Dear Applicant, Your regular B appointment at the US Embassy Abuja has been cancelled. The Embassy and Consulate General continue to prioritize travelers with urgent travel needs, although regular visa appointments are made available as the local conditions allow. In response to ongoing pandemic-related service disruptions, the Department of State announced the extension of Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee validity until September 30, 2022 for individuals who paid an MRV fee, but were unable to schedule and/or attend an interview during the suspension of services. If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please follow the guidance provided at https://ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-expeditedappointment.asp to request an emergency appointment. Oh, i see. I might have got it wrong. I thought I saw a list on their website. OP should re-apply and show more proof of relationship and why the visit is deemed non-discretionary. Good luck. maziude: They qualify.
We got same exemption for my mom and a few others here also did.
The op should re-apply and include those required documents. |

You have already stated it here. Yours and your friends' are different cases under different circumstances. Iamblessed007: Thanks. My mum is coming to help out as she is about to give birth and many people add all that to support their application. She is not getting paid for helping her son, so it is not a work visa. At least my female friend also submitted it when she applied for visit visa for her mum. Infact, she added the ultrasound scan too. Only difference is that she didn't send any email to prioritize her application because she applied for her mum before covid.
thanks all the same. |

I do not think your mother qualifies as a member of immediate family relation as per their definition (spouse and dependent children), also pregnancy does not fall into the category of non-discretionary cases as per their definition. Iamblessed007: Hello house,
Please i need your help, I applied for a visiting visa for my mum and sent that email for the application priority, and also attached the proof of relationship which are my international passport, my mum birth certificate, her change of name docs, invitation letter and the doctor's letter for my pregnant wife.
I received this email from IRCC "Based on our assessment of your recent enquiry, we cannot process your request as you have not provided sufficient evidence that you meet an exemption criterion and/or that your travel to Canada is non-discretionary, per the travel restrictions implemented to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID‑19) in Canada. Even though you do not meet an exemption criterion and/or your travel has not been deemed non-discretionary, your application will now be put on hold until after the travel restriction pause has been lifted"
Please could it be because i didn't attach my PR card and my birth certificate. If yes, can any one suggest the docs they used for their proof of relationship. Thanks |

Please who is familiar with the Submit bank statement features of GT Bank. I want to make an application and I have account statements of over 160 pages and think that feature might be best suited. Can you just use the feature on your own or the embassy has to request it, because I know there is a ticket number and password that is required to be able to access the account. Please let me know. Thanks |

I guess this type of question has been routinely tackled. No one can predict the outcome of visas for any of the scenario. The chances for the parents seem pretty high. To get an appointment for emergency, you can read back the thread, someone posted her experience. I think she sent an e-mail or so. Good luck. OjaP: Hello All,
I am actually posting this on behalf of my friend who is in a dilemma and needs advice. He is a U.S citizen in the process of completing her PhD in December. He intends to invite his parents and siblings to his graduation. Here are the stats for the parents and siblings:
Parents: Regular traveler to the USA. Just need to renew their visas.
Sibling 1 & 2 - Male, Single, have traveled to the USA once and was denied visa the second time when they wanted to come visit again - 2 years ago. Sibling 1 is a medical doctor, sibling 2 is currently undergoing NYSC
Sibling 3 - Female, married with kids, working class and works with the Federal Government of Nigeria, 12 years work experience. Has never traveled to the USA or applied applied for a USA visa. She was denied a UK visa 7 years ago, was pissed and has never applied to any embassy since then.
Questions:
1. How possible is it to get an expedited appointment for them for December to attend a PhD graduation?
2. How possible is it for sibling 1 & 2 to get visas this time around?
3. What are the chances of sibling 3 getting visa with no travel experience?
Thanks, OjaP. |

I Applied June 4th, did biometrics June 7th. Passport picked up June 14th - 4 working days processing time. 10 years visa approved. Although visa is dated from August 2021 as I still have a subsisting visa in my old passport. I had rushed to apply when I heard processing times were taking too long. |

Tomorrow you will be complaining that the rich only marry the rich. You see yourself. You are poor, come marry from poor home. Why wont you complain! Ninobraw: No need for a long story, I got married 2 yrs ago, during our friendship I mean courtship it was very sweet and lovely, we got married 2 yrs ago and I have 1 kid.
The problem I have is that, the girl's family come to greet almost every time and when they come they eat like elephant, anything eatable they eat it, they don't use eyes to see bread tea or butter in my room, they will finish it within a day, I will end up spending a lot during the time, when I noticed that it becomes offen i started telling my wife that I am broke, I don't have money. Although my wife is very nice she earns salary of 40k a month, and do funds and cook many times with her money.
Before now I was it okay, we are like a family, now i just realized that it is making me not think straight within a week oil and cooking things we bought will just finished the cartoon of indomitable that last the 2 of us before 1 month or month plus will just finish within 4 days of thier stay, some time 3 of her family will come once and another set will come again, my wife is the first daughter, the poor parents gave birth to 9 kids all in the name of looking for a boy, so she said although the 2 boys are number 7 and 9 position, her parents should be around man 60s and the woman 45yrs old. so now I am tired of the marriage, I don't know how to talk to my wife about it, that I don't like how thier family do come offend since we got married, my families has never come to sleep over in my place for a night talkless of spending holiday in my place my parents gave birth to only 3 of us 2 boys 1 girl.
Now i am just tired I can't be responsible for someone else burden why give birth to many kids and unable to train them, i plan to have only 2 or 3 kids only, and her family want to make me be like thier father sitting at home doing nothing depending on pension for survival, i have realized that I can't achieve what i should have achieved if i continue life this way.
Before our marriage, we agreed no family members is coming to stay with us, the issue now is they don't stay but come to eat and go, it's a big cheating to me I am tired for real, even if I say I don't have money and she use her own. The money should have be able to do other important thing . She spending is also affecting me a lot, we should have been able to buy land or car or live well, not feeding battalion. I am tired please I need advice on what to do. |

Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by megastu(m): 8:17pm On Jun 01, 2021 |
It might.
My first U.K visa for studies was denied. I had stated I didn't have any relation in the U.K because I was advised (I was pretty young then) that if I wrote I have a relation they will say I won't come back, whereas that would have even facilitated the visa. I eventually went to school in the Netherlands and I then applied for a visit visa to spend Christmas with my aunty. Of course, I was denied.
I had to appeal in court and my aunty told the Judge she didn't know why on earth I stated I didn't have a relation in the U.K when she is my mum's elder sister (the same father and same mother). Since then I have been having U.K visas.
You can apply and come upfront with the information, knowing that you already provided that at the POE.

|

You can shrink. Try smallpdf.com iyaaliyah: Good morning ohh Pls how does one upload more documents? For instance, to show proof of financial support and there are like 3 different bank statement, employment letter etc and are all more than 4MB. How else can I upload? Even if I shrink, it wnt fit the 4MB. A single bank statement is about 54pages. What can I do pls?
Then, the column for spouse or dependants traveling together, there is no place to upload the proof of means financial support etc too. |

Ask the agent why he/she is not in Canada. Sarpyro1: Goodday people,
I came across one travel agency recently and they promised to give me 2-5yrs Canada tourist visa, which allows me to work. Documentation fee 700k and visa processing 72k.
Please i would like to know how feasible this is.

Family › Re: How Do I Instill Boldness And Confidence In My Daughters? by megastu(m): 10:34pm On Apr 30, 2021 |
Absolutely kumulus: Very good observation sir, please make sure to engage them in activities that would inspire them to be assertive and believe they're in charge/control (to a reasonable extent). Read stories to them and ask questions during and afterwards, play sports and use their toys with them, teach them songs and poems, paint and draw with them, when you're doing certain chores around the house also engage them...even when you're lifting stuffs they can't ordinarily lift ask them to help you and make them believe you really needed their help to do it. Have discussions with them, when there's an important decision to be made ask their opinion (their response might seem/be foolish, it doesn't matter).
The truth is, to all humans they are 'just kids' but by means of their individuality...they aren't. The mind of a child is like an empty drive or a fresh program, the world around them (whatever they are exposed to) writes the code. Your duty as a parent isn't to lord over them but to guide and guard them.
Parenting is a choice I've realized most folks didn't make, life somehow forced it on them. The task of child raising isn't for the weak but in this part of the world most believe it's all about feeding, clothing, sheltering and sending this 'gift of God and the gods' to schools. The nation is effectively what it is today because of failed parenting to a great extent,. I beg you to be the dad that did the most....give them all the loving.
I wish for you great success man, love and light.

At 3? Haba. One, you need to go and read about kids. You still have a lot of learning to do. However for a start, begin to take the kids out a lot, to swimming, eateries, playground etc. Hemanwel: Good morning dear nairalanders!
I have two daughters: one will be 3 years old later in the year and the other will be 1 next month. I noticed that my first daughter is too timid. She gets easily frightened by her peers. She is quiet. She will allow just anybody to carry her - even those whom she is older and bigger than - without any resistance.
I really don't like these attributes about her. I want her to have the boldness to resist some of these things. I want her to be aggressive. I want her to grow up having confidence in doing things her way. I also wish to instill that in the second child. Thank you! |
