So the best way to solve the area boy problem is to legitimaize their rascality. You mean empowering them to intimidate innocent citizens is gainful employment. I really don't know whether you had come to Lagos during Marwa's tenure. You will understand that your have no excuses or defense for thuggery.
And how does a tax collector or NURTW toll collector intimidate citizens? Do they harrass you with guns like your police?

You talk about Marwa's tenure but thank God many of us were not brought to Lagos like you, you would have given us baseless stories.

Let me school you a bit . . .
Marwa was a military man
He used his power like a soldier
He did well in terms or roads, security and a few infrastructure and Lagosians loved him for that
He was unable to cub the touty thing cos as soldiers arrested agberos, they released them within few hrs and they would be back to their bus stops
Oshodi, Mushin and Lagos environs remained what they used to be even as Tinubu took over
Fashola came without a gun but a vision not to keep arresting the pple but to get them engaged
Fashola would not arrest touts for in-habiting a particular place but will suddenly beautify the place with flowers or construct a road network and touts will disperse as development came closer

Marwa used military power also known as force but Fashola used diplomacy
Yar'Adua was able to calm the militants cos he used diplomacy and not force.

Dont compare Fashola and Marwa together, they are two different species of leadership and achievements.

As for the president, I cant blame him, he has the same english language prob like his wife. They both need private tutors.

Fashola gave him the right reply. . .GEJ is just running his mouth anyhow cos he got to that position on the platter of luck.

But indeed GEJ is right on the spot that Action Group (I forgot that they have upgraded to Action Congress + Nigeria) is a bunch of rascals masquerading as pseudo-progressives and dictators parading themselves as elders.
PDP has shown itself to be a MORE democratic establishment catering to diverse and divergent views through electoral primaries as evidence of its internal structural democratic values and obedience to court orders under GEJ's watch.

What do we have in Action Group (sorry again, Action Congress + Nigeria)? A group of geriatrics playing tingods and led by an Ashiwaju of Area Boys and Thug-in-Chief Ojuyobo who has imposed close and distant family members on the docile mass of people that makes up his party followers.

Btw, I hope all those posting on this thread know ALL candidates seeking office as State and National Assembly legilators.

First of all, did you forget to put your RSVP campaign here today? If the above is your comment to the topic, then you are as ret*arded as your GEJ president you have been campaigning for. Next time you want to place your RSVP campaign, remember to make it clear that pple should go vote for your slow poke man.

You claim to forget that AC is now ACN yet you kept typing Action Congress + Nigeria. . .infact you are worse than GEJ. If ashiwaju is ojuyobo, rascal and whatever you call him again AND his partiespretty good, wouldnt you inform the governor of your state to become as rascal as he is so you could experience true governance.

throwing your question back to you, "I hope you know ALL candidates seeking office as State and National Assembly legilators" and what campaign format do you have for us about them and how does that relate to the thread?

Obiagu1:

Just like Dapo, in Igbo it should be Da"kp"o while in Yoruba, it is Dapo. Like I said, it is a proper noun and no one is at a liberty to write what suits him because the person that bears the name will reject it.
Just like we can't write Dakpo and expect one Dapo to give you a hand shake, so Igbos will not accept Ibo.

My brothers and Sisters, Igbo is a proper noun and you can't change that!
@boldened
Thanks for clarifying it to excanny.

@excanny
You cant teach me my alphabet
The 'p' in Yoruba pronunciation does not carry a 'k' both in writing and pronunciation.

@Andre
Is it so difficult for you at your age to reply to a post without cursing or insulting? I tire oo.
An Abia bred colleague has NEVER referred herself to as igbo but ibo ALL the time.
IMO, you cant blame any none igbo for calling you ibo cos they heard it from your pple who gladly say they are ibo.
I only notice this igbo stuff on NL too, yet some NLers still accept ibo, even on this thread. So you can see its got to do with your pple.

Abagworo:

@obiagu.You have finally understood my point.Maybe the I.B.O. spelling makes them pronounce it wrongly just like Dapo is spelled D.A.P.O. but pronounced Dakpo or Your San Hose example.

@boldened
You are right that Dapo is written that way but wrong that it is pronounced as Dakpo. . .we pronounce the same way we write. If it was pronounced as Dakpo, then the spelling would have been D.a.k.p.o.

I think the 'k' you included is from the igbo alphabet/pronunciation cos I remember an igbo friend who wanted to write 'Pelumi' but wrote 'Kpelumi', another friend wrote 'Kponmo' instead on 'Ponmo'. . .when corrected, they both said they thought it is the right spelling cos they spelt it in an ibo way. All the same, if you call someone, Kpelumi, she will answer but will never accept it as a spelling of her name. smiley

@topic
I have asked ibos/igbos this same question but their answers have always differed. Someone even said the pple are igbo while the language is ibo undecided. So I just call whatever comes to my mouth.

Anyway just take note of the following as you proceed with him:
Your so called beauty (without intelligence) will become a history
You will soon go on sleepless nights
Tears will soon become a normal thing to you
You will forever hate marriage (if you later get married) although your marriage wont last 5yrs
Your dreams will suddenly become imaginations
The beautiful, independent, sufficient, gravely loving, self-deceived and unintelligent lady will soon be dining with her fore fathers.

It doesnt matter to me if the SE holds the senate president seat, as long as they dont produce 3 senate presidents in GEJ's coming term

Cos between 1999 and 2007 (OBJ's regime) they produced 5 senate presidents

Evan Enwerem  1999 - 1999

Chuba Okadigbo  1999–2000

Pius Anyim  2000–2003

Adolphus Wabara  2003–2005

Ken Nnamani  2005–2007

2 PDP national chairman - Vincent and Nwodo (and still counting) in 4 years

While Yar'Adua/GEJ tenure. . . we have only David Mark as senate president (Idoma)

Indeed . Two things are in play here. Madam herself , because she lacks sophistication and grace , will typically insist that " I go talk and dem go listen because na me be first lady" . Of course her sycophantic handlers dare not disagree . In contrast, the handlers of Cameron (UK PM) can tell him that his wife is a liability as a public speaker and the prime Minister will concur because he must defer to the opinion of experts who manage image. Sadly , as regards politics, we dont do things in a sane way in Nigeria . A semi-illiterate Senator , only in his position through patronage, can shout down a technocrat anytime anyday in Nigeria to applause from an entirely sycophantic crowd .

All we see in Nigeria is indicative of how the patronage system , rather than appointment on merit, has gotten so bad that undeserving folks now routinely represent us in powerful/visible positions to the detriment of our nation. Jonathan himself admits he is not the best man to be President . Even if Patience Jonathan is completely illiterate we can all still accomodate her if she too will be gracious and selfless enough to do what is best for Nigeria. it is not by force for a first Lady to keep confronting the media in a language she is not profficient in . Even more laughable when that language happens to be the official language of her nation.
What else do I say? wink

You will need to do more online search, talk to pple one-on-one (you may not disclose your intention) and you could devote a month to work in an husbandry for a little pay or without pay, just for you to achieve your goal.

Good morning all. I have been on nairaland since late 2009, I have read stories that touches the heart. I have criticized, played, adviced but was carrying a burden in my heart. I knew all along I needed to pour out my heart to someone but who is that soul that will not castigate me? That will not look at me like I killed Jesus the next time we run into each other? That will not tell a best friend who will in turn tell a best friend and the chain continues till it comes back to me and eventually my family? I might have done silly things but I am not silly. Just pouring out my heart here have help me build the courage I need to pull myself out of this. My heart feels lighter and my inside being has received peace. I have read through all the comments and I will say, God bless you all. The critisisms, the advices, the curses, they have all helped to shake me up. My resolve now is stronger that ever before. I am not so sure of leaving my sisters house cos I alone know my family, but I am resolute on telling my inlaw the pain I have had to endure even if it might seem pleasurable. Yes I have feelings for him but I can fight and will fight it. Remember you cant help who you fall in love with. He has to know  I cannot live like this any more else my mother will hear it. For those doubting me, its your choice but pray you dont find urself in a helpless state. You might not see it coming.

I didnt want to reply to this post at all but the boldened annoys me. . .
Saying pple should pray not to find themselves in a state of screwing their brother in-laws or living a doggery life means you are still trying to hide under a shield and thinking it wasnt your fault.

Go ahead and sleep with them afterall it makes no difference
they have already seen your unclothedness
they have already used your azz beyond the way your husband will use it
you have already lost your dignity
they know you are a dirty sex alternative whenever your sisters say NO to them on bed. . .
you are in love with one of them such that nothin can part you, its pleasurable like you stated above. .go on, go on
