Mandeyy:No I'm not a liar, rather you're being either a child, suffering from intentional amnesia, or you just weren't aware of political happenings in Nigeria prior to 2015 (your kind are plenty on this forum these days). By the way please provide any evidence you can of Sowore stepping into Nigeria for any protest between 1999 and 2015. It's repulsive when people just cook up baseless statements from thin air simply because they want to force an argument. Meanwhile, I dont even need to search to dig up stories like this; unfortunately like I said, a lot of people commenting on Nairaland these days were only 'born' in 2015. https://www.pri.org/stories/2013-04-09/nigerian-journalists-detained-after-story-president-goodluck-jonathan |
Angelfrost:No such thing as 'tolerant leaders' in Nigeria. The only reason Sowore wasn't arrested under OBJ and GEJ was because he never stepped foot in Nigeria then, and when he did, he only sneaked in and sneaked out through Cotonou. |
PassingShot:Tambuwal just won a few minutes ago and it was 'victory for democracy'. |
The so called Cameroonian pastor may have asked a pointless question, but Apst Suleman's response was unnecessary and unbecoming of a public figure (most especially a religious leader). Some people shouldn't be allowed to personally handle their social media pages; I'm sure he would delete that tweet before the morning. |
Dagger111:Is that the official price or just the blackmarket agbero price? Because we all know how these things always work upside down in Nigeria. |
vinceobe:Where do people even get this impression from that trains are meant for the poor? Could this idea be from places like India and Bangladesh where we see pictures of overcrowded dirty trains with people sitting on the roof? Trains are faster, safer, more secure, more comfortable and more luxurious. In every developed country I've been to, train fares are well more expensive than buses; in the UK for instance, train fares are even more expensive than flights on several routes. So why exactly do many people just harbour this idea that trains should be cheaper than road for passenger transport? |
Dagger111:Is the fare N2500? I remember the fare announced was somewhere between N600 - N900 when that route was launched. |
Debaiz:Assuming the N100m/month is NET PROFIT, it would take over 100 years for it to payback the loan. But we all know the N100m can't be profit, I'd be shocked if the operational and maintenance costs dont swallow the entire N100m. The rail just appears to be another govt liability for which operational and maintenance and loan repaynent cost would still have to be taken from oil revenue. |
Operational and maintenance cost will run over N200 million per month and at the current rate, there is zero chance that the revenue from the rail can repay its $500m loan in even 500 years. So what exactly is there to celebrate about another massive government liability? |
ednut1:The silent treatment Buhari gives to these people has finally hit them where it hurt most, especially since the tribunal episode dawned on them. One doesnt need to look too far to see why they now all remembered Osinbajo in their dreams. |
BrainnewsNg:Clowns everywhere.... I guess this is also how they advised GEJ and some other PDP bigshots embroiled in corruption allegations to resign. Dem dey count meat for pot, kpomo follow dey raise hand. Concerned citizens are questioning the integrity of leaders, PDP miscreants are also talking of integrity and giving advice. |
gaetano:We see all sorts of broadcast messages of this kind on whatsapp, facebook etc, driven purely by victim mentality, paranoia, tribal mistrust and dubious politics. But the big question is, how many of these are true and how many are just baseless propaganda? When I asked if you can substantiate this, I expected you would provide any evidence whatsoever suggesting that the Nigerian government was indeed charging higher charges for international flights landing at Enugu as claimed; I wasn't expecting some twitter or whatsapp broadcast message by faceless people as you have provided. For starters, everyone who flies knows that the cost of flight tickets typically vary based on demand and supply; reason why if you purchase tickets earlier when there are still many available seats, you get a lower fare. So it's not exactly clear how the authors of the above message arrived at what almost looks like fixed prices for flights to China. This very message was broadcast sometime earlier this year and Ethiopian Airline officials came up and debunked the story, but I'm not surprised the same message is still being spread. https://www.pressreader.com/nigeria/thisday/20190503/282166472608274

gaetano:Can you really substantiate this claim (in bold)? |
badcompany:Who is responsible for the insecurity in the eastern ports?... Is it westerners or northerners or government? |
RZArecta2:The Ibaka deep seaport is a state govt initiative. The proposed Badagry and Lekki Ports are also state govt initiatives! Do you mean to say the Akwa-Ibom state government also applied 5% rule to marginalise itself and its people by abandoning the Ibaka deep sea port?.... Do you mean to say the Lagos state government is applying 5% rule by refusing to use Lagos state funds to build a deep seaport in the eastern coast?. What exactly does this have to do with the 'imbeciles' in Aso Rock? What exactly do we call this type of reasoning? How could a people just sit back and allow victim mentality and mental slavery destroy their minds? ![]() You're welcome to come and insult me! |
This actually defines us! ![]() |
Atiku is cuming, Atiku is cumming!! Atiku is cumming! Buhari waec! Buhari waec! Buhari waec! Now it's.... Osinbajo is houseboy, Osinbajo is commissioner, Osinbajo is under cabal, Osinbajo is thief, Osinbajo, Osinbajo, Osinbajo!!! |
Dpharisee:Can you substantiate this claim that the FG is carrying out more CAPITAL projects in the north than the south? It's not enough to just repeat a 'popular opinion' over and over again because that popular opinion can sometimes be false. In my opinion I think it is richer states that spend state funds in fixing federal road; biggest culprits are Lagos, RIvers and Delta. |
LadyExcellency: cyberguy72:President Buhari is ethnocentric, there is no argument on that. But can you point out any tangible evidence to prove that his ethnocentrism affected the national spread of projects in the federal ministry of works? Regarding the instruction to World bank / IMF, it is the normal tradition of those institutions to concentrate their aid efforts in war ravaged areas. As far as Nigeria is concerned, only the north east is war ravaged, so the president's instructions to the IMF were not out of place. Besides even being war ravaged, every single human development index which informs the IMF/World bank's decisions on where to provide aid also points to the north; extreme poverty, disease, hunger, illiteracy etc. PMB doesn't need to tell the IMF how to do what they've been doing for ages. With that away, let's return to the main issue. I ask again, kindly point out how the president's ethnocentrism affected the spread of capital projects around the geopolitical zones?... Give me substance, not childishness or emotions. |
mushystuff:There's this widespread notion that the FG is fixing roads in the north and abandoning the south, especially the SE and SS due to ethnocentric reasons. In a moment of truth and honesty devoid of political emotions, can you substantiate this your claim that the ministry of works is currently fixing more roads in the north than elsewhere?... Saying something over and over again, and believing it as fact, doesnt necessarily make it true. How long are we going to keep believing and propagating this false notion? Meanwhile, regarding the directive by Buhari to governors, you cant really blame the FG and neither can you blame the governors. This is like a husband who while still thinking of a birthday gift he can afford for his wife, the wife goes ahead and buys a brand new Ferrarri as her gift, and then asks the husband to refund her the gift money. If you were the husband, what would be your reaction? |
madridsta007:Forgiveness for what exactly?.... Forgiveness for being a consistent critic of every single useless Nigerian government since 1993 till date?... Is that what Sowore should be seeking forgiveness for?... A lot of Nigerians truly need divine help! |
LifestyleTonite:Hahaha... FFK also remembers the terrible things he himself said against GEJ whilst he was in APC, before he eventually crossed-over to PDP at the last minute to find grub. Meanwhile, those who think Sowore owes anybody an explanation or needs forgiveness for being a very consistent critic of every useless Nigerian government since 1993 need to have their brains checked. |
paiz:What exactly is the crime in a person speaking out against bad governance? |
akinblog:This has nothing to do with this thread but I've just been wondering... Guys like Deji Adeyanju, what's their source of income? |
Lol... I concur, taking something meant for someone else is stealing, regardless of whether the person is your loved one. ![]() |
femi4:Dont worry, dem dey... full squad! ![]()

Jayslicky:If you dont like a person, you know you could just ignore them or their posts and move on right? Sometimes I wonder how people feel the need to always drop some very distasteful and hurtful comments against people they dont even know personally just to make them feel hurt and depressed. How do people actually feel better when they drop these kind of comments? ![]() We go to church and pray against witches, wizards and demons, but sometimes we do not know some of the simple things we do or say nonchalantly against others makes us perfect equals with the hellish agents we pray against. Tufiakwa! |
Sorry losers... |
Tomide007:I wonder... |
kings09:I'm sorry but why exactly is my name being mentioned here? I'm just seeing this topic for the first time this afternoon. Are you schizophrenic? I mean, are you having trouble differentiating your thoughts from reality? |
Lol... what a thread! A thread for 'village pipo' |
