Even though I don't totally agree with the OP but your post is quite misleading. Right from time immemorial, man has always been having multiple females as wives (with different status in some cultures). Even in the Bible , virtually all the Jewish patriachs ,prophets and men of God had multiple wives. Those who had one wives were usually those who died young. The concept of one man, one wife is a very recent concept which became popular/legalized during the Roman Empire. In Europe, strict monogamy only became widely accepted about 500-700 years ago. In Nigeria, monogamy became popular only after Independence and became widely accepted in the South around the 1970s when Western educated Southerners increased in population. Uptill today, monogamous marriages are minority in the core North of Nigeria. TheOutlaw: |
This Bros is funny Sha. What concern Tinubu with the topic? Even at that, your hatred for Tinubu hasn't allowed you to reason well. Is it Tinubu, a private citizen that can prevent free and fair elections in a State? How come Hon Kako Aare, Hon Rita Orji, Tony Nwolu and two others won House of Reps election on PDP/LP plateforms in Lagos in 2015? How come the candidates of his party (which you erroneously labeled his candidates) has been wining since 1999? kelvinginzie: |
Mr Achuwa, you need to know that the NURTW is a trade union and NOT a Government agency. It predate APC by decades and it's not an organ of the party. Members of the NURTW like members of NUJ, NBA or ASUU belong to different political parties. Achuwa1: |
I feel for her but Babcock University also need to protect their reputation. She was quite naive and inexperienced (not about sex o), otherwise she wouldn't have acted like that. This particular episode will haunt her for life, her future children will get to hear about it and may even watch the video. It's good that some people are trying to help her get into another school but I hope some among them won't be asking her for sex in return. RedEagle: |
Must he always win? Didn't Azikiwe lose Anambra to NPN in 1983 and Buhari lost Katsina to the PDP in 2007 and 2011? Babacele: |
Sule Lamido never comprised, he stood with the PDP from 1998 till date. He lost his political base to Hurricane Buhari in 2015 but this doesn't mean he comprised splash1944: |
Sule Lamido never betrayed the PDP or Jonathan. He was one of the few heavy duty politicians in the core North who stood with the PDP through the thick and thin capitalzero: |
The bottom line was that Biafra was able to refine it's crude oil LOCALLY and produced most of the things they needed LOCALLY because they couldn't import anything... let's give them some credit for it. This resilience and ingenuity are what we need to replicate in modern day Nigeria. 0monnak0da: |
In which capacity? He was never the National chairman or Lagos State Chairman of the PDP? efighter: |
Bros, Biafria may be dead but the facts in the write up are real. Nigeria ought to learn from the civil war. There was no fuel scarcity or corrupt oil subsidy scheme in Biafria. MetaPhysical: |
Honestly I don't understand childish obsession with Geo-political zones in Nairaland political forum. Political parties and not tribes or Geo-political zones contest elections and voters in each zone support different political parties. The APC at present appears be the strongest political party in Nigeria. Ezeama400: |
That's great. It should be a good news to you and I strongly suggest that the PDP hire you as their political strategist on how to return to Aso-Rock in 2023. LabDNA: |
This post is misleading. These leaders are mostly monarchs who keep their kingdoms' wealth on behalf of their people. Even their personal wealth belong to the Kingdoms after their death. Nobody really pay them all these monies but they can draw upto that amounts from their treasuries IF THE NEED ARISES. The Kingdoms maintain all their needs till death, so why the need for all these salaries? |
Stop peddling falsehood in your old age sir. In the 2019 Election, SE=> PDP got 1.5million votes SW=> PDP got 1.6 Million votes and APC got 2.5 million votes. The S/West gave both the PDP and APC more votes than the S/East. The S/West with 15 million registered voters has the second highest registered voters while the S/E has 8 million registered voters which is the least in Nigeria. The presidential aspirants and the hierrachies of the political parties know the zones where they can get votes. PaChukwudi44: |
These circular smart villages look very beautiful. However we need to ask certain questions if Nigerians are to live in such places. 1) Where Iya Bashira's shop suppose to be or there is no provision for eating Amala and ewedu +Gbegiri soup? 2) Where is Chinedu going to be displaying his Okirika wears for customers to see and buy? 3) I can see where Mallam Garuba, the MaiSuya will be selling his Suya. 4) Where will 'Booda Taju' the vulcanizer stay in this planned circular village? 5) They forgot to creat NURTW motor parks,a very great error. |
Many religions are created by the Devil himself so as to confuse people about the oneness and identity of the only true God. Fabolousibk1: |
Kogi State is NOT part of Southwest and Yahaya Bello is not a Yoruba man but your hatred for the Southwest will still cause you to be bashing the Southwest over an election that took place in Kogi State. Nothing concern South West in this matter sir. mrvitalis: |
The beauty of democracy is the plurality of choices. There are millions of other Nigerians that will still vote for Tinubu whom some Igbos want to bring down at all cost. SalamRushdie: |

Emperor Imes has come and gone long time. He was the same person known to the Yorubas as Obatala. OladimejiRufai: |
Women could be very manipulative. Almost everybody that watched that Tiwa Savage's interview video pitied her and blamed Tblizz as the bad guy. Later on, many people are now doubting the picture of victimhood she tried to paint in her crashed marriage. tillaman: |
Sir Ahmadu Bello was a human who like all other mortals had his shortcomings. However as a political leader, a noble Fulaniman and a Regional Premier, he wasn't that bad as being ridiculed by online (mostly) Igbo youth. It will be very wrong to judge his actions by contemporary political barometer. He was a REGIONAL Leader but not a tribalist. He did his best for the North and many of his legacies are still very visible. Nigerian Political leaders in the 1953-1966 were the most visionary leaders we have ever had. They were bound to make mistakes because; 1) They were the pioneers. They had little prior experience in State craft and governance. 2) Their Background and their primordial environment reflected in their worldviews which was bound to be at variance with that of other regional political leaders. 3) Nigeria just started her journey into nationhood. It's very difficult to bring over 200 different tribes to live together as one. It's inevitable that there will be inter-ethnic tension. This was the reason Awolowo and the Action Group leaders suggested that a secession clause be inserted in the Independence Constitution at the Lancaster House constitutional conference. 4) The first couple was a great error of judgement and a costly mistake by truncating a natural learning phase and plunging the young artificially created country into a senseless civil war, the effects of which still reverberate till today. You are a bloody liar. The eligibility and its interpretation clauses have been like that since 1999. olisaEze: |
How does this concern Ndigbo? Every Geo-political zone is now asking for Development Commission, shouldn't the S/West also ask for it? celeiyke: |
I don't have time for your rantings. As a Lab scientist, I expect you to have passed this stage of reasoning. LabDNA: |
It's very normal. Ask young single mothers , especially those who don't have legitimate husbands or those the baby daddies reject the pregnancy. The sucking by the baby during breastfeeding is sort of sexual consolation for the absence of the father. derrydinny: |
Hmn in the real sense, most of these people don't do any wedding. They look for fvcking partners, impregnate or get impregnated and move in to start co-habitating. After few years, if the going is good, they may do traditional marriage (usually after much pressure from the woman's families). If the going is tough/bad, they dissolve the union and look for another mates. About 60-70% of Southern Nigerians are like this. In the North, they start early in life, usually around 15-17 years for the ladies. They however formalize their unions by doing a simple Islamic marriage called Hakidu Nikkai which may just cost about #10,000. By the time the ladies are 23-25 years, about half of the 'marriages' would have crashed. They quicky obtain Islamic divorce which is quite easy and they both move on. Open co-habitation or baby mama syndrome is not socially acceptable in the core North. SBL28: |
You have a deep understanding about life. I have to agrree with your analysis. I have seen similar stories before even in my family. Single mothers that were impregnated by their first love during their teenage hardly move on until the guy is HAPPILY married to another woman who can chase them away. They don't forget the guys. One of my female cousins who had such Romeo and Juliet relationship with her Secondary school BF got pregnant for the BF shortly after secondary School. She was mercilessly beaten and scolded by her mother and siblings. Ten years later, she had graduated, done with NYSC and was looking for who to marry her when she heard that her Baby daddy was now a very big boy with lots of cash to throw around and was already engaged and about to marry. She sat down and started crying. When her family asked what happened, she said it was her mum that misled her, that she would have continued with the guy and that she would have been the bride now! Charleys: |
What a brilliant analysis! However in real life, most women can fall for different kinds of men especially the bad guys. I have seen so many apprently well educated girls from good backgrounds dating criminals and social misfits. I have seen undergraduates ladies dating (or fvcking) security guards, Okada riders, school drop outs, NairaBET addicts, road side panel beaters and so many people who ought to be below them in social rankings or even age. Many women especially at their emotional vulnerable points can fall for any guy that appear to care for them, has sweet mouth( they love DECEPTION) with good dick! One nice, recently converted working class Christian brother made a vow of no sex before marriage to his 21 year old undergraduate fiancee whom he was partly paying for her education at a Polytechnic. He had the shock of his life when he discovered that one SUG guy was has been rusticated was among several other guys fvcking his fiancee on campus. The most annoying part for him was that his fiancee didn't know the real name of this SUG boy. She said everybody just call him 'ROCK' There are many police women who get fvcked by criminals that police arrested. All these ladies are normal ladies ,some of whom later got married to successful and decent guys. 2buffagain: |
I have come to the conclusion that people in this category don't have raised ego and their families/societies don't expect much from them. A hair dresser apprentice, bread hawker, paraga/agbo seller, pepper soup/beer joint operators or food vendor sales girl can have 3 children for 3 different men without being properly married to anyone of these men. SBL28: |
Every case is determined independently based on it's merits. These merits are determined based on the solid proof evidence provided and not on public opinions or emotional rantings. In Busola's case, the only evidence is the words of mouth of the complainants. There was no evidence of physical injuries on her body to corroborate resistance and struggle, no evidence that she was druged or not fully conscious, no evidence that she shouted for help (Busola's elder sister was in the building at the time), there was no evidence that the accused carried any weapon ,no other eye witnesses and above all, no medical report confirming that a rape has occurred. No court can just convict a man of rape solely because a lady accused him. Gforce2015: |
