@ Sweet T where do you leave hausa women when u said yoruba and Igbo women alone are too bad, there are many incident that hausa man will post like eliha women and go into that hausa woman to fornicate but if they are caught is death. This thing happen Globally, not the matter of yoruba, hausa or Igbo women, in this case I'm not standing to be corrected I'm standing to be right.
You are very right!

I have SEEN an ibo woman who became pregnant for her husband who was away for months but when the man came back, we were all surprised to see him go annoyed with the woman publicly but accepted the pregnancy due to their tradition. Once a man pays a woman's dowry, anything tht comes out of her obviously or not belongs to him.

As I type now, I just walked out of a neighbouring scene where a delta man beat and accused his wife of unfaithfullness. . .So, self discipline is an individual thing both for male and female. . .its got nothing to do with tribe, race or nationality.

2.) live and let's live igbos they love everyone,.,.,., they are mostly found in lagos, abuja etc

now you have to ask you friend what he think about biafra to be able to categorise him/ her

if his respond is " i do not care we are brothers" or something along that line, then he is number 2

but if it is " you bloody yoruba/ hausa people are killers may they rot in hell" or something along that line then he is number 1

Excess Crude Oil Savings Account;Federal, state & local government in Nigeria share $1bn

The Federal Government, state and local governments in Nigeria are reported to have shared $1billion from the $4billion Excess Crude Account (ECA) in December 2010. An emergency meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) (which some newspapers claim was "shrouded in secrecy"wink, attended by the commissioners of finance and their accountants-general in the 36 states, was reportedly held on December 31, 2010.

The allocation was disbursed in US dollars and the Federal Government received $458.31million, the states received $232 million, and the local governments received $179 million. The oil-producing states also shared a balance of $130 million based on derivation - Bayelsa State received $47.1m, Akwa Ibom, $43.6m; Rivers, $40.6m; and Delta, $33.0m.

Kano, Lagos and Kaduna had the highest allocation for non-oil producing states:Kano state received $20m, Lagos state received $15m and Kaduna state received $15m.

Obviously, the NDs are their own problems.

Kobojunkie:

Again , Is English a problem there? undecided

Again, Lagos has a population almost 10 times of Bayelsa's. Bayelsa recieves, I believe more than 10 times of what Lagos gets from the Federal Government in Allocations. I don't see the rationale in claiming that Bayelsa is at some disadvantage in all this when it does not have the population burden Lagos has, and it does not have to borrow money to take care of it's business.

Yes, the state, and Local Government have a role in all this, but Jonathan was once part of that himself and did not see fit, apparently, to change the trend at the state level. Ofcourse it concerns people still that a man who was unable to perform much at the state level, helped hand his state over to PDP when he was eventually elected at the national level,  has the audacity to call other state Governor's, rascals, maybe because they would rather not vote him, given his record of non-performance(More talk and not much game to back up the talk).

I feel your points
Leave those guyz to keep arguing with the air. . .this is one reason the state wont get better cos their pple keeps blaming FG instead of their leaders.

Politics / Ojukwu’s Survival, A Miracle —bianca by oludashmi(f): 10:33am On Feb 11, 2011
The wife of the ailing national leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, has described the survival of her husband, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, as a miracle.

Bianca, who spoke at the national convention of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Awka, the Anambra State capital on Thursday, said what she saw in Enugu and London proved to her that but for the prayers of Nigerians, her husband would long have been dead

She said all the patients Ojukwu met at the intensive care unit of the London hospital died within one week of his admission. She also recalled that the six patients her husband met at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu ward, where he was admitted, died before he was taken away to London.

“His life today is nothing short of a miracle. I would like to share this with you. It is said that God’s mercy shall never remain hidden.

“By the time he left Nigeria, he was in the intensive care unit of UNTH. By the time he got there, there were six other patients in the ward. But by the time he left, he was the only one surviving.

“Similarly, upon arrival in London, with their excellent facilities, he was also transported to the critical care unit of the hospital. On the day we got in, on the 23rd of December, there were seven other patients in that intensive care unit.

“By the first of January, on New Year’s Day, he remained the only surviving patient. Praise be to God. I attribute his miracle to your continued prayers. And I urge you all the beloved members of his party to continue to remember him in their prayers as we hope that in no distant time, he will back here with his people,” she stated.

How much really is human life worth in good ol' western Nigeria? Every flimsy thing leads to death.

Where in the story were the ekitis referred to as bush pple or you are just saying that due to envy?

Oh! cos two pple died in a riot in a whole western Nigeria, you ask how much is human life worth. . . .ok, the kidnappings in the SE due to greed for over 2 years now has claimed an unaccountable number of lives and properties which should bother you.

The jos, bornu and bauchi crisis' have claimed more than 5000 lives and as for properties, the media, SSS and police force have not been able to gather a figure for it.

You should take a proper look at kidnapping and killing issues cos even though they claim to be calm, they are still on going under-ground. Leave a riot that claimed 2 pple and has been settled and forgotten immediately.

This is a chance for most of you berating GEJ to know the meaning of "Rascal"

Rascal (noun)
"a mischievous or cheeky person, especially a child or man
(typically used in an affectionate way)."

GEJ used it in the above context unless Nairalanders have their own dictionary.

P.S
For those who can't afford a dictionary, there's a free online dictionary   here.

Are you stu*pid is a question in the dictionary but an insult in naija, even in france, "tu es bete?/are you stu*pid" can be serious. So you see the statement goes beyond a literary meaning.

You must be quoting your definition from the nursery school rhymes

Politics / Bayelsa Tops Nigeria’s Unemployment Chart by oludashmi(f): 12:36pm On Feb 10, 2011
The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) disclosed, on Wednesday, that Bayelsa State topped Nigeria’s unemployment chart, adding that the statistics made available by the Federal Office of Statistics showed that the state had the highest number of unemployed skilled and unskilled labourers across the country.

This is just as over 5,000 students of Bayelsa State origin and members of the National Association of Niger Delta Students (NANDS) adopted the ACN gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming election.

Speaking, while receiving the visiting members of the NANDS, a retired permanent secretary and the gubernatorial candidate of the ACN, in the state, Mr Imoro Kubor expressed concern over the geometric increase in unemployment rate and what he described as acute poverty.

Attributing it to leadership problem, Mr Kubor, said the state had all it took to make life more meaningful to its entire citizenry, saying, “I decided to venture into politics in order to change the tide of events in the state.”

Governance, according to him, was all about service delivery, saying that it was saddening to note that government in Bayelsa State, only exists on the pages of newspapers.

His submission, “Bayelsa State is made up of eight local governments, but government exists only in Yenagoa city, while other local government areas were being margina-lised.

“Rather than embarking on meaningful development projects, the leadership of the state are busy globe-trotting at the detriment of down-trodden masses.”

The PDP versus the ACN

Explaining that elections are meant to be won by men of integrity, Mr Fashola urged Nigerians not to vote based on sentiments, adding that he made to the office of the governor based on upright manifestos of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). “Elections cannot be won by resulting to derogatory language, by claiming luck,” he said. “Elections require those who seek elective office to focus on the people over whom they plan to exercise authority and to communicate to them in a very clear and practical manner how you intend to improve their lot. Look, I think that the PDP led federal government has a lot of questions to answer in Lagos and it is interesting that these remarks are being made from outside Lagos. So I hope that when they come here, they will be able to call us rascals again; and if we are rascals, it means that some of the other governors he has been presiding over is a republic of rascals.”

Comparing the achievements of the ACN with those of the PDP in the state, the governor said that the later failed in the delivery of the dividends of democracy. “They spent ten years trying to build a 400m bridge in Otta; and on the day that they finally came to open that bridge, instead of apologizing to Lagosians, they were fighting themselves about who was to cut the tape,” he said. “Meanwhile the road that leads to the bridge is not finished. We built Okota link bridge in 18months and it is longer than that bridge over which they were fighting. So that is what we expect them to come and talk about. Apapa-Oshodi-Oworonshoki Expressway is their road and it is pothole ridden, the road to the biggest airport in this country. This is a national embarrassment.”

Plus Benin-ore is their road and they keep passing it into motion and spending unseen budgets in it
GEJ is just disgracing PDP the more

Mind you, political naivety is exactly the equivalent of innocence. Fashola should admit that he is a vine among thorns, only his personal political will has set him apart from the dictators on his street. I hope they don't come back to twist his arms beyond his measure in the next four years. (Lekki toll awaits him.)
I dont think anyone is justifying Fashola for lekki tolls but thats is not the topic at hand but the statement of GEJ as a president (very derogatory). . .we can discuss Lekki tolls at another thread.
