quinSonia:from bluetooth to basic scanners that cost 10 to 15k. but for now wait for the technician response and as you are waiting do a vin check of your vehicle to know what you are facing or is the vehicle nigerian used? |
quinSonia:switching brainbox to work effectively means he has to reprogram yours to the other venza because they are different, the brainbox may work but not optimally. Besides if yours is a 4cylinder and the other is a V6 venza issues go still dey. A simple plug and play scanner would have given code if the brainbox is faulty. if you bought the venza tokunbo its time to do a vin check, the vehicle could be flooded or accidented that will let you know next steps to take. |
petrusevents:start by scanning the transmission, it will make your diagnosis very easy and narrow things down. the second thing is seems your vehicle is moving in higher gear, your low range gears are faulty but like i said scan vehicle first especially the transmission |
quinSonia:parasitic drain cannot be picked up by scan tool, like he said it takes patience and time with tools that are less expensive mostly (multimeter and a bulb attached to a tester) but the skill to do it right one by one testing each component electrical pathway nah the koko. the bone of contention in your case is letting the mechanic loosen the brainbox because if the brainbox is at fault, it will definitely throw a code. |
still selling |
abootoyyib:CRV should be your choice 1. cheaper to buy among your choice 2. better fuel economy among your choice 3. is as reliable and maintenance reduced cost as the rest |
marketlogo:With cold AC right? |
See person ho open canker worm op never updates the thread.Though I bought a 2009 BMW 760Li in Blur 2008 and drive the vehicle in my dreams anytime I want ![]() |
shezy14:Latest apps like what exactly? Its camera is still okay, good speakers, battery replacement Is a breeze, WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and other sundry apps still work and its os is 8.0 Oreo paired with 4gig ram. The S7 edge in 2023 is a good midrange budget phone. |
Unlimitk:The way some of you make claims without repercussion is alarming. Samsung no be chinko phone, my wife still using hers 3 years now |
milanseedorf:download obd app on google play one i know is torque pro, then plug the BT scanner to your obd port, search and pair with your phone and connect. once connected, you use the torque pro to scan |
Trinity33:when you press brake and you receive a force feed back vibration to your leg, your disk is bad, it has uneven surface nah complete change be that |
available |
Androidking:Though the lexus is old but still more luxurious than the CRV even with almost 6years difference. For engine the Rx300 is reliable, rugged and less expensive to replace than the k24 in the CRV. Both vehicles are available in FWD and AWD but the lexus will do better in offroad due to its size and ground clearance than the CRV. The CRV is fuel efficient among your choice. But as a construction worker both may not be too good cause of suspension when it comes to heavy load and too much offroad (rocks, gravel etc) I did say look at a naija used explorer sport trac, ford everest, mazda B2000 or ford ranger you should get good ones for 2m naija used |
The problem of the north American variant are the GDI engines available in 2.0T variant and 2.4 NA variant. The GDI engines over time get deposits of carbon which causes serious issues over time especially in our environment. if you can get the other engine variants especially the MPi variant then you are good to go. Also be riminded the replacement engines cost 1m plus. Other than that, its a good vehicle |
Philipgarza31:funny false comment, which wahala does honda gives that toyota doesnt give x2. @ op i would have adviced you buy a honda but seems your mind is made on toyota you can buy her a 2010 or 2011 camry 4cylinder i trust it more than the 2008 to 2013 corolla. leave honda for the enlightened ones like US. |
cardoctor:probably each cylinder was supercharged making the car a quadroppru... english fail me ![]() |

Benz are reliable and affordable especially a C class which is like a starter pack of Benz. We don't know what year C240 you talking about but W202 and w203 benz are reliable and strong W202 96 to 2002 while w203 03 to 07. What you know about Benz is false though, don't go and pour 8L of oil in your c240 make the engine no go kpafuka, 8L of oil are most engines of 8 to 12cylinders of any maker not only Benz. |
Parasitic drain is a small issue with big problem it would have been easier if it started after a new device was fixed to the vehicle but as it is a tokunbo, you need a good technician that can work with a multimeter, he would test each electronic feed to dertermine which still drains battery after engine is off. |

oweniwe:you are also right but no trouble like a car shutting down on you at a godforsaken place at an ungodly hour. Whats more buying a car with all your savings and end up parking it without receiving intended usage. Car parts are very expensive now when i say very expensive i mean parts you buy at one naira b4 are now x3. if bikes are allowed in the ops region he can get a brandnew one and use it to convey his family from time to time, they just have to make extra provision during raining seasons. Atleast Brandnew daylong and Lifan with hand kick is around 400k, Bajaj hand kick 520k while no kick starter is 480k, TVS is around 450k, Haojue which is the most solid of all is 700k for brandnew and they can last 3years without any major issues popping up |
collinsy2:good choice both 4cylinder and the v6 |
Wisdom2003:Instead of a CRV buy honda Element instead, bigger cargo space more reliable 2.4L K24 and strong transmission which isn't prone to issues 03 to 06. 4WD variant if within reach |
valarinz:Here in france we don't do Voluvo |
valarinz:They are talking about 1980s engines that are still waxing strong in 21st century you dey mention indomie generation engine Very Odd Looking Unidentifiable Vehicular Object ![]() |
Sirchiboy:First have in mind that to buy a car is easy, to maintain same is the hardest part. Your initial budget is very small to buy a car that will give minimal issues in Nigeria currently you need around 1m, the lower the buying price of a car the higher the maintenance cost you would incur 90% fact their are some lucky instances cheap good car. 55k monthly salary for a single man can maintain a car but for a family man, too thin financially. Let's say you got a kia Picanto or Nissan micra those 1.1L fuel efficient engines ![]() 4L of oil is around 8k, filter is 2k workmanship 2k that's 12k fueling let's say 40L per month @ 200/L that's 8k total 20k Can you afford to cough out 20k from ur salary in a month without affecting other basic family needs? If you are not in lagos you can try a bike, nah wetin I dey push up and down and I get 75km on a liter, I use 10L in 2.5 weeks |
What is special about the total MVLV? |
Pogba12:Go ladipo market nah or speak to gazzuzz he can source good engine for you at fraction of importing |
Pogba12:Are you saying the engine isn't available here in the whole of Nigeria? Though if you can afford to, always good to ship if the seller is trustworthy. But those hyundai GDI engines sha am guessing it's a 2011 to 2016 model year |
Pogba12:What vehicle sir? |
olaitoro:01 to 03 automatic get factory issues though it may have been fixed 04 and 05 was okay. for me do proper inspection of the vehicle you are about to buy. If the transmission isnt in order then know the specimen you are testing has the brainbox defect that kills transmission. |
