Royalty83:Ogbonnaya Onu against candidate X in PDP. It was before Atiku emerged. Since Atiku, APC postponed primary to allow them rejiggle that initial play with Onu. Stand by.... |
Biafranodogwu55: my brothers in South are too naive. |
Philipponzaghi:Electoral laws in Nigeria mean nothing. It takes brute use of power to bend these laws. You see, when laws are violated there is a consequence to pay. This concept of "cause & effect" validates law and gives integrity. In Nigeria, when you violate law there are no consequences. Hence the law has 0 validation & integrity. The amended law you keep repeating are soon to be violated left & right. The reason it was amended to begin with is because politicians lost trust in the original one. This version will soon be obsolete also and give cause to a new amendment. So you should understand that application of law in Nigeria is very fluid, don't stress the form....but do follow the intrigues. I follow intrigues at play, I dont care about the law because politicians themselves lack trust in it. |
Philipponzaghi:Look, let's not muddle things up. Let help organize thoughts here. 1. Does APC need physical presence to screen candidate? 2. I don't know that Jonathan is a candidate of APC. But I wrote last week that he is a smokescreen for someone else, a mystery candidate whom I predicted would be Ogbonnaya Onu. 3. Just because Jonathan is not at screening does not kill the idea of consensus. Jonathan was a rumored consensus candidate, not the endorsed consensus. So no need to jump ahead of ourselves here. |
Philipponzaghi:How can Obi cross into Labor, without delegates or any grass root structure in that party, and yet become its flag bearer? Stop wondering how things are possibly done in Nigerian politics. Just pay attention to the intrigues, the law and its agreements mean nothing. |
Atiku stands no chance with Tinubu. He knows this. He is working behind the scene to ensure Tinubu does not win primary. |
It seems majority of Southerners are happy with the way Atiku killed rotational presidency. Atiku stole the turn of South. Where is the outrage? |
1. PDP Presidential aspirant Peter Obi attended the public announcement and supported Atiku to declare his Presidential ambition. 2. Just few days to PDP primary, aspirant Peter Obi stepped out of PDP Presidential primary and resigned membership. 3. Aspirant Atiku won PDP Presidential primary and was declared party flag bearer. 4. Peter Obi sent a congratulatory letter to Atiku. 5. Aspirant Obi crossed to Labor party. At its presidential primary another aspirant, Pat Utomi stepped down for Obi to win and become Labor party flag bearer. Atiku has learnt from 2019 not to underestimate APC and its use of incumbent power to sweep opponents away. In particular, APC used cross-party alliance with SDP's Iyiola Omisore to edge Senator Adeleke out of gubernatorial victory in Osun. SDP, Labor and APGA are strong in South. Using strengths in Labor (his new party after PDP) and APGA (his old party before PDP), Obi can steer votes to Atiku and run him across the margins of victory should 2019 repeat itself. Atiku is using one stone to kill two birds - 1. Dilute grass root politics in South so SDP does not become a formidable contender. Infact, SDP introduced Atiku to politics back in 1998. He is using Obi to throw this kill. Hence Obi's actions lately. 2. Influence APC primary to nominate an underdog candidate. APC Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu is from NE, same region with Atiku, and an ex-Chairman of PDP under Goodluck Jonathan, who is being wooed to cross from PDP into APC and enter primary race. Now, Atiku must choose a Christian South for VP. He could end up calling Peter Obi to deputize for him, but he will not do so ahead of APC primary. Net-Net, PDP is going for NE muslim/SE christian. |
What kind of talk is that? Has APC given presidential flag to Tinubu yet? |
Salvador1:Doing muah muah to Atiku a$$ is not building bridge. That's slaving, like Tinubu. |
. A socio-political activist, Reno Omokri has attributed the victory of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar at the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential primary elections to “Northern solidarity”.Reno lacks perspective plenty of times. Wike supported Tambuwal against Atiku in 2019. Tambuwal, supported Atiku against Wike in 2023. This is betrayal, not solidarity. |
Obi is the Ibo version of Tinubu when it comes to kissing Northerner butt. |
Atiku Abubakar wins PDP primary. Ive been reading commentaries from my Southern brothers and it"s appalling to see the resignation and acceptance of defeat by North. This thread is very relevant, the question of why Southerners defer to North and will not take any step in it's own benefit but prefer to wait first for an approval to be issued from North is still very valid to ask. When North says NO, Southerners fold in and abandon whatever position they hold. When North says YES, Southerners acknowledge and still accept the conditions from North for which the YES will apply. Just because Atiku You Southerners why do you believe sharia North is your lord and master in this Nigeria, why not exercise your right to independence, why not reject the Atiku win? |
.Abdul-Ahmed MustaphaThis guy does not qualify for Lagos Governor seat. Im glad he was blocked. He should go to zamfara and contest. |

princeabdul:Is it Fatima, or Harira? What is the woman name sef. Let this woman rest in peace abeg. May her soul rest in peace with her pikin dem...leave dem alone to rest in the Lord. |
The harlot don receive kickback from Atiku now. He vacated for Atiku. |
This Peter Obi is like harlot. Left Apga to Pdp, then to Sdp. Very confused fella. Soon as Jonathan cross to Apc to receive Buhari anointment Peter Obi sef go cross enter Apc. Dey watch wetin I talk now. |
LeoDeKing:Clarify what you mean by "involving other regions". Every region is a victim of Arewa atrocity. So your response is confusing to me. Please outline what the other regions are. |
KingOfAmebo:Do you think you can defeat Igbo in a one-on-one war? If Yoruba abstain, SS abstain, middle belt abstain....you believe Arewa can defeat Igbo? |
LeoDeKing:Fulani enter village in South and burn a whole community while people sleep. Charred bodies of babies in their mothers arms is all left. What was done to the mthfckng herders? Nothing. Abeg park to side. Just say rest in peace and keep stepping, no lament abeg. |
Tinubuadvocate:Ssshut up! . Ive been good to Tinubu, so be good to me. |
It was not immediately clear what happened to the plane, which had damaged wings, as accounts differ about its fate. Some commenters said it crash-landed around 8:33 p.m., while others said it was being towed to a repair workshop near the airport.Hold on!!! It had "damaged" wings, and towed to a "repair shop" ke? Do you mean to write "towed to salvage yard"? |
WesternOligarch:True word. |
I agree with Gov Soludo. Northerners are not targeted. There is insecurity and everyone is game. It is a case of been in wrong place at wrong time. Southerners have been killed, kidnapped, beheaded in the course of insecurity in North West and North East. Can we call it targeted killings? Northerners are just groping for excuse to single out SE for military siege. |
Stormtrooper11:Are you aware that fulani bandits are still kidnapping, raping and killing farmers in Yorubaland? But when was last time you saw it reported by media? Buhari and Pantami threatened to shut down any media house that reported fulani atrocity in Nigeria. If fulani atrocities against Southerners cannot be carried in media, why should atrocities against fulani in South be reported in media? |
May the soul of the departed and her children rest in peace. |
AdolfAboki:Should the Igbos and other Southerners pen a poetry of Northern atrocities since 1945 till date, it will take over 20 pages on this forum. Cry me a river. |
[[s]quote author=AlexReports post=113149715]Members of the incorporated trustee, Legacy Transformation Initiative (LTI) have called for the adoption of the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate ahead of the ruling party's 2023 presidential primary election. The eclectic group consists of intellectuals, professionals, politicians, businessmen/women, and entrepreneurs drawn across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria. Speaking at the briefing in Abuja, Ibe Aniemeke Lawson, national coordinator of LTI, said: “We are essentially a pressure group and a policy formulation and ideation hub, a place where policies and policy prescriptions of governments across sectors are x-rayed and debated altruistically to produce the best positions of government policies- devoid of the frills of politics. “We called this press conference as patriotic citizens to inform Nigerians of our activities as a non-governmental organisation and a passionate appeal to the conscience of our fellow patriots i.e. the APC’s national delegates.” “Dear distinguished delegates, history beckons, and “It is Time” to be part of it by unanimously adopting Professor Yemi Osinbajo (GCON) as your consensus choice before the convention or unanimously vote for him as the presidential candidate of the APC in the party primaries given his proven capacity to lead; especially in this challenging time, we find ourselves as a nation. “It is imperative to state that in the course of our functions, we have been able to interrogate the profile of the various individuals jostling to be APC presidential candidate through this process of intellection over months of rigorous review, in-depth research, and study on the qualities, capacities, capabilities of these aspirants from available public records on them. “While it has been a tedious, rigorous process and challenging task, one factor that has remained central to the empirical and peer review processes we engaged is that all the aspirants we have x-rayed in the APC are eminently qualified to vie for the exalted office of the presidency of our dear country, Nigeria. “However, the vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (GCON), stands out. He emerged as the most suitable, experienced, and capable to be entrusted with the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. “From the outstanding records and the collective experience of Professor Yemi Osinbajo (GCON), who has actively participated at the apex of both the private sector and the public sector; with notable and measurable impacts that bestride these positions and remarkably, devoid of the stigma of corruption that hovers like a halo over public officers. “Definitely, undoubtedly we are convinced if chosen as the candidate of APC that he can defeat any candidate in the general elections. “A vote for him or his adoption will be the highest form of patriotism expected of any citizen of this country. “History will be kind to you and your generation for rising above the usual primordial sentiments that have been a common feature of our electioneering process and which have bedevilled our political/economic landscape to make the right choice.” https://www.abujapress.com/2022/05/group-calls-for-adoption-of-vp-osinbajo.html?m=1[/quote][/s] Brother Alex, please bring us news with substance. If a policy advisory group have to introduce itself to public it is not a true policy ideation base. Policy pressure groups are discreet, they are "discovered" by public, not "introduced" to public. |
