RomanceRe: Why Don't Women Go Back Home To Marry? by lindabon: 1:17pm On Oct 18, 2011
most times, 9ja men are always easily intimidated if they have a successful spouse or a woman who has more to offer to them in a relationship. Low mentality and low self esteem plays a big role here. . . .
This is not always the case for a 9ja woman back home. . . one or two children for the obodo oyibo guy and they will relapse in hopelessness, while lazing about the house, thinking that they have achieved their sole purpose as a woman. ( esp those one's that think that the sole purpose of marriage is to procreate and tie the man (and themselves) down with babies. angry angry ) . .
I keep praying for most people to start thinking differently in 9ja, and leave all this backwards and old peoples mentality behind undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided

RomanceRe: Is My Boyfriend Into The Igbo Mafia? by lindabon: 1:03am On Oct 18, 2011
Lemme assume "igbo mafia" is a name you are trying to use to describe some kind of "dubious" activity.

Then, why not ask him what he is on about? If it's something genuine, he would give you an honest reponse.! if it's something "dubious", he will give you a shabby response.

Language difference is a big barrier in most relationships.

But an Igbo guy in "Spain" making funny and suspiscious calls. Something doesn't seem right to me!  undecided undecided undecided

RomanceRe: Asking Your Boyfriend For Money by lindabon: 12:27am On Oct 18, 2011
Me I can't ask my bf for money(especially if its a naija guy undecided). If i have a bad need for money, he should have recognized the need and may suggest to help me out. If he doesn't suggest, i'll take it that he doesn't have,

But maybe your friend should tell him that she will definitely giv him back his cash whenever she is financially able to. . . She should swear she is gonna payback and she can even surrender her int. passport or any important credential (e.g school certificate)for the guy to keep on hold until she is ready to payback. That way, the guy go no say the babe needs the money badly. grin grin grin grin grin grin
RomanceRe: Village Girls Are My Choice. by lindabon: 12:02am On Oct 18, 2011
@OP,If you want to glorify "village girls", you should have used a classier name for them. that name "villager", doesn't do justice to the attributes you are trying to associate them with. undecided undecided undecided

RomanceRe: Can You Marry A Lady With A 3rd Class Degree? by lindabon: 3:49pm On Oct 17, 2011
Is your relationship with the girl "loveless"?
If so, then don't marry her and look for someone else with the kind of degree you want.

on the other hand;
Is your relationship with her built on love?
If so, who gives a Fxxx about degree? Marry her for who she is and hope for the best.

Obinoscopy:
What will never seize to amaze me are the numerous minatory retorts by nairaland babes (and consequently nigerian babes by extension) when a guy makes a seemingly satirical statements against them.

One thing they'll never understand though is that these retorts tend to depreciate their feminine virtues.
And who says my previous comment wasn't satirical too?  grin grin grin grin grin

Well, point noted (apart from that feminine virtue bullcrap)

whenever she feels she can take care of kids, and whenever she believes that she doesn't need a man, i think its more advisable to procreate then! For me, it's better than dying alone  undecided undecided undecided

That is incorrect people are marrying and remarrying all the time, some people meet thier soulmates at different stages of their lives.

I know some people who have just fallen hopelessly in love and they are in their 70s , who will think a 70 plus babe still gets toasted but it happens all the time, age 40 is a baby sef , everything depends on ones state of mind some people clock 40 and the just wait for death to happen  cry cry cry cry cry

RomanceRe: To All Females by lindabon: 4:05pm On Oct 16, 2011
@OP, well said . . .

The one that beats me is the kind of loveless marriages most 9ja girls end up in, just in the name of marriage. Take it or leave it, Some people enjoy being single;Why it pains others is what baffles me.

And yes the rate at which most 9ja men use marriage to get laid is just alarming and embarrassing. When the marriage tactics doesn't work, they will switch to advising on how good it will be for the lady to have children for him while she is still young bla bla bla. If that one still doesn't work, they will now start giving you their phone to yarn with their family members. . . . NA TODAY! !  angry angry angry

For those saying that OP is consoling herself; first try and read meaning into the point here first;

There is no place she mentioned that she is against marriage or that she doesn't want to get married.

The point stressed here is that marriage is not a do or die affair! I know a lot of ladies back home who have either become depressed, gone out of their minds or have become deluded as a result of their unmarried status<<< Now tell me, for someone going through such psychological issues, how will they even attract the opposite gender.This post is just saying that unmarried ladies should still find something to live for other than "men"! Instead of them to wallow in pity,  why not cultivate that wasted energy into something more positive; doing things that will make them happy, Thinking about how to increase their financial status, going on holiday, visiting nice places, making friends, etc.

Pastors that wont get off your back about the issue of marriage are the ones that are relying on your tithes and offerings, and other cash that they can scheme from you as a result of your sad state.
Men that keep harassing you with overtly empty marriage proposals are losers.
And people that keep hiding under the pretense that marriage is everything, need some serious reality check!  undecided undecided undecided

If a lady is going to die single by no choice of her own, why not live her years in happiness instead of living the rest of her life in dismay, disappointment and agony! that's the "main" point of in this post.  undecided undecided undecided
RomanceRe: Why Do Guys Lose Interest In Relationships After The Chase? by lindabon: 1:52pm On Oct 16, 2011
hmm, interesting
well, i would think it depends on the kinda guy.
had ex's and for 95% of them, the fire was still on until we broke up (Most times even after the break up).
if a guy stops texting or calling after u guys become intimate, i honestly believe that such guys  where only after s.ex not you. Someone who truely loves you can't stop loving you just because he has gotten what he wants (what a baby!)

Well, i try to be on thesame attraction level with the person i wanna date. I hate being chased; too needy, obsessive, pathetic and i can't help thinking that all the person wants is to "hit that"- which irritates the hell out of me! So if i like a guy, i tell 'em straight up, no need for the chasing!  angry angry

When a man is looking down at your bosoms or behind and professing "love", or when he only remembers that "he loves you" @night, run as fast as you can.
Unfortunately, most 9ja guys and girls can't differentiate love from lust  undecided undecided
