PhonesRe: Andriod Apps by NumberOne2(m): 10:46pm On Nov 23, 2011
You don't need paypal like in Blackberry store to shop on Android. All you need is a debit or credit card.
These days even your standard ATM card can be used (VISA or MASTER CARD). Find out from your banker if the card supports it. Once you put in your card details and its verified, each time you shop, cash is deducted from the card. Its just like shopping online.
PhonesRe: Htc Smartphone Issues by NumberOne2(m): 10:31pm On Nov 23, 2011
Visit your manufactures website to find out more about your device and if it can support android OS.

Android market is only for android devices. In the meantime your can try Java apps, I'm sure windows support java just like Blackberry.
PhonesRe: Chatting Application For Andriod by NumberOne2(m): 9:56am On Nov 23, 2011
what's app is useless. I downloaded it and I kept getting blank sms every hour. No one told me to delete it.
If you want to chat try Yahoo messenger. it also has a Facebook integration so you can chat on Facebook from your Yahoo messenger.
Gtalk (Google talk) is also good and all android devices have them by default.

What a relief:

Seun should second this.
PhonesRe: Blackberry Internet Vs. Smartphone Internet Data by NumberOne2(m): 1:34pm On Nov 09, 2011
If my 8Gb is an error from Glo then why should I complain? But I doubt it cos it has been on for a while now. Perhaps its an independence day package. Besides since the glo1 cable landed in West Africa, Glo internet should be the cheapest around. Thanks Mike :-)
PhonesRe: Blackberry Internet Vs. Smartphone Internet Data by NumberOne2(m): 12:53am On Nov 09, 2011
I use GLO and they give free data when you recharge. I thinks its 25Mb per N500 recharge. Dial 1241 to check you data / MMS balance. Its free. Your data balance will be read to you in kb so just divide the value by 1024 to get the amount of MB you have.

I have about 3Gig on my device now and I had no idea how I racked up that much. When I browse my call credit is unchanged though the data balance reduces.

P.S: Beware of folks that try to scam with "GLO fre.e browsing". Its not a hack. Its the network configuration.

I wonder why GLO doesn't advertise things like this. If it was MTN, they world have painted the whole place "yellow" with it.
PhonesRe: Blackberry Internet Vs. Smartphone Internet Data by NumberOne2(m): 11:35am On Nov 07, 2011
I use an Android device. Here are some tips, when not using data turn it off. Turn on only when you need to go online. Also put off background sync. Use opera for browsing. It reduces data by as much as 70%. Also be careful with youtube clips.
PhonesRe: Blackberry Internet Vs. Smartphone Internet Data by NumberOne2(m): 11:14am On Nov 07, 2011
BB has better data compression and management than Android or iOS. Plus BB's have a larger market share.

More THEORIES, NO RESULTS.
I guess all developers here are big boys that earn over N400,000 a month (which is an obvious lie). Cos if this is a weeks work and 4 weeks are in a month, do the maths.
Shut up and do the job or keep your theories for the pulpit.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Why Do Nigerian Employers Conduct Job Interviews Till Night? by NumberOne2(m): 11:28am On Nov 01, 2011
Its simply because we don't value time in this part of the world. Even for social events like weddings or birthdays, we come 1 or 2 hours late. Look at civil servants when they go to work. Some get to work by 10am. We are all guilty of this. It called Nigerian Time.
ProgrammingRe: Web Application Development Contest: Jajad Wins by NumberOne2(m): 11:18am On Oct 31, 2011
I was so embarrassed to be a Nigerian developer when I read this thread. How are your comments relivant to the topic. If this was posted on an Indian, Ghanian or South African, it would have been done by now. All of you are just speaking GRAMMER. Nairaland is full of proGRAMMERS. Keep quiet and do the work or save your comments for the pulpit.
WebmastersEveryone Wants To Be A Blogger? by NumberOne2(op):
Wow, it amazing how every Tom, Dick, Harry and Sally wants to be a blogger. It seems to be the new revenue earner for folks on the web. Well, as always most folks get dissapointed because they don't earn as much as they expect.

It'll be nice if some folks learned to think rather than copy. Even if you must copy, copy creatively and add a little something for the end user to come back.
My point: Be creative.
ProgrammingRe: African Mobile Apps Competition by NumberOne2(m): 11:29am On Oct 05, 2011
Cool site but it doesn't state the app categories. What kind of apps are we talking about? Android, Ipad, Java, BB? I do Java and BB apps. You can view them at www.greenspek.com . I may have an app to submit but are already published apps eligible?
FamilyRe: LETTER TO NIGERIAN PARENTS by NumberOne2(m): 5:20pm On Sep 22, 2011
So much insults for someone's personal views on an issue?
I don't know of any other forum (pls show me one if there is) where just because someones views differ from yours people resort to insults. Calling someone a FOOL in a civilized setting? Wish you knew the meaning. I'm disgusted.
FamilyRe: LETTER TO NIGERIAN PARENTS by NumberOne2(m): 1:10pm On Sep 22, 2011
I don't think its an issue of the rich. Poor parents only send their children out because of poverty. If they had more money they wouldn't. Look around, even middle class parents don't allow their kids do such small jobs. Its the mindset not necessarily a status issue. Like the OP said, hard work doesn't kill.
FamilyRe: LETTER TO NIGERIAN PARENTS by NumberOne2(m): 12:49pm On Sep 22, 2011
Whether it was on saharareporters or sudanreporters doesn't matter. Its the truth. I was almost a victim. I had to break loose from home myself. Normally its parents that should initiate this. I love my parents but sometimes a man has to go out on his own.
Web MarketRe: Get A Simple Website For 6k With Your Personalized Email Address by NumberOne2(m): 10:48pm On Sep 21, 2011
Dude, you probably should think of the business side of Web design.

Answer this question: If I give out FREE websites, will it bring in more clients? I don't think the answer is yes. Clients that want websites usually know that it costs money and most are willing to pay for a good job. Its not always about price.

There are cars worth 50K some 400K and others 5Million. Cars worth 50K aren't sold out are they? As a matter of fact, people look down on it as CHEAP.

Driving the price down doesn't bring in more customers, trust me, I know from experience. Most folks just want to see what you have done before so they can judge what you are capable of.

Design your own website, make it cool and market it as your work. Those interested will come.

Yep, its interesting alright.
PhonesDownload Text3.5 On Your Phone And Send Sms In Naija For Just ₦3:50k by NumberOne2(op): 1:54pm On Sep 18, 2011
Text3.5 is a phone app that allows you CHAT and send SMS to ANY NETWORK in Nigeria for just N3.30k via the web. Your network may charge you about 20 kobo or less for browsing to send one SMS. You will agree that N3:50k is still quite cheap for an SMS to ANY NETWORK in Nigeria.

Download free at www.greenspek.com and don't forget to share your thoughts (positive or negative).

I'm definitely in on this but enough coders in the house there is no need for more.

This is the role I propose: I'm in Abuja so I'm sure I can trace which office handles this when the project is done. Knocking on doors isn't my thing but I'll try.
Tech JobsRe: Programmer Help. by NumberOne2(m): 8:54pm On Sep 17, 2011
No newbie is going to learn anything on Nairaland programming section because Fayimora is incharge.I will prefer someone based in Nigeria to handle this section. These folks abroad dont understand the system here.Am sorry for anyone coming here for programming assistance.
Show me ONE foreign forum where codes were posted for newbies and I'll show you TEN foreign ones that codes weren't given. Since you are so kind hearted, why don't you create your own forum where Programmers can come copy codes?
PhonesRe: Glo Launches Dstv Mobile by NumberOne2(m): 1:46am On Sep 15, 2011
With the current price of GPRS in this country, I don't think this idea will work. How much do they intend to charge per month? Plus they have limited themselves to a specific phone. So which is better, buying the Nokia phone or buying the DSTV dish?
I quote myself again.

Thank you so much for your time wasted,iv'e already gotten more than i wanted from a member in ngmix .net through email & i have crossed that stage now.You can now keep your discouragement & the useless link you posted cause i got a better link & encouragement. I do help members one way or the other on Nairaland & i don't care to know how lazy or smart they are before helping them.Congratulation you are a programmer which you are not the first neither will you be last! To caption it all,am on the track now.
So much for half baked graduates. So when a position for a Programmer comes up in a company after you graduate you'll submit you CV and pray/fast so can get the Job right? No wonder our educational system is below Zero. CV carrying/Unskilled graduates.

Perhaps it will help to post the Googled result here.
What I mean is if the poison is active in 1 month, then perhaps you can give a month for it to become active. At that point, anyone tasting it will get instant death. So if it is tasted and the person lives, there's nothing wrong with that bottle. Elimination.
Forum GamesRe: A Small Puzzle by NumberOne2(m): 11:36am On Sep 12, 2011
It'll be more useful if the route to the answer was shown.
360 (60 mins) = the entire clock. 5 mins is 30 degrees. At 15mins past the hour, the hour hand would have gone 1/4 of the distance btw 3 and 4 hours is = 1/4 of 30 degrees = 7.5 degrees. Genius :-)
