This doesn't need any codes. If it takes a month for the poison to get active. So Quarantine all bottles and wait for a month to pass. The bad bottle will be discovered. |
Dude, why should anyone forward anything to you? Why not just post the requirements if you have them or post a url where it can be accessed? |
@Number_One who are you calling a half baked graduate? Nobody knows everything. Besides I'm through with the app development and it works fine only that the UI is ugly cos it uses the native phones default UI. I don't think Netbeans has a user interface enhancer and I don't have J2ME polish to polish up the interface so that it looks like Opera Mini.Dude relax, I was reacting to your previous comment Is J2ME is used for Java Mobile App development? The SDK is a heavy file to download but I'll try to do so. My project supervisor might insist i use VBASIC and forget about mobile app development.I thought you wanted to abandon the project. Nice to know you are done with it. |
I'm in Abuja. You can view my profile at www.greenspek.com. If you like it, then hit the Contacts page. |
Can someone post a simple tutorial on how to start j2me? How to bundle the code and send to mobile, so it actually installs??You can download this book (not written by me). It helped me when I first started JavaME. Download from http://www.greenspek.com/download/INTRO.pdf. While you are there, you can visit http://www.greenspek.com/download to see some Java and BB apps I've done (just to encourage you). --> Symbian is an operating system and not a language! If you are good enough in C++ then you good enough to start developing apps or wateva for the symbianOS. For a nokia phone that supports java, well obviously Java is the keyThanks for sorting that out. |
Different devices have programming languages they support. Here's a brief list: All Nokia support Java, some support symbian. All BB's support Java but BB has its own language. Android is a language and runs on Android phones. Xcode is a language that runs on iphone. There's also Bada language for samsung. The list is endless, choose the device you want to develop for and learn the language. |
The DVM and JVM aren't the same. The codes will be compiled differently. I had this problem once working with Blackberry apps. I'll advice you just write your codes for Android and compile with the DVK. |
Life doesn't work like that. You give out a specification/requirement document and get what you want. Don't just take any software from anywhere!Dude, you should know that NOT everyone here is a developer. I think the important thing is to pass the BASIC info across, then if understood, the details can discussed. |
PC era coming to an end? Huh? How can the PC era come to an end when its just starting? PC means Personal Computer. Your phone, calculator, tablet, laptop, desktop etc are all PC's. The proper thing to say is PC's are getting smaller. This isn't new, they were much bigger in the 80's and have been shrinking since. Perhaps the OP meant the Desktop and Laptop era is coming to an end. |
At the risk of arguing (which I'm not interested in), they didn't hack Paypal and Visa. If they did was it defacing, publishing records or Ddos? They justTRIED to do a brief DDos on Paypal and Visa with very minimal impact. They ABANDONED trying it on Amazon but when they saw their infrastructure. |
Mine was a few months back, when I realized that I could sell apps with recharge vouchers rather than shortcodes. It was a relief cos those shortcodes were too damn expensive. |
Bullshit! So if this "Anonymous" is so good, why didn't they deface Paypal or Amazon or Mastercard. They couldn't even do a DDos on Amazon. Big organizations like Google have servers on all Continents. Even if a Tsunami destroys the whole of US or Australia, google.com will still be available. The best they can do is phish user passwords which isn't new but DDos or defacing, I don't think so. |
Why all the beef? I'm not a marketer for the network in question but just take a look at your phone contacts and see how many numbers are from this network. The issue is not with the network. You don't need to go far, just ask your friends why they use the network. I'm sure some posters here use this network. |
Dude, you should be ready to pay a fortune for such a software. |
Ok, Check my profile a www.greenspek.com then holla at the webmaster. |
Government are not the problem in I.T in nigeria. The problem is the mentallity of people, especially programmers in nigeria. Just think after weeks of hard work to create a software and sfter releasing it, non of your own country programmers can even try to use it and tell you if there are errors that you can fix.I don't agree with you totally. Nigerian may be individualistic but I have gotten bug alerts my from app users. I didn't find out if they were developers, but they sure were Nigerians. |
Ask the owner |
Its only on NL that proGRAMMERS focus on GRAMMER. |
Why not just save your data in system file? You can still read your data off the file. The file may not be password protected but you can do some encryption if need be. |
I haven't used an Etisalat modem but what exactly do you mean by "unlock code"? I believe modems work with any sim. All you need is to know the network settings. (username and password) |
Hmm, U know what I ll take my time to do a sample program on J2me with bluetooth and i ll try to post it here as a tutorial before the week runs out. Using j2me wireless tookit and netbeans 7.You need not stress yourself. There is a bluetooth demo as a sample with codes in the J2ME SDK. |
Is J2ME is used for Java Mobile App development? The SDK is a heavy file to download but I'll try to do so. My project supervisor might insist i use VBASIC and forget about mobile app development.Taking the easy way out? So much for half baked graduates. I'm sure when you graduate and a job application is open for a Java mobile developer, you'll submit your CV there and hope to get the job. Programming takes time and effort, its more like engineering, its more of practicals and field work (which take time). |
Its funny that according to NCC, MTN is still the biggest network in Nigeria. The way I see it, a lot of folks aren't happy with MTN but for what ever reason, THEY STILL PATRONIZE THEM. Too much lip service, If you don't like them, buy a new sim from another network, its about 250 bucks at the most. |
I need a good web developer. Please if you are available, send me an email at kola.ibrahim@yahoo.com. Include your phone number and brief overview of your cost. ThanksI'm sure if you go through this thread you will see a LOT of web developers and their profiles. If you are serious, I suggest you contact them. |
Nice thread. I once worked with ladder programming language. I designed an alarm trigger system that sent alert when and event occurs. E.g. A mail or sms can be sent to a house owner when his room door is opened or when power goes out. I'll go dust up those books. |
Gee, all this for a church? Whats the budget? |
Testing and Debugging in Software development CANNOT be over emphasized. Though some errors may still arise later after extensive testing, I think the keys to a great product are:Thanks for the clarification but I didn't mix 'em up. I said Testing and Debugging. |
Oops. Try uninstalling and reinstalling them all. |
Testing and Debugging in Software development CANNOT be over emphasized. Though some errors may still arise later after extensive testing, I think the keys to a great product are: Graceful Exits and Updates. Graceful exits, I mean when an error occurs in the app, it still allows the user save current data before exiting. Updates should be able eliminate bugs while preserving user data. |
Now that you mentioned it, I have a HP 530, 2 year old laptop. I'll call it a desktop now cos the battery last just 5 mins. Every other thing works. You can mail me @ laptop@greenspek.com |
The future is with web applications. I bet the owners of NL don't need any power to run it daily. The future is on the web. |
