Of course, you have said the churches preach, but since they don't preach in your own methods, then it doesn't really count.

Let's go back to the questions. Please keep it simple this time. Bring out your point one after another.

1a. So if other Christian religion don't preach, how do they make new convert? You have not responded to that.

1b. Secondly, for religion that started in the 1800s, to still hover around 8 million today, how effective is the preaching of Jws? (note, it would only be effective if the growth rate is commensurate with the house you spend to make a new convert) so, in other words, my question is, how many hours do Jws spend to make a new convert?

1c. Thirdly, over the past 1800 years, how has the Bible message on faith and beliefs on Jesus been transferred to our time, with people embracing that faith since they were no JWs over that period to preach?

1d. Fourthly and importantly, which scripture support the idea that each individual Christian must preach, without which, there is no salvation? (cite them)

Please, while responding, be careful about your confirmation bias. It really evident in the way you use quoted scriptures to support your writeup. An example is on how you apply 1 Ti 4:16. The context reveals that the teaching, saving oneself and those who listen to him is in relation to the teachings that goes on within the church or the christian congregation. But as a result of your confirmation bias and the need to use the quoted scriptures to support that each Christian must preach to get save, your have brought in the word preach (subconsciously, without seeing the switch your mind has done), then teach and saving oneself and others.

But the Irony is, through the first letter to Timothy, the apostle Paul in nowhere indicated the need for him to preach outside the congregation or to preach house to house to the need for the members of the congregation to preach house to house.

So while giving your next response, don't allow your confirmation bias to make you manipulate the scriptures to fit with with arguments.

JWs are very well informed about the best practices in bloodless surgery & up to date trends in effective blood management. We are in constant touch with the medical community & health professionals, we interact with them & make sure they know how to care for us.
In the process , they have gained vital info which increases their professional expertise.
This benefits not only JWs but others too. These days well informed non jws even demand non blood surgery & treatment.

Besides, JWs are well organized & every JW knows what to do in an emergency.

Men get molested, and we hide it because it's either unbelievable or sounds ridiculous. My life as a kid until adulthood wasn't funny at all. First, it was the neighbor's housemaid, I was about 7 at that time and my parents were busy with work so I had to stay at my neighbor's house after school till our house maid is back from school. One day I went there, the maid called me into the kid's room and took away my clothes, made me lay down and did things I didn't understand as a child. I guess this made her believe me, so I had to wait in school then.

So my Lil bro asked me to go get the toy for him and I refused so he started crying, I couldn't tell him what was going on. He was very little at that time and wanted his toy, so I agreed to go, but my plan was to take the toy and fight with my friend if he tried anything stupid , so I went with my brother (my friend lives across the street) but when we got there he insisted I come in alone or he won't give it to me. My brother was like okay I'm going home . So I went in and he locked the door, I asked him for the toy and he said he won't give it to me unless I let him touch me again, I said no!!! And headed for the door, he grabbed me and pushed me to the chair I tried pushing him off but he was very much stronger than I was. Long story short,

Then again 3 years ago I was raped by my church group leader! I won't mention the church. This woman is married and older than my own mother! All her 3 kids are schooling in the UK! Her husband is a manager in one of the top oil companies ( Name withheld). At my workplace, I was working in the customer care sector and meet clients daily. So I started worshipping at her church, so one day she invited me to her house fellowship and I went, after the fellowship she asked me to wait behind so I could help her tidy the place and I did before I left she gave me 4k for TP, I refused but she insisted so I took it. I kept going for house fellowship every week and she always gave me TP (4k, 6k, 10k). Every time I asked her why she gave me so much just for transport, she will say she's encouraging me because she knew I wasn't earning much.
So one day I went for house fellowship, as usual, I stayed behind to arrange the place, then took the plates to the kitchen. I noticed someone walk into the kitchen and turned off the light I was like, ma did you off the light? She said yes. I said okay... But I'm still using it, she didn't answer me and kept walking close to me then suddenly hugged me. I just stood, and was like ma is there any problem, she said no! And kept hugging me. After a while she let me go and I rushed off the kitchen and started gathering my stuff to go home. But when I wanted to open the door, I noticed it was locked! I searched for the keys and it wasn't where it supposed to be. I started calling for her and told her I couldn't find the keys, she said she kept it in her daughter's room I should go there and take it. I went there to look for it but couldn't find the keys, so I told her and she said she's coming to get it but she didn't come out, she was inside her room and refused to answer me. I stood there thinking of what to do next, then my girlfriend started calling me! I told her I just left the fellowship and she was shouting at me that it's almost 11 pm and I'm not back yet, I pleaded with her that we had a meeting blah blah blah. I ended the calling and started calling madam to come open her door let me go home for christ sake. The woman no gree, I called my roommate and told him the situation of things and he told me not to worry, I shouldn't answer my girlfriends call again, he will call her and tell her my phone was stolen and they beat me up but I'm home sleeping.
I was there waiting in the sitting room till past twelve before she opened the door almost unclad and was smiling at me. At this moment I was already angry asked her to open the door let me go and she started shouting at me before I knew it she slapped me! And my body went cold instantly. She said I should forget about going home today except I do what she says. Then the next minute she started begging me that she's sorry, she's lonely and needed someone to talk to. I couldn't say anything, as she was begging her hands were already going inside my Jeans. I was like Ma please I beg you in the name of God please stop let me go. I started preaching to her that she's married and this is evil the woman stood up and started crying that she's sorry it's the devil's hand work.
At that point, I thought everything was fine but I need to leave immediately! She told me the key is in her child's room and where to get it. I didn't trust going into that room alone, but I went anyway, the key wasn't where she said it was. And I as I was about leaving the room to go tell her, she's already at the door, then walked in and closed the door. She told me I can't go, and she hasn't had sex in a long time, so If I don't want her to tell her husband I raped her I should allow her do what she wants or she will call her husband and scream on the phone.
My eyes flashed before my eyes again, I tried talking to her again and she started calling him on the phone and put it on speaker phone so I can see she's not playing about it. I thought of going to prison and losing my job and worse ending up in the news. Then I accepted on the condition we use protection, she already had everything with her, even a lubricant! Then I knew she planned the whole thing. The sad truth is at that time I was still a virgin and never had sex with a woman.

Again sorry for the long post, but before you ask what's the name of this movie I really don't care if you believe it or not! And if you think it has no physiological effect then you're very wrong. Are transfusions equivalent to eating blood?


The whole position of the Jehovah's Witnesses hinges on the assertion that blood transfusions are just another form of eating blood. They contend straightforwardly that you are still sustaining yourself by putting another living thing's blood in your body. The fact that you are not doing this through the digestive system is mere semantic quibbling. When someone cannot eat due to illness or injury, we feed them intravenously, so how is this really any different? They reinforce this with analogies like that of a man whose doctor tells him to abstain from alcohol. Would it be okay for the man to stop drinking, but to inject alcohol directly into his veins? In this way they attempt to show that, behind the apparent differences, eating blood and receiving a blood transfusion are in fact variations of the same thing.
Medically this is not at all the case. If you eat blood, you break it down into nutrients, which your body then uses. What makes it to your own blood stream is not blood at all. It has been completely broken down like any other food. That is what eating something is. Jesus Himself speaks of eating in Mark 7:19 specifically and necessarily as "what goes into the stomach and is eliminated" (or literally, "passed out into the latrine".

A transfusion is quite different. The blood stays blood. It does not nourish you. It does what your blood does. It carries oxygen that your body receives from your lungs and nutrients that your body receives from food and takes them throughout your body, but the blood does not provide you anything from itself. In this way, it is different even from "feeding" through an IV, which puts simple nutrients straight into your blood to be carried about and used. Notice that even this kind of "feeding" is not actually food at all, but rather substitutes what food would normally provide for you.

You could not liquefy chicken, spinach, or carrots and inject them into your veins. That would kill you. Food needs to be digested. That's what it means to eat. Intravenous "feeding" is not really feeding at all, but a temporary substitute for feeding. How much less, then, can a blood transfusion be considered eating, which does not even so much as a substitute for eating at all! For all these reasons, medically speaking, eating blood and transfusing blood are not remotely the same thing.

They are not the same thing by intent either. The alcoholic in the Jehovah's Witness' example, who tries to get around his doctor's orders by injecting alcohol into his veins, is attempting to accomplish the same thing as drinking the alcohol. This past week, I went to see a friend who had about 7 separate blood transfusions within the 2 months he spent at the hospital due to severe loss of blood.
In our discussion which spanned about 2hrs, he told me he feels like he has about 7 multiple people living inside of him since the series of blood transfusions.

Knowing him as a moderate Christian, I couldn't exactly comprehend how possible this could be and I tried arguing with him how impossible it sounds and from the scientific point of view, but he stood his ground and pointed to me how much he has changed which scares him.
He mentioned some character changes he noticed since the blood transfusions which he suspects could be picked up from the blood donors were smoking ( a habit he detests with passion, but suddenly developed a compelling urge to smoke since the transfusions), using swear words and gutter languages which he would never use before, suddenly developed interest in Man utd and the premiership. These and about 4 other character traits he mentioned.

I decided to create a thread to seek opinions from the scientific and religious view point.

First & foremost, life & blood is sacred to God. Blood is blood, whether human blood or animal blood, it serves the same functions & purposes. The same law & principles applies to them.

Serena never needed blood transfusion, and her medical complications had nothing to do with blood transfusion.
It's open knowledge that Serena has always suffered from blood clots. Some people have that condition, and are at risk of having clots formed in their vessels which can block major veins in the legs, which can be easily dislodged and go staright to one of the biggest vessels in the lungs, and depending on the major vein blocked, can lead to instant death atimes.
She never at any point needed to be transfused.
She is on blood thinners, for life as it is.
Sickness or diseases don't care if you're rich/poor, or black/white, JW/atheist.
Serena's problems after pregnancy had nothing to do with her JW beliefs. No correlation at all.
She has had blood clots in her lungs in the past, she had a caesarean (major operation) which equally puts her at risk of same clots, she was also pregnant ( a hypercoagulable state) and another strong risk factor for clots.
She had a lot of risk factors for developing clots and these all have nothing to do with her beliefs.
Her wound also broke down, and she had to be taken back into theatre to restitch it.
Again, nothing to do with blood transfusion, but a documented complication of surgery which does happen to a lot of women post C sec worldwide in both developed and undeveloped countries
Should she have been offered transfusion if she didn't need it?
I'm not a JW, I don't believe in their doctrine but I understand the power of choice. If they chose to die for their beliefs, good for them, provided they are not children or mentally incapacitated. It's their choice to take a medical treatment or to refuse it.
I know people who have refused chemotherapy for their cancers. It's their choice.
Drs don't rush to tranfuse unless you absolutely need it.
