I agree with the poster that Armani code really smells good. Which is the best for females? |
Who has read Karen King Aribisala? She is from Guyana, and I think married to a Nigerian. She lectures at the University of Lagos and has won a prestigious award in Literature. I have not read her, or rather, just browsed through one of her novels. Reason I am inquiring about her, is that there is a girl that I sort of know who told me that she, Karen is her favorite author from Nigeria. She has paid glowing tributes to this woman's literary work, that I am quite curious to know if anybody has. |
Guys, just an advice. Quit arguing with those who choose to disbelieve the Gospel. It is like going on an endless journey. Already, some folks, who espouse Christianity as their religion have descended so low to spew insults at other non-Christians. Please, be forewarned. |
Worked. Amazing. |
@Enitan. With God, all things are possible. If the Holy Bible says that Jesus Christ will descend from Heaven with the shout of the Archangel, who are you to doubt that such a miracle is unbelievable. Even if you are disinclined to believe, then remember that God Almighty is capable of performing the Greatest Miracles in the Universe. Open your mind to God and quit doubting. |
@Enitan, I wont be surprised if you are a member of a white garment Church. But to disprove your assertion that Jesus Christ wont descend from the sky, or even mocking those who are eagerly awaiting His Second Coming from the Sky, here is what the Holy Bible says. 1 Thessalonians 4:16: "For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first" |
Floss your teeth after eating and when brushing, pay particular attention to your tongue, because that is where some of residues resides. Drink lots of water, and avoid mouthwashes that has alcohol content, because it dries the mouth. If all else fails, consult a dentist to remedy the problem. |
Ok, it has never happened to me, before, but I have come very close to running out of gas. Once, while driving home I realized that I was running low on gas. It was in the evening and the nearest gas station, was miles away. I kept praying that I would make it to the gas station, and miraculously, I arrived at the gas station and filled my tank. Earlier on when I lived in Nigeria, as a kid, my father's chauffeur was taking us back to Calabar, after spending the weekend in the village. Guess what? He ran out of gas on the highway, much to the anger of my father. He rushed to the gas station and came back with a container filled with petrol. I just brushed off the incident. At another time, while going for a job interview that did not materialize, I had a flat tire. While I was pacing up and down the side of the freeway, trying to place a call to my insurance company /9-11 for assistance, another fellow pulled right behind me and told me that he had ran out of gas. His story was typical, finances played a major role, so in exchange for changing my tires, I offered him a ride to the gas station. Still, on my way to school again, I witnessed a scene where a man was filling his tank with gas, just off the freeway. I inquired from my coworkers about their experience and two told me that they had in the past. Worse of it all is when you are flying. How can one be so sure that the plane they are flying in has a tank full of gas? Ethel Kennedy (widow of Robert Kennedy) lost her parents in a plane crash, because the plane had ran out of gas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethel_Skakel_Kennedy) So your experiences please? How about those living in the USA? What would be your reaction if someone ran out gas here? Would you lay blame on them for failing to take advantage of the plethora of gas stations, in close promixity to one another in the spirit of capitalism, or would you chalk it up to the frailties of humans? |
Emegwali was touted as one of Africa's leading scientist in one African periodical. I fell for it, and even told my former co-worker, that a Nigerian was named as one of Africa's greatest scienties. We dont do our homework quite well. The guy was quite mad at me, and apparently, luck is on my side, because the guy has not brought it up again. Maybe I need to apologize to him that I was wrong, Emegwali's accomplishments leaves little to be desired. |
I am not Ibo, but an Ibibio man. I have never tapped palm wine, but I know those palm wine tappers attach themselves to a rope the palmwine tree. We all know it is risky, and can lead to a fall. I dont know of any tapper that has fallen from a tree, but if there was an 'invention' that could make tapping palm wine easier, would it be considered an abandonment of our ancient tradition in favor of modernism? See, black women in the olden days found it hard to maintain their hair. Our hair is coarse and not that easy to manage. The curling comb was invented, and now, women have the choice to either perm their hair, braid it, or for the self concisous Afro woman, maintaining a nappy look is ok for them. I just dont see any link between perming one's hair and abandoning one's black race. |
Much ado about nothing!!! Divadarlin, if you are going to complain that black women should not perm their hair, then take this advice. Dont communicate in the English Language, since it is the language of the caucasian. Dont eat European cuisine, but limit your intake to African food. Dont even bother going to school in the western world, but rather move back to Naija and choose to school there. And moreso, come out with ethnic hair products that would benefit black women. And oh, lest I forget, don't eat with cutleries, but with your bare hands, because you don't want to act white. |
America is the land where dreams are fulfilled. It is amazing what an impact this country (the USA) has created on the global scene, its footprints are all over the globe, to the point that when it sneezes, it is as if, the outcome would torpedo the world. Look at the Gulf War and how people were engulfed in watching it. Look at their capitalistic economy, that has poured billions into the hands of private investors. Perhaps, America is like a fantasy land, where dreams are fulfilled. It holds a phenomenal place in today's world. I dare say, there hasnt been any country, even in medieval times whose popularity has eclipsed that of America. Promise, which side you dey for California? |
No, it wasnt a play. Dont know the author's name. |
The story was about a little girl, called "Enitan", who was always trying to matchmake her widowed father with single women. She was a pre-teen girl, mind you, so it was quite mind boggling that the author would have bestowed such characteristics on the girl, now, when I think of it. Anyway, a female teacher took a keen interest in her well being and she saw that as an opportunity to hook her up with her father. They started dating, much to the disapproval of the elder daughter who hated her sister's teacher with a passion. Finally, the couple broke up tempoarily, without some past revelations about the teacher though. Her own fiance had died in a motor accident, just one week before their wedding, and months after this tragic incident, her tummy was protruding. People advised her to get an abortion, but she refused, she wanted to keep the child, as a memory of her dead fiance. At the end of the novel, she and her pupil's teacher had gotten in touch again, his elder daughter finally warmed upto her, and they got married. Do I support out of wedlock pregnancy/premarital sex? No. |
Who has read this book, "Time changes yesterday"? I have forgotten the author's name. |
We have God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God, as the Holy Bible says. Read Philippians 2:6 http://bible.cc/philippians/2-6.htm |
Very unprofessional@labelle. You could report him to his boss for such an unprofessional conduct. |
A book of 'fairy stories' that is the bestseller of all bestsellers. By the way, "Reverend", why go by the name that is associated with Christianity if you have doubts on the veracity of the Holy Bible? |
Amerinaija, Woodlawn, Maryland, according to Wikipedia had the highest percentage of Nigerians, of all the cities in the USA, so that is a distinction by itself. Maryland is a small state, with smaller cities, all interconnected to each other, so it is not unusual to see a 'spill over' of Nigerians from one city (like Silver Spring) to the next one (like Takoma park). The cities there are quite small in size, but they have a huge presence of Nigerians out there. Houston, as mammoth as it is in size, with clogged freeways is regarded as the unofficial capital of Nigerians in the USA. So, percentage wise, MD tops, but regarding population, Houston wins |
What of New Jersey? |
I'd rather pay 8 million Naira for a nice flat at Ewet Housing, Uyo, than to purchase a building at Dolphin estate. |
Of course, porn is wrong. Private institutions are at liberty to establish laws to ward against pornography/illicit sex and I support it. |
Just two, at most three. As much fun as it is having kids around, too many of them can drain you emotionally and physically. Come-o, has anybody ever wondered if our high maternal death in Africa can be attributed to raising too many kids? |
It is a fallacy to assume/believe that the God of the Holy Bible is the same as allah. Jesus Christ has rightly asserted, that He is the Only Way to God. On the other hand, the koran does not even believe in Trinity. |
Texaszpete, that was a brilliant piece. Unfortunately, we as humans, with our own frailities have sucumbed to the wiles of the world that one's success in today's world is gauged by the abundance of property and material wealth that we have accumulated in the society. As such, some people cave into these demands and fall into this temptation. Pastors are not above blame also. Rather than making the Salvation of God their number one priority to their congregation, avarice, takes center stage in their life. I just can't justify why any pastor would dress in a flashy $ 2,000 (estimate, abeg), suit or live in complete opulence, while beckoning to his congregants that their God is a rich God and would then inveigle them out of their hard earned money. Avarice has taken domination in their lives while modesty has been thrown out of the backdoor. Please note: I am not an advocate of poverty, but I think excessive wealth itself is a problem to an individual, especially, if one's mind is completely attuned to it. |
Interesting info about metrics market. But how accurate is it? |
He is playing with fire. Tell him to sever the emotional ties he has with the lady before he gets burnt!!! |
Ethiopians were granted asylum in the USA during the famine that hit their country in the 80's. Some were even airlifted (I think so) from their country, so that accounts for their vast population in the DC area. |
@Mariory, Nigeria is a muslim nation because IBB inducted it into ioc (islamic Organization council) But as for these attention on scammers, me no know, its is quite vexing that despite the negative publicity surrounding these shameful deceit, people are still falling for it. For once, the media needs to get its focus from Nigeria and also concentrate on American scams like paid online typing, pharmaceutical products that promises to restore your youthful vigor, lotto from fraudulent companies informing you that you have won a million dollars (and in small print, will issue out a warning), etc, etc. |
