Kingbuhari:Has Air Peace finished managing its own fleet efficiently?... with all their bad customer service? |
Kingbuhari:The airline owners are silly then... How well have they managed their own airlines and what kind of services are NIger4ians getting? It should have even been 90% Ethiopian. We just desperately need a functional airline in Nigeria. |
Nigeria Air is definitely a good development... The enttire report didnt mention why the airlines aren't happy with Nigeria Air. |
Nice... Hope the airline grows... |

nairalanda1:Again permit me to loud it here, the next best thing wasnt getting rid of APC; if that same APC had put up a candidate like Osinbajo, I probably would have supported APC. The real next best thing was to get rid of characters like Atiku, Tinubu and their likes. So it was a no brainer supporting OBI regardless of the odds. Supporting OBI was a battle against people like Atiku and Tinubu. And no! we werent going to compromise in the battle field by embracing one of the Pharoahs we were trying to get rid of. |
richmond500:So what's your beef with OBI then? You wanted TINUBU to win, he won! But you're still here all over this thread yapping about how foolish OBI is for contesting in the election and causing ATIKU to fail?.... You see how your obsession for OBI is gradually eroding your reasoning right? |
AdesegunSanni89: richmond500:Nonsense! OBI exercised his right to contest and he put up a very good performance out of nothing. All of you pained that ATIKU didnt win should go prepare for another failure in 2027. |
nairalanda1:Again and Again and Again, APC is not the problem of Nigeria, our entire political class is. So saying the target of 2023 was just to get rid of APC doesn't sit well with me; in my opinion I even think it's myopic because anyone who understands Nigerian politics knows there's no difference between PDP and APC and after seeing what APC got away with in the last 8 years, the PDP could even bring a worse hell to Nigeria if they're let back to power.. In summary, I don't care about parties, I care about the individual contestant. And hey! I dont see how ATIKU is better than Tinubu one bit! |
profmallor:Why should he be number 2? How does that benefit Nigeria? Is it not this same Nigeria where the office of the Number 2 is as useless as a local govt councilor?... Then you expect him to be Number 2 for the next 8 years? Besides, OBI almost won the election (that's if he didnt even win); with northern votes shared between APC and PDP, this was like the best chance for OBI and he almost swept it (if not for the obvious state sponsored malpractices). The focus of my argument is the comment about OBI being "stupid for contesting in the election because it made ATIKU not to win". There's nothing stupid about OBI exercising his right to contest in an election where he clearly had a chance. Who cares if it affects ATIKU? Who cares if ATIKU lost? How could ATIKU winning have favoured OBI or Nigeria? In a nutshell, saying OBI was stupid for contesting an election (which he had a good chance of winning) was a stupid assertion! |
Moh247:Tinubu scored 8.8 million votes, OBI scored 6.1 million votes; by all historical electoral standards, that was an outstanding performance from OBI. But somehow, you guys think OBI was stupid for contesting in an election where he almost won? ... Like I said above, this is a very useless assertion. Assuming OBI had won the election, this is just like saying "OBI used ATIKU/TINUBU to split ATIKU/TINUBU votes in the north". So let's even assume for a second that OBI didnt contest and then ATIKU won? How exactly does that benefit OBI or how does that benefit Nigeria? How is that a better situation from what we have currently? What's the difference between ATIKU and TINUBU? |
profmallor:So OBI should have just sat back and dashed ATIKU the presidency for whose benefit exactly? |
richmond500:SO because there's a possibility of Tinubu winning an election, so therefore it is stupid for OBI to exercise his right to contest? So if OBI hadn't contested and ATIKU won the election, how does that benefit OBI or Nigeria? What't the difference between TINUBU and ATIKU? OBI contested the election as the cleanest and best candidate and he put up an outstanding performance; it's not like he scored less than a million votes. He put up a very good performance and almost even won the election (that's if he didn't even win but was just cheated by the corrupt system). How can a person with such prospects be termed as "being stupid" for contesting? This has to be one of the most silly assertions I've come across since this election season. |
richmond500:Used to do what exactly? What's up with this widespread nonsensical logic about OBI being used? How does it benefit OBI or Nigeria if Atiku wins? Besides, in a country of over 90 million registered voters, the gap between OBI and TINUBU was just about 2.7 million; in other words, OBI almost even won the elections (that's if he didn't even win it and was just schemed out). A man with such electoral feat, a man who almost won the election, is that the person you're referring to as "being stupid" for daring to contest? |
If true, then Tinubu's own strategy almost swallowed him. After underrating OBI, I'm sure he must have been peeing on his pants seeing the level of unexpected momentum OBI gathered just before the election. Anyway, the Tribunal is still ongoing so it's too early to conclude; Tinubu might indeed have shot himself on the foot with his OBI gamble. |
favor914:Huh? Are you talking to me? |
Vinnie2000:On the second claim, all I tried to do was to deflate the widespread allusion that his tribe is the reason he keeps getting favoured. I feel that's a lazy conclusion especially when you consider that he gets these favours from everyone in power (regardless of tribe, ethnicity or religion). The truth which many have refused to accept is that there's something Dangote does bettter than his peers. |
Vinnie2000:IBB, Gen. Abdul-Salam, Sultan of Sokoto, etc controls Nigeria indeed! So they also controlled Obasanjo (their Oga) during Obasanjo's tenure? By the way, is Dangote the only Hausa businessman in Nigeria? How come all other Hausa businessmen aren't getting the same favours (since you claim it's because of his tribe)? How come Hausa businessmen like Abdul Rabiu (BUA Group) are also in line complaining about Dangote? |
Berrityga:This is a perfect example of the questionable reasoning pattern which Reno talked about and which made Dangote flee from the Niger Delta. Dangote isn't government; he isn't responsible for the oil spillage in the south and neither is he responsible for the unemployment, lack of roads hospitals, good schools etc which you complained about. Dangote is simply a businessman who needed a favourable environment to install one of the biggest single investments in Africa which would definitely uplift the economy of wherever it was sited. But unfortunately, people with your misplaced entitlement mentality chased him (and thousands of other investors) away. |
Vinnie2000:If it's a north vs south thing, why are other northern businessmen not getting the same priviledges from government? If its a nepotism thing, how come Dangote was favoured by northern, southern, eastern, western, Christian and Muslim leaders? Fact is, like you said, he's an astute businessman, a very shrewd one who knows how to curry favour from anyone. He's also very good at engaging in strategic investments; the kind of investments that'd make any govt in power lick his feet. Every businessman bribes, lobbies, schemes and kills to get favours from govt; how come this same man is always the one who wins, regardless of who's in power?.... We need to give it up for the man abeg and quit trying to rubbish his acumen with the "nepotism" or "he is favoured" narrative; he's clear ahead of his peers. |
VTJN:Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” You need to understand that the elder brother's problem is psychological; he might look all sane and sound, but the truth is, he doesn't know what he's doing. Even if he knows he isn't acting right, for some inexplicable reason, he's just powerless to change the situation. Such situations should be treated delicately. The Op seems to have exhausted his options on what he or the mum can do, but if he really loves his elder brother, the least he can do is to try and still accord him that respect, no matter how difficult it may be, cos disrespecting him would worsen his already terrible psychological state. |
IDnoble1:Landing cost only makes up a tiny fraction of the cost of petroleum products. Even if Dangote decided to sell at ZERO PROFIT (which we all know is impossible), the cost of petrol wouldn't still go below N300/litre. The only way the price can go lower is if the FG dashes Dangote free crude, or if it sells crude to Dangote at a SUBSIDISED rate (whic effectively is still subsidy). |
Must the bridge have a name? How many important bridges in Nigeria have a name?... The kind of senseless psycophancy we see amongst african politicians is disgusting. |
Lol.. Space stone has fallen into Ekiti... |
kingthreat:What's the meaning of the bolded?.... Are his daughters tadpoles? People who reason like this sometime I wonder what planet or century you guys are from. |
001Lagos:When was 2NB commissioned? |
What's Peter Obi's connection with Dangote refinery and why should Dangote not mentioning his name be an issue? Too many clowns in this country. |
CodeTemplar:Only consolation is that a major stumbling block sitting against the recovery of the Naira is retiring on the 29th; I'm quite confident the Naira will recover a bit after handover, and especially with the launching of this refinery. May be a gradual process but regardless of whoever takes over the helm, I predict the Naira recovering to around the N360-N400/$ level within a year. |
Tflex01:It's actually written in black and white in the Nigerian constitution, so the daft people cannot possibly be the ones who are just quoting the constitution as it is. On the contrary, the real daft ones are either the people who wrote the constitution and knowingly or inadvertently allocated special status to Abuja residents, or the ones who try to cleverly disregard or twist the interpretation of what's clearly written in plain English. |
