To the average Nigerian, only the last car, the Volvo is cheap! |
^^^Lol! Sometimes, you ask "what's the purpose of life?" All the same, like the fishermen's story, I feel life is about learning - the more reason why some people say they are students of life. Principally, we pick one or two things here and there, using them to face everyday challenges. Street sense + book sense. |

In the voice of Lynus Igbokwe, "scallywags". In the midst of all the cluelessness, some scallywags have taken control. smh
Please let report this to the Moderators, I have just done so and I encourage all others to follow suit, so as to discourage evil, lives are at stake here.
Ignorance exemplified!!! If you don't know, ask! Please, when you consume household products at home, kindly report such goods to SON or any other regulatory body for having arabic language written on them. Smh 2x

Career: you don't get too many silly people posting there. Even when it gets to FP, the tendency to rubbish it is reduced. Technology/Computer/Phones: into IT, I like to be informed. Family: serious issues here. One must not rush before commenting here. Interesting reads. Problem here is that stories could be fake, so why should I be wasting time 'constructing plausible solutions' on fictions ![]() |
Commendable as it may seem, this is not the first time Islamic clerics have condemned BH who claim to be using Islam as their decoy. Ever since BH started their killings under UMYA's tenure, their condemnations usually turned them to targets of attack. Saying Muslims are docile and brooking this is throwing the background and history to the bin + self-serving More than 50 Muslim leaders repeatedlyOne must not forget how BH can kill one of them, Yusuf's 'in-law': http://247ureports.com/why-we-did-not-kill-obasanjo-boko-haram/ https://www.nairaland.com/622922/boko-haram-group-killed-muslim In BBC's Heart & Soul programme concerning the Malian insurgents, I remember a Malian saying "they want to enforce Islam on Muslims, it doesn't make sense!" Criminals are criminals. Cowards cannot jump to the stage and assume leadership forcefully on people. The onus lies on the FG to provide security, employment and an investor-friendly climate to quell the confusion and ingnorantly-induced hatred among citizens so that old men don't fuel a war they want young people to fight and get themselves killed in!! |
Don't you just love the way that sounds - hardship allowance? One of the hardest jobs it is!! |
Exactly!!! Not everyone can be mad. Android 419. lol Those guys aint foolish, they want to imitate close to perfection - the specs gave this one away! Even S2 has 8MP. Beware of outrageously cheap things!!!! |
You are what you wear! Dress the way you wanna be addressed!!! Shikena! |
Coming from a foreign source? Not surprised. The yoyo to see a religious war is something that tickles their fantasies! Often times, like BH, one wonders which one bebe MEND? The e-mail MEND? The correlation of Henry Okay and their arguments is twisted. Next thing they will say they are targetting anything South African! I must agree, things get clueless day by day . . . |

Ola Johnson: I've come to realize that most of the people on NL don't understand some of the topics on threads. The worse thing that can happen to a man in any academic setting or discourse is not to have a knowledge of what is being discussed but still takes part. The farther he goes the more he disgraces himself. There's a quick rush to type fast on this forum and sometimes, 'rushing' a topic to FP attracts it to every Tomiwa, Dickson & Haruna who may be willing to comment and force opinions on others rather than engaging in intellectual discussions. naptu2: This is one of the reasons why Radio Nigeria and the NTA should have indigenous language stations that broadcast the news, sports programmes, etc. It helps to ensure that these languages survive and it also enables people at the grass roots to understand political and economic issues that affect them.Hmmm. Radio Nigeria in Lagos has Bond FM 92.9 and Choice FM 103.5. I don't know which way they are going but it seems the DG wants to reposition RN stations. They even want to have a dedicated Sports and Business station. It appears those 2 stations are for indigenous languages, Bond fm caters for the 3 languages whilst Choice sometimes uses Yoruba. They operate like Positive Fm 102.5 Akure. Methinks, FRCN still tries to inculcate our languages in our programmes but more ccould be done. Bruce is an 'entertainer'. If you see the way Silverbird is going, NTA 7 existing under him will look laughable. There has been clamour for community radio stations. The Cool fm/Nig Info/Wazobia fm + Classic fm/Naija fm/Beat fm shows the way. . .competition will make for diversification and specialization. As an aside, there's this unfortunate stereotype among our supposed graduates/academics who classify anyone speaking any of our dialects as 'razz'. O ma se o Rexxie: AGREED,BUT WHY IS IT THAT ONLY THE HAUSAS/FULANIS IN NIGERIA OR MAJORITY OF THE HAUSAS IN AFRICA LOCATED IN NIGERIA ARE MOSTLY INTERESTED AND ARE ALWAYS TUNING THEIR TRANSISTOR RADIOS FROM SHOT WAVE (SW) TO MEDIUM WAVE (MW) TO EVEN BAR BEACH WAVE! (BBW) KINI WÓN FE'GBO, EVERYTIME?Will I use the same logic to ask store owners at Nnamdi Azikwe, Idumota the same thing? I listen to VOA, VON, DW, BBC World Service, CRI etc on such transistor radios. It has nothing to do with any Hausa man or what have you. I even prefer it to Nigerian stations that play more music than talk. For anything, it shows that such people are better informed by listening to such media. |
utumunta: Bros i greet u sir! Get a dictionary pls and look up "satire" or "lampoon".Oh dear. Next time, use emoticons/smileys to stress your satirical sentences. In a virtual forum, decoding your mindset is something users are not skilled at. Thanks ![]() |
chukwudi01: Consider it a blessing that we don't need websites in Yoruba or Igbo. The fact that we can read, write, and speak English opens up so many doors for us in Africa and abroad. If BBC and other major websites decided to publish things in Igbo, I bet you loads of people would start complaining about the dialect.E o ni gbe ede yin laruge, se ni e ma ma gbe asa oyinbo soke ^^^This, my friend smacks of neo-colonialism. I don't need to write the reasons anymore. Others have highlighted it. As usual, you'd get tribalistic, silly and ignorant comments. Was 'surprised' the day I first heard China Radio International's hausa service. If there's one thing I respect about the Hausas, it's preservation of languages. A recent research in one of the dailies highlighted how Nigerian languages are dying especially because they have no documentation. Professors of languages have warned us against not knowing our languages and how evidences show that learning one's language aids a child's development. I applaud the graduation lecture speech delivered at AAUN, Akungba recently. The professor delivered his entire speech in Yoruba language. Some people are not aware that literacy is not just about this English of a language, a person ia literate if he can speak, write and read in his or her language!!! In US, some Americans are studying Yoruba language and I can't forget the highlight of this, it was said, "very soon, your children will not know your languages, we will be the ones to come back and teach them". It's only a matter of time. . . |
I usually don't ask such questions but Oga op, how old are you? With such stereotypes, you do need a counsellor. Unfortunately, show me your friends and I will tell which you are seems to be ringing a bell here. All dis kain thing wey you put up there, na small Pikin talk make I no lie. I no even need to start with any advice. |
See what the world has become. On one hand some preach abstinence, on the other hand others say it's not a measure of faithfulness, more like, opening the can leads to explorations. On one hand, they tell us the disvirgined have 'been there, done that' so you can always count on them not to wander like Bolton Wanderers. On the other, it's better to have original Dunlop tyres. Some reading it may even dump their 'holiness' and seek someone else because they doubt if that 'uptight' other party may not also change later on after marriage. Whatever the case may be, morality varies across individuals but there are always virtues - if you like be hypocritical and don't practise what you preach but for sure, "eni ti o wa IWAKUWA, aa ri IRIKURI". |
utumunta: Cos Fashola is working ,Lagos is working and the flood is working.Does Fashola work to flood Lagos or block canals? This is not in anyway to save any government that neglects its duties but my friend Udeme, 'dis is Lagos' (apologies to Lagbaja), your response is not a reasonable one am sorry to write. |
As usual, it's either such a thread turns political or tribal. The poster says 'rare', it's not like you can't go to Iganmu and snap NT but here you have the photographer using his skills to launder images of a state. In other clones too, 'fine' pictures are projected for tourism, magazines, adverts etc not because there are no ugly places but to make such pleasing to the eye, visitors and residents alike. One important thing is to appreciate what we have and protect it/them - public property is what it is! The Shitta roubdabout there is an example. We must learn how to maintain recreation places. The guy calling IBB is not unexpected - always the attention! I could have as well thanked Marwa ![]() |
maclatunji: Bad idea, too many properties in the market without buyers. It is better to invest in a property long term like building a block of flats in the popular areas that most people want to live in like Yaba, Surulere, Anthony, Gbagada, Ilupeju and to lesser extent Palm Avenue, Isolo, Mafoluku, Onipanu etc. Some points herein but you do have to realise that investors have different risk tolerances, investment horizons and liquidity needs. Thus, it is not totally bad. Some like the turnaround maintenance like they ate buying out a company - different strokes. |
Miss Ope: pls how can u answer this usual question - what are You here for?But seriously, don't you know why you were there ni? Abi na winch things u do reach there? |
dannyokec: If I May ask, Please if you're in my Shoe, What will you do?Pray for him ![]() These Ctrl+V stories, so tired of them. As rightly observed by previous comments, am just pissed with the abuse of privacy on social media ![]() |
“The fornicator shall not marry any but a fornicatress and the fornicatress, none shall marry her but a fornicator.” Everybori lo mo egbe to wun ko o to kegbe kegbe. Don't think any party in the so-called desperation still wants to settle for a 2nd hand. There are >6bn people in the world, choices are unlimited ![]() |
Hope it comes with unlimited fuel cover but seriously, Adenuga asked him whatever he wanted. Don't think the branding was part of what Keshi wanted. Anyway sha, money speaks ![]() |
dabossman: Sometimes, your assessment starts from the moment you step through the gates. That long wait you are complaining about sometimes is also a test of your resilence and patience level. In some cases your every action while waiting is being watched through CCTV cameras. Are you the type who gets restless and begins to complain to the front desk executive? Are you going to start murmuring and grumbling to other applicants?Quite TRUE but I don't buy the wasting time ish. If an interview or test is scheduled for x time, information should be relayed as to what's happening. Entry level may have no choice (still doesn't make time wasting right) but experienced applicants are not necessarily begging for a job that you'll toss then around like an Olympic marathon time keeper! |
Quite TRUE, a lot of people under-utilize smartphones especially! A smartphone to me is my 2nd pc. To think out of the box and solve so many problems with these devices is a problem. |
YEAH, sour-soup. What I do know however is its help in tackling prostrate cancer but that it cures cancer seems too generic - do you mean ALL? If that were the case, the information woulda been 'hyped' by medics. So, don't tell us to just help spread misinformation without adequate facts and evidences. |
You are trying to create a trend and tag for her, am I correct? ![]() |
BayoAA: Or do you want to retaliate by interviewing him/her/them?This part got me rotfl!!! |
chamber2: My dear, sadly, that is the reality. Our graduates are nothing to right home about. We are talking about the spread of learning and knowledge.A situation where only but a handful can be called graduates in the right sense of it is pitiful.Take the case of a graduating class of 150, and only about 20% or so come out as real university graduates (maybe this 20 % is where you fall in).I mean, it's really bad. This is not write you know!!! |
Abbey2sam: And who told you its not copy and pasteWhen you see someone writing in the first person, "I" it is quite easy to bust any plagiarism offence(s) - why not first copy and paste some keywords to check the authenticity ![]() Abbey2sam: You could have made it short nah........Hope they don't make your interview short. Except you're going for Nigerian Idol, they probably may tell you to dance azonto out of the audition. I think such threads that are not news items should be allowed to germinate to a certain level before getting to FP so that @%#&$& category of people don't get to ruin it or think twice when they've seen it's not a 'junior' thread. duality: Having read the above, I remembered reading this one below. You don't want to wash your dirty linen at the market square. The case study of Jarus showed how he turned the -ve to an asset. If the 'perfectionist' answer is trite, perhaps Google had been feeding the troll!!! We are all unique, we also have our differences thus, one can use the weakness question to show why s/he is the way s/he is - that way, there is a |_| but you make them see the |+| in it. That way, there is a 'benefit' from the cost! |
A workshop was organized for journalists and PRs of INEC yesterday. The traditional media houses were told to realize the times and make use of social media too. There is no way ICT can be ignored on today's world - if negated, the negative impact nay be too great to contain. |
