If one is separated from family and friends and has been in captivity for more than two years; after gaining their freedom, the logical thing to do is to go home and spend some quality time with friends and family. This is how humans are built by God and should be the first priority.

Injection is actually first and best option. It goes straight into the veins and mix with the blood and starts working immediately and is more effective and potent.

Look at the Nigerian factor. She might not get better or awaken, if her people does not show up.

The Hospital might have done this via proxy, so her people can show up to balance the bills or so they can have some assurance. Plus, they might not be too enthusiastic in expending further treatments if a payee does not show up.

He must have a defense, else the case will not on. No Judge would allow a case to go to trial, if a defendant who want to be represented could not find any to represent him/her. The Judge can even order certain lawyers to defend him.

If his defense are lackluster because they are not interested in the case, that will be a ground for appeal...if the trial move ahead without him getting representation despite his insistence and ability to pay, it also a ground for an appeal.

Why does the mother need to hire a lawyer?

This is a crime and should be prosecuted in court by the government.

Yes, rent is a civil matter and no one should go to prison...Most likely, she was in jail awaiting trial and not in Prison as-is, she did not come in front of a judge who then heard her case and send her to Prison.
