He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.

Exactly.

And what of his conversation with the Roman soldier.

Jesus is not a pacifist BUT whether he approves of Trumps actions is another matter

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

Where in the bible did Jesus recommend war?
He did not recommend war but he recognised its necessity. And plus he was a controversial and radical person when it came to doing what is right.

By the way there is a difference between personal grievances between individuals and corporate, national or tribal conflict that needs to be solved one way or the other

Jesus doesnt have a problem with protecting sovereignty or national interest from outside harm so nobody should quote me with "love your enemies" "turn the other cheek" bla bla because that has nothing to do with it

We aren't saying you shouldn't defend yourself or your possession Sir!

But our own Master Lord and King taught us to forsake whatever will make us kill anyone, be it a possession or homeland!

We MUST make sure that nobody dies due to our bid to hold unto anything as in ANYTHING!

So if you see anyone killing another person, just exclude the person's name from the list of those bearing the group name "Christians"!
That's all! smiley
i dont understand; what is your stance?

Jesus was not a pacifist and Christianity is not a pacifist religion. Wars are sometimes necessary since the world is in a fallen state.

Remember that a man is entitled to two or more women as wives.
It's biblical, it's Islamic and our traditions and customs as Africans permits it.
Moreover, polygamous is natural.
Whatever anyone wants to say, you can not dispute all these facts.

Let every woman take notice, one man one wife is alien and man is just trying to conform where possible.

For those who are not bold enough to practice polygamy, let their wives know that another woman is somewhere sharing her man secretly.
its not Biblical. Just because the Bible gives allowances for it for cultural reasons, it doesnt mean God wants it for Christians.

If you check the instances in the Bible where polygamous relationships occurred you will see that God was using scripture to illustrate why its not a good idea.

An ideal Christian relationship is between one man and one woman, nothing more, nothing less

Life is not as hard as we might think. No point taking everything personal.

I could have replied back with provocative words but instead I choose to come straight and plain because if I had done so, we would only be revolving in circles like a vector quantity that has magnitude but no direction.

No need arguing backward, well except if you're doing for the fun of it grin
You dont need to reply back with any category of words, you only need to admit that you are a hypocrite.

The woman verbally assaulted them first. You people should stop leaving out that detail.

The elder sister is wrong too, anyway.

But the problem is that this OP wont get it into her head that bringing the illiterate guy around and rubbing in her familys face doesnt make any sense.

Instead of her to work on herself and bring herself and her man up to the standard that wont provoke the elder sister she's here replying everybody rubbish

Look how stubborn she is! She has answered people back here, for better or for worse. At least she sticks to her guns and at least, some of the greatest people in history were also very stubborn.

Instead of directing her brilliant energy towards being better shes expending all her determination and fighting spirit on a futile venture.....trying to rub lipstick on a pig....trying to dress up her situation in fancy attires when we can all see that its total rubbish

On page 12 you will answer somebody that the man is working in a car-wash...they ask you "okay and what next"... No answer

One page 22 you still answer a different person that the brilliant man, the next King David of our times is working in a carwash...on page 32 she will still come back to answer the same thing again...does it make sensehuh

I hope after her shameful attitude at the mall, she suceed in keeping her husband till death. I have seen men who left and never returned after such show of shame from their wives.
The woman looks like the women the book of proverbs 21:19 talked about.
A wise and Godly woman will not stoop so low to fight her husband concubine but rather, pray to God to win/have/arrest the soul/heart of her husband. If God can't have your husband, you as the wife can't have him either.
My opinion though...

In all sincerity do you think the OP is ambitious at all? She believes in handouts from her well to do sister and Baby Daddy that she feels so entitled to it. IMO she's an NFA candidate with an hateful heart.... there is a difference between biting the hand that fed you and cutting off the arm entirely. ... if you bite the hand that fed you, the person can always feed you again when the hand heals and the pains have been forgotten but when you bite off the arm there is no remedy to it.
Lol I am flabbergasted at the responses she is giving here that "nothing for me because she never likes me" wtf! Too bad

The woman cant give her money when she refuses to help herself but she's talking about "like"

Even if thats what she thinks, cant she read the temperature of the thread and see that its not the appropriate thing to say right now? Lol.

Anyway somebody already gave her a nice advice, hopefully she takes it. But shes very very very insensitive! Jeez!

She thought she destroyed only her sister's Relationship and career....she forgot that evil deeds have spiral effects... A jobless and broken sister isn't the bread winner of the family anymore, a jobless sister won't be able to assisst when her lover boy defaults on paying his child's school fees. What she did was to bite off the hand that fed her and she'll definitely starve but this time its gonna affect the entire family because her sister not only lost her job and fiance, the family lost their bread winner and means of finance. ............ @OP i hope you're happy with your decision, because when hunger comes knocking your Baby Daddy won't help and whenever he makes that money he'd remember you plotted with him to destroy your family and he'd not want a woman that can destroy her own blood to be his wife. The Devils has built room and parlour in your heart and you actually need both spiritual and psychological help cos you're pretty messed up
Thats just the funny thing. So who will now pay the school fees lol

Anyway the elder sister is not supposed to talk to the guy that way in the first place either.

The OP and her man should be a bit more ambitious so that they wont need to ask the sister for anything

The whole thing is too much

What you need do is make amends. Use the same guys and girls to call your sister's fiance ANONYMOUSLY and apologize for lying about your sister. I pray he changes his mind and make amends with your sister.

If you come out and tell them, it'll further tear your entire family apart.
Yes, this is what I was trying to say but didnt know how to word it.

Make amends and move the situation along positively without overdoing it because you just want to spill everything and end up messing everything up in the process.

This is a good response.

Ohhh yeah. True, I forgot about that part of it.

Gosh... the girl has really done it, hasnt she...? huh

Anyway my perspective was more that she should focus on getting the sister well and back on track and make some holistic improvements to the situation before "confessing" whatever because there are some underlying issues here that havent fully been addressed. But youre probably right that she should come clean.
