naijaking1: Please lawyers in the house help; what in the world did the judge mean by saying that the plaintiff has no locus, even a Nigerian citizenhuh?
To have a locus standi, one must proved that the action that he is opposing directly affects him or caused or will cause him a direct harm or deprives him or her of his right, duties, etc....

If CBN grants a bank a license in violation of the constitution, I do not think ordinary citizens have locus standi to sue to address the violation.

However, a Senator or federal legislator or minister of finance who have the duty to approve such transitions have the locus standi to sue because they can argue that, their constitutional duties, roles and responsibilities were undermined, abused when CBN granted the license without due consultation and their approval...but do not hold your breath for these people to sue.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: What Are The Consequences Of Working With Fake Certificates? by linearity: 7:02pm On Jun 11, 2012
The deed is already done! It really does not make any difference if he reported himself or quit the job or if the company finds out later. He is a certificate forger and obtained employment under false pretense. It will be fool-header to report himself to the company now.

My advice is, he should continue his studies and ensure that the study is in line with his forged university degree. Let him pray so that he is lucky....let him shut his mouth. Telling even close friends is a big big big mistake. Let him also pray that the company does not hire another employee who actually graduated from that same university and read that course/year or who would be familiar with some1 that graduated that year.

Once he obtain his degree from the private studies, the best course is to look for another job with the new degree and quit his current job.

Apart from some oil companies and other large companies, majority of companies in Nigeria do not check with your school or NYSC...most of them request for the NYSC certificate just to comply with federal government laws.
FamilyRe: Which Do I Choose; Marriage Or Job? by linearity: 7:32pm On Jun 06, 2012
Ordinarily, you cannot equate your marriage to a job. Marriage should be more important than a job.....but for you to have thought about canceling the wedding in the first place, my advice is tha you should not keep your job and cancel the wedding.

Your post talks about how hard it took you to get the job and how important the job is. We did not hear about how hard it took you to find this guy or what the relationship is like. Most ladies approach marriage with loaded expectations, joys, cheerfulness...but if you quit your job for this wedding, it appear you might not enjoy it to its fullness.

It also appear that, the guy proposed to you while you were still jobless...had you guys married then, relocation would not have been an issue..but along the way you found a job and you started giving the marriage a second thought. I am doubly certain that, had the guy proposed to you today, you would have said No....these are the reasons you have to follow your heart.

Some say good men are scare, but it is always better to follow your heart..

Out of curiosity....If I pour a gallon of petrol in my room and lit it with lighter...

1. Will it burn than the House?....ans: Yes.
2. Did God permitted or wanted my House to burn down for his good or my good?...ans: No.
3. Did my House burn down to give God Glory?...ans: No
4. Did my House burn down as a result of my stupidity?...Yes
5. If am not aware of the dangers of mixing petrol and open flames, did my house burn down because of my ignorance?...ans: Yes.

We Christians believe that, God created heaven and earth, establishes rules and laws that governors heaven and earth, e.g. gravitational forces, winds, storms, etc...You cannot jump from a 20 storey building and expect God to perform a miracle and suspend His gravitational law...it does not happen that way...Then he created us, gave us wisdom, knowledge and intellect and he ask us to go create some other things like Planes, Ships, build skyscrapers...just like the things that God created, everything we created have rules and laws...

This plane is rigged with problems, problems before it was bought, problems months before the crash, problems weeks before it crashed, problems days before it crashed...the plane was not supposed to fly that very day..but management forced it to fly...These are miracles and signs telling those in charge to chant a different course.

More than anything, if going by an earthly father's feelings...I see God disappointed in us for not using the intelligence he gave us to avert this problem and save lives. Yes, one person's mistake can lead to multiple other innocent people death...just think of David in the Bible mistakes and the death it caused others..

One of the major differences between Guys and Girls who are willing and ready to get married now is time....Ladies, can wait a lot longer than men because of many reasons...but when Guys have made up their minds that, they want to get married and all is set...it is like a project for them.

Making the guy to wait for two years without giving him a clue or an inclination if you are going to rule in his favor at the end of the day does not give him any hope to spend the next moment "wasting" his time with you. You made him understand that, all you guys have is a friendship but he wanted more than that....

The truth is, the guy would have moved on even if Omololu was not around. He would have proposed to another lady and get married to her.

From your perspective, it appears that you are a christian or have some christian inclinations. You should be happy that, the Lord used you to bring a good suitor to your bet friend, so you happened to keep this happy thing within the circle of your friend instead of the guy moving on with someone else.

Samson A N: That was why he said Chelsea ned prayer more than their Bayern Munich. He even urged Chelsea fans in the church to pray. I am sure they kept doing even after the day's prophesy. I know of those that fasted and prayed for Chelsea in in Kaduna where I live. I am sure the God that answereth by fire, heard them.
What you just said is nonesense...what about Bayern fans? What made you think they did not pray or did God love Chelsea fans more?

God is not interested if Chelsea or Bayern wins the champions league...Check through the Bible and tell me about a single prophecy that parallel this. His so call prophecies..which I would rather call bets are usually pivoted on something such that, whatever the out come; it would be attributed to him. If Chelsea lost, it would have been attributed to Chelsea's fans lack of Prayers or God wanting it to happen that way.

I remember the world cup qualifier Nigeria lost, he prophecies that the march will be tough against Nigeria...Many Nigerians prayed and fasted..some of the Eagle fans and players wanted to even go and see him for some 'special' prayers...upon all that prayers and efforts...Nigeria lost. Why didn't God answer those prayers? What about the prophecy about Boko been wiped out by March? The prophecy of the Africa leader passing...people prayed...we even came to know that, that President was an acquaintance to the TB..upon those friendships and prayers, the guy still died..

This is not how God works...

Common reasoning...
People gets into marriage for various reasons...There are a lot of people that does not want to get pregnant or have children in their marriage. I am indifferent about gay marriage...I use to oppose it, until I heard the life struggle of a lot of people in that situation. From afar off, you may think they choose that lifestyle or that by the flip of the finger, they can 'change'. It is inbred in them and one with their personality and who they truly are.

I am not in any possible to judge anyone, neither would I oppose what they choose to do with their life, it is a free country.

http://www.nigerianeye.com/2012/05/nigerian-satellites-to-monitor.html?m=1

Federal Government will soon deploy satellites to trace movement of suspected terrorists and their locations in the country. The Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr Seidu O. Mohammed said yesterday said there will be training sessions for the security agencies in the next few weeks.
“We will also use communications satellites and global positioning systems to monitor every neighbourhood. We believe that is possible here and we are making effort to do that,” he said. “The training is for military and para-military, wewill bring them here and train them on how to use our data, because every satellite launch has its own parameters and you need to understandthem, before you operate them.” Nigeria Sat 2 and Sat X are high resolution satellites with the ability to give very close images.
Talk is cheap; this is the glorification of SAT 2 & X Satellites and the GPS system. Even as powerful as the America's Satellites and GPS system; they did not get OBL until after 10 years and that is after investing blood and treasures in the hurt to take out that guy. And at the end, the old spy system that heavily involves human intelligence was want lead them to OBL.

GEJ should first fish out the BK sympathizers and agents in his government that he complained about months prior and deal with them; then put more boots on the ground in the BK infested areas and eradicate them.

I am surprise that, this question should even come up.....both of you are working and collecting salary...if the guy uses his money to pay rent and foot all wedding expense..what are you going to use your money for?

Women baff's me a times...they want equality and full representation but do not want any responsibility. My advise is, if you do not think it is equitable to share expenses with your future husband, you better cancelled the marriage altogether...because from your story, the guy is not a millionaire, he appear to be a regular guy that would use the help of his wife here and there in the future (which is normal and expected)...and he has shown you how things are going to be in the future by asking you to contribute and he is wise to refuse your advise for him to go into debts.

Am more surprise that, you would advise him to go into debt than to contribute to both of your happiness. Something is not right with that...Is this a marriage of convenience? Do you really love this guy? Are you sure you really want to marry him? Do you plan to live the rest of your life with him?

HNosegbe: One thing the columnists seem to forget is that the US can and will, as always, call upon the support of their main allies (the EU and Japan). Together, they make up 54% of the total voting power, which makes any US-nominated candidate the odds-on favourite.

Until there is a fundamental shift in the voting power of the Bretton Woods institutions, I don't see the US losing the headship of the World Bank, nor Western Europe the IMF.
Your post is spot-on except for the last part...where I think you were dreaming and drifted from reality.

The Countries you mentioned that have 54% voting block contributes more than 70% of the funds that goes into the World Bank and the Countries with the 1% voting block are actually made up major debtors (Countries using the funds contributed by the former). And you somehow hope that, the voting system might change in the future to favor the debtors?

Any person here will agree that, if they contribute the lion share to a project; they also want at least their representation on the board directing that project to be at par with each stakeholder's contribution. Here the Americans/EU/Japan did Nigeria and lot of Africa Countries some favor by even giving them a voting block....If the voting is made according to each country's 'credit minus debts' on the world bank balance sheet...Nigeria will have a negative voting block and Nigeria's vote will be read as a vote for the other side.
FamilyRe: Who Pays For The Mortgage? Me Alone, Or Should Wife Help? by linearity: 4:00pm On Mar 31, 2012
It should be joint...in some States in the US things like houses are jointly owned regardless of who makes the payment...If she does not want to contribute any dime to the family....and you pick you the taps....she still can lay claim to the House down the road and also get some settlements from you should you decide to sell.

This is unlike in Nigeria, where in majority of the cases; the person that pays for the house owns it.

Both of you should sit down and discuss this over...it might not necessary be her contributing half for the mortgage...depending on the ratio of both of your salaries...she can be asked to take care of all domestic things like food/grocery, utilities, gas for vehicle(s), daycare, etc...while you take care of things like mortgage and car notes.....This is the formula I am using with my wife..even at that...she was still have a better balance than myself....so in addition we agree to setup an regular automatic withdraw for certain amount from her salary account into our bill paying account...this brought some sanity to the ratio of take home salary...and each person have enough for other personal needs of theirs..

And like some people have said...this has nothing to do with culture, geography, Nigeria or anything...this is the kind of individual she is or she does not really want to settle down with you or does not want to settle down yet...because she might still have some sugar daddy footing the bill for housing, food, utilities, etc for her....The reason I say this is...if she still want to be single as you stated...she would have to pay bills for utilities, food, housing etc..so I do not see the problem for her to continue to do that during marriage in contribution to someelse share, except that some sugar daddy is footing those bills for now and she will lost access to those funds when she gets married plus be asked to start contributing towards them.

Most women out there even in Nigeria, will love to contribute to their home when they get married.

I think you are confusing 'most important' with 'most effective' or 'most influential' or other pedigrees given to successful leaders....

Any Nigerian President should make the world most important list just by the mere fact that, we supply the world with their oil need.

I think he was even cheated, he should have been around number 8 or number 10 most important person on earth seeing that, Nigeria is the 8th largest oil producing countries in the world.....that is what they see us as important in.
