I am allergic to quinine but last year I went to Nigeria and when I got back turned out I had malaria. The doctors knew I was allergic to quinine but because I was already in bad shape when I got to the hospital they decided to go with quinine but gave me benadryl before. I did not itch for the 1 week plus I was on quinine. Who knew that just simple benadryl would stop that ungodly itching |
Osisi are you serious. What good would it do to hold back a child from seeing a parent because the parent was unfaithful. We are not talking about a criminal here. She is the child's mother and she should not have to come to her estranged ex mother in laws house for them to bond. I am sure by now the girl knows that they are keeping her away from her mother. If he decides to be a hard head about this it might come back to bite him n the butt. That is the truth. The woman is now married again so she too has moved on. Many unfaithful people raise chldren everyday. I have never heard where this was a reason to deny the parent access to a child. |
hotstuff06:It is the same. Men can be under the influence of "good head". |
Then use the extra absorbency ones and then use a liner. I always use a liner regardless of if it is a heavy or light. |
That story just seems so unbelievable to me. Why would a mother go to her pastor because the baby dd not want to breastfeed. Do people run to their pastors for every silly thing. Even if the baby said he will never suck breast again couldn't she give the baby a bottle?? Story if just not believable. |
TRACK:Oh boy. And you are arguing about the intelligence of a man ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Lexiwhite what is your definition of "thrive". If you say women stayed in marriages regardless of how bad it was then I can agree. If you say the man could marry as many wives as possible and wife one had little or no say about it then I can agree. I believe that most women endured their husbands not enjoyed them. Children was were women focused their attention and simply "got their reward". I don't know about thriving when you consider what marriage means traditionally. |
techgurl:LOL. Sorry I just had to laugh |
In as much as I know that some parents can be poisonous you will only hurt your relationship with your daughter by interfering in her relationship with her mother. Your daughter is 13 so I can see why being around her mother might mean more to her now. She is a teenager and has many questions that she might not feel comfortable coming to you or your wife with. She needs her mother more than ever now. Since you pretty much raised her you need not worry too much that she will turn into a jezebel overnight. |
Sadgirl I think your biggest problem is thinking you are worthless. I sense that from this thread and your other thread. How many women do you honestly think model on the beach. Even if you had what you think is the perfect body when would you have the time to wear thong and sashay on the beach. You are being unreasonably hard on yourself. This guy was a dog but he smelled the desperation in you and because he is who he s he latched on to that and he broke your heart. You teach people how to treat you so next time if a man treats you wrong you respond by moving on or he will keep doing it. He could not have left you because of the scars because they were there when he met you. Please love yourself or no one can truly love you. Everybody deals with body image issues and though I know that you have those scars they do not define who you are. Halle Berry is beautiful but she has a track record of picking the wrong men to love. She's been married twice and an ex boyfriend knocked 70% of her hearing out of one ear. She had a husband who basically made crap money but yet with a beautiful and rich woman like that he still cheated on her over and over and over again. If you do not learn to love and honor yourself these losers will be drawn to you. I wish you luck. Don't even entertain the thought of suicide. Be excited about reinventing yourself. Write a list of things you want to do or you think you can do for yourself to make you happy. Even if it as simple as memorizing an encouraging bible passage or trying a different hair stlye or even making sure you say hi with a smile to 10 people that you come across today. Take it easy my sister. It is not the end of the world. |
I think african marriages are very unique in many ways. We have unique issues that the average marital counsellor cannot really relate to or have experience with. Also a lot of elderly Africans give very bad advice and in many cases have led to women being slaughtered by their husbands. There is this man called Femi Awodele. I have read some of his books and I suggest that any Nigerian planning to marry should attend his seminars. His teachings are from a Christian African perspective. He and his wife founded christian couple fellowship. I think the website is christiancouplefellowship.org. Even if you do not believe everything he says you can learn a whole lot from him. Attend their singles conventions. I think they just had one or are going to. The one thing I can tell women is to be conscious about everything about him. The way his family relates with you and how he relates with you when it comes to his family. One of the biggest issues a woman will face in an African marriage is in laws. If your husband can deal with his family then you have no wahala in that area. A man can only pretend for so long. That is why you do not need to rush into marriage. It does not matter if you are 29 years 11 months and 29 days old. Forever is a very long time. |
I wanted to laugh at first but with everybody saying it it seems scary. I always have all 10 of my eyes open wide when I am out with my boys but I am usually more suspicious of men. I know my cousin sent one of her house helps packing for kissing her son. He was a little more than a baby them. I hope she did not do more than kiss him. |
Unless there are serious trust issues I cannot see why this should even be a question |
Kobujunkie you can write two testaments if that is what suits you. They are already in office and I am saying yes to all of you that keep asking if our governors need to be educated on how to be governors. They have no clue. We had a lot of hope for Oshiomole but it is clear now that he has realized what it takes to do this job and do it well. All of you have shit on this as a STUPID idea but no one has said what can we do to help the failing governors now. In fact the original article says the governors cannot govern to save their lives but went on to say they need to go ahead and do their jobs which is to govern. Please stop saying our leaders know what to do. They have no clue. |
Kobojunkie you really are talking out of your ass. Yar'Adua is highly educated and I am assuming so is Fashola. Your 20 pages you just wrote up there was based on your silly assumptions. You did not answer the question on the last time you went to Nigeria. You just do not get it. Of course we are probably the most educated and what has that got us. I am sure that the classes they are going to take is not what they teach to the average university student. It was created specifically for them. So if your only issue is that they have to travel to the US for this so we should not even consider it as part of the solution then you are simply being small minded. You do not have to write and epistle to see that. Is it possible to teach the course in Nigeria? I do not know and I do not care. Who do you suggest will be a good mentor to these governors in such a corrupt and morally bankrupt society. You can read all you want to on CNN or BBC or maybe even Nigerian newspapers. What is on the ground is a completely different story. The way of thinking of the average Nigerian has to be rewired. infobox:I guess this is where I get frustrated with you guys. Sure they can use the money to build a small hospital, upgrade one school, build one road etc. That is not the big picture. When you help them be better governors then all these other things fall in place. The way we typically run things in Nigeria is backward and archaic to say the least. We need a complete change. Not some change but overhauling of the whole damn system. Anything short of that would not be enough. |
When was the last time you went to Nigeria. What is common sense for some has to be taught to others. Go to Nigeria. Most of our problems are common sense problems. If they have to go somewhere else to change their way of thinking then I honestly do not care. Most of them probably spend more than that to cure a cough by flying to a foreign country. By the way what is Fashola's educational background and previous work experience |
asha 80:Why are you so stuck on the harvard part ? Do you have a better solution. What is wrong in the acquisition of knowledge. Our governors need to be enlightened. If part of that solution comes from Harvard then who gives a rat's ass. |
loyeruope:Why would you think I was kidding. I am dead ass serious. Why are you guys so anti this initiative and don't give me the lame excuses that it is a foreign concept or that Nigeria always fails at everything. |
I am sort of surprised that the responses. What is so wrong about this. They have tried a lot of things but always fell flat on their faces. Is this just a case of not expecting much from a place like Nigeria or simply that we should stick with what we are doing and keep fasting and praying for things to change. |
hackney:Really? You want to talk exact science. Men have larger brains but women have more connectons within the brain. In other words men have bigger brains but women's brains work better . As for the one that said that men are superior because they have joysticks and we have vagina's nothing to say except that I have never a seen a dick that has told a woman what to do but I have seen vagina's from the beginning of time (from Adam to David) that can tell a man when to eat, when to sleep and how to make critical decisions. Y'all need to get over it. There is no power bigger than the power of the vagina. Ask Adam and King David. |
If you guys are fighting all the time over it then you need to have to do it. It makes no sense fighting with a man that you are not even in a relationship with. Child support is not punishment. That is his responsibility. |
Please do not forget to ask. I am sure she will be waiting anxiously. |
We are the children of Uniben Uniben Uniben We are the children of Uniben staff school We are the children of Uniben Uniben Uniben We are the children of Uniben staff school Knowledge for service is our aim Knowledge for service is our aim Our heavenly father will help us to achieve our aim |
Hehehehe completely missed that |
So she is working 45 hours a week and sharing the house with three adults and you guys do not feel that they should consider that? I am going to assume that this original poster is not Nigerian. My advice to you is that you should move out and make sure that you do not leave with your name on the lease. Do not plan your future with someone who makes such financial decisions. How old is the mother and her boyfriend. Are they too old to work? If not then you are signing yourself up for more trouble. |
Sounds very convenient and easy to hide if you were walking from your desk to the bathroom. I wonder though about germs. I admit I am a little bit germophobic. I assume that it expands to how heavy or light your flow is abi. That way you do not have to buy the multi pack ones with different sizes. |
I sell the ones I posted. My website will not be up until the end of June. Are you here in the states. |
So you just push those up with your finger? |
You simply have to tell him. It seems though that your bed wetting might be tied to anxiety. I think if you talk to him and deal with the shame you feel that it will help |
His she halso taller than you hif so then that his were the real problem lies. |
Elisabeth you just did not use wisdom. How could you sell your house. Cut your losses. There is nothing you can do. Let him go. I believe you. I do not need to hear the other side of the story but you lost this one. Life goes on. |

No that is not right, Abeg, i don't ask right after, its not like he can't think because it turns his head, its different from asking a drunk person who is under the influence. I ask later in the day or whenever i feel the time is right. Sometimes, I don't even ask for anything or expect anything in return, he reminds me of what I asked before and tells me gives me a positive answer or he does whatever he knows i want. And even if is it under duress, he his my husband,, i can do whatever lol
