I remain an advocate of dividing Nigeria and bringing self-rule to the indigeneous lands. This appeal from Osigwe is another cycle of push to give approval and legitimacy to Nigeria. Southerners forget their suffering too quick and lack a capacity to imagine worse days ahead for them. I reject Tinubu or any candidate, PDP or APC. Yoruba Nation on my mind! |

Biodun556: Politicians don't reason the way you do. It all depends on what you can over, no permanent enemy in politics So tell me, what would it benefit Tinubu, a kingmaker in APC, to crossover to PDP to do yessir to Atiku? Whoever originated the idea Tinubu will cross to PDP to get retribution at APC will need a brain retrofit. Buhari will turn EFCC loose on both of them....and there is no doubt EFCC will uncover plenty unsavory things in Lagos. |

It is too late to talk about concensus except Buhari and his children want to be the only members of APC.
Tinubu and Atiku are friends, crossing in over to PDP will earn him handsome bargain. In 2015, Tinubu picked Buhari over Atiku. In 2019, Tinubu picked Buhari over Atiku. In 2022, Tinubu in desperation suddenly realized Atiku is his friend. What kind of Mogadishu friendship is this? |

Southern Governors met at this man's state and they reached agreement, all of them, that both parties must zone power rotation to South.
In defiance, his party, PDP left the primary open and Northerner clinched the party flag.
Now this guy has not protested, nor an outcry from him or others about being cheated. Instead, the mumu is flexing about becoming a VP to North.
If North agrees to demands for referendum and an inclusion of secession in the statutory law, many Southerners will oppose it and prefer their slave status under North than to be independent and self-ruling. Okowa is one of such slowpoke saboteurs. |

Biodun556: The next 24 hours is crucial to the survival of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Will the ruling party overcome the challenge of picking a presidential candidate without risking an explosion?
https://thenationonlineng.net/abdullahi-adamus-failed-coup/?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1654547349
Monday, the national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, stirred controversy. He announced Senate President Ahmed Lawan as the choice of President Muhammadu Buhari. This was interpreted by many as the party’s “consensus candidate” as the President has asked the governors of the party and the presidential aspirants to consult and adopt the option.
Adamu told the party’s NWC that he had held consultations with Buhari and that he had the President’s mandate to inform the members. The pronouncement generated uproar within and outside the party, with many wondering if some agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may not have invaded the APC national secretariat to cause last minute confusion, create disaffection among party leaders and weaken the platform ahead of the general election to pave the way for the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as president.
Those who nurse the fear pointed out that certain few defectors to the APC from the PDP may still be maintaining strong links with their former party, thereby constituting themselves into enemies within.
Few minutes after Adamu’s pronouncement , aggrieved APC Northern governors stormed Aso Villa to meet the president.
Alighting from the emergency meeting, they told reporters that ‘on zoning to the South they stood, ‘rejecting Adamu’s unilateral declaration and its divisive and destabilising consequences.
It was evident that the NWC and governors now suspect the party chairman, following the loss of mutual trust and confidence. They are likely to take their pound of fresh, now or in the future. In hush tones, some radical party leaders said they may call for his resignation.
Many are angry that Adamu opted for the confusing information to scuttle the prospects of credible and democratic primary, where delegates will choose the most popular candidate.
The move was infuriating to the Northern governors, who had earlier been applauded by their Southern counterparts. Northern governors want to erase the insinuation that the primary has paled into a deep rift between the North and the South. By insisting on zoning, it means the chairman is now isolated.
To observers, the meaning of consensus is beyond the ken and comprehension of some party leaders.
The provision of the Electoral Act on consensus is clear. The party may suggest it, but it cannot impose a consensus candidate. Consensus, says former National Legal Adviser Babatunde Ogala (SAN), is not about the majority, but it can only be the unanimous decision of all aspirants, without exception. “Therefore, only aspirants can make a final decision on consensus, not the party,” he maintained.
Ogala, who is a member of the Media and Communication sub-committee of Tinubu Campaign Organisation said APC cannot afford to run foul of the law.
A lot of drama is going on in Abuja. Some aspirants are leading in the race, just on the social media. Ogala said the campaign group is not bothered about sponsored media ranking of aspirants, designed to project weak contenders and systematically malign the strong aspirant.
The Director of Media and Communications of the group, Bayo Onanuga, said majority of party members have the confidence that the frontline aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, will win.
Echoing him, Ogala said: “The President has highlighted the qualities of a candidate the APC deserves-national acceptability, ability to win, deep knowledge of the party and ability to inspire confidence among Nigerians. Based on these criteria, it is evident that Asiwaju Tinubu has an edge.”
It is indisputable that the former governor of Lagos will do well in Lagos, Ondo, Ogun, Osun, Borno, Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, Zamfara, Gombe, Kwara, Edo, Oyo, Cross River and Anambra
https://thenationonlineng.net/abdullahi-adamus-failed-coup/?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1654547349 Chief John Oyegun confirmed after screening that each aspirant, except Tinubu, conceded that the party's decision on consensus is supreme and they would support it. If party decides to use consensus other aspirants may end up in a conclave to vote a winning choice. |
Politics › Re: Buhari Settles On Consensus: His Candidate Is In Here. by MetaPhysical(op): 11:08pm On Jun 06, 2022 |
Osinbajo is Buhari's preference, but he will not impose him or use consensus to get him in. He is using proxies to bring Osinbajo in.
Northern governors do not want Tinubu. They prefer Osinbajo.
He will be a hard sell if everything were to just go smooth and normal so you first create a villain and a hero to play out the script. This is done by colluding Chairman Adamu against APC governors. The Southern governors will feel the opportunity slipping out of their hands and begin negotiating for last minute trades and deals.
When delegates vote, Osinbajo will emerge winner. Southern governors will then respond with a rejoice and send a thank you to their Northern counterparts for standing by them and insisting on Southern victory. Nobody will bother to think about Tinubu loosing his "turn".
The announcement by Abdullahi Adamu that Lawan is choice was a pressure point designed to frustrate Tinubu and bring him out in another tirade.
Net-net, Tinubu should go ahead and defect to another party now if that was his plan B. These people already have their candidate, and its not Tinubu. |

Assetinvestor: [s] Scores of Catholic Christians were massacred in Owo, Ondo State yet a governor that should feel pained and identify with the victims and loved ones decided to play politics.
This is the most insensitive, wicked, self serving and irresponsible act I have observed in recent times.
Does it mean the lives of Yorubas and others living in Ondo does not matter to this man? How the hell did Akeredolu state that the perpetrators are Malians trained in Libya? Does this fool think he is talking to kids?
Akeredolu even referenced what happened in America. Like seriously?! This old fool deliberately mentioned that to deflect attention and make it seem like it's a global pandemic and so his people should sulk it up.
Because Akeredolu wants his fulani masters to support Tinubu's ambition that's why people can be murdered en mass in Ondo State and he will blame Mali and Libya before taking the next available flight to Abuja.
I used to respect this man called Akeredolu but I have seen he is a scum, a slave and a fool of the first order.
May God accept the souls of the faithful departed.[/s] Keep your rhetoric up there in Arewa and spread the sentiments to villagers killed in zamfara, sokoto, kaduna, katsina and kebbi. Akeredolu is a dependable and trusted Yorubaman. What he said stands, until we see evidence and facts that lead elsewhere. |

"Agbara yi kiise ogun Oke Oya.
For him to realize that now, Tinubu has been pushed to the wall.
Even if Buhari was thinking of picking Tinubu few days ago, his outing in Ogun and speech is a show down to wrestle control from North and his candidacy will now be in jeopardy.
If he believes Nigeria is not an inheritance of North, then he ought to have questioned, long before now, why North monopolizes affairs of every region of Nigeria.
Tinubu wants Yoruba population to ask why Buhari is treating him like this ...but when Buhari matreated Yoruba Tinubu stood with him to say Nigeria is bigger than Yoruba.

.The opposition to a Muslim- Muslim ticket was not targeted at Tinubu or any other person. It was a decision that even all party leaders know helped the victory of the party and also worked for the unity of the country. That decision is not about self but national and collective interests. It is a decision which served the purpose of the people of Nigeria and I have no regret supporting it,” Saraki stated. Saraki should shut up. We cannot have muslim/muslim because it is interest of diversity and equity. That principle applies to North succeeding North and should be stopped for interest of national diversity. oz4real83: This is why we must stop electing criminals and people that have skeletons in their cupboard into political positions. The northern cabal and the Miyetti-Allah patrons control all security and other crime fighting agencies like the EFCC, ICPC and CCB. These are used to blackmail and threaten governors that don't do the bids of the northern terrorists. Somebody like Governor Obaseki suddenly changed when the issue of his certificate came to public space, despite Court's ruling in his favour, he is still afraid to pass the anti-open grazing law. He will do anything to please the north. If he had no criminal case, he would have been in the forefront of the fight. Other governors that passed the bills, only very few are implementing it because of the criminal cases against them. I agree. Imagine someone in prison winning an election. A treasury looter winning election. A rapist winning election. There is no consequence for crime in Nigeria so people go to extreme ends to access power and remain there. Then there is turf and cult wars among the power drunk criminals in office. It gets so brazen that it becomes their preoccupation, the functions of administration is neglected. Afterall no consequence for collecting salary and stealing money for zero work output. Part of the zero consequence is what had reduced Nigeria to what it is now. The solution is to return the territories to its pre-colonial period. |
