do you think all those Senior Police Officers are able to build all those houses they own?

BTW: Any Policeman that "rocks the boat" of this fine arrangement only has himself to blame: He gets posted to stand in one obscure corner of the station or to sweep the corridor of the station. No "Egunje", No Bonus for him! grin

As for this unlucky Danfo driver, l wish we can have a way of sending a "One Million signed Petition" to Lagos State House of Assembly, for an investigation to be launched on this matter.

Where are the "LAWYERS" in the house? Can any of you (with the support of hundreds of N/Landers) take up this issue as a human rights violations? Good publicity and a good deed to mankind.

That was how  Festus Keyamo started, using the FRYO cases naah!

So saad indeed.

On a closer look, can anyone see a connection between this kind of "public beeping for pay" and a breakdown in marital values?

How for example, can a woman who has bleeped every Tom, Dike & Haruna in Nigeria (especially Ondo and Jigawa! grin grin ) now settle down to marry one "serious acada guy" who has struggled all his University days, to achieve a 1st Class and then get a good job?

They just dont operate on the same level anymore!

The marriage would be a sham from day one and the guy would be a mugun!

One small "shakara" from Mr. husband would elicit a response like:

Who you tink say u be sef? (in her brain, she's thinking only if you really know the type of big guys l have bleeped in the past, you would not dare open your mouth and try to shakara me grin )

Meanwhile, Mr. "l am the husband" is thinking "What the heck suddenly went over my respectful wife"! shocked shocked

To me, marriage is (has) gradually lost its moral virtues. Its not worth the trouble for a man, no wonder those "smart" Oyinbo people have things like "Partner", "Co-habiting", "Pre-Nuptial" e.t.c!

But "legal wife" is fast becoming outdated amongst them.

I really pity the "younger ones", after all the "wahala of making a success of your life", see the type of what you will LIKELY (a minute fraction wont) end up with!

Really sad but no be today sha, we had it coming for some years now.
