buhak: FASHOLA is not trying at all if you want to confirmed it go and check egigbo and ikotun road all the road in ikotun area are dead trapThis is the reason everyone who claim to have gone to the university and are able to read and write can not get the (or a) scholarchip. It is only those that deserve and merit it that eventually got it. Little wonder you are talking about road when the post is about scholarship. You are a disaster waiting to happen |
izuoff..:Fashola actually walks incase you are not aware. The guy got nothing to fear so he walks among the populace. Somebody saw him walking along anthony when there was holdup the other day |
TimAllen: Leadership by example. This one just want to talk |
HNosegbe: Last time I checked, Fashola's "convoy" didn't exceed three vehicles. Direct your angst at the man with the bowler hat. That's true. concur: One LASTMA PickUp Van in Front, His Own, Followed by an Ambulance |
Chanchit: This Fashola is nothing but bad news. With this his actions, he will just make ACN loose some states in SW. Cos I'm not even sure I can vote for ACN again.Na you MUMU pass for this world. Craze person |

In as much as we castigate the students, the lecturer shouldn't be left out. Some of our schools lack quality. |
mrkels: Sahara reporters again? Well just enjoy this traffic for now, after now no one would bother reading anything from your site again. Nonsense!when sahara reporter reported that she was coming back from germany, all of you here were praising sahara reporter. it is the other way round now, na another story |
mutiply: @opTrue talk. Very Observant. Double Standard Indeed. |
Actually, I thought the president was going to talk about the Bakassi thing. Now, if actually he failed to talk about Bakassi in that broadcast, then I think he didn't get it right. Perhaps, the speech was changed at the last minute. I can't imagine that's what he actually wanted to discuss with his citizens at that time of the day when the issues of Mubi, Aluu and Bakassi are on the table. I'm not saying the flood thing is not important too though but doesn't deserve all that hype. Anyway, na him sabi |
berem: those fuccking elders should be the first to be beheaded! They shouldn't be spared! They shouldnt be let to walk free! Bunch of MUD MUNCHERS!!May be the elders are Muslims too. Mtchewwwww. If this had happened in the North, some idiots would have been crying religious war. Instead of us to face the rot in our society, we will be looking for flimsy excuise. Nonesense |
faluasafe: All that you people do here on nairaland is to be stoking the flame/ember of hatred, falsehood, concoction all based on misinformation, dem-talk-say.Na only you make sense to me. I just dey read I no even know what to say. It shows how stupid we could be sometimes in this country. Instead of suggesting solutions, they are here abusing one another. |
kpozite: Climate change is real, but the unfortunate thing is that no one can stop it. The Climate changes from time to time it was climate change millions of years ago that whipped away and ended the age of the dinosaurs and series of climate changes has occured since then without interference by anyone, it was the stable climate for a couple of thousand years that enabled the evolution of man and other species as it is today so this now may be the coming of the end of the days of man because if the climate changes so much and it becomes unbearable for man, we will all die off and give way for other species that will adapt better to the new environment so enjoy the time you have now or repent if you believe in God.At the boldened. If this your assertion is to be taken on the face value and in an academic discussion, it may mean that there is no heaven afterall. It may mean that some specie will just give way to some specie as a result of some occurances and life goes on in a cylce like that. Then, may be some million years to come, man will emerge again. Just saying o. Just an academic exercise, you know |
gulfer: God bless you Mr. Adekanbi (R.I.P), Mrs Amadi, Mrs Olusodo, Iya' ntisha etc. My life pattern today was shaped by the teaching from you great people most especially the humility and hardwork. He was the one that use to ancor Bournvita Brain Match. He died sometimes in the late 90s. He was once in my school to give us a lecture when we were about passing out. He was truely a wonderful person with his smile. |
gajike: I REGRET SENDING MY WELL TRAINED DAUGHTER TO THAT SCHOOL. YOU NEED DIVINE INTERVENTION FOR A STUDENT TO PASS THROUGH THAT SCHOOL WITHOUT BLEMISH. LEAD CITY UNIVERSITY IS NOT A SCHOOL BUT AN INSTITUTIONIf this is real, then education don collapse for this country, I swell. Because only God knowa what is going on in other universities. Hunn, na wa o! |
mawojuuche: Mumu children, bribing wit jst N20,000....No mind them. If they had bribed the police with 2million, this matter for no turn like this. Greedy pikins |
It is a good thing that we are all celebrating (or berating) our teachers (as the case may be). We all have passed through one form of schooling or the other. But do you realise the school you left some years back are facing some challenges? That is 'School Safety'. We are all aware of the laudable objectives of education, with corresponding efforts being made to achieve them. It is however very important to note that it is not just adequate to expend a great deal of resources in creating schools that provide quality education for young people while not paying particular attention to the fundamental need for a school to be a safe place for teachers and students. In addition, it is not just enough to massively invest in the physical infrastructures and the latest technological advances that increases the effectiveness in teaching and learning while ignoring the basic need for a school to be a welcoming place for staff and studens, and even visitors. When put side by side with the fact that a school has the legal responsibility to ensure the safety of students under the common law doctrine of in loco parentis, it can therefore be concluded that school safety requires a critical and urgent attention from everyone. The question we ask therefore is; can there be a guaranteed feeling of safety in every schools, by everyone and at every time? To simply put it, no school leadership can guarantee that every members of staff, students, and even visitors to a school will be safe at all times, and will face no danger. This therefore proves that there is no task that is as important as creating a school that is a considerably safe and friendly if we are to achieve the primary objective of the school as a place of learning and the objective of education towards national development. Ileke-IdI:Obama Care is the unofficail name for The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act which was signed into law on March 23, 2010. In a more general sense Obama Care and The Health Care for America Plan or any such name is a refernce to the ongoing health care reform under President Obama ObamaCare / The Health Care For America Plan: There are really only three things you need to know about President Barak Obama's Obama Care / Health Care For America Plan. • Obama Care gaurentees that Health Care is available to any legal U.S. resident who cannot otherwise obtain "good" healthcare through their employer. • Gives American Employers the choice between providing comparable insurance and paying a modest contribution to the ObamaCare Health Care system to aid in the Health Coverage of all Americans. • Requires that all Americans have health insurance either through a private provider or by the Health Care for America Plan. |

Ileke-IdI:Abi now! No be so them do the last time. GEJ failed to show up at the debate organised by private tv but was debating against his self in the one organised by NTA. They must come out and discuss issues as it affects us |
Kewt: Obama's mouth ran same way 4 years ago. Now he knows better. At the boldened, that's the point. |
I hope we will have such a debate come 2015, when issues affecting the citizens will be discussed. Not the one that NTA will organise one for the sitting president in his bedroom |
ekt_bear: Romney is doing a good job in this debate.Yea, he is. Seems Obama was not prepared. I wouldn't be surprised if the ratings changes against him |
nanidee: By the way, how come women are always coming to meet Romney with their tax problems? He is using so many make-believe scenarios. You seem to be obssessed with Obama. You just like am no matter what. Well, me self like Fashola, no matter what. (Except fraud) |
Biggoozz: But remember that Romney is a serving governor, If he preach what he doesn't practice, we will catch him....as in, what you did not do as a governor, you cannot boast to do as a president you know.Yea, you are right. But you know this people have a way of singing a different tunes. All the allegations that Romney put to Obama about his election campaigns, Obama has been avoiding them brilliantly. So, they will always have a way to change their promise, "haa, things can't work again the way we had envisaged" |
Romney may seem to be having upper hand because it doesn't work the way he sees because he's not in the oval office yet. It is the person on the hot sit that knows how hot it is. |
nanidee: Romney is even doing better than I thought he would.Yea, he is. |
01:36: The debate is officially one-third over. In the first segment, neither candidate has made any major gaffes or outstanding zings or wins against their opponent. 01:27: Romney brings up China, says he'll send programs to the state level and make cutbacks. He sites Obama's spending during the past four years. Obama sites the bloated deficit as something he inherited due to two wars paid for on credit and other spending from the past administration. Lehrer asks Romeny about the Simpson-Bowls plan. Romeny says he has his own plan. Romeny goes back to the idea that raising taxes kills businesses, and that many Americans are employed by the nation's largest businesses. 01:26: Leherer launches into the second segment in the six-segment debate. He asks each candidate how he will tackle the deficit. 01:21: The remaing 3 percent of businesses are where a large number of Americans are employed, Romeny counters, while giving another personal example of an American he has met in his experience in politics. Obama starts crucnhing the numbers, stating that Romeny is attempting an impossible feat. Romney repeats that he's not in favor of a $5 trillion tax cut. "That's not my plan,' he says, stating that his plan is not like anything that has been tried before. 01:19: Obama says 97 percent of businesses would not see their taxes go up under his plan. Obama says Romney's definition of small business includes large businesses. The tax issue has become the first real sparring match of the debate. 01:15: Obama says Romeny would burden the middle class with top-down economics while middle class families are burdened further. Romeny says everything that Obama has just said about his tax plan is inaccurate. He says he won't put in a tax cut that adds to the deficit. He also says he won't reduce the share payed by high-income individuals. "I will not reduce the taxes paid by high-income Americans" Romney reiterates a second time. 01:08: Lehrer asks Obama to address Romney on trickle-down economics. Obama says he agrees with Romeny on energy, but believes in energy sources of the future such as wind. Obama says Romeny's call for a $5 trillion tax cut among other expenses will not solve the economy's woes. 01:06: Romeny then greets the audience and congratulates Obama on his anniversary. Romey shares personal stories of Americans he's met on the campaign trail who he says need a new economic path. Then outlines a five-step path to a better economy that includes energy independence and a balanced budget. 01:04 GMT: FIRST QUESTION is on how each candidate plans to creat new jobs. Obama makes the first response and begins by wishing his wife a happy anniversary. Then begins on an overview of the state of the economy. 01:01 GMT: Lehrer asks for a silence audience -- don't expect any boos or cheers. Obama and Romey walk on stage, shake hands, greet the audience with a wave and take to their podiums. 01:01: Lehrer welcomes the audience to the first of the 2012 presidential debates. 00:58 GMT: Going into tonight's debate, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll has given Obama a lead among likely voters of 49-46 percent, consistent with a RealClearPolitics poll average showing Obama up by 3.5 percentage points. A National Public Radio poll today showed Obama leading 51-44 among likely voters nationwide and 50-44 in battleground states, while a Washington Post-ABC News poll gave Obama a larger 52-41 lead in swing states. 00:54: PROXY WARS: Each of the candidates has been prepping for tonight with a proxy debate partner tasked with impersonating the mannerisms and ideology of their opponent. Republican Senator Rob Portman of Ohio stood in for Obama during mock debates with Romney over the past month. Having played Obama, John Edwards, John Kerry, Joe Lieberman and Al Gore in previous mock debates, Portman is something of an expert Democrat. Democrat Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, who is a seasoned veteran of presidential debates having run for office in 2004, has been playing Romney for the Obama camp. 00:52: Ann Romeny is wearing a prim white skirt suit with pearls while Michelle Obama is wearing a purple jacket with a multi-colored blouse underneath. 00:49: Michelle Obama and Ann Romney greet each other in the audience with a polite embrace and kiss. 00:48 GMT: What does a presidential candidate do in the minutes leading up to his first ever presidential debate? Per photos from the wire stills, who were allowed into Romney's hold room, Romney and his sons were engaged in a pre-debate game of Jenga. 00:45 GMT: Apart from the debate, today is a landmark day for Obama as it's his 20th wedding anniversary to his wife Michelle. "I told Barack, 'This, you know, attending a presidential debate on my 20th anniversary is probably the worst way for me to spend (it).' ... I get so nervous at these debates," she told CNN. 00:40 GMT: THE GUESSING GAME: Twenty minutes out from the debate, each candidate's performance remains a giant unknown. In a Gallup Poll released this morning, however, 57 percent of Americans said they think Obama will do a better job than Mitt Romney, while 33 percent believed the reverse ? that Romney will do better than Obama. 00:34 GMT: Both Obama and Romney have arrived at Ritchie Center, the venue for tonight's debate and home to the University of Denver's hockey team. |
