Valkrie: Yeah the guy is doing a very good job for them in Kaduna..killing the natives and renaming and occupying their villages with fulani people...They want him to help them extend the same gesture to other part of the country asap to meet their target... If it's going to be El-Rufai/APC Vs Atiku/PDP in 2023, the APC may be defeated because Atiku will share Northern votes with him and he is more acceptable to Christians than El-Rufai. In the S/West, many people will feel that the APC betray the Region, hence will vote against the party. The SS/SE is already a PDP stronghold. |

Abdul05: Tinubu 's talk has now become a baffling problem to the igbos, and it is because most of them live with the yorubas. They are completely lost. They have no home, no region, and no political leaders . What a shame Many of them now live in Lagos and are part of the population of Lagos so they are exercise their rights to participate in the Politics of Lagos. That being said, their attempts to demonize Tinubu who they consider their greatest obstacle to their dream of changing the political structures of Lagos often with tribal colouration will boomerang. |

lucasalves: Pointing what out to who? Act like you are not living in this same country where definition on paper is actually different from reality on ground.
There are legit NURTW member looking for nothing more than their daily bread and at the same time the leadership has fostered the existence of the "Agberos" sect amongst their ranks.... look up what happened with Governor Makinde and the NURTW then come back here and make informed argument not definition of organizations lifted off Google. Good morning bro. You see when will look at things from a superficial level, we may not fully grasp what is happening. 1) Who are the people will call Agberos? From where do they derive the powers to call passengers for commercial vehicles and demand a cut from the fares collected sometimes in very rough ways? 2) Do these 'Agberos' just pocket all the money collected from the drivers or they have some people they give returns to? 3) How do people become 'Agberos'? Can any youth just wake up one morning, stroll to a motorpark and start demanding a cut from the Transport fares? Let's try to answer these questions (as civil as possible). It will help us to understand how certain members of the union operate. |

lucasalves: What does that even mean? Zee world?? And this is the best comeback you got with all your education Wow this country na wa ooo... You see the NURTW is a union of Drivers, Conductors, Owners of commercial vehicles and an amorphous group that consist of 'retired' drivers and unemployed drivers, non-technical staff like 'secretaries, Union task force members (Olopa Egbe) often labeled as 'Agbero' when they go outside their mandates etc. The union collect levies to pay taxes to LGAs where they operate, maintain motor parks, pay workers of the union, remit money to State/National Secretariats, pay the Excos and some money are used to pay certain 'retired' officials and drivers/members who are unable to find jobs at a point in time (an informal form of insurance). Certain amount of the money are also used to 'settle Police against harrassment of members'. The more educated, exposed and well connected members of the NURTW formed the NURTW Cooperative which give loans to members and they borrowed money from banks to buy BRT buses, having gotten concession from LASG to exclusively ply certain routes. On face values, these are most of the functions of the union. However in practice, the system is often abused and especially in the South where it is often frought with violence such that only those with maximum capacity for violence & disorderliness get these benefits. |

On a more serious note, I am not interested in exchanging insults with you or anyone (it's very unlike me). However, I only wanted to point out the error in your assumption (a very common one here on Nairaland) about the NURTW. Many people here don't know anything about the union and wrongly assume it's just an association of thugs. Try to read about them and you will appreciate their contributions to the economy. Rugaria: Something has to be done! The taunts from the ikwerres and some section of the ijaws since the end of the war has to stop! It must stop! Part of the reason charlatans like Wike always jump on every opportunity to insult igbos is because the nonviolent nature of the igbos assures them that there will be no repercussions! We must learn to meet evil with evil! I have said it here many times that if the igbo man continues to turn the other cheek as we are always told is the best, these minions will slap us dumb! If you want to survive in the land of the evil people, be ready to meet evil with evil... That's reality! It's the same reason I don't support ipob.. The day they are ready to meet fire with fire, then I'm game. Nigeria is ceaselessly and desperately prosecuting policies to annihilate igbos! Igbos must respond in a very emphatic way! Make them know you have had enough! Let them know it can't continue! Use Wike as an example and make him pay for the genocide at obigbo! How can you make Wike pay? |

holocron: True talk. Rivers state annexed obigbo because of their oil but refused to develop it. That town has remained undeveloped and stagnant since ever joining Rivers state. What portion does Obigbo have in Rivers State despite allowing its name to be changed to Oyigbo - a foolish nomenclature that has no meaning in any known language.
You claimed that atrocities committed by rioting mob was done by IPOB, with what evidence? Was the mob waving Biafran or IPOB flag in the attacks? Has IPOB taken responsibility for the attacks as done by terrorist groups like boko haram, Miyetti Allah etc? Even if IPOB members were part of the rioters, did they riot or commit atrocities in the name of IPOB or in their personal capacity? Have you ever heard or seen any IPOB official give orders to IPOB adherents for atrocities to be committed during IPOB demonstrations? IPOB protests and demonstrations has always been peaceful marches. If it was IPOB at Obigbo, who then was responsible for the atrocities and police attacks at Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo etc etc. Was it also IPOB looting warehouses all over Nigeria?
The liquidation of Obigbo is unjustified and may be masking other sinister motives. I strongly condemn the unnecessary loss of lives and the wantom destruction of properties in Oyigbo. However, it seems odd and unthinkable that Gov Wike, a darling of the Igbo people and the S/South people could do things against Ndigbo like you guys are accussing him of. |

Some Politicians in Nigeria are agberos. When the shooting occurred, he said based on their investigations there was no fatalities but two people were on critical care at the hospital. Most of the victims were even discharged the following day. The two people who later died one after the other died in the hospital. Sorry but stick to laundering the image of your boss when it comes to economic issues don't even bother cos you clearly don't know anything about it. How does Strike Actions help Trade Unions? Are you new in this country? When NUPEG (which include Petrol Tanker Drivers) goes on strike, sometimes for something as trivial as a soldier beating up a Petrol Tanker driver at Apapa,Lagos you will start seeing the effects with petrol scarcity in Lagos and in far away places like Abeokuta or even Ibadan. |

The Almajiris in the North do not know any zoning arrangements. They will vote a Kwankwaso,Atiku or Tambuwal in PDP over Tinubu. To make matters worse for Tinubu he is highly unpopular in the other southern regions of the SE/SS Let that be Tinubu's worries and not yours. The most beautiful thing would be for the two parties to select new faces. But in Nigeria the ruling class want to hold on to their loot.
