MufasaLion:I don't pray for you to have any encounter before you dislodge your unbelief. Years ago, I was once like you...that was until 1994. I've narrated my experience here on Nairaland but I doubt if many can recall it. You see, we humans aren't the only life forms( at least, physically) in this plane of existence...or expanding into the universe. There's a lot uncovered by the human mind and only the unfortunate few are chanced a revelation and, to what purposes I can't fully explain. This happened at the College of education, Akampka in 1994 where I was an IJMB student then, preparing for my jamb exams for a hopeful admission into Unical. Now, ranging like 3 miles from the back of our male hostel was this river. It was a gently rolling river which meandered through narrow enclaves with fresh ferns and rock outcrops for one to bath or wash few clothes. We students went there for our baths, especially when the hostel taps seized running. On looking back, I can recall that, the students who were natives of that region shunned going to this river. Now, on this morning. Very early in the morning, the tap was out and we have this morning class coming up. My friend Jude and I hurried off to the river to have our bath. And as I can recall. As we walked down it's steep slope, down by the banks as we could see; a spectral form in the shape of an old woman with a lone stick tied to her head which she held with her hand stood out. She kept coming uphill as we descended. We made nothing of it. As we came closer to her, we noticed that from her trodden path, there came no sound. She seemed to float above the ground. We didn't quite take stock of this abnormality till we passed her. What we found strange was, as we passed her and proferred a greeting, she ignored us and moved on. Now, within a step or two as we've passed and remarked to ourselves upon the woman's cold attitude; we turned to look around and fully call her into view. Could you believe it that the woman whom just took two steps was now more than two miles up the hill. And then, she stopped upon our gaze. Her spectral form had an uncanny cast to it. It seemed like all that morning fog and darkness tended to form a halo above her head and as she made to.look in our direction, we ran off into the bushes...we kept running and running until we got to the doors of our hostel...and made it to our individual rooms where we kept screaming and mumbling incoherently. The whole students in the hostels gathered to hear our story and some of the natives had this knowing looks like they knew what we saw. They wouldn't say much. On that night we became sick and you know what, though we didn't share the same room or bed, more stranger was, we slept and dreamt...and had the same dream. As we.woke the next day and recounted our dreams...it was like... |
I envy the guy sha. At least, he's enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame in his life. |
You dey follow Afonja man make mouth? Don't mind him. When fight set now, you won't see him. |
chivie44:What stops you from going to the Police Station and reporting your matter? |
This is why the white man said: The black man can never govern himself. He knows nothing but to consume and destroy. Those were the parting words of the last British as they handed over power to our 1st republic. Where are we today? Worse than they left us. Sad thing is, in the 60s and 70s, Nigeria was at par, economically in terms of oil production and its attendant clout, we were equals with Saudi Arabia. Today, if Saudi coughs, America will start shaking. Look at all the countries in the world run by black man, they're all in disarray. And, when a white man tells you there's something fundamentally wrong with the black man...una go begin shout Racism. Abeggi. |
As a wise man, before any condemnation stone is cast on Obi, I should ask myself: what has the man that built Lagos said on issues like these? Had he proferred any cerebral view, better than any Obi has ventured anywhere? If I see that, then I will make my decision. |
People wey sabi wetin dem dey do Nigerians are watching this development o, but most of them will blinded by tribalism at this time. Na 42yr old man dem MPs, more than 102 of them, most in their late 60s and 70s back this young guy to lead them. Can it happen in Nigeria? The answer is NO. Our MPs will rather start looking for a fellow elder man like Tinubu, a man from their tribal region or office to support. And later, you will try to compare Nigeria with other western nations who aren't repeating the mistakes of yester years. Can you see it? |
That's one thing eith the white gene. If they've a passion for something, the learn and copy it well. |
Go and check your hormone levels. Also, cholesterol levels. When you get the results, come back and let me know. |
This is the Lagos that somebody built. Make I no mention name. Na only agberoes he build o. |
Look at Dino. Always looking like he wants to fight somebody because he thinks he carry body. I can beat someone like Dino with one good punch to his liver, any day. |
Lai Mohammed was so right. Social media should be regulated in Nigeria. |
By Befaction by Andy Shurman. Song is so deep, poetic and prophetic. |
From the first time I saw her, I knew she wouldn't last. You can see through her that's she's of weak personality. UK people can easily notice anyone like that and they don't like being led by the weak. |
It might be real. Like I'd say, love conquers all. The woman might be the one to give him more support and love than any other he would find. Though, it's difficult to take but, I believe sometimes one's destiny unfolds in ways often unpleasant. I can blame the lady for not being truthful from the start. Most men need nothing but the truth to follow suit in relationships and to stand by their woman, no matter what. |
kk2027:No mind the Agbado man. He wan form Professor Soyinka wey dey twist English upandan. |
Where's the man that built Lagos? Let's ask him if he forgot the drainage systems in Bourdillon. |
That's why Nigeria is where it is as a nation. Down the abyss and beyond redemption. It's because the system keeps placing square pegs in round holes. From the first time this Abike woman was pushed into the external affairs ministry, I asked, did she undergo any training to qualify for such sensitive position? Ambassadorial positions demand some elements of cerebral nurture. You don't get into it because you're open eye person or you can speak or whatnot. You need to be full of its requisite content. We have lots of men and women in the ministry who've been there for donkey years, and of the right carriage and brain...but you know what? They are overlooked and those tribal powers lumped Abike on them. Sad. |
This silly woman that rides on old people's back to offices. From PA Enahoro to PA Adesanya and Tinubu. That's been her way from the 90s. A very empty woman upstairs. |
OldNairalander:Don't blame the West anything. Blame your selfish leaders for their selfishness and stupidity. During this Festac jamboree, Gowon foolishly told foreign leaders present that, " Nigeria had too much money and didn't know what to do with its excess." Imagine such stupid statement from a leader? Or, is it IBB that started listening to IMF and doing funny stuff to the naira? That's what killed our economy till today. |
She looked smarter as a kid than now, grown up. Too much food dulls the mind. |
Abeg where are the Nigerian association of skit makers and our award winning musicians? Food don land. Make Kizz Daniel use this " Rotten to BAD" do his next album. Na the song voters go use run away from this greedy Tinubu during election time. |
You still hold the N20 for hand dey price onion. Abi you don pay or na change dem give you? |
JASONjnr:This is a golden comment. If releasing Kanu would dim Obi's chances by even one vote, it's better he remains under lock and key till 2024. |
What a great talent. So sad I'm just hearing about him and his music for the first time. |
Look at this BATstard. Better go join MC Oluomo and his group at Ojota bus stop in their 2k campaign. |
dawnomike:Get her number. She's a Virgin and a Princess. You've great reasons to " like her already " Anupam. |
Kaysalas:Slave. I expect nothing less from you. Until every village becomes a country, Africa will know no peace. Of cos, I know, you're blinded by tribal sentiments. Ofe Mmanu boy. |
Kaysalas:Go and vote an 80yrs old man to lead you. Lazy Nigerian youth. |
Kaysalas:Na Tinubu go raise your tech head? How many Tech conferences has he attended? Is he even aware of the dangers Lagos as a coastal city is exposed to? In the wake of climate change exigencies? Do you know the forecast according to climate scientists? Everything isn't all politicking. It's 70% know how and being aware. |
Kaysalas:Was it a tech driven world in their times? The world has changed. Check world economies who've adapted to the 21st century tech driven world and strongly performing...They're all led by the young. Chile just had its 35yr old leftist President. Here in Nigeria, that would seem like a taboo. |
It's sad if indeed it's true this man molested her. It's never a good thing to molest women. Never But I'm more alarmed to notice that this lady grew more agitated when she observed a chunk of of her fake hair on the ground. " Nigerians, look at my hair o." She didn't cry like that when she spoke of the wound on her leg. |
