Space book, no data to watch the video. I go update my comment later base on wetin the commenters below who have data and must have watched the video commented. |
mansakhalifa:This is much ado about nothing! JAMB is not forcing any University to admit students with 120 in UME....120 is just the minimum cut off point, each University have the liberty to e.g. set even 300 as their cut off point, if that will meet their admission goals. The 120 cut off only means more students will qualify for post-UME, which is more money for the schools...I don't see why they are complaining. |
Legally, am trying hard to understand the the crime for which he is been held and would be charged? I doubt if our laws have advanced to the stage such that 'Africa magic' to murder someone would be considered as evidence. It is appeared that he has not even done the 'Africa magic' yet, as the completed payment of N100k was still found on his person. Also, those pictures appeared not to have been downloaded, they are studio printed. The only crime am seeing is obtaining money under false pretense. |
ebosed:The petition was not against the church and I doubt if the petitioner knew the church was involved at the time of writing the petition. It appear that, it was during the investigation and through the confession of the fraudsters that he mentioned the church and that you donated part of the money to the church use some to buy them busses. The Pastor of the church did not deny the allegation, his rebuttal was that, the money has been sent to headquarters and attempt to get it from headquarters is stonewalled. |
phlopholly:It appear that, you are the one with a shallow mind here or that lacks reading comprehension. None of the hypotheticals that you alluded to above took place as indicated by the OP. 1. This was not anonymous donation or a case where the Pastor did not know the donor or the Pastor was absent was not aware of the donation. 2. It is not also a case where the individual that was defrauded went to accuse the church. 3. The defraud individual took her case to the Police and the fraudsters was arrested and confessed. 4. The fraudsters said he donated the said amount to the church and also bought them some buses. 5. The local Pastor of the church, agreed to receiving the said proceeds of fraud, but indicated that he had since sent it to headquarters. 6. It is headquarters that is stone wall-ing. You don't need a court to do what is right, even the Bible say we should rather settle our differences among ourselves and not in front of a magistrate in court, the court knows better as this same sermon comes from their pulpit everyday. What other proof does the church needs? The fraudsters is even more righteous than the church here as he pleaded with the church to refund the money. There is to dispute here to be resolved by a court, we only go to court to resolve disputes and not a as a cover to force us to do what we know is right. The person that donated the money that the Pastor acknowledged receiving, came out and told the church that the money is the proceed of fraud and the person that was defrauded have a genuine case open at the police and you still want a court order before the money can be returned? My guy use your church mind reason this thing na? Let's me independent for a second and call a spade a spade. |
Why do people become defensive, when someone points at the obvious e.g. that they are obese? Agreed, it is not one of the greatest platitudes one expects to hear about themselves or their loved one, but if it is true that, the individual been referenced is actually obese, then the outrage is misplaced. If I havd HP and someone tells me that, I will not take offense, but would instead look into correcting or if I have make up my mind or tried many corrective measures and failed, I will accept it as part of move on. |
I thought they have outlaw okada in Lagos, or was it only restricted from some areas? |
nemynely:You have to go beyond the letter and examine the substance of the case. The quality of the letter just showed that, the lady went to quack or substandard lawyers and there many legit but quack lawyers around, it does not diminish or deny her claims. |
Charly68:Re read, the claim...the very fraudsters who gave the money to the church and bought them buses pointed to the church and pleaded with the church Pastor to refund the money. What I did not see is a denial from the church...rather a concession or is it a confession from the local church Pastor clearly admitting not to only accepting the money, but sending same to the headquarters, and a bid to retrieve the money from headquarters and give it to the rightful own is met with a sternly looking lawyered brick wall to keep away. |
faithscharms:Not true, if any Nigerian swap places with the church, they will be in kirikiri by now. Majority of the people EFCC is prosecuting today, got their money as a way of gift. If someone gift you a stolen money or item, you are criminally liable and that is not me talking...it is the law! |
AceDomino:The fraudsters who gave the money to the church and donated the buses was the one that pointed to church, the church is therefore criminally liable as an accomplice and should in the lest return the money. If myself or yourself swap places with the church in this saga, we will be cooling our feets off at kirikiri as accomplices and why should the church think they should be held to a lower standard? |
ecoeco:Yes, by law the church have to refund the money as the circumstances and the confession of the fraudsters clearly indicates that part of the money was used as donations to the church. The fraudsters even pleaded with the Pastor to refund the money to the rightful own. Even if the fraudster did not confess and did not plead for the return...if some 'dash' you money and that money was linked to a fraud, my brother, you will be charged as an accomplice, it is same as the police finding stolen goods on your person. I was expecting the church to maintain a higher standard above Nigeria criminal law...here, they are even trying to say that, they should be exempted from what is applicable criminally to the larger society. |
salford:Yes, secure credit card is a kind of prepaid card but card but better. It's a bridge between credit card and debit card. Like you indicated, credit card are unsecured and as such, the bank need somehow of knowing you will pay back, the most popular way of knowing this is your history of past credit payments from others....this becomes a catch22...since you can't establish history of past credit repayments until someone gives you that credit...and nobody is willing to give you that credit until they see some past payment history.... That where secure credit cards come into play...with debit cards and prepaid cards, you are spending your money, they are not credits and as such no body keeps records...with secure credit card...you approach a bank that offers that facilitates and give them say N500k, then they issue you a credit card secured by that N500k...each month they send you a bill and each payment is recorded in your history as credit payments...you don't have access to your N500k until you either close the account or the bank has established enough history and converts that secured credit card to an unsecured one. Credit cards are preferred anytime any day compared to debit cards, they offer more features and better protections. |
chopbanana:They do, but you have to be credit worthy. Also, If you have an asset worth some reasonable value, you can get a secure credit card. |
Unimaginable123:That is the minimum...and I doubt if higher JAMB scores is an accurate criteria to judge students' performance against their peers in subsequent or previous years. Cut off points are relative i.e. Schools adjust them up/downward until they fill their quota, so for a year that most students score very high, it is natural for the cut off to be high and vi-sa-vi. High/low JAMB scores between successive JAMB exams could be a function of the exam for that particular year....and not necessary because.... on average, all the students for certain years were brighter/less intelligent, compare to students from previous years. |
Blue3k:It takes a foresight to do what is doing...it is more profitable to invest in a place, where you can easily get returns. Driving the point home...if you have made up your mind to invest in e.g. Real Estate and you have the choice of either building in your home state capital vs Lagos, which will you choose? I don't know about you, but my choice is obvious and that is Lagos...and that choice is backed by many sound and logical reasons, including vital and strategic ones. |
GMBuhari:I don't see a win for them, if they didn't block VPN as well. If they succeed in block whatsapp, Facebook, etc; with VPN, you can circumvent those restrictions and still have access to those Apps, so they are still lossing and their main goal of blocking those Apps would have been defeated. |
Vioncy:VPN - Virtual Private Network. It is a technology that allow your internet connected end devices e.g. Phone, laptop, PC to establish a tunnel to a predefined server or gateway on the internet. Your local service provide does not have clue what kind of traffic are inside this tunnel aka pipe and hence cannot filter out things like Whatsapp, Facebook, VoIP, etc. But, since VPN are established via well-known protocols and ports, the establishment has to first be negotiated through your local service provide routers/firewalls, they can drop the VPN protocol or ports and your tunnel will not come. A side note though; since VPN adds additional encapsulation layer to your IP packet, this increases your RTT and VoIP need at most RTT of 150 ms. |
nurey:VPN can be blocked too. |
INTERMAN:I was just using hypothetical cases....to illustrate my point..cut off also varies from one course to another even within the same school. |
Qyubee:I don't see anything laudable about this. This brings lots of uncertainties and confusion, and the privilege to choose the University one will attend is taken away except for the three Universities that might pick a student. So, if I score very high in jamb e.g. 329 and my dream is to attend OAU....if by some luck Some three unknown Universities with cuts like 180, 190, 200 get in front of the line ahead of OAU with cut of 310...I will be stuck with these three unknowns, despite the fact that I clearly met OAU criteria. The choice of which Univeristy or School to attend should be returned to the candidates and not some central arbitrary system. There lots of things that goes into choosing the state/city/school one wish to attend, these criterias are a complex mix of attachment, religion, sediments, relationships, geopolitical, emotions, educational standard, environment, location, economy, state of mind, friends, foes, tradition, personal attraction or affinity, specific and targeted goals/plans colleagues, politics, etc ... and some central decision making portal cannot replace these. I pray and hope that this fails hopelessly and badly. |
Einl:Not true, even the above article indicates that...there is a Delta direct flight between Atlanta & Lagos. Most people, especially from the East Coast in the US despise that flight, because you have to travel backwards (westward) to Atlanta, do a stopover before the plane will travel Eastward towards Nigeria, as a result most East Coast travelers prefer going through London or Europe. The NYC - Nigeria direct flight is a welcome development, it will represent a major competition between European Carriers and Delta for East Coast travelers, though am not completely sold as American carriers' services are not at par with their European, Asian or even Arab counterparts. |
ExInferis:It is true that, a prophet is without honor among his own people... Some History perspectives are in order.... The Chevy volt was initially unveiled as a 'concept', many Volt Designers presented their concept designs and Jelani Aliyu's concept design was chosen, which was further developed into a production model. Bob Boniface was not the designer, he was the Design Director. You must have picked the names of Bob, Ken & Gary from a local Ohio publication because, they were the three Ohioan natives on the design team and it is normal for a local publication to highlight the achievements of their own, just like the Nigeria and African press are highlighting Jelani's achievement. This is the Chevy Volt inside story, if you take time to review it, you will see Jelani mentioned there and not Bob. http://www.motortrend.com/news/chevrolet-volt-inside-story/ An excerpt from the book 'Chevrolet Volt Charging into the future' writes and I quote in parts: "...On April 28, Lutz, General Motors' Global Design Director Director Ed Welburn, and advanced design chief Anne Asensio reviewed designers' proposals for the concept car. Exterior designs were presented n sketches and scale models - five from the advanced studio in Warren, Michigan; two from GM's advanced studio in England; and two from the company's advanced studio in North Hollywood, California. One design already had emerged quickly as the favorite within Boniface's Design-North studio. As Lutz and the company's top design managers winnowed the entries, it was clear why. "Jelani had just captured the grace and proportion we wanted for the concept car, and we fell in love with it," Boniface remembers....." There are countless international links validating that, Jelani designed the car, not just Nigeria links...it depends on your search criteria and your ability to conduct your searches in such a way, that local Nigeria geographical contents are deprioritized. |
GMBuhari:Gun shot can't be 'blunt force trauma'...another term for 'blunt force trauma' is 'non-penetrating trauma' and usually caused by a blunt object...the above injuries were not caused by a blunt object, and they are penetrating and as such, can not be called 'blunt force trauma'. |
StakerLives:You dey call that one journalist? Journalists don't create news, nor do they insert themselves into the news...their function is to report the news 'as is' without personal bias or opinion. |
ExInferis:You must be looking at the wrong places or not looking at all.. Try Chevy Volt wikipedia page, if you can't read the whole stuff, just search for 'Designer' on that page...there is only one reference to that one on that page, you can't miss it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Volt |
Fools are born everyday, another missed opportunity to increase your cash flow. Simply ignore the money and alert and pretend as if nothin happened. Off course, don't withdraw or spend the money, if you must use that account, make sure to use only your money. Banks have checks and balances to allow them to backtrack and trace out these type of errors, eventually they will find the error and correct it debit your account in other to get back the money. However, this process could take days, and the money will continue to accrue interest in your account...once they take their money back, you will be left with some sizable accrued interest. |
This space is not for sale! I change my mind, this space is now for sale! Name your price and don't be stingy for with the same cup that you measure it shall be measured back to you...aka, if you price my market cheap, na so people go price your own cheap too. |
Create a new profile and give him that one. |
alexistaiwo:I guess you didn't comprehend the OP' question...the question is why is it 'bachelors' and not 'spinsters', since both designations fits your description above or better award 'bachelors' to make graduates and 'spinster' to the female. The only explanation to this, is that only men were in the room, when that decision was made and bachelor was a natural choice. Same thing with 'Masters', agreed mastery means a superior knowledge or skillset, but it is also a male designation. Most likely the reference to males as 'Master' was deliberate and well thought out scheme to postulate that males are superior to females. |
She is too cheap, that is less than $1,000.00....if you want to eat a frog, at least make sure that you eat the fattest one. Abi no bi her mates dey sell their own for $3.7 million so? https://www.google.com/amp/www.foxnews.com/story/2009/01/15/22-year-old-sells-virginity-online-and-feds-cant-do-thing-to-stop-her.amp.html BTW, she mean say her married benefactor was not benefiting? I find that hard to believe, making this story a fake one! |
Andyblaze:Be careful what you wish for....As you don get more than 100 likes, if you no marry dis year eh! The thunder wey go.........still dey do press up for Shango shrine. |
