The problem with you people is that you relish one sided obviously biased stories told by your parents and uncles about the civil war and want to force it down everybody's throats as the Gospel truths. You don't read the accounts of key players from the other side, let alone strive to have a balanced view of the events surrounding the civil war. You wrongly assume that the Biafran forces were saints who did no evil. Benjamin Adekunle was already relieved of his command and was no where near the war front when Isaac Boro was killed. Read eye witnesses accounts especially 'The Tragedy of Victory' by Gen Alabi-Isama joeyfire: Boro was tried by a court for treason in the Eastern Region but later murdered by your very own Adekunle.
If not that Awo was out of the picture in 1963 and the Western Region had been in a low grade civil war at that time you would never have allowed them to go. Do some research. You think the SS people don't know their history?
Finally this SW propaganda of biafran massacres in calabar has been decimated time and time again. When we dug deeper we observed that it was actually a Yoruba man serving under Murtala that even supervised the Asaba genocide. Nobody believes you guys but I guess you can't help trying |

I am not interested in your rabid bigotry and hatred for the Yorubas (that's your own cup of tea), however with regards to your last sentence, what exactly do you hope to achieve with this? This is a democratic dispensation, you are 100% free and right to vote for a Northern candidate either in 2023 or throughout your life. However ,you need to understand that 1) Other Nigerians also have this same right to vote for whosoever they like and when this doesn't tally with your preferred candidate, you have no right to call them traitors/betrayers. All of us can't see political issues exactly the same ways, let's learn to respect the views of other citizens who see things differently. 2) There are other Nigerians who will want to vote for a Yoruba candidate in 2023. It's best to put this into voting to determine which side of the divide are in the majority. 3) Yoruba candidates or any other serious presidential candidates, who have been nursing presidential ambition and have invested their time, energy, emotion and resources will not just abandon their ambition because a citizen like you is threatening to vote for a Northern candidate on a faceless forum. These rantings are quite childish and laughable. They won't stop any serious presidential material from contesting. NigeriaIsDoomed: I could have ignored you but for the sake of foreigners who are consumers of Nairaland as well, I have to cure your ignorance and put an end to your misinformation. Man you are stuck in the Stone Age to think that you are intellectually superior to other tribes in Nigeria, in this 21st century. You are only superior to others maybe numerically and that is it, and oh..yes you are uninformed to resort to such an immature assertion just to massage your overbloated ego. It is the silliest assertion I have ever heard man.. If you were superior to the ND intellectually as you erroneously claim, you wouldn't make such a puerile assertion. You can see how you are embarrassing yourself man.
So by virtue of being the first to build a TV station, stadium, skyscraper and provide free education and bla bla bla bla, that puts you ahead of the Niger Delta intellectually in this 21st century? Maybe you are intellectually superior to my tribe in skull mining.lol! Black man mentality and so myopic! Man you are delusional and only living in the past if you think so.
You asserted ignorantly as well, that our only importance is for others to plunder our wealth and use it to build their land. Another immature assertion from an uninformed and uncongenially demented creature! Let me refresh your memory, Nigeria entered recession in 2016 as a result of lower oil prices and production, exacerbated by militant attacks on oil and gas infrastructure in the Niger Delta region. GDP growth turned positive in 2017 as oil prices recovered and output stabilized. In addition, the Nigerian government relies heavily on the Niger Delta oil as its main source of foreign exchange earnings. Stop exposing your ignorance man! Proceeds of oil from ND have been used to feed you parasites and to keep this failed British Experiment going to this day. It is your region that is not even important to Nigeria.
If the billions of dollar my region generates from oil to fund the fake country and geographical expression called Nigeria were not shared to parasites like you, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers and Bayelsa would be competing with their peers in the Middle East.
Only a mad man or a traumatized weed smoker would reason like you. I am ashamed of sharing the same country with an ignorant and uninformed creature.
Back to the why I am here, let me put it to the Yorubas again that WE'd rather vote for another Northerner to rule Nigeria after Buhari's tenure than align with you traitors and ingrates. You can go to hell! |

Scared Are you for real Which unity Every ethnic group/Geo-political zone is pursuing it's own interests and are you seeing any one saying he is scared? The SS support the PDP just like the SE support the PDP but this doesn't mean both the SE and the SS will always be on the same page with every political issue. The defeat of Sen Ike Ekweremadu by Sen Ovie Omo-Agege as the Deputy Senate President clearly illustrate this point. Check the strength and the performance of the APC in the SS and compare it with that of the SE, you will see that the APC has made significant inroad into the SS joeyfire: Why are you all so scared of SE/SS unity? Even the north is not this scared. I am starting to suspect that SW has not recovered from the trauma of the Midwest referendum. |

Answer your Papa's name, what's SE/SS block? The truth is that as at now the SE has the least electoral advantage in Nigeria but most commentors from the Geopolitical zone prefer to blame the Yorubas for their political disadvantages and they believe (like Sambalat and Tobiah) that undermining the S/West will uplift the S/East. LabDNA: You can keep rehashing your Igbo vs Non-Igbo narrative to make yourself sleep better at night but we all know that the SE/SS bloc is as powerful as the NW/NE bloc, to your chagrin that is. Neither Tinubu nor any Northern politician owe you the presidency. They don't even have any power to dash anybody the presidency. You wrongly assume that Tinubu and all those who fought the PDP to a stand still for years investing their time, energy and resources to build the APC and attain power should sit by and refrain from reaping from their political investment at the ripe time. Be real for once and go into the election with the right mindset NOT the mindset that others owe you something. This kind of silly rantings is nauseating. The SW is NOT stopping you or any politician from the S/East from contesting. You hate the Yorubas with passion and you still have the audacity to be coming online to want to dictate whether the Yorubas should contest or not. In 2023, vote for El-Rufai , Atiku or whosoever you like and allow the Yoruba politicians test their popularity in a democratic manner. This is the best way to nurture democratic culture in Nigieria. Stop your tribal profiling by labelling the Yorubas or any tribe as the problem of the country. The present situation of Nigeria is a product of the actions and inactions of ALL parts of Nigeria. The Yorubas and the SE aren't Siamese twins. Princedapace: The problem is south west. South west is the biggest problem of southern Nigeria. They have always been and will forever be.
After OBJ ruled for 8 years, they should have waited a bit, but no, they felt they were smart. Even as it is now, they are the ones spoiling the southern chances. They dont ever want to allow east to rule. I dont know what east did to them. Instead of supporting their fellow southerner, they didnt becus they want to remain in power. Any ways, from the look of things, APC may present south west, pdp will simply present northerner and pdp will win. In fact the last election, if not for the usual naija matter, pdp could have won the election. |

You are one of the problems of single mothers in Nigeria. Your words are just too harsh. When you reach 40 years of age, you will voluntarily wish to delete this post. Single mothers aren't necessarily bad, I once wanted to marry one but external influences scuttled the plan before it germinated. Alexgeneration: No man in his right senses will waste his resources to marry a second-hand woman (single mother) when he can use same resources to get a better wife.
Only losers and men with low self esteem will end up with single mothers because they can't attract better females to themselves and if you ask them why, they will mask their inferiority with love, then you begin to ask "you no see virgin love abi you no see woman wey dem never useless love"?
Single mothers are the dregs of the female species and only few inches above mad women.

This 'problem' is magnified among well educated/professionals class. If you are a young doctor,Lawyer, Banker or an Engineer and you now bring home a 27 year old lady with 2-3 year old son as your fiancee, be rest assured that your mum and sisters will strongly object to it. Introducing her to your friends/colleagues will cause unnecessary embarrassments. However, i have noticed that for Okada riders, roadside mechanics, roadside tailors, NairaBET agents, NURTW members or carpenters, it's not a big deal. pcguru1: I know I can't avoid Drama but dealing with a single mother whose relationship with the father is problematic would equally be your own issues to inherit as the man of the house. I have to mentally not discipline his son because of what could happen, you have to maintain an unnecessary cordial relationship, and if there's conflict between the co-parents it becomes your own headache. Sounds stressful to me, I'm sure others wouldn't mind them, but not for me, experienced the drama involved already it's not fun at all. |

Haba! Don't be too judgmental. Many single mothers are victims of bad guys who took advantage of their inexperience/young age. And after turning them into single mother, the society induced discriminations make it difficult for them to easily get their preferred husbands, making them preys for 'community joysticks' They are just victims of circumstances, they aren't necessarily more promiscuous than other ladies. In developed democracies, it's the political parties that contest and sponsor presidential candidates but in Nigieria, it's the other way around. STAINLESS Kwankwanso, having been out of Government will just be like a fish out of water in 2023 and will be in a disadvantage position to even win the PDP ticket. STAINLESS Tambuwal too doesn't have the financial muscles and the national appeal to win a presidential election. The idea that another N/West candidate will succeed Buhari will not gain maximum support even in the North. There are individual Northern politicians from Nupe, Kanuri, Bolewa, Berom, Igala, Tiv etc who will see his candidature as consigning them to second class Northerners, only good for been used to win elections and they will work against him. In the PDP strongholds like SE/SS, there will be voters apparthy with low turnout because they won't be enthusiastic about voting his candidature. The North is far more heterogeneous and diversified than the South. In the First Republic, the NPC, NEPU, MCPC all have their bases in the North. In the Second Republic, Shagari won the 1979 election with votes from the Minorities (the old Benue,Rivers and Cross River States) as the core Norther votes were shared with Aminu Kano (old Kano & Kaduna States) and Waziri Ibrahim (old Borno & Gongola States) Check and compare the 2.5 million votes PDT received from the SE in 2015 to the 1.5 million votes Atiku/PDP received from the same SE in 2019. So what makes you over confident that your STAINLESS Tambuwal will get more votes than Atiku did in the SE/SS come 2023? In 2023 STAINLESS Kwankwanso or STAINLESS Tambuwal will need to be much loved and elevated to the status of a deity to get 2 million votes in the SE. ZombieTERROR: As 2023 draws near
